The family of Suspension of Slime potions is generally regarded as a complete waste of time and effort for anything other than skilling up Alchemy (up to VII, they are relatively cheap and the components - beyond the vial itself - are all vendor bought). Alchemists rarely bother with making any of these past Formed Suspension of Slime VII, unless they have extra dropped components laying around.

Furthermore, the snare only very rarely sticks.

The general consensus is that they are worthless.

The general consensus is wrong.

What these little beauties are is "100% Guaranteed Insta-Hate in a Bottle".

A main tank using one of these on a pulled mob as his first attack will cause said mob to bee-line straight for him/her and STAY THERE for a good long time. These are terrific little potions if used for that purpose, and not to hinder the mob's movement. If they do actually land a snare, great. If not, fine - the Main Tank gets a faceful of mob, a good headstart in the aggro contest, and gets to do his job basically uninterrupted.
