You say, 'Hail, Ami'

Ami flips through a few pages of a small book, reading intently before answering you. 'Ye scurvy dog. I'll strike yer colors 'fore ya can put me on a gibbet. Take that, ya crimp!' She flips through a few more pages then smiles at you. 'Arrrr!'

You say, 'Ye scurvy dog!'

Ami grins. 'Hey, that's pretty good. You did it without a book too. Nice to meet you. I'm the bosun here.'

You say, 'You're a Bosun?'

Ami says 'Yup. I think it means I'm in charge of the flag cause that's what the Cap'n told me to take care of. I'm the one who made our symbol, so I get to protect it. I even got my own copy of the grammar manual so I can practice my pirate speech.'

You say, 'What kind of grammar manual?'

Ami nods and shows you the book for a moment. 'We don't have many of them and usually we share. My book is missing a chapter, though.'

You say, 'What chapter is missing?'

Ami nods. 'A mate of mine borrowed the P Chapter to draw a map on but then he went and got himself lost. I've memorized the rest of the book but that chapter. Oh, well, I guess I can get by with what I have. Walk the mizenmast and batten down the boom!' She looks at you proudly. 'Good, eh? I'm one of the best pirates we have.'

Find the lost pirate at +6360, +1005.

You say, 'Hail, a lost pirate'

a lost pirate twitches and growls a little. 'Arrr. Grrr. Ahoy, mate. The name's Teep.' He shivers and you notice a little drool at the corner of his mouth. 'Ya ain't lost out here too, are ya?'

You say, 'I am not lost.'

a lost pirate grins and stares through you with a mad gleam in his eye. 'Hehehe. Yah, yer lost aren't ya. I can tell from the crazy sound o' yer voice. Too bad we ain't got me map. The map would lead us straight back ta camp. Yah, that it would, boyo.'

You say, 'What map?'

a lost pirate nods. 'After we got ourselves stuck on this island I got it in me head to draw up a map so none o' the crew would ever get lost. So I set myself to explorin' and drawin'. Now the map is gone. Too bad, too, cause it was a map o' the whole place, not just the first island, but a bunch o' parts.' Mention of the map seems to have sobered him up a bit.

You say, 'Gone?'

a lost pirate says 'Aye. I lost the first part walkin' through the woods. Some big wolf bowled me over 'n started to tear me book up. 'Fore I could stop, it he ran off. I'm not knowin' why. The second part, heh. That was worse.'

You say, 'What happened to the second part?'

a lost pirate shivers. 'The second piece I lost, well, that put the fear o' Bertox in me. I was still in the woods at the time. It was at night. Cold and crisp, it was. I heard a flappin' and squawkin' above me and I knew my time was near. So I up and jumped into a snow drift. Soon as that, somethin' swooped down where I was and started tearin' my camp up. When I came back, I saw nothin' but feathers and me torn up book. Another quarter o' me book was gone.'

You say, 'What happened to the third part?'

a lost pirate says 'Huh? Oh, the other pieces? I gave a piece to a mate o' mine 'cause he wanted to help. Nice enough fella but he couldn't find north from a hole in the hull. Last I saw he wandered off towards the bridge. The last piece went away after I stumbled and fell down here. After a while I didn't care, so I threw it in the water. It floated off. Seems like everythin' that goes wrong ta me is because of some danged wild animal. I can't quite figger it.'

You say, 'I will find the parts.'

a lost pirate laughs. 'Its yer funeral, boyo. I'm not even sure they're readable. Oh, well. Here, take this. It's the cover of the book I was puttin' the map in. If ya get the first four parts, put em in there. If ya get the fifth, just go give it ta Ami the way ya find it. Hey, if ya find em all, come get me so I can find me way back. I'm thinkin' I'd like ta go back now.'

You say, 'Where is chapter P?'

a lost pirate stares at the water. 'I'm rememberin' that. Yah. Ami's book. Thats what I drew, erm, the fifth part o'n. It got lost in the ocean too.' He looks at you. 'Yer wantin' ta go out and find all o' these pieces?'

You receive a Map Binding, a four-slot container. Find the four parts to the map:

1. The first piece of the map can be looted off of a Dire Wolf Stalker, a rare spawn in Iceclad Ocean.

2. The second piece is looted from Stormfeather - again, a rare spawn in Iceclad.

3. The third piece is found via a mini-quest. Kill Tizmaks in Great Divide until you have four of the NO DROP Yakman Parts. Hand all four parts to Bloodmaw in the same zone. Bloodmaw will despawn after you give him the parts. After this happens, say, 'I want the map please' to the gnome captive. He'll give you the third piece.

