Armor

Im a LvL 18 anger with Chainmail and Dwarvin Ringmail. But I want better stuff. Everybdy says get small banded but it's s hard to find. So my question is what is good armor for a Wood Elf Ranger that is asy to find and better than Chainmail???
RE: Armor
# Jul 03 2001 at 9:47 AM Rating: Decent
Banded armor is crafted by PC smiths. Just watch the auction channel and have your platinum ready. I see banded armor pieces for sales in just about every civilized zone on Tholuxe Paells all the time. It's a little heavy for a ranger, but is the best standard armor we can use.

yeah you should stay around kelithin until level 5 or 6 and you should try and get a decent bow the best thing to do would be to kill alot of warp drones and sell royal jelliies until you have enough money to buy a bag or two then just go and kill lots o' junk. If you want to conntact me i am on the morrell thule server send lots of tells and i might get you some armor

well with you charisma as a bard, you should make some money off it... i cant really do it as an iksar warrior, everything costs close to double for me with my 55 charisma... not really a great way to make money... and before you start if you wanna get to master i would save up at least 600pp if you dont have that much maybe do tailoring its cheaper
#Anonymous, Posted: May 16 2001 at 8:22 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I have a lvl 10 Druid took for ever she is a Wood Elf to be sure after I sifted trough all the spam on this board I will attempt to claer up a few Q."s with A."s first if you are a serious gamer get a good video grfix card you can see everything with a voodoo 4500 that i have in my atholon gigaHERTZ clone pc. next to be sure rangers are the hardest to lvl talk /ooc and send tells and you will find that other rangers are helpful and realize how hard it is to lvl a ranger char. and like forrest G*ump thats about all i have to say about that.

lvl 5 bard, where to hunt???
# May 05 2001 at 11:27 PM Rating: Excellent
I have a lvl 5 bard, not much armor, a desent weapon, and all the songs up to my level. I have been going to orc hill to hunt but keep getting killed due to other orcs coming to their comrades aid. Have tried forming groups without much luck. Also would like to know where a good place to hunt pixie tricksters is.

Thanks in advance...
emailing me responses is fine and welcome

What I would suggest is find a Druid with Harmony and go to the bandit camp (I'm assuming that your bard is a Wood Elf and hence is in Kelethin). :-)

Other than that, they say that going to Steamfont or to Kaladim would be a better choice.

And I wouldn't really know where to look for pixie tricksters, I mostly think that you can find them anywhere.

I camped the bandits for like two levels, and when I next went to Freeport, I got attacked by someone in the bad part of town, and a corrupt guard came to his aid. You take a faction hit against Bristlebane for kill them.

You can go into CB with groups or even try soloing there. In any case hunting in CB near the entrance is what I did. After that you can hunt slavers and then legos and such. =)

just wante to give some info about druids,my bro has a lvl 34 druid and i know alot about them from watching, anyways druids are not good in tunnels or battling 1 on 1 because they aren't very strong because they dont have alot of HP so they die really easy ,if you want to get better with a druid at lvl 7 you need to go to like qeynos hills or somewhere in a open field so that you can kyre some bad stuff but first try to make friends with a high lvl druid or something so that they can give you + mana and + wisdoom stuff so that you can have more mana for spells,or you can get in a group in CB if that is where you are near and heal the fighters and get xp if you are lvl 7,the best way to get xp would be to get in a group with like some lvl 10 people that are tanks and just heal them as they fight like the legonairs becase i had a wood elf warrior(i dont recomend it ,i just wanted to try it lol)but he could solo legos with 1 lvl 9 druid healing him and he had like i think around 2 or 3 hundred HP so he was ok but i wouldn't recomend it but find a open area to take out stuff so you should get a port to NK and have whoever ported you to escort you to qeynos for a bind then go to blackburrow or qhills, which ever one you like better for better xp and faster lvling well sorry i typed so much but it should help

RE: what the hell?

