You say, 'Hail, Ami'

Ami flips through a few pages of a small book, reading intently before answering you. 'Ye scurvy dog. I'll strike yer colors 'fore ya can put me on a gibbet. Take that, ya crimp!' She flips through a few more pages then smiles at you. 'Arrrr!'

You say, 'Ye scurvy dog!'

Ami grins. 'Hey, that's pretty good. You did it without a book too. Nice to meet you. I'm the bosun here.'

You say, 'You're a Bosun?'

Ami says 'Yup. I think it means I'm in charge of the flag cause that's what the Cap'n told me to take care of. I'm the one who made our symbol, so I get to protect it. I even got my own copy of the grammar manual so I can practice my pirate speech.'

You say, 'What kind of grammar manual?'

Ami nods and shows you the book for a moment. 'We don't have many of them and usually we share. My book is missing a chapter, though.'

You say, 'What chapter is missing?'

Ami nods. 'A mate of mine borrowed the P Chapter to draw a map on but then he went and got himself lost. I've memorized the rest of the book but that chapter. Oh, well, I guess I can get by with what I have. Walk the mizenmast and batten down the boom!' She looks at you proudly. 'Good, eh? I'm one of the best pirates we have.'

Find the lost pirate at +6360, +1005.

You say, 'Hail, a lost pirate'

a lost pirate twitches and growls a little. 'Arrr. Grrr. Ahoy, mate. The name's Teep.' He shivers and you notice a little drool at the corner of his mouth. 'Ya ain't lost out here too, are ya?'

You say, 'I am not lost.'

a lost pirate grins and stares through you with a mad gleam in his eye. 'Hehehe. Yah, yer lost aren't ya. I can tell from the crazy sound o' yer voice. Too bad we ain't got me map. The map would lead us straight back ta camp. Yah, that it would, boyo.'

You say, 'What map?'

a lost pirate nods. 'After we got ourselves stuck on this island I got it in me head to draw up a map so none o' the crew would ever get lost. So I set myself to explorin' and drawin'. Now the map is gone. Too bad, too, cause it was a map o' the whole place, not just the first island, but a bunch o' parts.' Mention of the map seems to have sobered him up a bit.

You say, 'Gone?'

a lost pirate says 'Aye. I lost the first part walkin' through the woods. Some big wolf bowled me over 'n started to tear me book up. 'Fore I could stop, it he ran off. I'm not knowin' why. The second part, heh. That was worse.'

You say, 'What happened to the second part?'

a lost pirate shivers. 'The second piece I lost, well, that put the fear o' Bertox in me. I was still in the woods at the time. It was at night. Cold and crisp, it was. I heard a flappin' and squawkin' above me and I knew my time was near. So I up and jumped into a snow drift. Soon as that, somethin' swooped down where I was and started tearin' my camp up. When I came back, I saw nothin' but feathers and me torn up book. Another quarter o' me book was gone.'

You say, 'What happened to the third part?'

a lost pirate says 'Huh? Oh, the other pieces? I gave a piece to a mate o' mine 'cause he wanted to help. Nice enough fella but he couldn't find north from a hole in the hull. Last I saw he wandered off towards the bridge. The last piece went away after I stumbled and fell down here. After a while I didn't care, so I threw it in the water. It floated off. Seems like everythin' that goes wrong ta me is because of some danged wild animal. I can't quite figger it.'

You say, 'I will find the parts.'

a lost pirate laughs. 'Its yer funeral, boyo. I'm not even sure they're readable. Oh, well. Here, take this. It's the cover of the book I was puttin' the map in. If ya get the first four parts, put em in there. If ya get the fifth, just go give it ta Ami the way ya find it. Hey, if ya find em all, come get me so I can find me way back. I'm thinkin' I'd like ta go back now.'

You say, 'Where is chapter P?'

a lost pirate stares at the water. 'I'm rememberin' that. Yah. Ami's book. Thats what I drew, erm, the fifth part o'n. It got lost in the ocean too.' He looks at you. 'Yer wantin' ta go out and find all o' these pieces?'

You receive a Map Binding, a four-slot container. Find the four parts to the map:

1. The first piece of the map can be looted off of a Dire Wolf Stalker, a rare spawn in Iceclad Ocean.

2. The second piece is looted from Stormfeather - again, a rare spawn in Iceclad.

3. The third piece is found via a mini-quest. Kill Tizmaks in Great Divide until you have four of the NO DROP Yakman Parts. Hand all four parts to Bloodmaw in the same zone. Bloodmaw will despawn after you give him the parts. After this happens, say, 'I want the map please' to the gnome captive. He'll give you the third piece.

