General Jyleel (Paladin Guildmaster) is at location 10, -200 in Northern Felwithe.

    You say, 'Hail, General Jyleel'

General Jyleel says 'Stand at attention!! I am General Jyleel, of the Koada'Vie, defenders of Felwithe. Do you [follow Tunare], the Mother of All, or do you still [seek your enlightenment]?'

    You say, 'I follow Tunare.'

General Jyleel says 'Then you are wise indeed. Would you like to [assist the defenders] in our conflicts or have you other business to attend to?'

You say, 'I would like to assist the defenders.'

General Jyleel says 'Seek out the Crushbone orcs of the Faydarks. We must have their oracle scrolls. They are illegible to you, but we will study them here in Felwithe. Only the orc oracles will carry them, so be very careful. There is also the problem with the [Crushbone runners].'

    You say, 'What Crushbone runners?'

General Jyleel says 'The Crushbone orcs are sending messages across the Ocean of Tears to Antonica. Why, we do not know. The runner is usually spotted on the open pathways of Butcherblock, running toward the docks. Find him, kill him, and return his note pouch.'

Head to Butcherblock Mountains near the Greater Faydark zone line. orc runner spawns at the first tree on the right coming from GF (/waypoint -995, -2839, +0.35). His placeholders are orc centurion and orc spawn. He has a 3 mn respawn timer. You may sit to the west of the tree so that the spawning orc will attack you instead of running away.

Kill orc runner to loot a Runner Pouch (common drop) as well as (rare drops) a Sealed Letter.

Head back to Northern Felwithe and hand Generald Jyleel the Runner Pouch.

General Jyleel says 'So, you succeeded in stopping a Crushbone runner! That is good. Now take this as reward. Keep up your fine work. The people of Felwithe are grateful.'

We shall also continue our supply of arcane knowledge to their agent in Freeport. Ambassador D'Vinn Crushbone Region

    Just FYI;

For this quest, my 22 monk got a Potion of
Sustenance. That is without any particularly
high faction with the Paladin guild in Felwithe.

    spawn rate

the spawn rate on this guy is terrable...i've seen him on average 1 per hour and the first time he dropped just the pouch. Nothing else since. All i've seen in the 4 hours i've been here. Maybe you guys have gotten lucky in the past. And if you don't have some good speed, don't bother trying this quest.

hi this guest is very ez for a lvl8 and up enchanter cuz u can root it while casting spells and you can get ur pet to attck it(only if the orc attacks you first then youre pet will kill it)
    Just camp the path
    # Apr 02 2002 at 2:46 PM Rating: Default
The Runner stays on the path, and tries to go all the way to the Docks, but has to get by all the guards. I've seen him get by Crossroads, and the next Guardhouse, if the guards happen to be on the wrong side. The 3 Guards at Crossroads usually get him.
You'll never catch him without SOW.

BUT, if your faction is so low (Crushbone Faction can't possibly get any worse) if you just stand on the path and wait, he'll stop and attack you.
Happened to me last night while I was at the first two merchant huts (the ones close to GF entrance, without any guards). I was just chatting with another PC, and he started hitting
    me from behind.

I've also seen a Pawn and Orc Centurion running up the paths. I it's a random Spawn, and only the official Runner has the Pouch, but they all Run the same path.

I did this just the other night with my halfling druid. The General gave me a level 44 enchanter spell Pillage Enchantment. Much better than the torch, lantern, iron ration and rusty weapon he has been giving me.

    Where?
    # Jun 28 2001 at 11:57 AM Rating: Default
Does anyone know which entrance to Gfay that the orc runner spawns most frequently?
    RE: Where?
    # Jul 04 2001 at 4:53 AM Rating: Decent
Unfortunately, the date on your post doesn't say what year...and I've been encountering 2000's instead of the current year of 2001 (for those reading this in 2002+) :)

The orc runner (which sometimes spawns as a simple pawn or cent) spawns just inside of BBM from the Gfay entrance (to BBM). He runs around in BBM, not Gfay. As you arrive in BBM from Gfay, there is a large tree just to your right. He spawns right beside it (at a FULL ON almost SOW RUN) heading to the left of your screen. Be ready to shoot it with your bow (or root it). You probably won't get a chance to take a swing at it (and if you are too high for aggro, say good bye).

If the pawn or cent spawns instead, kill it just as quickly and wait 15-20 mins. Another will spawn, guaranteed. If you didn't kill it, and you haven't seen one for a while, it means there is one running around BBM. Just wait patiently, someone (or a guard) will kill it before too long.

I Completed this quest even though i am a Gnome Wizard with the wrong faction. I hailed the General and then just gave him the pouch. He raised my faction a bit and gave me a one charge potion of sustinence.

You can also bring the pouch to Dill Fireshine in Kelethin for faction, XP and a bit of cash, if I remember correctly .. I did it a few times while waiting for Corflunk and Zarchoomi to spawn.

You remember correctly. I also received a leather skullcap for the pouch and a long bow for the sealed letter.
