You say, 'Hail, Ami'

Ami flips through a few pages of a small book, reading intently before answering you. 'Ye scurvy dog. I'll strike yer colors 'fore ya can put me on a gibbet. Take that, ya crimp!' She flips through a few more pages then smiles at you. 'Arrrr!'

You say, 'Ye scurvy dog!'

Ami grins. 'Hey, that's pretty good. You did it without a book too. Nice to meet you. I'm the bosun here.'

You say, 'You're a Bosun?'

Ami says 'Yup. I think it means I'm in charge of the flag cause that's what the Cap'n told me to take care of. I'm the one who made our symbol, so I get to protect it. I even got my own copy of the grammar manual so I can practice my pirate speech.'

You say, 'What kind of grammar manual?'

Ami nods and shows you the book for a moment. 'We don't have many of them and usually we share. My book is missing a chapter, though.'

You say, 'What chapter is missing?'

Ami nods. 'A mate of mine borrowed the P Chapter to draw a map on but then he went and got himself lost. I've memorized the rest of the book but that chapter. Oh, well, I guess I can get by with what I have. Walk the mizenmast and batten down the boom!' She looks at you proudly. 'Good, eh? I'm one of the best pirates we have.'

Find the lost pirate at +6360, +1005.

You say, 'Hail, a lost pirate'

a lost pirate twitches and growls a little. 'Arrr. Grrr. Ahoy, mate. The name's Teep.' He shivers and you notice a little drool at the corner of his mouth. 'Ya ain't lost out here too, are ya?'

You say, 'I am not lost.'

a lost pirate grins and stares through you with a mad gleam in his eye. 'Hehehe. Yah, yer lost aren't ya. I can tell from the crazy sound o' yer voice. Too bad we ain't got me map. The map would lead us straight back ta camp. Yah, that it would, boyo.'

You say, 'What map?'

a lost pirate nods. 'After we got ourselves stuck on this island I got it in me head to draw up a map so none o' the crew would ever get lost. So I set myself to explorin' and drawin'. Now the map is gone. Too bad, too, cause it was a map o' the whole place, not just the first island, but a bunch o' parts.' Mention of the map seems to have sobered him up a bit.

You say, 'Gone?'

a lost pirate says 'Aye. I lost the first part walkin' through the woods. Some big wolf bowled me over 'n started to tear me book up. 'Fore I could stop, it he ran off. I'm not knowin' why. The second part, heh. That was worse.'

You say, 'What happened to the second part?'

a lost pirate shivers. 'The second piece I lost, well, that put the fear o' Bertox in me. I was still in the woods at the time. It was at night. Cold and crisp, it was. I heard a flappin' and squawkin' above me and I knew my time was near. So I up and jumped into a snow drift. Soon as that, somethin' swooped down where I was and started tearin' my camp up. When I came back, I saw nothin' but feathers and me torn up book. Another quarter o' me book was gone.'

You say, 'What happened to the third part?'

a lost pirate says 'Huh? Oh, the other pieces? I gave a piece to a mate o' mine 'cause he wanted to help. Nice enough fella but he couldn't find north from a hole in the hull. Last I saw he wandered off towards the bridge. The last piece went away after I stumbled and fell down here. After a while I didn't care, so I threw it in the water. It floated off. Seems like everythin' that goes wrong ta me is because of some danged wild animal. I can't quite figger it.'

You say, 'I will find the parts.'

a lost pirate laughs. 'Its yer funeral, boyo. I'm not even sure they're readable. Oh, well. Here, take this. It's the cover of the book I was puttin' the map in. If ya get the first four parts, put em in there. If ya get the fifth, just go give it ta Ami the way ya find it. Hey, if ya find em all, come get me so I can find me way back. I'm thinkin' I'd like ta go back now.'

You say, 'Where is chapter P?'

a lost pirate stares at the water. 'I'm rememberin' that. Yah. Ami's book. Thats what I drew, erm, the fifth part o'n. It got lost in the ocean too.' He looks at you. 'Yer wantin' ta go out and find all o' these pieces?'

You receive a Map Binding, a four-slot container. Find the four parts to the map:

1. The first piece of the map can be looted off of a Dire Wolf Stalker, a rare spawn in Iceclad Ocean.

2. The second piece is looted from Stormfeather - again, a rare spawn in Iceclad.

3. The third piece is found via a mini-quest. Kill Tizmaks in Great Divide until you have four of the NO DROP Yakman Parts. Hand all four parts to Bloodmaw in the same zone. Bloodmaw will despawn after you give him the parts. After this happens, say, 'I want the map please' to the gnome captive. He'll give you the third piece.

4. The fourth piece of the map is found on Lodizal.

Combine the four pieces in your container to craft Pieces of an Iceclad Map give this to the lost pirate:

a lost pirate grins widely and slaps you on the arm. 'Har har! You're crazier than I am. And since I know that I must not be that crazy after all. Ahh, I haven't felt this good in ages..' He shuffles the pieces and jots down a few notes here and there. 'There, now it's really finished. Let's get us outta here. Hold this fer me.' As he starts to try and crawl up the hill, a sleek figure darts towards him.
You gain experience!!