4. The fourth piece of the map is found on Lodizal.

Combine the four pieces in your container to craft Pieces of an Iceclad Map give this to the lost pirate:

a lost pirate grins widely and slaps you on the arm. 'Har har! You're crazier than I am. And since I know that I must not be that crazy after all. Ahh, I haven't felt this good in ages..' He shuffles the pieces and jots down a few notes here and there. 'There, now it's really finished. Let's get us outta here. Hold this fer me.' As he starts to try and crawl up the hill, a sleek figure darts towards him.
You gain experience!!

Receive the Completed Map of Iceclad in return.

A rabid snow cougar spawns and attacks. Whether you kill it or not does not seem to matter. Head to Captain Nalot.

You say, 'Hail, Captain Nalot'

Captain Nalot squints at you through one eye, the other covered by a metallic eyepatch. 'Garrr. What `ave we here? Another beller yellied land blubber eh? By the looks of ye someones mudder didnt know when ta throw a bad fish back. HAR HAR!'

You say, 'What do you mean, bad fish?'

Captain Nalot says 'That means I'm callin ya ugly as a piece o' whale blubber but twice as bad smellin, ya son of a water treadin _____. Yer about as smart as the slime we use ta patch our boat hull, aren't ya?'

You say, 'Where is this boat of yours?'

Captain Nalot says 'Arrrr. So we ain't got a boat right now. What's that got ta do with anythin'? Just cause we ain't got a boat, or a way to sail the waters, or even know how ta sail, don't mean we aren't crusty and dangerous. Just watch yerself cause we're mean.'

You say, 'You're mean?'

Captain Nalot says 'Thats right! We're mean, nasty, devious 'n cruel. We'll knock ya down, bite yer knees, and steal yer money. Arrr. We won't always say please and thank you either! Just remember that and don't be tryin' anyhin' funny.'

You say, 'What do you consider funny?'

Captain Nalot says 'Uh, I dunno what funny stuff. No one's ever asked that one. You know, just be nice ta everyone I guess. Think ya can do that?'

You say, 'What about the map?'

Captain Nalot says 'The map? What map? Oh wait, that thing I made ol' what's-his-name do ta get los... uh adventure. Uh, sure. If yer wantin' we've got a job for ya. If ya do it ya get ta be a real member o' me crew.'

You say, 'I want to be a real member of your crew.'

Captain Nalot says 'That means ya get ta take orders from me and ya get ta use fancy words like bilge hoistin' land blubbing beller yellied, and more. Anyways, we needed a map so me lads would stop gettin' lost, but the lad I sent out ain't come back with it. I even sent out a search party but I ain't heard from them either. If ya find 'im get the map and get back 'ere.'

Give the completed map to Captain Nalot.

Captain Nalot squints and then knocks hard on the metal half of his face to get his eye back in adjustment.. 'Arrr. This is perfect. Har! Now we can be plannin' our pillagin' and plunderin' all proper like. Good work, _____!' Captain Nalot slaps you on the back and accidentally drops his eyepatch. Being a proper pirate now you conveniently forget to mention it to him.
You gain experience!!

Receive Eyepatch of Plunder.

I too would like some more help. I tried handing in the meat and was attacked everytime. When I was successful he just ate it, and never despawned, although the Captive was behind him the whole time, but I tried several combinations to get the map, no luck. Now I am KOS to Bloodmaw, so will have to try a different Tactic.

If you could send me your info that would be great....hockyplr@pacifier.com

Thanks

Regarding Lodizal, he is not a triggered spawn, yet a random spawn (probably within a fixed amount of time).

The way I have determined this, is that My Guild took him down a few minutes after he spawned, and my roomate who plays on another server had her Guild take him down at the exact same time. He had just spawned there also.