Sure, but we need to know what you need help with. If you need help instarting a Wood Elf Ranger and need some tips, simply ask. If you want to know where you should hunt for levels 9 through 15, simply ask. If you wonder why your stamina keeps depleting, simply ask. There are a lot of people that are eager and willing to help but I can only answer specific questions, not rants. Also, it helps if you don't post anonymously. I am much more inclined to seriously help someone if I have a name to associate with the question.

I am a 20Rouge and did this first part of the series in the quest at lvl 12, It is worth it I think, alot of people ask to see it. Although it looks kewl, and has OK stats as far as Dex goes. It really aint that hard to do. After getting the coin, I waited around cb entrance for 45 minutes. Then ran over to the spawn point just around the 1hr spawn time. Hide in the wheel barrel so that Slaver wouldnt kill me, or Rondo even). And as soon as he spawned I gave it and got the letter.

At lvl nine you might want to try and find a group after you get the coin, the 1 hr spawn time will give you enought time to seek one. maybee suggest going to slaver camp) you rogue you)
Ran my but back to kele. and got the cape.

Next to do is the Scouts Blade) but apparently I havent killed enought orcs, cause he wont talk to me.
Wood elfs as tanks
# Apr 19 2001 at 6:40 AM Rating: Default
Obviously, if you are going to make a ranger, you want to add as many points into str as you can. For there, you will be suprised at how easy it is to raise their str and eventually, max it out. One a lot of people overlook, though, is the importance of ac. You have to boost your ac just as doggedly as you boost your str because that is what keeps you from getting hit. A lot of people will say that ac is more important than str, I disagree. I find them equally important; this is my philosophy: I don't want to get hit in the first place, but if I do, I want to be able to knock the H#$* out of them right back!
RE: Wood elfs as tanks
# May 22 2001 at 10:04 AM Rating: Default
Well the truth is, your gonna want agility. The other truth is, Half Elves all the way =P they are >>>>>>>>>>>> wood elves
Str vs. Agi
# Apr 30 2001 at 10:51 AM Rating: Excellent
I somewhat disagree. When I started my Wood Elf Ranger I placed all my attribute points into strength. I wanted to be able to hit hard and carry all kinds of heavy loot. After many levels I am regretting that dscision. I wish I had placed it all into agility. As you gain levels you will find many items in-game to boost your strength not to mention the occasional magic bag for weight reduction. Since this post is under the term Tank, my suggestion would be to worry more about AC than strength.

# Apr 19 2001 at 12:04 PM Rating: Default
Actually, Wood Elves already have night-vision (play one of the Human races and you'll see what it means to be really night-blind). If you want to be more comfortable though, just buy a torch from one of the merchants, or buy the spell Dance of the Fireflies, which summons a globe of light that you can use.

I am a 34th Ranger from kelethin, one of the best things i found with starting here is the abundance of things to kill. Admitedly I had some small assistance from others in the area. The help only came from me spending the time to exsamine the surroundings.

The first thing I did was to follow the paths to each zone and /loc them. Then I hunted skellies and bat's only till I had 2 full stacks of bone and wings. I thne sold these to Necros and Druids for a nice 2-5pp a stack and brought 3packs. all the time gaining exp.

Don't worry about dying first off, Just make sure you have a /loc key made and use it when you get down to 1bulb of health. That way you will have a ruff location of where your corpse is if you need something off it.

Once you have three packs hunt Pixie Tricksters, Skellies, Bats and the odd Orc Pawn. Take every thing from them and only go to the bank when you have no room in your packs. Only bank the wings, bones and fairy dust. Sell everything else you can't use and equip anything you can.

I always keep an Eye on the WTB auctions or people yelling for bones, wings(profit helps you grow). By now you should have level 3 maybe even 4 and about 12 - 20 Fairy dust...(maybe) and you would have brought 3 more packs to hold more items in your bank. empty the packs you are carrying of everything except the fairy dust and go see Ran Sunfire, in the ranger's guild hall. She wants you to bring her 6 pixie dusts and combine them in the bag she gives you. Return for experience, faction with TunaresScouts and money and an item, usually a piece of patchwork armor, but sometimes leather or rawhide.
