This quest begins with Tynkale in Northern Felwithe. It's fairly long and involved with several parts to it.
You say, 'Hail, Tynkale' Tynkale says 'Hail noble, _____! Can you be of [service to the Clerics of Tunare] or are you not from our order?' You say, 'I can be of service to the Clerics of Tunare.' Tynkale says 'That is good. Prove yourself, then. Are you [new to Felwithe] or have I been conversing with a [veteran of the good fight]?' You say, 'I am a veteran of the good fight.' Tynkale says 'I command you to venture to Innothule and seek a beast called Jojongua, a name penned by the trolls. It is said to be ten feet tall and nothing but fury. Some say it resembles a kobold, but how can that be? You bring this beast's hide to me and then I will believe you to be a veteran. Beware! Innothule is a very dangerous place even for a noble veteran.' Jojongua is found in the aptly named "Jojongua's Tower." Loot the Very Large Pelt and take it back to Tynkale. Tynkale says 'So you have proven yourself to be a great slayer of beasts. Now it is time to prove yourself to be an asset to the Crown. You are to meet a man named Tolon Nurbyte. He will be at the local inn. Go to him and repeat the phrase, 'The glory of the Mother shines bright.' I can say no more. Oh.. and here. This may help you on your upcoming adventure.' Your faction standing with Clerics of Tunare got better. Your faction standing with King Tearis Thex got better. Your faction standing with Anti-Mage got better. You gain experience!! Head to Travelers Home Inn in North Felwithe. Inkeeper Freegraze is on the left when you enter the building, and may be located using Find (Ctrl-F). You say, 'Hail, Inkeeper Freegraze' You say, 'Where is Tolon Nurbyte?' Inkeeper Freegraze says 'So you are inquiring about Mister Tolon Nurbyte, eh? He is on the second floor, last door on the right. You two had best not be up to any mischief. The pair of you look a little shifty for the kingdom of Felwithe.' Head upstairs as directed. Tolon Nurbyte is found at location 155, -350, 17. You say, 'Hail, Tolon Nurbyte' Tolon Nurbyte says 'Didn't your mother teach you not to walk in other people's rooms without knocking?! You didn't even have the courtesy to close the door behind you!!' You say, 'The glory of the Mother shines bright.' Tolon Nurbyte says 'So you're the slayer of Jojongua. Funny, I thought you would be taller. I guess you will have to do. I am Tolon Nurbyte of the Silent Watch. We do all the dirty work of King Tearis Thex. No one knows of us. So I hope you accept this mission or I will have to kill you. Do you [accept the mission] or do you [wish to leave]?' You say, 'I accept the mission.' NOTE: Tolon Nurbyte's responses may be bugged. The quest does work, however. Tolon Nurbyte says 'In her mortal life, Kaya Rishareth was a keeper of tranquility and served her beloved child-like goddess with every fiber of her being. A native to the free city of Freeport, Kaya found herself traveling on her own as soon as her master would allow. Erudin was the destination she chose and it was the temples dedicated to The Tranquil where she sought to learn more about her goddess and perhaps share philosophies and knowledge with the High Men. Erudin received her graciously and for nearly a year, she studied the High Men's way of worship and reverence to their shared deity. However, tranquility is easily disrupted and those who seek it, must also [defend it].' If you say "I wish to leave", he attacks you. You say, 'I wish to leave' Tolon Nurbyte says 'There is only insufferable labor and merciless torment here, stranger. Kaya Rishareth has condemned her eternal self to servitude in the War Forge -- her selfless act malignantly repaid by the gods with this existence. Her spirit died here long ago and her life's [effort and struggles] were ultimately for naught.' There are no known responses to "defend it" or "effort and struggles". If you ask him about Princess Lenya: You say, 'Who is Princess Lenya Thex?' Tolon Nurbyte says 'What?!! You have word of the Princess? She has been missing for quite a while. I sent Tearon to Tunaria to search for her, but he has not reported back. If you wish to help, you'd better prove yourself worthy first. I believe you should talk to Tynkale.' At this point, do the "Highpass Lottery" quest to get the key to the royal suite, "Highkeep Royal Suite" and use it to open the door to Tearon Bleanix. You say, 'Hail, Tearon Bleanix' Tearon Bleanix says 'Beware!!.. Beware, the Teir'Dal walk the halls of Highkeep!!' You say, 'Who is Princess Lenya Thex?' Tearon Bleanix says 'The Princess Lenya Thex is the daughter of His Royal Majesty, King Tearis Thex of Felwithe. She was on her way to Qeynos when we believe she was kidnapped by Carson McCabe, the governor of this vile city. I await the paladin from Felwithe.' You say, 'All is not bright above the clouds' Tearon Bleanix says 'Taken from this place she has been. Seek the Highpass hussy. Ask of her. Only she knows where. Find the Princess. Give her this. Show your allegiance. This and her key. Then return the room key to me with the prize from the princess. Become a hero!!' You receive "Tearon's Bracer". The Highpass Hussy Tearon referred to is Mistress Anna. You learn this by talking to most any NPC in highkeep (such as the guards) and asking them "Who is Mistress Anna?" You say, 'Who is Mistress Anna?' Guard Mytin says 'Mistress! Aptly named, that one. You are speaking of the Highpass hussy. That is what everyone calls her, at least behind her back, that is. Just as Highpass, she is beautiful and frequently traveled. I have heard rumors that Carson has been seeing her, but how can that be true? He has Lady McCabe. What else does he need?' Find Mistress Anna. You say, 'Hail, Mistress Anna' Mistress Anna says 'Yes? I don't often converse with the servants of Highkeep, but what do you want? I am a very good friend of Carson McCabe's. If I wished it so, you could be sent to the dungeons to converse with the artisans of pain.' You say, 'Who is Princess Lenya?' Mistress Anna says 'What do you know of the Princess? Are you [working for Lady McCabe] or were