Receive the Completed Map of Iceclad in return.

A rabid snow cougar spawns and attacks. Whether you kill it or not does not seem to matter. Head to Captain Nalot.

You say, 'Hail, Captain Nalot'

Captain Nalot squints at you through one eye, the other covered by a metallic eyepatch. 'Garrr. What `ave we here? Another beller yellied land blubber eh? By the looks of ye someones mudder didnt know when ta throw a bad fish back. HAR HAR!'

You say, 'What do you mean, bad fish?'

Captain Nalot says 'That means I'm callin ya ugly as a piece o' whale blubber but twice as bad smellin, ya son of a water treadin _____. Yer about as smart as the slime we use ta patch our boat hull, aren't ya?'

You say, 'Where is this boat of yours?'

Captain Nalot says 'Arrrr. So we ain't got a boat right now. What's that got ta do with anythin'? Just cause we ain't got a boat, or a way to sail the waters, or even know how ta sail, don't mean we aren't crusty and dangerous. Just watch yerself cause we're mean.'

You say, 'You're mean?'

Captain Nalot says 'Thats right! We're mean, nasty, devious 'n cruel. We'll knock ya down, bite yer knees, and steal yer money. Arrr. We won't always say please and thank you either! Just remember that and don't be tryin' anyhin' funny.'

You say, 'What do you consider funny?'

Captain Nalot says 'Uh, I dunno what funny stuff. No one's ever asked that one. You know, just be nice ta everyone I guess. Think ya can do that?'

You say, 'What about the map?'

Captain Nalot says 'The map? What map? Oh wait, that thing I made ol' what's-his-name do ta get los... uh adventure. Uh, sure. If yer wantin' we've got a job for ya. If ya do it ya get ta be a real member o' me crew.'

You say, 'I want to be a real member of your crew.'

Captain Nalot says 'That means ya get ta take orders from me and ya get ta use fancy words like bilge hoistin' land blubbing beller yellied, and more. Anyways, we needed a map so me lads would stop gettin' lost, but the lad I sent out ain't come back with it. I even sent out a search party but I ain't heard from them either. If ya find 'im get the map and get back 'ere.'

Give the completed map to Captain Nalot.

Captain Nalot squints and then knocks hard on the metal half of his face to get his eye back in adjustment.. 'Arrr. This is perfect. Har! Now we can be plannin' our pillagin' and plunderin' all proper like. Good work, _____!' Captain Nalot slaps you on the back and accidentally drops his eyepatch. Being a proper pirate now you conveniently forget to mention it to him.
You gain experience!!

Receive Eyepatch of Plunder.

I don't think stormfeather despawns, he's just usually killed pretty quick :)

I've always had the best luck getting out of bed in the early hours and checking for him, he doesn't last long during well used hours but these days IC is very quite at off-hours

Did him for the third time on Tholuxe Paells, once for my monk and my Pally and just this morning for my wife's rogue. In my experience SF is on 19 hour timer but does skip more than 50% of the time. Timer reset after a patch(poor me camped him first time thru LoY patch week with patches glore. 7 RL days nonstop on that **** the first time! This morning I logged in my wife's druid to check to check and was promtly attacked by him, I think I had camo up when I logged her in so he may see invis but not 100% sure on that. For what it's worth next possible SF spawn on Tholuxe Paells is 8am est on January 9th. One more thing. He is charmable. Logged in Tyldak my 65 drood to get him under control while my wifes druid camped and her rogue logged on. Made him my pet and told him to sit and he actually physically sits when I told him to. Was just setting up for a good screenshot with SF me, and my wife's rogue when a 65 tank showed up so I broke the charm and keeled it in fear of a possible KS. Only other tip I have is Bloodmaw needs to be charmed to turn in the meat and make sure when he despawns you dont have camo on or Gnome will not respond to your request for the map. 1 hour or less of quad kiting the dire wolves is usually all it takes to make the special one spawn.

I just killed this SOB and I he's the first mob in a video game whose skull I've wanted to kick in after I was done with him.

He spawned at noon on Sunday, then 2:30am Tuesday (monday latenight), so 38.5 hours in between. (guess this supports the 19hr but skips theory)

Going to sleep now for several days.

Killed stormfeather today 27th December 2003 at 2:10 pm (grenwich mean time UK) after a wait of 31 hours.

Thanks goes to our guild members Force of Retribution who took it in turns to help Popeyedoyle (the warrior who wanted the item) and myself for their continued support and company during our long vigil.
Quest Info Wrong!

Just wanted to clear a few things up after doing this quest 3 times. The info above concerning the turn in to the lost pirate is wrong. First you can collect all 4 pieces of the map without talking to anyone. Second you dont need to ever talk to Ami in the igloo's. After I collected the 4 parts of the map I simply went down the hill an hailed the lost pirate; here is the info about what to say the dialoge above is wrong!

