Great Sky Ocean says, 'Good! I am glad you are still willing. I will send you to Esianti whenever you are ready [to go].'

You have been assigned the task 'Contract of War'.

You have entered Esianti: Palace of the Winds.

It ports you to the building in the south part of the zone with all the norrathians.




1. Find and defeat whomever is palace guardian today and acquire a writ to see the king. 0/1 Esianti: Palace of the Winds

Task Window: Great Sky Ocean has told you that there must be a second contract sanctioning the war between the djinn and efreeti, and that Moon Serf of Harmonious Heavens must have it. She also mentioned that she does not trust the new king, and others in Esianti do not either. Despite having a write for Esianti, you do not believe the locals will appreciate your arrival. Find and take the contract and return it to Great Sky Ocean.

You will have to draw out the palace guardian. There are three beings that currently serve that position, and one of them must have a writ to speak with the king.

3 red cons and one of them will drop the Writ of Access - King in Esianti. Order will not always been the same every task.

Named are:
Feather Silver Sheen - Casts Gouging Strike (Single Target, Unresistable, 155,105 dmg per tick dot (4 ticks))
Radiant Fog Evening - Casts Suffocating Breeze (Single Target, Unresistable, 88,888 dmg per tick dot (4 ticks), curse counters 25. DT if not cured before dot wears off?)
Sunshine Sensible Warmth - Casts Crippling Knives (Single Target, Unresistable, 135,145 dmg nuke, decrease mana 4500, decrease movement by 85%), also
Casts Lashing Blades (Directional AE 250', Unresistable, 116,126 dmg per tick (4 ticks), 135,135 dmg nuke)

- The first named is by the bridge and the two adds can be pulled and killed first.
- The second is on the hill solo.
- The third is by the entryway and has two adds that can be pulled and killed first.

NOTE - Not a step but you should pre-clear the landing before the door and the two guards at the door. Before using the Writ on the door which will start the spawning of the Mephits.



2. Speak with the king about the war. 0/1 Esianti: Palace of the Winds

Task Window: You will have to enter the chamber the king is currently using for meetings and hope the contract is there. If not, you will have to speak with the king and see if you can gain some traction in convincing him to stop the war himself.

With the writ in your inventory, click on the Moon Serf of Harmonious Heavens door (from the entrance looking north the 1st two level one BLUE DOOR). Make sure to kill the guards at the blue door before you kill the last boss. Also, kill the mephits after the 3rd mini-boss dies. When they are dead, say 'do you know who will follow' to Moon Serf of Harmonious Heavens on one of the platforms.


3. Open the Chest. 0/1 Esianti: Palace of the Winds

Although it's not a step, it is required. The door will not open unless the 2 guards and all mephits are dead.

Also, opening the door with the writ on your cursor does not work, the one who looted the writ just clicks the door with it in their inventory.

And, the mephits do not spawn when the door is clicked, they spawn immediately after the 3rd mini-boss dies, so it's best to kill the guards at the blue door before you kill the last boss.

So, some stuff to know. First named, kill the two adds at the bridge and then the named. The named will warp and reset so kill it where it stands. Second named, there is a mephit that roams right to it. Kill that first. Helps to know the DoT it casts has a DeathTouch if not cured. So, don't try and heal through it like normal, or you die. Gotta cure that DoT. Third mob, clear all the mobs inside where it is and clear a few mobs off the far right room. On the second floor is the locked door. Kill the third named with all the trash cleared. The mob off to the right will start spawning mephit adds from where it is. You should have the third named dead with only two add mephitis at the most. Can mez them or whatever. Kill the spawning memphits, move to the locked door and keep killing any mephitis that spawn as you go. Go inside and say the phrase to the mob and done. Mephits keep coming non-stop until you leave the task so be ready to kill the spawns until loot is done and you leave.

On each of these named, does it have different names every time you run this task? If not, what are the names of these named and what are the names of the spells they cast?

The names are the same. The first mob is Sunshine Sensible Warmth. Those spells are already listed under the mob name link on this page. The second name is Radiant Fog Evening. The spell with the DeathTouch is listed in this thread from Reneca. I think it casts a second spell, but I can't say anything about it. The third mob is Feather Silver Sheen. That spell is also listed on the mobs link on this page. I'm not sure if it casts only one spell, but it was the easiest of the three to kill. They all seem to be directional so if people get in back of the mobs, you are pretty much safe. 1st mob for sure, 3rd mob for sure, not 100% sure of that on 2nd mob.

Edit, the names are the same but the line up is different. The can be in any order. The bird mob spawns 1 add.

Tell Great Sky Ocean "Mission" to get and "to go" to zone in.

1) Find and defeat whomever is palace guardian today and aquire a writ to see the king.
Kill the three red con mobs in zone. One of them have Writ of Access - King in Esianti.
* Which 3 mobs is random. If you get "Radiant Fog Evening" it casts <Suffocating Breeze>. 25 Curse counters - 52K dot per tick - plus a DT if not cured in time

2) Speak to the king about war.
Say 'Do you know who will follow you' to the king - 'Moon Serf of Harmonious Heavens', he's on one of the platforms.

3) Done. Now you can get the next shared task from Great Sky Ocean.