you [sent by someone else]?' You say, 'I was sent by someone else' Mistress Anna says 'I see. The Princess was being held by Lady McCabe. The one who would know of her whereabouts is a dark elf named Tyrana, but I doubt she will tell you. You will have to beat it out of her and then find a shackle key for little miss 'princess.' I regularly meet with Marlin, the locksmith, at night in room six at Rooster's in Highpass. Do me a favor and kill the disgusting creep. You will find the shackle key you need on him. Now, get out of here!' You say, 'I am working for Lady McCabe' Mistress Anna says 'Then may I suggest you pick the closest window and jump out?!!' Find Tyrana Slil and attack. Tyrana Slil says 'Guards! Guards! Help me!!' Your faction standing with Carson McCabe got worse. Your faction standing with Coalition of Tradefolk Underground got worse. Your faction standing with Ring of Scale got better. Your faction standing with Highpass Guards got worse. Your faction standing with Merchants of Highpass got worse. You have slain Tyrana Slil! Loot "Fish Food Vial" (a container) and "Torn Parchment" (a note explaining how to create fish food using the fish food vial). In the Fish Food Vial, place (unstacked) three "Fairy Dust" and one "Sand of Ro". Hit combine, to make "Fish food". (No-fail, non-tradeskill combine.) Find Marlin Shirtov in Highpass Hold. Mistress Anna asked you to kill him but, you do not need to. He spawns at 9 PM game-time (using /time) and then despawns later in the day. You say, 'Hail, Marlin Shirtov' Marlin Shirtov says 'What are you doing in here? I requested no room service. Now leave, quickly, before Mistress Anna comes!' You say, 'Who is Mistress Anna?' Marlin Shirtov says 'Mistress Anna is my lover. She will wed me as soon as she is through mourning the loss of her ex-lover. Until then, I shall continue to keep her well. She assures me she will be over it soon. I am sure she loves me. She meets with me often. 'At 9 in 6,' she always says.' You say, 'Who is Princess Lenya Thex?' Marlin Shirtov says 'What was that about Princess Lenya? You know her? I feel sorry for her. I wish I had the courage to help her. I made the key for her special shackles. Maybe you can rescue her. Tell you what, I have always wanted to venture to Qeynos to buy a silk evening tunic for Mistress Anna. You go and get me it and I shall give you the key to Princess Lenya's shackles.' Go to South Qeynos and buy "Silk Evening Tunic" from Iana Lenard. Iala Lenard says 'Welcome to my humble establishment! I specialize in cloth, but lately I have begun to dabble in silk, the finest material I have ever used.' Return to Highpass Hold and give Marlin Shirtov the "Silk Evening Tunic": Marlin Shirtov says 'Ahh!! The silk evening tunic. Mistress Anna will look stunning in this. Here is the key to Princess Lenya's cell. Good luck, hero!' Your faction standing with Merchants of Highpass got better. Your faction standing with Highpass Guards got better. Your faction standing with Carson McCabe got better. You gain experience!! You receive a "Brass Key". Find "a royal fish" in Lake Rathetear: You say, 'Hail, a royal fish' a royal fish flutters about and seems to be staring back at you as if reading and understanding your thoughts!! Give the "Fish Food" to "a royal fish": a royal fish gladly gulps up your odd mixture and transforms into..!! Your faction standing with Clerics of Tunare got better. Your faction standing with King Tearis Thex got better. Your faction standing with Anti-Mage got better. You gain experience!! Princess Lenya Thex shouts 'I am free.. a royal fish changes into a beautiful princess!! The princess spawns in place of the royal fish. The "a royal fish" also respawns nearby a few seconds later. You say, 'Hail, Princess Lenya Thex' Princess Lenya Thex says 'I am rescued from the hands of the Teir'Dal! I am grateful. Show me your [proof of allegiance] along with a key to remove these [dark shackles] and I shall reward thee.' You say, 'What proof of allegiance?' Princess Lenya Thex says 'When I speak of proof of allegiance, I speak of proof you were sent by one of the [Silent Watch].' You say, 'What dark shackles?' Princess Lenya Thex says 'My Teir'Dal captors have placed magical shackles upon me. The shackles prevent me from using my magic to transport myself home nor do they allow me to venture far from Lake Rathetear. I will require special shackle keys from Highkeep.' You say, 'What Silent Watch?' Princess Lenya Thex says 'The Silent Watch are the Royal Family's guardians. If you run into one, maybe he'll teach you a lesson or two!' Give the princess the "Brass Key" and "Tearon's Bracer": Princess Lenya Thex says 'I will require both the shackle key for the [dark shackles] and some [proof of allegiance].' Princess Lenya Thex says 'You have saved me!! ______, you are my hero!! Take my amulet and the royal suite key to Tearon in Highkeep. Help put his soul at ease and he shall reward you. Now I must go.. I am sorry I cannot transport you as well, but my powers are weak from much swimming. Farewell, brave soul!' Your faction standing with Clerics of Tunare got better. Your faction standing with King Tearis Thex got better. Your faction standing with Anti-Mage got better. You gain experience!! You receive a Royal Thex Amulet. Return to Highkeep and find Tearon Bleanix. NOTE: You will be turning in the key used to open the door here, so you may want to step out into the hallway while the trade window is still open so that you are not stuck in the room once the turnin is complete. Give him the "Highkeep Royal Suite" (key) and the "Royal Thex Amulet": Tearon Bleanix says 'Royal am..amulet and the key to this room.. Then I will be in peace.' Tearon Bleanix says 'Peace.. I can rest now. You now hold my Silent Watch Shield. Protect Felwithe..' Your faction standing with Clerics of Tunare got better. Your faction standing with King Tearis Thex got better. Your faction standing with Anti-Mage got better. You gain experience!! You receive a Silent Watch Shield. My test ranger foolished killed the royal fish several years ago and is now hated by the entire race.

