You may have to do the Toolset Delivery quest prior to doing this quest (or you may just need appropriate faction).

You say, 'Hail, Wenglawks Kkeak'

Wenglawks Kkeak says 'Greetings, _____, I have heard of you. My name is Wenglawks Kkeak. Welcome to my humble home. My sources tell me you are a mercenary. Is this true?'

You say, 'I am a mercenary'

Wenglawks Kkeak says 'Well then, I suppose you might be looking for work. Are you?

You say, 'I am looking for work'

Wenglawks Kkeak says 'I have been looking for a few good people to deliver goods for me. I have several deliveries to clients which must be made soon. My last delivery person ended up dead, unfortunately.

You say, 'I wish to undertake it'

Wenglawks Kkeak says 'In the great divide there is a small outpost of kromrif. In that outpost you will find Bekerak, my client. I have acquired this new hunting spear for him and he may wish to test it out. Because of one simple mistake, once in my past, he thinks all of my wares are shoddy. I need the payment for the transaction still so don't let him get away without giving it to you. Take this voucher to Kellek and he will give you the spear.'

Take the note to Kellek Felhammer in the next room. He will give you a spear.

Take the spear to Bekerak Coldbones at the Kromrif outpost. Doing so will spawn an angry shardwurm.

From the shardwurm, loot a Giant Shard Wurm Tooth. Give the tooth to Bekerak, and receive a Giant Icewurm Talisman. Take the talisman to Wenglawks to receive the Bracer of Midnight.

kill about 360 dwarves, then turn in 60ish heads that you collected. that should be enough faction to max out anyone with zek and rif, and dubious to tormax.
Bracer

FYI as of today 10-30 01, he dropped the bracer of MIdnight after we killed him. so no need to do quest, just kill him:)

is this still a valid quest?

I heard this quest was broken...anyone know if that's true or if there's a new way to get this bracer?

Get a group of 6 people. Level 50 or higher.

Invis up if KOS, go to Kael. Go the the hallway that leads to the arena.

There are two Senior Guards that SEE INVIS in this door. Stay in the middle of hall and you will not agro them at all.

Wenglaws makes several trips up and down this tunnel. There are also two roaming guards that come thru as well.

This guy is a wuss, kill him and loot the bracer.

Interesting most of kael quest rewards can be gotten by killing the quest giver.

Doing the quest is nice for lowbie, but any rogue above level 50 will be putting this item in the bank, unless ya dont have a set of Woven Bracers or one of the unforuntate shorties that cant wear hero bracer or havent saved up for a myrolkar bracer.

You'll need to kill hundreds of coldains to get the faction needed for this quest.
The Fight

Did this quest twice tonight with a friend. When we turned in the spear and went to fight the wurm, he didn't engage it at all. He merely walked up to it and stood there and walked away.

I don't know if it's been changed or not. But there was no worries of him kill stealing it.

It's a good idea to run out ahead of Bekerak and engage the Angry Shardwurm before he gets there. If you solo it there's no chance that Bekerak will steal the kill, causing the corpse to poof. I can't imagine it's any higher than level 35, as it was green to me. Another option would be to let Bekerak die before attacking it, but then you'll have to wait for him to respawn to turn in the tooth.

A word of warning: Bekerak does not taunt -- at all. As soon as you enter the fight it will chase and attack you, and only you, no matter how much damage Bekerak does to it.

Maybe you made a simple mistake. He gave me the spear, and he was amiable to me.

If you say "I will undertake it" instead of "I am ready to undertake it" then you get a different note, not the note for the spear.

Maybe you're trying to do the third task -- amiable faction is insufficient for that one.
