You say, 'Hail, Ami'

Ami flips through a few pages of a small book, reading intently before answering you. 'Ye scurvy dog. I'll strike yer colors 'fore ya can put me on a gibbet. Take that, ya crimp!' She flips through a few more pages then smiles at you. 'Arrrr!'

You say, 'Ye scurvy dog!'

Ami grins. 'Hey, that's pretty good. You did it without a book too. Nice to meet you. I'm the bosun here.'

You say, 'You're a Bosun?'

Ami says 'Yup. I think it means I'm in charge of the flag cause that's what the Cap'n told me to take care of. I'm the one who made our symbol, so I get to protect it. I even got my own copy of the grammar manual so I can practice my pirate speech.'

You say, 'What kind of grammar manual?'

Ami nods and shows you the book for a moment. 'We don't have many of them and usually we share. My book is missing a chapter, though.'

You say, 'What chapter is missing?'

Ami nods. 'A mate of mine borrowed the P Chapter to draw a map on but then he went and got himself lost. I've memorized the rest of the book but that chapter. Oh, well, I guess I can get by with what I have. Walk the mizenmast and batten down the boom!' She looks at you proudly. 'Good, eh? I'm one of the best pirates we have.'

Find the lost pirate at +6360, +1005.

You say, 'Hail, a lost pirate'

a lost pirate twitches and growls a little. 'Arrr. Grrr. Ahoy, mate. The name's Teep.' He shivers and you notice a little drool at the corner of his mouth. 'Ya ain't lost out here too, are ya?'

You say, 'I am not lost.'

a lost pirate grins and stares through you with a mad gleam in his eye. 'Hehehe. Yah, yer lost aren't ya. I can tell from the crazy sound o' yer voice. Too bad we ain't got me map. The map would lead us straight back ta camp. Yah, that it would, boyo.'

You say, 'What map?'

a lost pirate nods. 'After we got ourselves stuck on this island I got it in me head to draw up a map so none o' the crew would ever get lost. So I set myself to explorin' and drawin'. Now the map is gone. Too bad, too, cause it was a map o' the whole place, not just the first island, but a bunch o' parts.' Mention of the map seems to have sobered him up a bit.

You say, 'Gone?'

a lost pirate says 'Aye. I lost the first part walkin' through the woods. Some big wolf bowled me over 'n started to tear me book up. 'Fore I could stop, it he ran off. I'm not knowin' why. The second part, heh. That was worse.'

You say, 'What happened to the second part?'

a lost pirate shivers. 'The second piece I lost, well, that put the fear o' Bertox in me. I was still in the woods at the time. It was at night. Cold and crisp, it was. I heard a flappin' and squawkin' above me and I knew my time was near. So I up and jumped into a snow drift. Soon as that, somethin' swooped down where I was and started tearin' my camp up. When I came back, I saw nothin' but feathers and me torn up book. Another quarter o' me book was gone.'

You say, 'What happened to the third part?'

a lost pirate says 'Huh? Oh, the other pieces? I gave a piece to a mate o' mine 'cause he wanted to help. Nice enough fella but he couldn't find north from a hole in the hull. Last I saw he wandered off towards the bridge. The last piece went away after I stumbled and fell down here. After a while I didn't care, so I threw it in the water. It floated off. Seems like everythin' that goes wrong ta me is because of some danged wild animal. I can't quite figger it.'

You say, 'I will find the parts.'

a lost pirate laughs. 'Its yer funeral, boyo. I'm not even sure they're readable. Oh, well. Here, take this. It's the cover of the book I was puttin' the map in. If ya get the first four parts, put em in there. If ya get the fifth, just go give it ta Ami the way ya find it. Hey, if ya find em all, come get me so I can find me way back. I'm thinkin' I'd like ta go back now.'

You say, 'Where is chapter P?'

a lost pirate stares at the water. 'I'm rememberin' that. Yah. Ami's book. Thats what I drew, erm, the fifth part o'n. It got lost in the ocean too.' He looks at you. 'Yer wantin' ta go out and find all o' these pieces?'