I got the lottery ticket from the guy in east freeport... gave it to treasurer Lynn... and she said she had no use for it.... I dont get it. is there a different npc that takes the lottery ticket for exp?

I have not been able to figure out Tolon's new text either. I'm not sure if it is a revamping of the old quest or if a new quest is in place. I can not get him to go on further about doing the quest or who Kaya Rishareth is. Lt. Rosaed also has new text now, and I am also stuck there. He refers to a Jenna and Kira at the Crow's Tavern in Qeynos.

The article above metioned "a silk evening gown found in Qeynos",where can i find it ? My EQ is a Chinese version,so it's hard to find one thing just with its English name. Qeynos is a big city with many npcs. :(
There is a female vendor in South Qeynos, in front of the Lion's Mane Tavern that has the gown.
I have been working on this quest, and there were some things that were not clear, so here is a lil more helpful info for those of you who are low level and doing this. First off, I took my Pali to WFP and did the muffin quest until I was kindly, this took 32 stacks to do, but it was worth it. At that time I cked in Felwithe about my faction with Tynkale, I did NOT kill the mob in Innothule swamp. okies, last night I spent HOURS looking for that Tolon Nurbyt, you know what? You do not have to find him!!! I decided to go directly to the chickie poo in HHK to turn in my lottery ticket, and I got the key. Went and did everything, and thankfully Rochelle Francis on the Karana server was sooooo nice to have died to help me out by killing that nasty necro DE. (I did get her a rezz for her trouble, and promised if she ever needed anything to let me know!)
This quest is not that bad or long, and in fact next time I do this to help out a guildmate, I bet we get this sucker done in no time. Only thing that could take a while is if we can not buy the sands or Ro or the fairy dust. (Rochelle had the sands of Ro on her and so kindly gave it to me!! ) I had my Ranger kill the fairy's for the fairy dust. I will post later once I take the dress to Marlin and actually hunt down the "Royal Fish", but all in all this quest has sooo not been bad:)

I finished this quest last night, with the help of 45 druid and 40 wizard. Did not really have to have the wizard, he came along as a friend just in case we ran into something bad. Anyway here is what I can tell you as of 2/19/02.
1. The quest does work.
2. If you can say the like, "all is not bright above the clouds" and get tearon's bracer than you have enough faction to complete the quest. (otherwise see previous post on faction raising)
3. Have Endure magic, all the magic sv gear you have on, and a buddy or two to take down Tyrana, mostly because she will fear you and run to guard. Have a druid or ranger harmonize the guard by her then pull her to room #5 on eq atlas map.
4. Have ALL items readily available for transfer to the royal fish and then the princess.
Ok, the hard/weird part of finding fish and princess:
5. As noted in other posts, our druid tracked and found the royal fish in the cove just west of the SK zone. It was repeatedly swimming up the mountain wall (west side) and reappearing about 10 feet from wall, then swimming right up the wall again. It seemed to be stuck in a cycle doing this. I just watched, got between the wall and where the fish kept cycling to and gave it the fish food.
6. At this point i got messages and caught a brief glimpse of someone swimming away, directly EAST from the fish. I quickly lost sight, but my druid friend was all over it. The princess was swimming fairly quickly away from where the royal fish was, again going EAST. I was able to catch her in the water and give her the items. I got the amulet and went to Tearon's to get the shield.
7. Have wizard/druid go into room with you, when you turn in key to tearon the door locks and you can not get out, so you need a port out.
NOTE: When in the lake I was able to catch up with the princess easily while I had Enduring Breath AND I was in Wolf Form with Levitation on. This might be overkill, but I did not want to screw this up.

You don't mention Jojungua - 8 hours no spawn, do I *really* need to do this portion of the quest, or can I skip to the lotto ticket?
You can skip this part. It really only helps with the faction needed for the quest. That can be achieved by doing the Bone Chip quest in Felwithe.