4. The fourth piece of the map is found on Lodizal.

Combine the four pieces in your container to craft Pieces of an Iceclad Map give this to the lost pirate:

a lost pirate grins widely and slaps you on the arm. 'Har har! You're crazier than I am. And since I know that I must not be that crazy after all. Ahh, I haven't felt this good in ages..' He shuffles the pieces and jots down a few notes here and there. 'There, now it's really finished. Let's get us outta here. Hold this fer me.' As he starts to try and crawl up the hill, a sleek figure darts towards him.
You gain experience!!

Receive the Completed Map of Iceclad in return.

A rabid snow cougar spawns and attacks. Whether you kill it or not does not seem to matter. Head to Captain Nalot.

You say, 'Hail, Captain Nalot'

Captain Nalot squints at you through one eye, the other covered by a metallic eyepatch. 'Garrr. What `ave we here? Another beller yellied land blubber eh? By the looks of ye someones mudder didnt know when ta throw a bad fish back. HAR HAR!'

You say, 'What do you mean, bad fish?'

Captain Nalot says 'That means I'm callin ya ugly as a piece o' whale blubber but twice as bad smellin, ya son of a water treadin _____. Yer about as smart as the slime we use ta patch our boat hull, aren't ya?'

You say, 'Where is this boat of yours?'

Captain Nalot says 'Arrrr. So we ain't got a boat right now. What's that got ta do with anythin'? Just cause we ain't got a boat, or a way to sail the waters, or even know how ta sail, don't mean we aren't crusty and dangerous. Just watch yerself cause we're mean.'

You say, 'You're mean?'

Captain Nalot says 'Thats right! We're mean, nasty, devious 'n cruel. We'll knock ya down, bite yer knees, and steal yer money. Arrr. We won't always say please and thank you either! Just remember that and don't be tryin' anyhin' funny.'

You say, 'What do you consider funny?'

Captain Nalot says 'Uh, I dunno what funny stuff. No one's ever asked that one. You know, just be nice ta everyone I guess. Think ya can do that?'

You say, 'What about the map?'

Captain Nalot says 'The map? What map? Oh wait, that thing I made ol' what's-his-name do ta get los... uh adventure. Uh, sure. If yer wantin' we've got a job for ya. If ya do it ya get ta be a real member o' me crew.'

You say, 'I want to be a real member of your crew.'

Captain Nalot says 'That means ya get ta take orders from me and ya get ta use fancy words like bilge hoistin' land blubbing beller yellied, and more. Anyways, we needed a map so me lads would stop gettin' lost, but the lad I sent out ain't come back with it. I even sent out a search party but I ain't heard from them either. If ya find 'im get the map and get back 'ere.'

Give the completed map to Captain Nalot.

Captain Nalot squints and then knocks hard on the metal half of his face to get his eye back in adjustment.. 'Arrr. This is perfect. Har! Now we can be plannin' our pillagin' and plunderin' all proper like. Good work, _____!' Captain Nalot slaps you on the back and accidentally drops his eyepatch. Being a proper pirate now you conveniently forget to mention it to him.
You gain experience!!

Grammar Manual and Lost map are 2 different Quests
# Dec 30 2000 at 8:51 PM Rating: Default
Ami (a gnome at the camp in iceclad) asks for the grammar manual, you get this by doing a subquest with the snowfang gnolls, talk to the fisherman, ask him about:
what curse?
I will get rid of bad magic
what offering?

then hand in "Strong Wooden Branch" off of Horgalosks, (i cant remember thier real name cuz we call em Mojos hehe) in wakening lands
and hand in "Strong Raptor Gut" off of Tiger raptors by the zone to skyshrine in wakening lands

this will spawn an enraged walrus, kill that
then an aggrivated snowfang spawns
talk to him, and reply to him
Yes i want the magic thing
he gives you chapter P which is for the grammar manual, take it back to Ami and give her chapter P, she gives you the grammar manual, and i have no clue what the hell it is for other than good reading =)

as for the map quest

the book is bugged when you get it, camp and come back and you can access the book properly
piece 1 off a dire wolf stalker, spawns around tower of frozen shade
piece 2 off Stormfeather
piece 3 off Gnome hiding behind bloodmaw in Great Divide, give Bloodmaw the 4 pieces of meat and she goes away, tell the gnome "i want the map please"
piece 4 off of Lodizal

Turn them into the lost pirate, and he gives you back completed map to iceclad, and i dont have any idea where it goes from there, as i accidentally attacked him, and he despawned on me so ill never know where he wandered to, I accidentally attacked because when you get the final map from him a cougar spawns and you need to kill it, mistargeting is a ***** =P
anyways
thats all i know, im stuck now

there is a bloody gnomish captive in Great Divide who is being guarded by Bloodmaw the bear. If you give Bloodmaw 4 tizmak chunks of meat, he disappears and the gnomish captive will talk to you. he talks about a map. I couldn't hit the right words to get him to cough it up though.