You receive a Map Binding, a four-slot container. Find the four parts to the map:

1. The first piece of the map can be looted off of a Dire Wolf Stalker, a rare spawn in Iceclad Ocean.

2. The second piece is looted from Stormfeather - again, a rare spawn in Iceclad.

3. The third piece is found via a mini-quest. Kill Tizmaks in Great Divide until you have four of the NO DROP Yakman Parts. Hand all four parts to Bloodmaw in the same zone. Bloodmaw will despawn after you give him the parts. After this happens, say, 'I want the map please' to the gnome captive. He'll give you the third piece.

4. The fourth piece of the map is found on Lodizal.

Combine the four pieces in your container to craft Pieces of an Iceclad Map give this to the lost pirate:

a lost pirate grins widely and slaps you on the arm. 'Har har! You're crazier than I am. And since I know that I must not be that crazy after all. Ahh, I haven't felt this good in ages..' He shuffles the pieces and jots down a few notes here and there. 'There, now it's really finished. Let's get us outta here. Hold this fer me.' As he starts to try and crawl up the hill, a sleek figure darts towards him.
You gain experience!!

Receive the Completed Map of Iceclad in return.

A rabid snow cougar spawns and attacks. Whether you kill it or not does not seem to matter. Head to Captain Nalot.

You say, 'Hail, Captain Nalot'

Captain Nalot squints at you through one eye, the other covered by a metallic eyepatch. 'Garrr. What `ave we here? Another beller yellied land blubber eh? By the looks of ye someones mudder didnt know when ta throw a bad fish back. HAR HAR!'

You say, 'What do you mean, bad fish?'

Captain Nalot says 'That means I'm callin ya ugly as a piece o' whale blubber but twice as bad smellin, ya son of a water treadin _____. Yer about as smart as the slime we use ta patch our boat hull, aren't ya?'

You say, 'Where is this boat of yours?'

Captain Nalot says 'Arrrr. So we ain't got a boat right now. What's that got ta do with anythin'? Just cause we ain't got a boat, or a way to sail the waters, or even know how ta sail, don't mean we aren't crusty and dangerous. Just watch yerself cause we're mean.'

You say, 'You're mean?'

Captain Nalot says 'Thats right! We're mean, nasty, devious 'n cruel. We'll knock ya down, bite yer knees, and steal yer money. Arrr. We won't always say please and thank you either! Just remember that and don't be tryin' anyhin' funny.'

You say, 'What do you consider funny?'

Captain Nalot says 'Uh, I dunno what funny stuff. No one's ever asked that one. You know, just be nice ta everyone I guess. Think ya can do that?'

You say, 'What about the map?'

Captain Nalot says 'The map? What map? Oh wait, that thing I made ol' what's-his-name do ta get los... uh adventure. Uh, sure. If yer wantin' we've got a job for ya. If ya do it ya get ta be a real member o' me crew.'

You say, 'I want to be a real member of your crew.'

Captain Nalot says 'That means ya get ta take orders from me and ya get ta use fancy words like bilge hoistin' land blubbing beller yellied, and more. Anyways, we needed a map so me lads would stop gettin' lost, but the lad I sent out ain't come back with it. I even sent out a search party but I ain't heard from them either. If ya find 'im get the map and get back 'ere.'

Give the completed map to Captain Nalot.

Captain Nalot squints and then knocks hard on the metal half of his face to get his eye back in adjustment.. 'Arrr. This is perfect. Har! Now we can be plannin' our pillagin' and plunderin' all proper like. Good work, _____!' Captain Nalot slaps you on the back and accidentally drops his eyepatch. Being a proper pirate now you conveniently forget to mention it to him.
You gain experience!!

Receive Eyepatch of Plunder.

I spent 20 hours camping SF for my Rogue, starting 14 hours after a guild mate killed it. Well, when I could stay awake no longer, I gave up on it, with 34 hours having passed and no spawn. Several folks appeared during that 20 hours, and all were most courteous, asking nothing more than a tell when killed, for timer purposes.