As an Erudite Paladin of Prexus, I did the bonechip quest in order to raise my temple faction. High Amiable is all you need. It took me approximately 36 stacks of bone chips and three or so of the scrolls from Crushbone to get the faction needed.
I lucked out on this quest - some high level was on a power-XP sweep through the dungeon, and she'd killed (but not looted) the dark elf in Highpass.
With the help of a 24 Druid buddy, I was able to find the fish with a little Lev and SoW plus her Track. Just a little word of advice: if you go about language-teaching while making the long run to Lake Rathetear, be sure to switch back to Common before you hail the Princess...

I just did the royal fish part last night. First of it took me over 3 hours to find the fish even with the help of 2 druids trackin, we had to go kill a whole bunch of "a fish" to apparently get it to spawn. We finally found it swimming a cycle across the norther part of the zone where i stopped it by the gnoll area and gave it the fish food. I got the fish transforms message and hear Thex say im free and motioned me to shore but never saw her at all. Petitioned to GM and he said he would report a bug thats it, didnt even get my fish food back so now i gotta go running around again.

I finished this quest this weekend and it seems not to follow the guidelines others have written. 1)First of all, the royal Fish was stuck in the cove north of the Arena. This was a help, once I found that out. I used a ranger to track its location. Just target the fish and give the food.
2) The Princess swims circuits around the lake and doesn't stay on land. The island mentioned in one of the other posts is the only place I saw her hit dry land, but she just ran across it. She is not as fast as a 85plus swimmer! although having SoW doesn't hurt. I waited on that island for her, when I knew she was near the cove where the Royal Fish was I clicked on a Sow potion. Targeted her before she hit the island and kept up with her for the transfer of items.
3) BIG NOTE: The Royal Fish and Princess Lenya can be BOTH up at the same time. Our marathon swimming Princess Lenya is doing laps around the lake and maybe out of tracking range of a ranger or druid. Stay put on the island and handoff to her in full swim.

OK I thought ro armor quests were nuts with all that faction you need but this one makes em look easy. Fairy dust seems to be ultra rare drop when I want it, off all levels of them in gfay and lfay. Sands of ro, like the fairy dust, would be better put to use making ronium. That dark elf in highkeep is definitly bring a friend material, if she's not green she'll fear you and if she follows you it's right into a guard who will join in. Getting they key from marlin was actually the only easy part since chatting with anna makes him spawn and handing him a tunic gets you a key (although I couldn't get anything from him by chatting and had to rely on spoiler site info to know this part.) Faction needed is with the paladins in felwithe and you need a high amiable to get the key phrase from Tynkale AND to get the bracer from Tearon. That little fishie swims FAST, bring a tracker friend (but warn them that you want to find the royal fish to hand items to, NOT TO KILL IT like my ranger bud did the first time we found it.)
So mister royal fish takes the fish food and then I see princess lenya say something about follow her to land only she's not around ANYWHERE and then the fish despawns, respawns and swims off. We chase the fish down only it's not near land, not near the island mentioned below, and there is no princess lenya anywhere in lake rathe. So servers are coming down in 30min and out of frustration I hand the royal fish my bracer and brass shackle key which he proceeds to eat as if I just handed him junk (figured the fish was talking as princess lenya so maybe I could hand the fish the items.) Now I'm out 3 rare fairy dust, a sands of ro, a silk evening tunic and a HUGE ranger favor and have nothing to show for it since no GMs showed up before the servers came down... I wouldn't suggest trying this quest unless these items are of trivial value to you and you have a tracker friend and there are GMs online to petition when you can't get the royal fish/princess lenya thing to work.

i just got the amulet tonight, the first time i gave the royal fish the food i was near the cliff at the arena. Got the faction and she screamed "i'm free, blah blah blah" but however becasue she was near the wall she suicided (said Princess Lenya Thex tries to slash her self but misses). so i did /petition and talked to a Guide, they basicly said they didn't know anything about the quest and said i would have to talk to the head gm. Well i figure what the heck, i'll try the quest again, so i get another thing of fish food, fish was in same spot (don't think it despawned), however, i gave to food to the fish while it was out in open water, the High Elf princess spawned and started swiming off. i hailed her, and stoped her long enought to give her the stuff and be on my way. BTW, i did it with my Erudite pally alt.

"A fish" is the placeholder for "a royal fish". Killing the fish spawns the royal fish.
The royal fish spawns in the lagoon in the northwest corner of Lake Rathe. When I gave the royal fish the fish food, the Princess spawned, seemed to disappear, then became visible again within a few seconds and swam all the way to the docks near the Rathe Mountain zone in the northeast corner of the Lake Rathe zone. I don't think she suicides as so many claim, rather she disappears briefly as she begins swimming away.
Anyway, awesome Paladin back item with unbeatable stats.

I got it tonight and i ran into the fish on tunare sever at the small island near arena and it keep running into the island then respwaning away from it an running into it again but i timed it right and got to items to it then the priness spwaned and if u hail her fast then hurry up like me u don't even have to run after her. Finally finished the quest and got my shield. Works great on back, but you cannot bash with it there.
The first time I sat in Lake Rathe with a druid friend for 5 hours. The royal fish finally spawned (just south of NW inlet, near shore), I gave it the fish food, the princess spawned and immediately commited suicide. I took no faction hit, but lost my fish food. GM would not help. Screen shot was not good enough evidence, only a /Report would do and I did not get one.
Second time royal fish were already up (stuck in loop swimming toward the tiny island near arena). Gave it the food, princess spawned, the rest went perfectly.

