Items that add % are skill modifiers, and when equipped you can check your skills window and see your Dodge skill increase over your base skill level.
Improved Dodge is a worn focus effect, and while it does not directly impact any visible stat or skill it adds directly to your chance to dodge for every incoming melee attack.
In whatever equation the game uses to determine if you get hit by melee or ranged weaponry, your innate Dodge skill is used. One boosts your base skill # by a percent, and the other adds a direct 10-70 to that # (for improved dodge I-VII) during the calculations only.
I have a lvl 53 BL. Currently my Agility is at 151. I am at a loss as to whether I should go for a range item with more AGI (advanced stealth manual) or for an item with +4% to dodge (fetish of the agile. It seems to me that I would get more from the fetish and the +4% then I would from a bigger boost to my Agi. Just curious if anyone has played with this idea before.

Fetish of the Agile all the way. +10 Agi +10 Dex and +4% dodge mod. If you melee alot it's the only way to go, manual only has 2 more dex and agi without the dodge mod.
it depends what you doge skill is. Mine is 100 somthing, so my skill with the feitsh would increase to 104 (plus 4% of 100 is 4, but you knew that right?) Soit wouldn't make that big a diff, plus agi helpos with your Ac and defensive skills so you might increase you dodge skill to 104 with the agi anyways. But when you get to max dodge then it might help more, if you can go over with modifiers.
wait how mush agil does the fetish have and how much does the manual have, if its not alot more for the manual go with the fetish or try them both and see which one works better.
I found out the fastest way to get dodge up is melee with 2-3 mobs. The main drawback is that... you have to be good enough so you dont get killed! lol
i dont understand why they dont just add a screen that shows the actual # that the skill is at. but any way dodge correct me if i'm wrong goes off you agility. so the higher the agility the higher you chances are on dodging or rasing any defensive skill.