You: Hail a lost pirate

LP: a lost pirate twitches and growls a little. 'Arrr. Grrr. Ahoy, mate. The name's Teep.' He shivers and you notice a little drool at the corner of his mouth. 'Ya ain't lost out here too, are ya?

You: I am not lost

LP: a lost pirate grins and stares through you with a mad gleam in his eye. 'Hehehe. Yah, yer lost aren't ya. I can tell from the crazy sound o' yer voice. Too bad we ain't got me map. The map would lead us straight back ta camp. Yah, that it would, boyo.

You: what map

LP: a lost pirate nods.

You: I will find the parts of the map

LP: a lost pirate laughs. I'm thinkin' I'd like ta go back now.

At this point the lost pirate gives you a book (container) to place the 4 parts of the map into once you do hit combined and then you can give it back to him. Beware if you are low level because once you do turn in a Rabid snow cougar will spawn and immediately attack you he does not drop anything beside what regular cougars would drop. Also the book is no longer bugged so you do not need to zone or log to use it.

Once you give him the book back ...

LP: a lost pirate grins widely and slaps you on the arm.

Then a Rabid snow cougar attacks you also get a completed map to go hand into Captain Nalotfor your prize of a eyepatch of the plunder. Voila

Hope that helps all you out! Quest worth it if you have time to do it.

Stormfeather Dead after over a 48+ hour camp. Was kill stealed by a noob named Thuul when I went afk for like 10 minutes to eat after 18 hours at camp. This guy basically logged on and waited for pop like 5 mins tops and killed it without a word; he said even told me he saw me afk but never sent me a tell or hailed me, very sneaky I would say. Stormfeather, finally reappeared at 10:15 pm EST on Dec 7, 2003 on the Seventh Hammer Server after 32 +- hours from being KS. Hope this helps all on the Seventh and watch your camp for noobs like Thuul that ruin the game for others.

Ive done this quest multiple times with multiple chars. The best way to camp Stormfeather is to just camp him. Don't be a ***** and log off. Find a weekend, plan to spend 24 hours + at your comp. FD/Hide or whatever so the cougars don't bug ya. Stay at the comp, watch tv near the comp, eat near the comp. It's tedious but youll be glad when its over. If anyone has questions, like i said Ive done this alot, replay and ill answer the best i can : )

lol, for all those doing this quest with alt (mine was lvl 37) warning with this cougar, he is kinda powerfull when you aren't a 50+ char, i took him to 30%hp... while he took me to 20% with no mana and ht used... i just had the chance to still have a sow on me... i could have killed him easily.. if i had fear mem'ed he don't have lot of hp, he just hit kinda fast and hard...

Stormfeather bit it on E Marr at about 8:10am EST. 11/20/2003. Who's your daddy Stormfether?!?! Smack Smack. Sad thing is I camped him all night FD'ed and just went to bed. Belthezar actually owned the camp and I just wanted to log the time of death so I could camp him again. When I awoke. Belthezar had gated off and logged. Soon after that Stormfeather popped. I did a who all again and he wasn't on. You missed him by maybe 2 hours Belthezar. Given the time you left I'd guess you went to work or school. Lucky for me I start work at 11am EST. Good luck all.

The quest doesn't mention this but when you hand in the combined map to the lost pirate, a rabid cougar spawns and attacks you. He is fairly low level, I'm guessing in his 30's. I was so happy to get the eyepatch that I didn't bother to kill him. I just ran off and FD. Anyone know if he drops something? Thinking back on it I should have killed him to find out.

The information here is slightly off. After hailing the lost gnome say "I am not lost". Then say "What map?" and then say "I will find the parts of the map". This is what gets you the container. You need not speak to Ami or mention Chapter P.

It has been said before, but the best way to get this is to check up on it every once in a while. I saw him go down so decided to camp him 18 hours after his death, i stayed for 12 hours, so that is 18-30 hours after he died and he either skipped spawn or spawned very soon after, I never saw him. So I decided to ***** trying to camp him. I only have 1 warrior so i had to bum a sow and walk from the great divide knowledge portal each time i checked up on him, but it's better then camping for 18-30 hours. If you can 2-box you may want to make a lvl 1 ranger to track it for you, or you can do that and just log on every now and then. I ended up stopping by and killing him a week ago, so the point of this post: dont camp, just stop by every now and then and you'll eventually get it, good luck all.

Is this quest MQable.
And does anyone know what the spawn is after a patch or a server crash. Is it still 30 +/- hours. Posibly random. Any help here would be helpful thanks.

You cannot multiquest, as you have to collect all parts (NODROP) and combine them into a container. At no point do you hand two items (the minimum requirement for any multiquesting).

The character getting the eyepatch must be the one to loot all pieces. No escaping it. The only point where "multiquesting" is doable is when you despawn Bloodmaw, I assume that anyone can talk to the gnome then.