They keep talking about giving a key with the bracer to the princess and a key with the amulet to Tearon but i only have the key u get from marlin and the lottery ticket key and was wondering which key goes to which or did i miss one because if i use the lottery ticket key i can get out of the locked room????

hehe, i called mistress anna a "highpass hussy" and she attacked me, so i didnt want to loose faction so i ran out of her room and HK guards aggroed me. I thought it was pretty damn funny
BTW, i got the shield, its nice for back slot. Faction with felwithe was my worst problem, So i handed in muffins to Pandos Flintstine or something In East FP. Faction went right up

I did all the steps up to giving the damned fish the food. I gave the food after getting winks from the fish, she said 3 lines, Im free, follow me something, and the killing someone of the royal family. Now if this directed at me I do not know. Anyway she didnt pop and I never saw her. I swam to the two nearest islands to see if she was standing there and nada. Now here is some info that may help me and others. Someone in my guild did this quest and I asked him what was his faction throughout. He said that he had warmly faction. Now I got all the other items for the quest with kindly faction and the Royal fish did con kindly. my guildmate said for the Princess to pop,I'll need warmly faction when handing in the fish food. It may suck, but Im going back to Felwithe and start handing in more bone chips to raise faction. Maybe Nurbryte sisters and illegible scrolls too. When I get the higher faction gonna try it again. Not too bad considering I have all the other pieces to quest.

Well I have all the parts now and am up to the royal fish part. Been camping in the NW corner and have noticed a few things that MAY help someone. I have seen a goblin net masters pet swim in and go up the wall and despawn. About 30 mins later an aqua goblin came in and I attacked it thinking it was a PH. I hit it several times, then it despawned. I didnt get a message saying I had killed it, or a messages saying I stopped attacking. I also camped near the hermit as someone suggested and saw an aqua goblin get stuck on the wall in the same manner they described the fish doing. If I find anything out more deffinate I'll post it.

i just fed the fish this past weekend to spawn the princess, but guess what,i dont have a shield yet. for some reason when i fed the fish, the fish disappeared, the princess said a few lines and then i was staring at the fish again. i never saw the princess and the ranger with me never had her on track. i swam all over the lake lookin for that stupid girl with no luck. now i gotta go kill the damn sk again and make more food. what the heck happened to the princess? im tempted to just keep my bronze splinted cloak and just say the hell with the quest....

Hello fellow Paladins,
Got my shield last night and have some good information that should help.
1. I attempted to get bracer from Tearon as soon as I was able to get JoJo quest from Tandan. Tearon didn't give me the bracer so I went back and gave about 10 more stacks of bone chips to Bronzeleaf. Was then able to get bracer from Tearon with only conning Amiable.

Got my shield last night and have some good information that should help.
1. I attempted to get bracer from Tearon as soon as I was able to get JoJo quest from Tandan. Tearon didn't give me the bracer so I went back and gave about 10 more stacks of bone chips to Bronzeleaf. Was then able to get bracer from Tearon with only conning Amiable.

Well I just finished this quest last night, and I can confirm at least the pathing of Princess Lenya is still buggy. I was able to find the fish (in the alcove of the lake in the NW corner), hail it, and feed it the food. Princess Lenya then popped correctly, said thanks, and told me to follow her to shore. Here's the buggy part...she kept swimming all the way across the lake to just south of the Barbarian camp. She then started CLIMING THE MOUNTAINSIDE! I lost her for a bit because I guess I am not as good at freeclimbing as she is ;-) Boy I as getting panicked then I finally saw her again, right at the top of the mountain where she got out of the water. She was STILL walking, hadn't stopped, but the edge of the zone was clearly preventing her from continuing in the direction she had chosen. After spinning her wheels on the zone edge for a bit, she would fall back down to the water and begin climing again.
Well I was able to slowly climb to the top of the mountainside where she was getting stuck and hand her the bracer and key, successfully! So if get to this part, bring someone to belay you :-)
Side note: a guild mate of mine tried this quest only TWO WEEKS ago and was NOT successful. Well I was able to slowly climb to the top of the mountainside where she was getting stuck and hand her the bracer and key, successfully! So if get to this part, bring someone to belay you :-)

yes there is a royal fish in corner of lake rath that came up on track this against the wall in the corner north of the arena. hits for up to 31 non agro and gives some odd white text if you attack it. I left fearing faction hits half way and it slashed itself when i left the area of the wall. It must be tied to that spot for some thing. its medium sized fish and was half way down. Hope this helps

OK, I have all of the items, and am in Lake Rathear. I am still waiting for the "Royal Fish" to make an appearance, but have had no luck so far. I even have had a few Rangers try tracking, but to no avail. I am under the impression that the fish will be in the Northwest quadrant of the Lake, between the Arena dock and the lagoon with the two guards. If I am in the wrong spot, PLEASE tell me!!!

