The only time I caught the Barren Flounder was when the boat was near by. This happened literally 100% during my four hour excursion into getting them....I also fished in the hut above the water...the only time I got the Barren Flounder was when the boat was nearby.Take that for what it is worth.

At lvl 12 my fishing is up to 55 so far. i have had intermittant luck with the flounder. In 2 hours i caught 6 of them. At lvl 53 (different charactor) i caught about 3 per stack of bait... of course my necromancers fishing is around 140 or so. The boat no longer seems to have an effect on the type of catch you recieve.