Well, I popped back on a few days later, porting into IC and succoring to the docks, and there in front of me was the bad old bird itself. I saw no one in the area, so immediately rooted and dotted, and rooted again. My Rogue in sneak/hide mode, I was chasing the bird which kept breaking the root, until I saw why the root was breaking; I was not alone, as a Necro was already working over the bird. I apologized for my interference, explaining I had not seen the player, and he replied it was not a problem.

After SF died, and he apparently locked the corpse, I sat back, waiting to decide where I was going to go grind. When he moved away from the corpse, I figured he was done, and my Rogue, still in sneak/hide mode, checked the corpse and saw he had not looted the map piece. I backed away immediately, and offered to lock it for him if he needed to log an alt. He stated he was holding for a friend. When the corpse was within 30 seconds of rotting and the friend was unable to get there to loot, the final map piece I needed was offered to my Rogue, and looted. YAYYYYY!!!!!

And so, I am posting to say that the quest is a pain in the butt when you get to the Stormfeather bottleneck, but the end result is well worth it. And also I am posting to say that Nizzen and Gumbiggledigger, on the Ayonae Ro server, are two very generous and good peeps.
I will not forget the debt I owe them.
Boring

Camping him ATM...Boring as hell...its 12:30 Eastern time. Guildies and I are taking shifts to assure we all get it..once we get teh spawn time it wont be so bad....But we started last night after killing lodi again...So since 2:00 am last night. We were in zone at 12 and he wasn't up and a monk that was in zone said he ha dbeen cmaping him 13 hours prior. So I'd say he's been runnnin 25 +/- hours. Only about 10 more to go max...Arg! We have Lodis pop time down pretty good so teh guild gathers when its near time and we kill. At this point we are gonna switch out SF campers to give each other a break lol.

Cougars are boring but HQ pelts and earrings make a lil cash. Plus midnight and Garou pop close enough to track if you're a Ranger. My bard can't track far enough to see Garou but you get the point. Just a lil info if you are wnating to make cash while you do this. The club from teh garou quest sells decent too.

So with cougar claw earrings, HQ skins, Garou quest, And possible pickup lodi groups you make out quite nice while camping this guy.

And if you are a Vah shir the cougars and crap don't aggro either. So thats a afk plus when ya can sit down and crank up the volume while you watch TV or whatever. Sucks doing this on Dialup tho lol
Fifth item?

I did this quest and got the Eyepatch of Plunder now. I also helped a few friends out in getting it as well.

Just one question did anyone you guys notice the gnome talk about a fifth drop?

My friends and I have tried to figure out what this fifth drop is he was talking about. But we are at alost. Anyone else seen that and figured it out? Wish I made a log of the text now. Sorry.

When you turn in the completed map pieces to the lost pirate for the complete map - A rabid snow cougar spawns on top of him. I backed off - it attacked the pirate, who ran. I then killed it. My guess is that it is comprable to Midnight. So don't go into this with no mana, or low health.

Doh, read this post about the rabid cougar a day late. I handed in with a bar of health left and couldn't beat the cougar. I think this detail should be added to the quest info at the top of the page!!! In any case, the rabid cougar does pop whenever you turn in, I can confirm that.

Hey,

Finally i got the last piece of the map from SF, here is what i experienced:

SF is not on 19 hour spawn - circle.
When it dies, it has a chance to respawn in 18-20 hours, but only with some 60-70% of probability. If it did'n spawn then it will in +12 hours but that time it seems for sure. The exact spawning point is just a little in front of and right from the tree where the 3 gnomes is diceing. Very easy to kill, the only problem can be a serious heart attack u get when u see it spawning :-)
( i suddenly forgot where are my spells, which of them is memorized etc :) ).

it took me 81 hours of camping (36 afk) to take him down 2 times (first for a friend, then we stayey to do it for me, and it always showed at the time we expected).
I didnt know about the 12 hours modification, so i was afk when he spawned second time, and couldnt stop laughing when i got home and see myself slained, and browsing the log file :). (my afk message was: Im camping SF, waiting for approach and listening to the noise of its wings. please do not ks me).
now some of my friends saw my corpse and sent a tell, and got this answer....ergh..hehe...

