  • 1. Find out what the Arisen are planning. 0/1 Howling Stones

    Kill arisen bones or spectres or any NPC with arisen in their name in Howling Stones, this will update randomly on a kill.


  • 2. Find out what the Arisen are planning . 0/1 Howling Stones

    Kill the same arisen bones or any NPC with arisen in their name in Howling stones, this will update randomly on a kill.

    WARNING: Currently BUGGED - DO NOT SUCCOR or your task will not update. Got Hasty Note I think on this step when I succored.

    Sindaiann - posted a work around here.

    Plant a campfire in the room.
    People in the shared task, drop the task and group and get the task again and camp fire back with a new task. If the camp fire is in the correct room then ( the room should depop, and new mobs spawn) reinvite and readd to the old task and finish it.


  • 3. Find the Crypt Keepers and discover what they are up to. 0/1 Howling Stones

    Move into the crypt room EAST SIDE at /waypoint -17, -471, -4 that looks like a BOX with 4 extra small rooms, the room will depop, then the first keeper of the crypts spawns.


  • 4. Stop the Crypt Keepers. 0/1 Howling Stones

    Kill keeper of the crypts in it until The Crypt Keeper spawns. Kill it and loot a Hasty Note.


  • 5. Deliver 1 Hasty Note to Ghost of Rile Sathir. 0/1 Howling Stones

    Turn in the Hasty Note to Ghost of Rile Sathir

    I had the room despawn and respawn in the time it took me to enter the room, then I also had the room almost immediately respawn on top of me as soon as I killed the Crypt Keeper and spawned Rile, so I got the notes and the steps updated, but Rile isn't up.

    Also, the workaround no longer works. You can no longer request a new version of the shared task while the old one still exists.

    Location of crypt not correct on Brewell or Goods maps
    /waypoint -17, -471, -4
    Room depops when you enter, then the first keeper of the crypts spawns.
    Think the subsequent keepers only spawn when previous have died, I had a couple of double pops, then Crypt Keeper popped with a keeper in tow.
    None of the mobs were a worry to a pair of 113 mages. I expect I could have soloed easy enough.

    Tried this last night molo on my SK. Made my way back to the room in the east wing with the 4 small coves/rooms off of it. Killed mobs in that room and the southernmost room in the east wing just southwest of it. Before I could even get the first note update the skeletons went through the auto-spawn in the larger room. The name spawned but i did not kill him and he eventually timed out and disappeared.

    Continued to kill (including Arisen in those 2 rooms and further back in the eastern tunnels) and the skeletons went through the auto-spawn in the smaller room to the southwest. Killed the named this time (and got the update for killing him) but still no hasty note update. After 3 hours (and probably 20 Arisen mobs) I get the first update. About 10 Arisen mobs later I get the second update. Cleared both rooms and could not get the skeletons to start the auto-spawn again. So I could not kill the named again and hand the note in to the Ghost of Rile that spawns after you kill the named. BTW, the named (The Crypt Keeper or something like that) did not seem any tougher than a standard mob.

    Most likely killing the named flagged me/the quest so that the named could not respawn again, and after 5 hours I left without completing the quest. Collected 183 AA's from kills during the process but it was a miserable waste of time otherwise.

    Completed this task today. Took about 4 hours to get the first step completed. It auto appeared on cursor for everyone in task.

    Step 3 and 4 are completed at same time. When you enter the room (the one described with four smaller rooms off of it), kill the skeletons that spawn until the named. Kill the named. Once named is dead, steps 3 and 4 autocomplete.

    Taking the suggestions from previous posters, and after getting bugged where Rile spawned before the previous steps were completed, I was able to log in an alt that wasn't in the current task, get a new task, spawn the room event and after we killed the skeletons, I was able to hand my Hasty Note in to the Ghost of Rile from the alt's task.

    Try it this way and see how it goes.

  • [Go to /loc -81, 591 and kill Arisen until you get both notes, yes, both
  • Evac, you should get an update

  • Go to /loc -25, -412 and do not enter room, pull to that cubby
  • you don't like this room? my personal favorite is /loc 23, -542, but hopefully you cleared the room first, because you'll get quest mobs and the mobs in the room and they will wipe you.
  • Person who is leader, inch into room, will spawn your quest mob
  • The room does not immediately disspawn when you trigger the crypt keepers. Which is why you should inch in to trigger and not get aggro.
  • You need to keep killing them until you get the name necro level 113
  • Once killed, then go up to Ghost of Rile Sathir and give him the paper
  • Quest completed

    Nothing special was done, just keep killing Arisen until you get both letters, that's it.

    Also bugged in this way:

    We did not have the 2nd Arisen step done yet when Crypt Keeper spawned - one of our group killed him anyway, spawning Ghost, but he would not accept hand in (note appeared as result of completing 1st Arisen step), and by the time we'd completed 2nd step, the Ghost was gone, and keepers were nowhere to be found. Had to start over from scratch.

    When I killed The Crypt Keeper, Rile Sathir spawned (in the room) and the room had repopped with normal mobs. Wheee! Took a couple tries, but got the turn-in before death .. whew

    Both my toons got the notes when I got credit for them (the hasty note) .. and they are lore but not no trade .. btw.

    I killed the Crypt watcher before I was done with the quest. This left me bugged, since you can only spawn Rile once. And you cannot get a new instance anymore while the old one is still active (even if you leave group). So I had to start over

    Another site showed some precise locations but that seems illogical. Not that they wouldn't make it illogical.

    Yes, any npc with the word "Arisen" in its name works. I have gotten the first two updates to this quest in all four wings as well as both sides of the basement.

    You are all right. BOTH the Crypt room AND the room SW of the Crypt will despawn mobs and given time will pop at least one Crypt Keeper.

    The first time my group ran through the SW alcove room and I had noticed some spam in my box window but ignored it as I made it to the crypt room. I had them traveled through the crypt room avoiding the wandering devourer there and instructed my group to follow, and again noticed some spam, that I thought was a group killing mobs nearby. NEITHER room gave an 'update' so we continued exploring trying to figure out where we were supposed to go. Eventually, I made it back to the crypt room, saw the spam, and realized all the mobs in the room disappeared and eventually a Crypt Keeper popped. Instructed the group to meet up, by the time they got there, the mob de-popped, I assumed that the room would reset in 20 ish min. In the meantime I went to the SW room of the crypt and then again, spam, mobs de-popped and eventually a Crypt Keeper popped.

    So... BOTH rooms work.

    This task is actually called Trail of Discovery, not Trial of Discovery.

    It is Trial of Discovery. You had it right the first time. Actually both are right. Under Ach it says Trial, in the Task it says Trail.
