This ability works off of Combat Fury and your weapons damage. For SU1 I was hitting between 200-600 with a 1 Hand Slash and 700-1200 with a 2 hand slash.
It helps if you make an audible alarm using the following: Holy Blade Cleanses you will notice the hits more often.

This ability will cause your criticals to inflict greatly improved damage versus the undead.
it is VERY possible, at lvl 85, to achieve 100k dmg in a single triple attack.

This is a must have for Paladins. The more levels, the more often it procs and the higher the damage per proc. Take this and hit the undead zones. You'll wade through them.
Yes you need to get this.. it fires off more and more later on(with level 3) the damage is insane and when you use your disc now it helps with other crits and more procs..

My Pally is lvl 62 currently, I also had heard such high marks about this ability that I started to store up unused aa points for it before I was even lvl 59. Here is what I can tell you from my own personal experience. At lvl 59 I had enough aa to train in SU1 and SU2 as soon as I ding 59. SU2 was ok, but not nearly as nice as SU3 which I got at lvl 60. From what I can tell, crits are totally random, however when I have max 265 dex, I get a ton of them compared to when my dex is unbuffed (198). Weapon dmg/del are also a factor IMO. The 2 weapons I mainly use are a 45/40 2hp, and a 26/22 2hp. with max dex and 45/40 I still slay quite abit, In MM LDoN i probably average at the very least 1 slay per 2 mobs, usually more. But with max dex and 26/22 i slay much more often. The reason being IMO is that since the ability is totally random.. every time you swing you get the random chance to slay, so the more often you swing...you get the idea. As far as amounts go, 26/22 2hp minimum slay ive ever has s 536, and max was just slightly over 3k. But with my HWL 45/40 smallest is 886, and biggest ive ever had is 5k, but average slay is right around 3k. A good way to mess with this ability is bring your vast array of weapons and go to ToFS. Go up to like 5th floor, there all the mobs are undead, and most have a nice amount of HP for greenies. Experiment with your weps, see which seem to slay for more, or more often etc etc. IMO slay undead is the sweetest AA for pallys. Often in LDoN i can be OT and kill mob b4 group kills origional pull, thx to slay. So spend those aa points, max out the skill and be happy that you can now have numbers in ( ) that look like a wizzy nuke hehe.

Looking for more In game info on this (yeah i dont talk to alot of paladins so what). I currently have SU 2 and dont find it that usefull even with LDoN where mistmoore has 50percent undead i rarely get more than 2-5 procs per entire dungeon... So many paladins i have heard speak so highly of this skill and how it is a must for all paladins to max... Now currently i have 161 AAs 2 are banked and im looking down the path of saving 7more just to finish SU. But i need to know from other paladins if this is worth it since i know they nerfed it waaay back when paladins where just critting to high to often. So now is it worth it to get this skill maxed? a friend of mine said since i already invested 8 AAs i might as well finish. But i still have to finish 2 ranks of the PoP extra crits ( i forget the name at this moment fury of the ages or some crap 3 more ranks to Combat fury normal Critage that helps on live beasties ) and i can always use FT and healing and Buff duration AAs. I have shied away from traditional Class Paladin AAs cept for horsey combat stability and Double riposte ... Would anyone who played with Slay Undead before the nerfage recommend it now? Anyone have info on how often SU 2 jumps when put to SU 3? Dont know if anyone will find this post as i just noted that this was listed on Alla been wondering about this for a while.

My paladin just got SU3, and it plain ROCKS! Crits jumped from around 3k (windblade) to my current high hit of 4979! One swing woot! I have saved up for it since I began AAxp; it was my sole goal. I need 3 more aa and I will have 2hbash and the 3rd title. I notice in LDoN MM i usually have 1 Slay per mob, on a bad run maybe 1 Slay every two mobs. On the flip side, I have had 2 slays against the SAME mob (rarely gonna get 3 in... 2 really knocks down their hps! I did not play with it pre-nerf, but it is very nice IMO. Get the Slay Undead 3. You won't regret it! Please note that my paladin is only 61, so he doesn't even have the extra pally stuff. The only 61 ability he has is the 1st tier of Triple Attack (I forget the name).