so some advices:

1, start camping it if u surely have 29-33 hours to do it for total success
2, count the possible pop time, and ask some friends to be online and get there at that time, so no ks risk
3, if u can get aggro somehow, (sit close tot he spawning point) and u r ks-ed after it, report to a gm
4, ppl i met were usually friendly, polite etc.
5, it's very very very boring. first, only cougars to kill, no xp, no fun. (seldom ear-slot thing drops but not a big deal). use or time to advance in skills like spellcasting (conjuration), sneak, hide, tradeskills.
6, if you can, ask a friend to camp with you with eg. 6 hours of changing each other. one weekend and u both have the mappiece.
7, lodzi will be killed many times while you r camping sf, and many times they leave the map piece in for free loot, so you can spare some time and efforts by watching and looting the piece from it (of course after they say they dont need it)
8, take huge supplies with you :)
9, cougars dont attack u if u r a ranger or druid, so you can go afk for longer times if you r sure it won't pop
10, set logging to be ON while u camp SF. (/log on)
11, i would have never thought that a bird and a ship looks similar to each other. But at 4.30am in the "morning" they do :-)))

Chunk of meat
# Mar 09 2003 at 11:34 AM Rating: Decent
I just completed the quest today and the meat of Tizmak was called = Yakman Meat.
No need to invis / charm Bloodmaw, just stay at max trade range and it's ok.
When the Bloodmaw is turn in a gnome, say him = I want the map.

FD also works. For example: give him one piece and FD when he attacks. Stand up, give him another, FD. continue process until done. 4th piece he will despawn, just the gnome is left.
RE: Chunk of meat
# Mar 18 2003 at 8:27 AM Rating: Decent
Another option would be to have someone charm Bloodmaw. I helped a friend on Quellious with this last night and it worked flawlessly. I also think Calm Animal spells would work as well, although I am not totally sure. I do know that I charmed Bloodmaw and he was able to do the turn-in just fine and get the map piece. Bloodmaw did despawn with the turn-in and I did lose my pet. Anyways Bloodmaw makes a terrible pet as he will not move from the spot he is in. Hope this helps.

I logged on at 2:35am after work and he was up and no one was in the zone so I killed him and got the map piece. I was so shocked to see him on track that I couldn't remember what spells were in what position so it took me a minute to target him and snare him. I was quite lucky since I couldn't really spend hours and hours camping him. Of course it's better to be lucky than good:)

Will this item stack with the Pally self-haste spell?
RE: Stacking...
# Mar 08 2003 at 6:55 AM Rating: Default
yes this counts as a "bard song" so it will stack with pally haste and other item (worn) haste items.
RE: Stacking...
# Mar 18 2003 at 3:00 AM Rating: Default
this is a spell haste it will NOT stack with other spell hastes I tried every enchanter haste spell and none of them stacked.. item haste does stack.. I didn't try any bard haste songs though
MQ???
# Jan 28 2003 at 12:51 AM Rating: Decent
Is this multiquestable???
RE: MQ???
# Jan 29 2003 at 5:02 AM Rating: Decent
Sadly no all the items to be colected are No Drop and combined in a container then single handed into the quest NPC's.

To own this item you must camp and hunt it, this is why I look at it as a rite of passage.
RE: MQ???
# Mar 27 2003 at 9:21 PM Rating: Excellent
"Sadly"?

If this were Multi-questable, there would be druids and wizards farming it around the clock on all servers to sell the MQ.

THANK GOD it's not MQ'able.
Container
# Jan 26 2003 at 4:02 PM Rating: Decent
What is the wording needed to get the container? I have a guildie that got the pages of the map but forgot what to say to get the box.
RE: Container
# Jan 29 2003 at 4:59 AM Rating: Excellent
to get the container:
/say I will find the parts of the map

and you will have it, it is a 4 small slot book container.

Once you combine you will have a asembled map them give this to the Lost Gnome and he will give you a completed map to give to the captain. A rabid cat will spawn and attack you of him. The cat drops nothing and is not a sub quest from what I can see.

