Emperor Ganak may be found in the southwest corner of the zone, inside a tomb at -3330, +2650, -368.

You say, 'Hail, Emperor Ganak'

Emperor Ganak says 'Greetings. It has been long since I was aware on this plane. Who are you and what do you want of me, Ganak, wyrm scourge and slayer of Jaled-Dar?'

You say, 'I wish to enter Old Sebilis.'

Emperor Ganak says, 'An adventurer that wishes to enter the inner city of Sebilis you say?? There are only two ways in, either the [glowing orb] in the heart of the ruins in the outer city, or via one of the tortured souls that wanders the jungles nearby.'

You say, 'How do I use the glowing orb?'

Emperor Ganak says, 'The glowing orb is activated by a special key, an idol crafted in the likeness of the dread Trakanon, Reaver of Sebilis. I have this idol and will give it to you, but only if you give me two [medallions] representing the Iksar tribes of old.'

You say, 'What of the medallions?'

Emperor Ganak says 'There were five different tribes of my people. The Kunzar, Kylong, Nathsar, Obulus, and Jarsath. Each of the tribes had a medallion that represented it. If you can return to me the medallions of the Kunzar and Nathsar, I will give you the idol of Trakanon.'

The Medallion of the Kunzar drops from a "froglok forager" in Trakanon's Teeth. The Medallion of the Nathsar drops from a "froglok hunter," also in Trakanon's Teeth. Hand in both to Emperor Ganak:

Emperor Ganak says 'You have returned to me two medallions of my people. In return, I give you this key to enter the ruins of Sebilis. Be wary though, for Trakanon, scourge of the Sebilisan empire, resides within.'

You gain experience!!

You receive the Trakanon Idol, the key to Old Sebilis. The key goes on your /keyring.

Getting to Ganak

I read that you need invis v undead to get into the Emperor Ganak room. Well, you can do it without, just hug the rocks to the right of the enterance and you can slide past and get onto stairs with a bit of care. Thats how I did it.

I just did this quest and they were dark blue to me at 56. I still had no problem taking on the frogs.

Is it me, or is this the easiest friggin key quest in the game?

I've been reading some of the other key quest's and what needs to be done and dang: They're hard!

This is a quick hack-n-slash and then a trek to the Emp for your Idol... Truth be told I was expecting to spend at least a day or two getting this done...

Well, it's of to Seb where I won't be able to get in a group anyway cause I'm too low lvl....bastards!

Just get some of your guildmates together and go for it. Most guilds if they are "guild minded" will take you there just to group. My guild loves doing that kind of stuff because I wander a lot and tend to get into trouble by going into an area i have no business being in yet.

Yes, this is SOOOOO much easier than the Key to Howling Stones, for example. My guild just took a hunting party to Trakanon's Teeth, and at the end of three hours we had like TWELVE keys, one for everyone.

can a lvl 55 monk solo these 2 froggies?
RE: solo
# Oct 08 2002 at 5:05 PM Rating: Default
Yes they can solo them quite easily. I am a 51 monk and they con light blue to me now and I was surprised how much easier it is to solo light blue stuff after 50. I am hasted but, only 22 percent with Silver Chitin Hand Wraps using a Wu's Trance Stick in primary.

Bleh, lvl 55 monk should be able to solo these, if you have your epic and some other haste item.. if things get too hairy just use whirlwind and they will drop like rocks

This is very easy to do. Just get a group and sit to the right of the caves. Have a Ranger track and pull the mobs over to your pull spot. We got the whole groups in about 2 hours and while waiting for spawns we pulled named and got some nice drops. Iksar Regen BP for one.

Forager and hunter spawn at opposite sides of TT these days. One spawns near EJ zone other one at complete other side of TT. So one is out of tracking range when camping the other. Just my CP for ppl having difficulty getting both to spawn.
Completed last night solo

I was able to solo this quest last nite with very little difficulty. I jumped into Gfay and grabbed a KEI and headed to Trak. Both the hunter and forager were up when I got there. I pulled the forager with ensnare to the shore of the lake and just kept Immolate and Drifting Death (I may have been using Drones of Doom, it was late.. hehe) on him the whole time. After about 2 ensnare refreshes, just to be sure, he went down.

I had gone OOM about 3/4s health in but was able to regain enough mana throughout even without sitting to med. I gave up trying to root to med pretty early on (he resisted way too much).

I medded up and did the same thing with the Hunter, which I found to be a great deal more difficult. He seemed to resist a lot more than the forager.

Oh, and on a side note, both were blue to me at 47.