Lodizal spawning on two separate servers at the exact same time seems to point to a non-triggered event.

i know ppl might not believe this but my friend was hunting in IC and had 'Lodizal' on track and wanted to see what it was since it was red to him at lvl 40. He had a CLR partner, they were hunting cougars and such, well they saw he was being attacked so he watched til it died, but in fact everyone there died, which left Lodizal with his HP bar down to NOTHING, and for the hell of it he went to attack it. He said he prolly did 500+ dmg and then it died. He looted the map piece and later found out what it was for. So he camped ST and grabbed the map piece but no claws /sigh. Finished his quest at lvl 40!!! He now has an eyepatch of plunder and is lvl 44 ranger. On druzzil ro if you dont believe me. amazing if you ask me and he almost had it removed because a GM thought he hacked the game :P

Lodizal can be killed by one grp easy if done right, My guild has killed him many times with only 6 people. Lvl 60 ench slows the turtle, 1 cleric 1 monk 1 rogue 1 SK and 1 druid for porting ;-) Its been done, slowing him makes it much easier.

I was runing to docks with my friend then we spotted stormfeather!, we quickily took him down.
We were all freaked out that we got him then all of a sudden we spotted the stalker!, we got so lucky.
Next day a friend of mine spotted lodizal would be headed to gnolls soon, so we gatherd friends and guildmates to take down this baddie while my friend was drooling at the fact we might get the map.
And after few min he was finally slain, and he got the map so we quickly headed to tizmaks to gather the meats, and after about 2-3hours we got all of them, then jumped to IC and he finally got his eye patch of plunder!, we got very lucky on SF and loddy and would like to say congratz again to Saverin, wtg bro!

I killed Bloodmaw not knowing he was a quest NPC and he dropped nothing, but foraged food which some druid gave him earlier.

The fight lasted very long. 3 pets from level 45+ necros and magicians and 2 druids took about 10 minutes to kill it.

Fact. He spawns just north of the 3 gnomes sitting under the tree on pirate island.
Fact: His random spawn timer is 19 hour (not 18).
Fact: This item gives around same haste as my dragonborn sash does and stacks with it.
Fact: He doesnt spawn every 19 hours..19 hours is the spawn timer..he doesnt have a placeholder..and he is not up when servers are brought up.
I hope this helps
Stormfeather
# Mar 15 2001 at 3:28 PM Rating: Default
Servers went down at 3am PST on Wed 3/15 came back up between 11am-12pm (not sure exactly when). I saw Stormfeather at about 1:30am Thurs morning. So I guess he'd be a 12 hour spawn then? I know for sure he was not up for an hour before he died.

Where in Iceclad does Stormfeather spawn? Does he wander?
RE: Stormfeather
# Jul 03 2001 at 6:50 PM Rating: Default
Stormfeather spawns just up the hill from the three gnomes that are sitting under the tree on the northern end of the first island. He does wandr as soon as he spawns. I do not know about his spawn timer. I sat there one weekend for over 20 hours straight waiting for him, and didn't see him. It took about two and a half weeks of consistent camping to finally catch this sucker. During that Time I got in on three Lodizal kills. I would have to say that Stormfeather is far more rare than the Lodizal.
Lozidal? .......... grr
# Mar 06 2001 at 9:12 PM Rating: Default
I hear Lozidal is on a 19 hour loop, sometimes skips. I hear he is random. I don't know wtf to think now. Please someone experienced let me know the facts and save me time.
If you want the eyepatch, just be prepaired to wait for hund
# Mar 08 2001 at 6:45 PM Rating: Decent
I know some people camp these 2 ultra-rare mobs (Stormfeather and Lodizal) for just a few hours, get the map parts, pick up the eyepatch, and move on.

Also, some people win millions of dollars after investing about 5 bucks on lottery tickets. But don't expect that to happen to you either.

Read some of the posts here, people are asking if SF even spawns at all anymore, saying they camp for 100+ hours, etc. I think Lodizal is almost as rare - and of course the hard part about him is that he can't be solod so you have to get your whole crew there and hope nobody else grabs him while you assemble.

From what I've seen Lod may be on a 19 hour timer, yeah, but he skips spawning much more often then he does spawn. I have seen other spawn times though, 1 shorter and 1 longer than 19 (but the longer may have been due to a server repop or zone repop that I don't know about).

Verant keeps this eyepatch rare by making those 2 spawns rare as all hell. Also, it isn't like back when you camped the FBSS for hours - at least then you got to kill dangerous frogs and maybe have some fun and get some exp even if the FBSS never dropped.

Oh, and don't think you can just wander by and get one - there are probably hundreds of tanks on your server that want this so one or more of them will always be camping it. That's the real hard part of course, ultra rare spawn that many people are after.
RE: If you want the eyepatch, just be prepaired to wait for
# Jan 04 2004 at 8:31 AM Rating: Decent
"2 ultra-rare mobs (Stormfeather and Lodizal) "

Umm, Lodizal is NOT ultra-rare at all and not that contested these days. Most people that bother to come out to kill him are doing it for the shield piece. His map piece rots fairly often, or is ooc'd to the zone.