Thanks bud. I tried this last night but Bloodmaw didn't despawn. And that's one green mod this Kinght can't solo. I'm wondering if one of those meats was not no drop, or does bloodmaw have to be charmed or what. Any ideas folks?

Can't trade with him if he's agro. Only way I know at this time is to use sneak to trade with him, but obviously that only helps Monk/Rogues. He's pretty Magic Resistant from what I hear so not sure if charm will stick, but maybe a high enough Enc or maybe Druid/Sham with Charm Animal (Not sure on this) will work.

Heya Oreh, heres how I did it, invis potion to get behind him, then inch up until you can trade the first piece of meat, then take a step back...his aggro range is extremely small, add the 3 pieces of meat into the trade window, step forward and hit trade. worked great for me :)

Garou doesn't drop a piece. The third piece is acquired from the Bloody Gnome Captive in the Kodiak Caves in Great Divide. Kill Tizmaks to get 4 chunks of meat (nodrop) then give these to Bloodmaw to make him go away. I harmony'ed him cuz he wanted to kill me. After Bloodmaw depops you can talk to the Gnome and say " I want the map please" and he'll give you piece #3

I turned in Tauuk Fishing Pole and the 100' foot of waterproof robe. And the gnoll fisherman ate it, and said nothing in return.

I handed them both in at once... Then I /petitioned it.. and the Server GM handed in the same two items and got nothing in return.

He said either these are not the correct two items or the quest is not working.

Guts from the raptors in WL and "strong wooden pole" or something like that from holgresh in WL. This is for the ice forge shackles quest.

There are two more mobs in iceclad that may drop the map. A turtle named caradouth<sp?> and a snow dervish named 'icestorm somethingorother'. Caradouth can be found on the southwest island - from there look on the shore on the southeast side. The icestorm can be found wandering outside the frozen tower and is lvl35.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. There are FOUR pieces of the map.

1. Dire wolf stalker (near druid rings)
2. Stormfeather (rare griffin near docks)
3. Part or a small quest involving Timzak meat
4. Lodizal

Effect of the eyepatch is a 20% haste.

When I spoke to him he said he lost two pieces. The first he lost when a giant wolf attacked and began to eat his book. (The Dire Wolf Stalker). The second piece he says he lost when he heard flapping above him and a giant winged creature took his book and began chewing it. (I assume this is StormFeather. A named griffon that spawns occasionaly and he drops the 2nd piece)

Well since you have to kill a 60th level mob, I'd say pretty hard. But also, it looks like all pieces drop in or around the iceclad ocean so not too hard with a 50+ group.

If you time it right, Lozidal is soloable.

Friend of mine.. lvl 54 Ranger got the killing blow after it was below 5% health from attacking the gnolls. Btw Loz is lvl 58 not 60.

Be warned.. it maybe classed as an exploit killing Lozidal this way..and therefore bannable.

RE: Time

If NPCs (guards or gnolls in the case you are saying) do 50%+ of the damage on a MOB then even if you get the killing blow you corpse poofs and you get no exp so I dont believe your friend soloed Loz =)

I have killed Lodizal 8 diffrent Times now on the Veeshan Server every time he was at 25 % to 50% health after his battle with the Gnolls the thing here is the gnolls are either dead or have been mezed so that wipes the factor of you not getting the kill and the mob poofing

Yesterday I was passing through there under camo, headed over to panic some cougars, when I saw this big momma on track. Having read about it here, and also from another ranger, thought I'd go over and see what it looked like. When I got there, turtle was about 4/5 full of health, with a big ole ogre swingin away at it. Expected to see a big group, or two, from what was said about how tought this pup was .. *THREE* peeps there .. one melee, and 2 casters sitting back. I stayed back so as not to interrupt, and just watched. Ogre got down to maybe 1/5 health before making turtle soup. Asked him afterwards how many hp he had .. said 3500. Got close enough once to see that mr. turtle hit him once for 300 pts. So, you don't need a full group, just have to be able to take him with what you have. :) These guys also didn't kite him to gnolls, unless they had done it before I found them. Was nice enough to let me loot the map piece .. now off to track strange flying animals.
RE: Time
# Dec 21 2000 at 7:31 AM Rating: Default
Hmm, took out Lodizal with 1 group. Average level was 57 though. Still it was NP, could have done it with 1 group of 54's prolly.

Doubling for 215 isn't that hard, really.

Lodizal's shaman spells do pitiful damage. Clarity 2 + full hp buffs and Complete Healing = a long but easy fight.

Oh and the fight is easy _and_ short if you let the gnoll village take him down below half hps before you attack. :)

I only had to Complete Heal our tank twice.
