Since no one has posted it I will. When making a new character and you want a quick 2 handed blunt weapon to skill up, go get the abandoned orc shovel laying on the ground in the orc camp on the west side of Lake Rathe zone. It is laying on the ground in the back tent. You can get this at level 1 if you have someone cast invisibility on you and get there before it wears off. I take a few invisibility potions with me just in case. Link to shovel and location below:

Well that's not all true. I melee all the time, but I do have 32K HP and 30K Mana unbuffed. :-)

300 1hb skill. I melee sometimes for kicks, like when the mob has 13 percent life and is fleeing and snared. Any nuke or dot pretty much out dps's anything I can do in the same amount of time w/melee. However, there have been some raids in the past where I have meleed when a mob is a mana drainer, I am recently rezzed and under the timer, or when I'm last one standing and I'm going to die anyway. I die swinging.

Procs are fun, tho. I do it when I'm farming greens or greys. Hit aura, DS up, LIfetap proc up, and 200 proc crits. Heck, I ain't casting anyway.

I have noticed a sharp increase in the price of 2hb, they used to be cheaper to the 2hs counterpart as most opted for 2hs. However since the 5th anniversary events this have rapidly changed. A good 2hb and good 2hp weapon dropped during the Fabled that newbies would have guildies hunt them down. Those newbies are now buying much better weapons and are buying the 2hb.
1h or 2h

ok this is something ive been curious about since i joined everquest. the difference between 1hs and 2hs. or any of the 1h skills vs. 2h skills. now obviously u will do more base damage with a 2h weapon. but if u have a char like mine (iksar sk) who bashes and a weapon that swings fast (lower ratio) which would do more DOT? and since im an sk should i b worried about more DOT or more immediate damage (under 15-30 seconds?) im gonna post this on the 2h skills pages too.

I am a human necro. I have a Staff of The Bloodsabers. I wish I had started with 2hb from the start. If you solo a lot you will need this to kill off the mob. Practice.

If you can, cap this at every level starting at 1. Many of us do not do this however. This is mostly for lack of good 2hb weapons at lower levels. I suggest getting the lowest delay weapon possible, such as, if you are a monk or beastlord, a Bo Stick (11/24 6.5 stones) or even better, a Bamboo Bo Stick (8/20 2.0 stones). If you are not a monk, I suggest a Ketchata Koro Mis
(7/30 5.0 stones). Take this to your local xp'ing zone. I used the Overthere. You can either do this in a group or solo, I prefer solo since if you are starting from such a low skill level you will be almost useless in group. Find a group that is hunting something around your level and kindly ask them if you can smack the mob around a bit to raise your 2hb skill level. Most groups will welcome a bit of extra damage, so there is a mutual relationship between you and the group. This will raise skill fast without much risk to yourself.