Stormfeather is the nightmare hard part of the quest.
RE: If you want the eyepatch, just be prepaired to wait for
# Mar 22 2001 at 7:03 PM Rating: Default
i've heard of several people doing this quest in 24 hours or less, its all luck.
RE: If you want the eyepatch, just be prepaired to wait for
# Mar 25 2001 at 2:34 PM Rating: Default
"Heard of" is the operative phrase. I rreally doubt anyone has done this in 24 hours. You would have to be there right when Stormfeathers spawns and kill him, then be lucky enough to have Lodazill spawn AND be able to muster guild fast enough to kill him before some other guild does, then spend several hours killing Tizmaks for meat, and then several more killing wolfs to get the stalker to spawn. Given the spawn rates of Stormfeather and Lodazill and your chances of getting your guild together to kill him, it is highly unlikely anyone has done this quest in 24 hours.

# Mar 02 2001 at 9:48 PM Rating: Default
Is there any specific faction needed for you to be able to start this quest? If you have killed some gnomes in your day, is it still going to be possible to get this item? I am an iksar on a team server. I've seen another iksar wearing this, so it can be done...
thanks

By the time you get the 4 map pieces that you need to give to the Lost Pirate, your *** will be frozen from having spent hundreds of hours in this zone camping some insanely rare mobs, and you will know exactly where every damn NPC and other mob in this zone is, including the lost pirate.

The last time SF has been seen on Emarr is when Lottsa posted here. Lodizal has showed up only twice, and neither time was on the 19 hour timer that Lottsa mentions... Interesting that you have seen about the same thing happen on TT...
i have done it. here are spawn times and locs
# Feb 25 2001 at 10:45 PM Rating: Excellent
1) Dire Wolf stalker is probably the easiest part. there is an area in iceclad where a bunch od dire wolfs just walk around. kill enough of them and he will spawn. i think it was somewhere near -4000, 6000 but not sure.

2) Stormfeather is a level 34 griffin who is on a 19 hour spawn time and some times skips spawns. he does spawn on the hill in random locations, but stand up there and u will get him.

3) Tizmaks can be found in Great Divide in the tunnels at about loc -2200, 2200. need to kill a lot of them but they will eventually drop the meat.

4) Lodizal is probably the hardest part. he is a level 60 turtle so u will need about 2 groups to take him down and he is also a 19 hour spawn with skips. so basically start the 19 hour timer once the servers come up from a patch and just wait at about 700, 2500 and he will spawn on the island with the gnolls with clubs :)

I camped this guy for his talons...A warrior was sharing the spawn with me...so i would suggest that you find a friend..you will need it. This is the longest spawn i have ever encountered. Most assume that he spawns once in 24 hours..not true. First time i killed him was 12 hours after someone else killed him...then i spent 68 hours and 45 mins for his next spawn...Thankfully a warrior shared the load..i got to sleep...Good Luck with this one. Just my two cents.

One other note...no ph..and if you sit on the hill above the three gnomes under the tree...on the peak...he will spawn on your head...guaranteed

Bloodmaw is always in the same place, in the Feral Bear Caves in Great Divide. He has the Bloody Gnome Captive with him.
Facing the entrance to Velketors, the cave is the farthest on the right.

I've spend almost a week there and have seen
and killed the pulsating icestorm , Garou , Midnight , Corudoth . None of them dropped anything related . ( I thought icestorm and turtle might have been ph's of Stormfeather )

I haven't seen the griffin and I doubt he is on a 24 hour clock.

Most agree he spawns near the three cougar tree on the gnome island . Can he spawn at another place maybe . Does he have a ph ?

I've seen him twice now. First when I was camping cougars for earrings a few weeks back and a wizard nearby killed him. Yesterday I went back again since I knew what he was for. I killed cougars non stop for 2 hours and then he popped right at the top near the cougar 3spawn and the tree with 3 gnomes sat by it. I was the only person in the zone so nobody else was killing any mobs when he popped, apart from me killing cougars.

The wolf stalker is doing my head in though. I've killed dire wolves between the druid port and the bridge for about 10 hours on and off now and not seen him.

2 hours? LOL!