I've read a lot on the faction being kindly but had no problem getting the bracer from Tearon. All thats left for me is to give out the fish food and get the amulet think maybe has to do with being a Paladin of Tunare? I'm amiable to Anti-mage.

I can CONFIRM that you DO NOT need kindly faction with Anti-mage for Tearon to give you the bracer. You DO need what I can best describe as "high" amiable faction, though.

I talked to leiutenant Ros____(something) and he asks if you are a defender of Felwithe. i said yes and he said there was terrible development or something, and i asked him about it. he said that a princess had disapeared, and i should talk to a guy named Tolon Nurbyte, who was suspicious looking and seen wandering around felwithe. i never found him. this quest thingy says that you talk to tynkale, doesnt say anything about leitenant Ros-something. is this the same quest?
Will me, a 46 Paladin with a Soulfire and extremely KoS in FP be able to do this quest?
If i will not be able to do the Lottery Ticket part, should i try to raise faction with FP or just do Aegis of Life quest?
Is this quest still bugged?
Are there any other better paladin cloaks at level 46 that are either-easier to obtain or cost less than 5kpp?

If you are KOS in EFP, it will be hard but not impossible to do this. I would still recommend it over the Aegis of Life, as I hate camping rare spawns, where this you can do at your leisure.
This will be much easier with the help of a druid, because you will need their buffs. Come into EFP from the WFP zone, with invis up. I would make sure you have every bag in your inventory filled with orc picks, so you only have to do this one time. STR and SOW will help, cause carrying 40 or more picks will have you VERY encumbered (just hit every merchant you can in the local FP area, you will have no trouble getting picks, or create a mule to hit the merchants in EFP and WFP where you are KOS). You should be able to get into the Hallard's Resales and give the picks to Tohsan Hallard without aggroing the wandering corrupt militia. Just stand as far away from the wall that borders their pathing as you can, and still be able to hand Hallard the picks. I don't remember which was the winning ticket, but another poster said it was 16568. Just to be safe, I would use up the rest of the picks even after you get 16568. Then, invis back up or just make a mad dash for the zone.
As to the other question, there are comparable cloaks that can be bought. Spider Fur Cloak has 10 AC 4 STA 4 STR 6 SvC, and sells for 1-2k on my server. However, I prefer the WIS on this, as my base WIS is pathetic.

Ok you can put a +10 AC +10 Wis. item on your back? now that is one nice pally cloak =). I ma not sure if this works but I have heard you can bash with this on your back, and that means bash and have a 2handed sword, man I wish there was a +10ac +10Int. shield I could throw on the back of my SK
No, you can not bash with the shield when it is equipped in your back slot.

Princess Leyna Does indeed suicide. I have had it happen twice. Death message and Faction hit message and Druid does not pick her up on Track. I am having a problem figuring out how to overcome the Suicide Pathing bug. We have tried to take Royal fish to bottom and root it. This did not work - The fish never took the food. I have no Idea why - Both other times I have tried giving the food it worked only to have Princess Suicide directly up on shore. Any help would be greatly appreciated. BTW I was grouped with the person who Rooted the Fishy. Dont know if this makes a Diff but maybe.

Anytime an NPC is attacked, they will go into a sort of "battle mode" and will not take items given to them. Since the fish was rooted, and therefore attacked, she went into this non-receptive state.

This guy spawns on an island with the tree that looks like a hand. Sitting in the hand is a necro merchant. In northern Inuthule. I have seen him twice and killed him once. At 30 he tells green but gave a decent fight although i was practicing peircing when i fought him. I was there helping a druid get the alligator skin. We killed everything on that island that we could for about 3 hours before he spawned and i killed him only because he aggroed me. Im going to get this item for the wisdom alone ;) happy smithing

OK, Quest Finally Complete!
1)Get faction to Kindly with Anti-mage. You can give bone chips to Yeolarn Bronzeleaf, Illegible scrolls to General Jyleel, of do the Nybright sisters quest all in Felwithe(muffins raises faction with clerics of tunare, not anti-mage).
2)Get 3 fairy dusts from lfay or gfay.(any fairy drops them, guards and maidens most though)
3)Get sands of Ro(dropped from sand giants)
4)Turn in 4 orc picks at a time to Hallard, at hallard's resale in East Freeport to get lotto ticket #16568
5)Turn lotto ticket 16568 in to Casino Treasurer Lynn in HHKeep, look left after jumping the bank counter. She gives you the royal suite key.
6)Kill Tyranna Slyl on the fourth floor of HHKeep, she will wander and be alone, the guard leaves. Get the fish food container she drops.
7)Combine 3 fairy dusts and a sands of Ro in the fish food container to create fish food.
8)Open the door to Tearon Bleanix's room on the 3rd floor of HHKeep with the royal suite key. Tell him, "all is not bright above the clouds" He will give you the bracer.
9)Run to quenos and buy a silk evening TUNIC from the merchant in the tent just outside the lion's mane.
10)Give the silk evening tunic to Marlin Shirtov on the 2nd floor of the Golden Rooster in HH.(there is a lv 25 SK who spawns in the room next to him). Marlin will give you the brass shackle key.
11)You have collected all pieces, so run to Lake Rathe and find the Royal Fish. I found the fish just under the dock at where the aviaks spawn, doing a cycle there. Give the royal fish the fish food and Princess Lenya will pop. He's the kicker!! She does not suicide, she swims to an island. She will swim to an island at loc 1450, 2100, just east of the arena. She will wait there on land so you can simply give her tearon's bracer and the brass shackle key. She then gives you the amulet of thex!!!
12)Return to HHKeep and Tearon Bleanix, open the door with the royal suite key, put the amulet in the trade window, back into the hall, place the royal suite key in the trade window and hit trade(otherwise you will get stuck).