Nasty buggers, hit pretty hard. (hits were around 100dmg each, but virtually every hit was at least 80+) Kited both as a 53 Druid, but both battles were pretty close, leaving me with approximately 100-150hp left after each and having to gate to med back up and heal. Just did the typical "stack both DOTs, and alternate between DD and root" routine, don't think i'd have pulled it off without my 53 DOT though. (several adds on the Hunter, just ignored them and finished the MOB off)

The Forager drops the Kunzar and the hunter drops the Nathsar medallion.

In about 3 hours we killed more than 10 foragers but only 4 hunters. While we were doing this, other groups were trying to kill the hunter as well, but had no luck finding them. Maybe the spawn tables are favoring foragers, or maybe we just had a bad night, but I still need my Nathsar Medallion :(

My guild and I were hunting in Trak's Teeth for exp and our Ranger kept pulling the Hunters and Foragers all night. We all got both medallions. Since I was leader, I dished out the loot. We killed a lot more hunters than foragers, and didn't even see one Medallion of Kunzar until we all got Medallions of Nasthar...and Spectral Bows. Hehe, what wastes of bows on the Shamans, Druid, Cleric and Monk...but what the hell.

Even though the Hunters dropped the Medallion of Nasthar more often than the Kunzar, they dropped both. Same for the Foragers.

Good luck!

Ok. I recently returned to Trak's Teeth to get more keys for guildies and now only Hunters drop the Nathsar while Foragers drop the Kunzar. Both can drop the Spectral Bow. Basically, we headed straight out from the EJ zone until we hit the lake or pond. Then we hunted around the water area and found Hunters and Foragers all over the place. We even killed some of the named mobs in the Hunter/Forager cycle, and got a couple of nice items.

Good luck.

My 52 shammy friend took me to get mine the other day, brought along a 43druid just for tracking. I was the only person we were getting key so it was pretty quick. Druid tracked, I pulled (monk) both conned even at 45. Took 10minutes, got no visable xp at 45.. but I did get a nice little idol :)

Stats: none
Cost: its no drop, you can't buy it
Wood elf Druid use: yes it's a key, not an equip item
Better than "testament" of vanear: if you wanna visit Old Sebilis yes, for +WIS no :P
Range Slot: doesn't really matter, it's a key

The Trakanon Idol is the Key to Old Sebilis, not some "phat lewtz" to twink with :P
RE: need help about the idol
# Feb 24 2003 at 2:14 PM Rating: Decent
BUT in Seb there's some "phat lewtz" to twink with. The idol is a step in the process.

Took down both the forager and hunter with a 49 SK and 51 ranger. I tracked them down, pulled back to EJ zone line. I snared and the SK feared. Fear didn't really resist much so we did fine. Had quite a bit of downtime medding and healing up though - generally easy to accomplish. Oh yea, for the turn in just have ITU and you are good to go.

RE: Solo??
# Mar 31 2002 at 2:55 AM Rating: Decent
Well, my group just did the foragers and hunters so we could all get keys. We were all level 46 or there abouts. Our Warrior Tank (with a good AC) needed a CH, even with 3 melee's (including a ranger) hitting the hunter or forager. The hunter and forager both coned white to me at 46. They took a while and we got adds.

I was the enchanter, so this wasn't a big deal as the adds were easily mezed.

My point - while you might be able to solo using good kiting methods, there are quite a few wandering mobs around and poor visibility and lots of hit points, and they hit hard.

Umm, like it says, you get your Idol of Trakanon, which is the key into Old Sebilis...just take a tracker along with you, and you'll be fine, the forager and hunter are easy enough to find.

If you have invis to undead, it is easy to turn in the mediallions. With IVU you hug the right wall and take the path into the boss. At that point IVU can be dropped and the quest completed. (Then you can zone out.)

IVU potions are available from your friendly neighborhood Shammy.

Not sure if the cycle is correct. Tonight we had the hunter and forager spawn over and over and over again. So... kill hunter... track hunter... kill hunter <repeat>

track forager... kill forager... etc

They were spawning fast.

There is no spawn cycle, they are instant pops as soon as they are killed. There always up.

Sorry not true. I've done a few key hunts in TT and have found the following:

Tracking in normal mode lets a Ranger (my track is 200) see what just popped in the track area. Often after killing a hunter or forager one of the named mobs immediately pops in his place and has to be killed to (hopefully) spawn another hunter or forager. Trust me they are not always up - I circled the entire zone sometimes and never had one on track -but there is always at least 1 mob from each of the above lists in the zone.

The mob lists above aren't truely "cycles" but like SoNH, FM and the other Kunark "cycles" they represents a single mob slot with various spawns. The Hunters and foragers are the most likely spawns, but instead of them one of the other named mobs could pop as a place holder. I have done the SoNH "cycle" too many times to count and the FM and TT "cycles" work the same.
