The Froglok

FRROOARRRRK! The race of Frogloks expelled the Trolls from Grobb, renamed the city Gukta, were summarily kicked back out at a later date, and now reside in the Mountains of Rathe. They can be Warriors, Clerics, Shaman, Paladins, Wizards, Necromancers, Rogues or Shadowknights.

Are the Frogloks restricted to useing just small and medium weapons or can they use like large weapons and only medium armor... how does that work? cause the everquest page says they can only wear small and medium...

Is it just me or some recent bug that is making newbie frogs level REALLY slow? I killed in Gukta for an hour last night and only got half a level. Went over to FP, 3 kills dinged me to level 2, then it slowed back down to ultraslow again.

Going to Try a Frog Wizzard
# Jun 08 2003 at 2:35 PM Rating: Decent
I just started my first Wizzard today and he is a froggy. I see that this race should perform very well as a wizzy. High natural Stamina, Dex and Agility. Just dump all your extra points into Int and you are good to go. Add that to a starting swimming skill of 125 and Ultravision and good alignment seems to make this race superior to the Dark Elves for the Wizzard class.

I just got LoY today and I'm loving this Froglok deal. I made a shaman and a warrior, though I'v only started my shaman. Frogloks own so much. They look sweet, look funny with emodes, and have great stats. This is by far my favorite race.
Frogs and insects
# May 20 2003 at 2:06 PM Rating: Decent
I have not started a froggie yet but plan to when I get back to the game.

I would like to see them have some type of special attack on insects and animals. Reason you ask. You have the standard frogs out there that catch insects all the time and rid the planet of those pesty little buggers. Then you have you giant toads (I know that is not a frog but of the same family) that are carnivores, thus covering the animal realm.

Lets just say that the Flies in POD are more easy prey for the foggie. I think that some inate ability to get better hits when fighting insects would be kewl. You have the Wasps and Giant Wasps in lower lvls, then you can move to DL and kill the spiders there. Hell there are spiders all over the place for that matter. Wasps in Skyfire. The list goes on.

Just Food for thought

Take care and adventure well

While I do see your point, if SOE made it that realistic, shouldnt Vah Shir get feared or something every time a dog-type mob hits them? And I think cold-blooded iksar would die when zone into everfrost or any other "cold" zones. Thank goodness it's a fantasy game huh? =)

hmmm.... innate bane damage...I love it! It would add a whole new demension to the game. The Vah Shir beat the Frogs beat the Barbarians beat the Iksar beat the Erudites beat the High Elves beat the Dwarves, etc., etc. Humans could be middle-of-the-road, not being strong against any other race, but not weak against any of them either.

I've been having a blast with my warr, and the newbie armor is awesome. Seems that SOE hasn't made much progress quest-wise past 10-15 so I'm waiting to see what develops.

I've had friends start a pally, cleric, and wizard. Seems the pally is good as well. The wizzy takes some skill to play.

what would be the best class to be as a Froglok?
RE: class
# May 22 2003 at 11:53 AM Rating: Decent
Froglok paladins are terrific, they rival dwarf paladins. Froglok clerics are nice, and froglok shamans are kinda odd because they get the ability to shrink even though they're a small race, but still fun. Not many people make froglok wizards, and frogloks look cool in robes, so wizard is a cool choice if you want to be different. I would suggest against warrior, though, as frogloks look weird when using two weapons, and their strength is low, but their stamina is high. If you make the paladin, use sword-and-shield because they look even fruitier than the warrior dual wield when attacking with a 2 hand slash weapon.

I just started playing EverQuest again, after playing SOCOM, then EverQuest Online Adventures(EQOA), and now I'm back to EverQuest. Its been about a year but still good. I have Shadows of Luclin and was thinking of getting Ykesha instead. I can only fit one expansion onto my computer so I can't decide which one. Ykesha has the Frogloks which I find very interesting and unique. It also has the armor dye feature. About that, does that mean that you can dye any armor you get? Like a black newb cloak could be red? Luclin has the Vah Shir which is a cool race. It also has the enhance graphics(does Ykesha get that?). Can anyone help me decide which would be better?
RE: Frogs or cats?
# Jun 12 2003 at 10:42 PM Rating: Default
i would say this...

don't get either... the best thing for you to do is just hate the fact you have neither and save your money so you can upgrade your computer... there is no reason why you should play such a great game on a computer that can't hold it...

OR... you could move half of your files from your C Drive to your D Drive, if you have two drives... other than that, just save your money and get a better computer, so notonly can you have Luclin and the cats, but you can have Ykesha and the frogs... AND be a God Killer with Planes of Power!! C'mon, how cool does that sound, huh?

RE: Frogs or cats?
# May 09 2003 at 11:46 AM Rating: Decent
IMO, I'd say Luclin. I do love the little frogs, but Luclin gives you the Beastlord class, which is one of my favorites! If you plan on playing your high lvl characters though, the Ykesha zones can be a fun choice as well (gulf of gunthak and dulaks harbor). It's all a matter of personal choice, but overall I'd say Luclin (sorry my precious froggies!)
RE: Frogs or cats?

I know this post may be kindof late, but getting past lv 16-20 is IMPOSSIBLE WITHOUT luclin. I have tryed without going to PC. I went to Oasis, I went to Estate of Unrest, I went almost everywhere and I COULD NOT level. But..... this all is just my opinion.
RE: Frogs or cats?
# Apr 24 2003 at 9:41 PM Rating: Default
ummm, if it's impossible to lvl past 16 to 20 without luclin, how did people get to 21+ before luclin came out? Then again, you did say it was just your opinion so...

Anyway, I would go with Ykesha. The frogloks are a MUCH better race than the Vah Shir IMHO (A. I hate cats. B. the froglok newbie armor is incredible). Also, with ykesha you get the cartography system which is more useful than you can imagine when trying to find your way to a certain zone or location. Also, Ykesha is better for computers that are pressed for space since it is a smaller expansion.

He is kinda right. Unless you can solo real well, usually you need a group for unrest and I find oasis too dangerous with so many aggro mobs (madmen, trained specs, HGs, Cazel/Lockjaw, etc.) I find the same topic hover around where to hunt at the 30s, everyone is in DSP, but wheres the alternative? Abandoned or lowly populated =(

Froggie Question

Hey everyone, Im on the MT server and have a 65 bard, who can roam to almost any zone. I have been to about 60 zones and have yet to see a froglok. I have the graphics LoY ect. I know this will sound dull, but are Frogs dark or light races? I presume dark race because Lguk consists of those little demons. If anyone would please take the time to list the races frogs aren't KoS with, I can figure out the rest.
RE: Froggie Question
# May 29 2003 at 11:29 PM Rating: Decent
Just my opinion, I thought they would be a good race as they KOS trolls (evil) and my good-aligned ranger went into Upper Guk unmolested by them, albeit dubiosuly =)
RE: Froggie Question
# Mar 26 2003 at 10:52 PM Rating: Decent
The frogloks are considered a good race...they are not KoS in any of the citied considered good. They would be considered KoS I believe in the other cities though. They are also of a different faction than the other Frogloks of Guk. The new races are Frogloks of Gukta...I hope this answers your questions for you

I have found a few of them, dropped off Fungus Man Tracker, Fungus spores once, even once off a bull Alligator. I even foraged one when I was visiting the area with my Druid. It seems that they are all over the place, but since you need one, it will probably be the rarest drop, just for you... heh. You can find them for sale by vendors or players, since the shamans seem to have no use for them. Good Luck.