Does he give you the key back then? I assume this little dance is to avoid getting trapped in a locked room, but seeing as you've backed out into the hall, why do you have to give him the key? Tell me what I'm missing :)

This spoiler is great.. very well done. Just one little addition I would suggest.. Marlin will spawn AFTER you talk to Mistress Anna (the Highpass hussy), he doesn't just spawn on his own. So add a line in there chatting with Mistress Anna.. THEN go and find Marlin and give him the tunic. BTW he is in the last room on the left on the second floor. The second to last room on the left holds that pesky SK and his pet.

For such a decent story, this quest is plagued with poor design and loaded with bugs.
1. You will need Kindly faction with the Clerics of Tunare to get all the NPCs to talk to you and hand over required items.
2. Most, if not all items obtained through the quest are NO DROP.
3. Jojongua appears to have a spawn rate similar to Nagafen or Vox and Tynkale will not tell you the key phrase to say to Tolon Nurbyte unless you finish this part of the quest. Without utilizing a spoiler site such as this you are in for an incredible wait.
4. If you don't do the Jojongua part of the quest, Tolon Nurbyte may not spawn at all. I skipped the kobold "evercamp" and never once saw Tolon in Highpass despite asking every NPC I could find. Tolon is most likely the source of the information that you need a lottery ticket to get into the Royal Suite to find Tearon.
5. Getting the lottery involves massive monotony. Run to EC, buy all the orc pawn picks off the merchants you can without being so encumbered you can't walk. Crawl back to East Freeport and hand in to Tohsan Hallard. Do this for about 10-15 hours real time. After handing in anywhere from 100-300 pawn picks you should have your winning ticket. 14001, 14350, 15600, 15601, 15602, and 16568 are all the ticket numbers. 16568 is the winner. 15600 is the runner up.
6. Tyrana Slil is surrounded by Highpass Guards that will assist her. She will walk back and forth between 2 rooms in the secret area behind the painting. One has a guard in it. Wait for her to go to the other one and root her in place. If she doesn't move she won't be in range of the guards to agro them.
7. Marlin definitely spawns after 10pm and is triggered by talking with Mistress Anna. I attempted to trigger him at roughly 8am and it didn't work. There is a merchant in room 6 during the off hours. There is a dark elf shadow knight in room 5. If you don't open his door he will not come out.

She changed to the princess, spoke a couple lines of text, and then was a fish again, all in the space of about 1/3rd of 1 second. Hmmm. Sorta makes it difficult to hand her items, doesn't it?

The dark elf that Mistress Anna wants you to kill is Tyrana Slil. She's usually in the area past the false wall with the painting.

Does anyone realize that at the level you need to do this quest(around 35), you are getting at minimum of 7 mana per WIS. That translates to 70 extra mana! I don't know many items that give that much mana. An awesome deal if you add the 10ac and A GLS to your back(no more lightstones)

How utterly wrong you are, I did this quest solo at 38 and never regretted it for a moment. The 10 ac on it is extremely good for the level required to do the quest, and the wisdom is even better, the kicker though is that its worn on the BACK SLOT, I don't know about you but unless you have say a cloak of flames, cloak of crystalline waters, Aegis of life, or Lodizal shell shield this item is godly for the level required to do the quest. The only annoying part of the quest is the orc pawn picks but I managed to get it with only 12 picks.

Folks, I'm seriously peeved at this point. To date I have turned in over 420 orc picks and still have not received the correct ticket. Can this part of the quest be done before the others? I have tried holding the other tickets as well as trashing them. Still no luck, please help!

Holy Crap! I hold the record! 700 plus picks but I got the damn thing, not because I want the shield now but because I was not gonna give up. Looking for the Necro in HHK now. I couldn't get the Mistress to speak to me about the Princess either. Oh well.

My only suggestion is to keep at it...I had to turn in over 340 of them in order to get mine...you can do many of the parts out of sequence..I had my fish food well before i got my picks, so order doesnt matter...Unfortunately you have been just unlucky =(

I don't know about the other servers, but on Sulon, this quest is currently broken. Giving any lotto ticket to the treasurer will earn you the "I don't know what to do with this, but thanks" message.