Hand in the completed map to the Captain and you have your eyepatch of plunder.
stormfeather spawn
# Jan 24 2003 at 1:04 AM Rating: Decent
ok i can add my name to the lucky few that has finally gotten this awsome face piece. three of the four pieces are pretty simple except stormfeather. after camping him for 140 hours give or take a few this is what i found out. give up on the 14 hour rule, the 19 hour rule, and the 32 hour rule. I was KSd once with him and then there were server problems on stormhammer and finally i was going to get my last piece and some blue NPC named rage spawned that was red to a 53 ranger. well he spawned in the same spot as stormfeather and packed on hell of a punch. contacted GMs about the new NPC and they had no clue what i was talking about so not sure if it was a ***** up or what but finally after 24 hours past since the NPC rage despawned stormfeather spawned and i can honestly say that the reward of beating that bird to a pulp was almost as good as getting the eyepatch!

Stormfeather spawn data

Repost from beatiary post;
---------------------
Stormfeather

I just completed a multi-patch camping of Stormfeather.
1st spawn 32:19 hours:min post patch
2nd spawn 32:12 hours:min
3rd spawn 19:08 hours:min
4th spawn 31:58 hours:min
~more as I get the data

Spawn location :get loc in a day of so: halfway between the 3 sitting Gnomes and the 3 static cat spawns.

Tips for dealing with KS'ers;
1.) Use /guildstatus and check out their guild site. most have rules of conduct, Be proactive.
2.) Use a see invisable item, keep your eyes out.
3.) Say hello the instant you see the person, be polite and friendly
4.) Don'y proxi camp, if the intended char is not there or your playing it elsewere, don't camp it.
5.) If you there is a risk of this person "dogging" the camp just start chit chatting with them and let slip "must have skipped again" and the like. KS'ers are not known for their ability to site long hours.

Mob data:
Normal snowgriff Hpts and hits (49's -80's). Fearable, snareable and not very resistant to MR and CR spells.

Conclusion;
32 hours is the common spawn time.

---------------------
Dire Wolf Staker

Spawn detail, simple as kill a bunch of wolfs in this area. Wait one hour and it should spawn for you.

Spawn location: get loc in a day of so: next to the dragon skill block, northside.

Mob data:
Normal IC Direwolf Hpts and hits (30's - 45's). Fearable, snareable and not very resistant to MR and CR spells.

---------------------
Lozi

There is a whole section on this.

---------------------
bloodmaw

Simple turn in, if you stand behind him it works just fine.

I started this quest when i got the spawn time on Lodizal. While runnin to loddy camp on day 1, the dire wolf stalker attacked me...1 down. Later that day, Loddy spawned but was KS'd from me and a few friends. Alright, was there the next day...day 2. Group got bored and left a few mins before lodizal spawned...ok day 3; already 2 large groups of people here..asked for looting rights from the smaller group of people in exchange for my assistance. Deal was made, loddy killed, map piece was given to me. Ran off to stormfeather camp, was there for an hour or so when the big birdy spawned. My lucky day! headed to GD, got a friendly bard to charm bloodmaw, handed in the meats...got all the pieces. Turned em in...eyepatch of plunder for all my troubles :P Whole thing took 3 days. G'luck folk

Not sure if this helps anyone, but I began camping him yesterday morning at 9AM, and he popped at 11:45AM the next morning - 26.75 hours.

The previous night (before camp) Lodi was killed at 5:30 PM, and killed again at 7PM the following night. Don't know if he spawned in between. I still need to kill him.

Stalker is cake, don't even sweat him.

spawn rate of Lozi
# Oct 25 2002 at 12:57 PM Rating: Decent
I have a 52 Ranger who wants this item. What is the spawn rate of Lodizal and what lvl is he? What classes are needed to take him down. Also exactly where is this Gmone tree that you speak of for Stornfeather camp?

I have been checking on Lodi for since yesterday. I went there today and no sign of him. Came back 1 hr later and he was already camped. The grp that was camping him would not respond to the question of his spawn time.
So any help would be greatly appreciated. THX