I have now spent *106* hours in 5 days camping his spawn spot.

That includes one 34-hour marathon session with no rest nonstop.

Not a camp for the faint of heart, or the sane. :p

Lodizal Spawn Mystery
# Jan 06 2001 at 3:36 PM Rating: Default
I got an idea not sure if it is Correct or not but everyone i know is not so sure about how Lodizal spawns or what his spawn time is since after servers go down he isnt up when they come back up. But the other day this happened to my friend. At the Gnoll Camp(the one with two Tents) he was talking with the gnolls and he came across a Gnoll Fisher or something like that actualy at the Gnoll camp(not the ones on the Icepads in the ocean) and he talked to him about Lodizal then after he did that the Gnolls started chanting and dacing around and Lodizal came up out of no where and ate the Gnoll he was talking to then insisted on killing the other Gnolls and then going off(which we later killed him) but all the gnolls respawns but the Gnoll fisher so is there a Possible chance he is a triggered spawn or was this just a happened to be there thing.

I also saw this event take place. There seem to be several events like this in Velious. Another is the attack on the dwarfs by the orcs in EW.
We came out of ToFS and saw ALL the gnolls gathered together near the igloos, praying that the "great sea god" would not attack them. Of course Lodzial did, but it was a pretty good battle.
As far as I can see these events are on some sort of timer - whether set time or random I'm not sure. I don't think you can kill anything to make this event occur.

If anyone has taken down Lodzial can you please give some advice on how? I know he is impervious to magic.

He can be killed with a single group, couple tanks and a cleric, druid dot's work, tugur does work, lures work....they can however be highly resisted, though i never had a problem with winged death.

This is what I did and it worked great! Bloodmaw has a very small aggro range and will stay in one spot if you pull back. There is a 1-2 second period of time before he aggros on you if you get close to him. During this time, run up with a piece of Tizmak meat in your hand, trade with him, and back out of his aggro range, with the Trade window still open...make sure he is NOT attacking you. Once you do this, complete the trade, he will despawn. As the gnome, "I want the map please" and you are good to go! I just need to find Stormfeather and the Eyepatch is mine! ;-)

Hope this helps!

If Monk/Rogue, just get an invis (Or Hide for Rogue) and get behind him then turn on sneak. Trade the 4 pieces to him after that and he will despawn, letting you get the map piece from the gnome.

For a monk..just run behind him FD.

He will forget you and turn to face his normal direction.

Then sneak behind him and give him the meat.

Bloodmaw cons WHITE to a level 1 mule. Bloodmaw has 32000 hp and god-like regen. And 100% MR. Only 1 raid have taken him out and it took hours. He dropped nothing, and no experience (of course).

There are a few other NPCs like that, like some of the giants in Kael Drakkal with 32000+ hp and regen that makes Cazel look like yard trash.

Coruduth is like this also. 100% MR, 32000 hp, and huge regen.

Now, this is cleared up =)

hummm.. aren't you exagerating a little bit? I took Bloodmaw down with 2 more people, yes he has a lot of HP and a huge regen rate, but it took us 20 minutes not hours and we were not the only ones that killed him, a few did it before us. He is not 100% MR, I was casting Lure and Draughs and both were working, he was resisting but I was doing damage. He wont attack whoever is attacking him neither the gnome will help him out. I am asuming that because the fact that they are mobs for quest they have such a huge amount of HP.

a raid took hours?
im a lvl 56 mag from quellious, i buffed my pet, attacked bloodmaw, went afk and 20 mins later he was dead.

he wasnt 100% mr, i nuked a bit to see if i could dent his hp, every nuke hit for full and he didnt appear to be scratched much (8x700)

I soloed him with my 52 monk. It took 30 minutes and quite a few bandages. If you hit him with fear, he stands still whilst you beat on him. He dropped nothing. I tried to tell the gnome he was free and such. After 15 minutes, I got bored and waxed the gnome to put him out of his misery.
Bloodmaw's Location
# Jan 05 2001 at 3:32 PM Rating: Decent
There are three cave tunnels below the tunnel to Labrynth of Velrator. The on the ground level below the Labrynth is the tunnels to Bloodmaw. Go in and you will come to a three way junction(you can go left, straight, or right) at this point you want to go down the tunnel to your right. All the way in the back is Bloodmaw, and behind him is the Bloody Gnome. Hope this helps. I will for sure finish this quest, wow nice result.