the key is you have to start the quest at the beginning and talk to all the NPCs. i did this quest 4 times. 1rst time the princess did spawn but i lost her in the dark water( heh im a human) 2nd and 3rd time the despawning happened, i did this quest at lvl 27 and had to hire an assassin for the DE 4 times, buy sands or ro, etc...4th time i was figuring well it worked the first time, so i restarted at the top (didnt do jojongua quest, although that was ok) you can also start by talking to the lutenient in Felwithe.(hes on the upper ledge to the left as you go across the bridge and the passage to get there is in the basement of the Paladin guild) and when i got to the royal fish, BINGO! she spawned and stayed...i didnt waste time to let her swim now..just gave her the 2 items(key and bracer i think it was) and she gave me the other item i needed besides the HK key, a locket if i remember right. turned them in(opened the door with the key, handed the key to the skeleton paladin, steped outside the doorway so i wouldnt get locked in and then handed the locket in the trade window) and now i have a 10 ac 10 wis shield i carry on my back (alot better than what i had before Black Cape ac6 magic)

Order doesnt matter...I did it without talking to all the npc's, (i skipped the lieutennant) and did it out of order. (had the fish food before my lottery ticket)

I have completed the lottery portion of the quest.
This was relatively easy for me. (Got the winning ticket)
Killed Goblins to raise my faction with Highkeep just to be sure for turning in the lottery ticket. (Got the key to the royal suite)
I never got Tolon Nurbyte to spawn ... skipped that part. (but didn't want to)
Went to Qeynos to buy the silk gown. I bought a silk tunic for 6pp close to the docks. I think this is what I needed.
I fed 640 muffins to Pandos so Tearon would give me the bracer. I don't know if I had to feed that many, I was going for Kindly faction then gave up. (Got the Bracer)
Talked to mistress Anna.
Solo'd Tylani as a 35 PAL and got the fish food container. Have an empty inventory slot. (I had to try 3 times ... The Guards helped her kill me)
Made the fish food.
Went to the upstairs of the Rooster Inn. No Marlin to be seen anywhere. Did find a Malik Zuren. He is indiff to me. I gave him the Silk Tunic and got nothing.
What did I do wrong? Please help!!

Talk to mistress Anna, go see Marlin, then come back and kill Tylani. Marlin spawns at 10pm after telling Anna "Where is princess lenya" and "someone else sent me"
Do NOT kill Marlin I went from Warmly to Indifferent with one kill. (So much for 3 levels worth of Goblin Ears) Also, he doesn't leave a corpse, so you can't get the key that way.
Killing Tylana only gives a small faction hit with Highkeep.

You have to "talk" to all the NPCs invovled in the quest, IN Felwithe...start at the beginning other wise when you finally free the princess she goes Poof! and there goes your fish food!

Nothin wrong, he can be found in the last room on the left. I found him there the first time I looked. As far as I can see you did all the steps right.

I got a bud who has 202 in LockPick. Can this be used to bypass the dumb lotto ticket? Also, I must have missed it but how can you tell the winning ticket before traveling to HighHold?

The royal fish is very buggy but i called a GM to watch me hand over the food jsut in case of pathing. I found the fish in the lagoon with the two gaurds at the tower where most eople say they find it. Hiled it so the fish stopped running into the wall and coming back. Then handed food and immediatly targeted Princess lenya Thex and hailed her as well ebfore she sawm off. She stopped i handed her the key and Tearon's bracer and she gave ammulet. Then went to HH and got my shield. She is bugged but you can get around it.

Anyone else have a hard time getting this guy to spawn? I did the rest of the quest so easily (got the winning lotto ticket on the 2nd try) and now i've been camping marlin for about 4 hours with no luck...any tricks to getting him to spawn?

The vendor that is there before 10pm sells a nice Strength of Earth potion (Lore) for around 4 plat. It's in his first inventory slot. Right click it to see it's effects.

The fish can be found in the cove between the Arena and the Gnolls(at the SKzone). The Royal fish will spawn at the middle of the zone by the wall. Sometimes there is a regular fish there. The Royal fish will spawn at this place. It will be under water and hit the wall bouncing up out of the water. Then restart 50 feet from the shore and hit the wall again. It will do this over and over. I tried 3 time to give this Royal fish the food. When you do, it will turn into the Princess and swim off very quickly. So the first two times I lost her. The third time I had some very good friends, a Wizard and a Enchanter cast Ultra vision, Levitate, and endure breath on me. Also a kind Druid at the Arena cast sow on me.Without these I would have failed again! If the royal fish is not there. It will be in 15 mins at the most. I have found it there everytime. just be patient. Now. Feed the fish, when it turns into the Princess, Dont even try to follow her. With the levitate and sow Run to the Rock just off the shore between the Arena and the Barbarians. The Princess will swim to this rock and walk across it. She will not stop even if you hail her. Wait at the rock and follow her into the water from there. While swimming, give her the Bracer and the Brass Key. She will not stop swimming but you will get the Amulet. With the sow cast on me I was just able to keep up with her. so it is important you get a sow also!

I spent 7 hours sitting in the cove looking for the fish with no luck. Didn't even see a placeholder. So either it spawns in a different place than what you describe, or I'm looking in the wrong area. If anyone has a loc where they found the royal fish, I'd appreciate if they post it.

I found her RIGHT outside the entrance to the arena... Truth is, she can be seen anywhere in the NW corner of the zone. I've seen her in the small cove in the NW, Right in front of the arena, near the goblin cave, and yes, just north of the flame island...Bring a ranger with Track and you will find it eventually...It took a really long time for me to find her too, but now i see her all the time...go figure...It is certainly worth the effort tho, keep at it
