Emperor Ganak may be found in the southwest corner of the zone, inside a tomb at -3330, +2650, -368.

You say, 'Hail, Emperor Ganak'

Emperor Ganak says 'Greetings. It has been long since I was aware on this plane. Who are you and what do you want of me, Ganak, wyrm scourge and slayer of Jaled-Dar?'

You say, 'I wish to enter Old Sebilis.'

Emperor Ganak says, 'An adventurer that wishes to enter the inner city of Sebilis you say?? There are only two ways in, either the [glowing orb] in the heart of the ruins in the outer city, or via one of the tortured souls that wanders the jungles nearby.'

You say, 'How do I use the glowing orb?'

Emperor Ganak says, 'The glowing orb is activated by a special key, an idol crafted in the likeness of the dread Trakanon, Reaver of Sebilis. I have this idol and will give it to you, but only if you give me two [medallions] representing the Iksar tribes of old.'

You say, 'What of the medallions?'

Emperor Ganak says 'There were five different tribes of my people. The Kunzar, Kylong, Nathsar, Obulus, and Jarsath. Each of the tribes had a medallion that represented it. If you can return to me the medallions of the Kunzar and Nathsar, I will give you the idol of Trakanon.'

The Medallion of the Kunzar drops from a "froglok forager" in Trakanon's Teeth. The Medallion of the Nathsar drops from a "froglok hunter," also in Trakanon's Teeth. Hand in both to Emperor Ganak:

Emperor Ganak says 'You have returned to me two medallions of my people. In return, I give you this key to enter the ruins of Sebilis. Be wary though, for Trakanon, scourge of the Sebilisan empire, resides within.'

You gain experience!!

You receive the Trakanon Idol, the key to Old Sebilis. The key goes on your /keyring.

easy for an necro
# Jun 12 2005 at 11:32 PM Rating: Decent
I logged my 52 ranger on track hunter and brought him to ent of EF Rooted and camp 53 necro on and kited and dot and let pet whack on him. Then log ranger back on and did the same with forager. I got key for both ranger and necro that way. The ranger does not have very good gear so he couldnt handle them. If you do it quick enough the necro will still have pet up when u log back on.

Just went back and did this quest for my alt beast and can confirm that the loc +2500 +3000 around the little ruins is a great spot. Here is some info that may prove useful to any embarking on this quest:

I did this as a 59 beast and thought I could walk in and let the pet whack any greeny frogs that came by. Pet was buffed but not hasted yet. In fact I was so lazy I still had buff spells loaded. In pretty short order I had aggro'd a couple of green frogs and then a dk blue forager. In the fray I got two raptor adds and an Erolisi maneater plant...and then another frog. Well this was a bit more than I had bargained for and ended up running at 30 health. :)

Zoned, healed, loaded combat spells and hasted pet. MUCH better this time around. Seems many see invis fyi. Hunters and Foragers were both db blue and took a bit to kill them but all else was green and dropped pretty quickly. Just be prepared to get zerged if you don't deal with them quickly. I remember doing this for my main at a lower level and we pulled to the wall, I can now see why.

In the ruins there is a quest mob called Lativ who is KoS, at least to a troll beast. He was db to a 59 and agro'd when I was chasing a frog. Was only a bit more difficult than the hunter/forager.

Emporer Ganak was easy to find in the SW corner of the zone and then following the wall east to tunnel entrance. Hugging the wall will avoid the undead in the area. No other mobs in tunnel. Just hailed Ganak and then turned in the two medallions, no responding necessary.

After getting the key, I ran to seb and clicked on zone in. I did not have the idol on my cursor and it still zoned me in and gave the message the key had been added to my key ring.

Hope that helps!

Hi, I thought I would answer this for you.. you do the turn in to Emperor Ganak (loc. 2500, 3000)
They stated this in the first sentence, but I had to read it a few times to get it also..

Hope I helped, I am planning on doing this quest very soon...wish me luck!

I just got my Seb key in 42 minutes. Not 42 minutes camping the frogloks, but 42 minutes from logging in in PoK to zoning into Sebilis, much of it taken up dealing with wandering adds on the way to the Emperor and the Sebilis entrance.

Got to 2500, 3000, found a Forager within 30 seconds and killed it. Found two more Foragers and a Hunter within the next ten minutes.

Definitely seems to be the 'happening spot' for this quest.
My experience
# Oct 24 2004 at 3:19 AM Rating: Good
Following the advice of a previous post, I went to loc +2500 +3000 (the little ruins) and just started looking around. Saw the hunter and I chased him down (runs about as fast as someone without innate run speed because my pet was the same distance behind him for a while untill I casted snare). Then I went back to the ruins and waited again. Saw the forager and kill him. This all took me about 10 mins and i didn't have a tracker. Maybe it was luck or maybe it's just that easy.

Talk about a needle in a haystack LOL Don't waste your time trying without a tracker, I combed the LOCs mentioned for close to 2 hours, then made a loop all around the zone, didn't see em. Get a tracker =) Of course some people here are gonna say "i zoned in and instantly had 6 of each aggro me!" well some people are liars.
Easy Quest?

WEll Being a LVL 51 Druid with Tracking I was able to snare, Root and Dot both very easy, got the medallions. Problem is how do I turn them in? Tried 6 times now to get to Old Emperor Ganak but the roamers outfront of the emperors cave are giving me a fit even with invs they still hit me and next thing I know I have to run like Heck. Any suggestion?. BTW if you walk stright in from EJ zone the Froglocks will find you wach out the Shanman they are sneaky. also I solo thes quit easy

Yeah those buggers are undead so regular camo won't work, you need a paladin or cleric or enchanter friend to help.
OR if you go around the southwest corner of the graveyard outside of Ganak's lair ( that's the right hand side if you are looking towards the entrance of Ganak's lair) you can wait for the spooks to path away from the steps leading to Emperor Ganak, and then make a run for it.
I've used that method the last couple of times and it saves time overall.
Good luck

Invis to undead. If you don't have a cleric or pally around, grab a couple potions.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 07 2004 at 1:47 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I dont want to hear rambling stories that have no information or point other than saying "I did this when i was there" What about the loc of the Emporer or the approximate location of the Froglok Forager and Hunter. Is there any faction hits?
Cycle
# May 24 2004 at 3:43 PM Rating: Default
The cycle involves Hunters and Foragers where killing one of either will spawn another of that kind. Kill a Forager, spawn a Forager, etc.

This cycle involves named NPCs in the zone as well, but only in that if while killing the Hunters and Foragers, you suddenly see none of either on track in zone, then a named will be up. Today the named was Silvermane, but may include Sigra, Crusader Zoglic, Doom, etc.

After you kill the named, the cycle will reset in about 1 hour real time.

Err... after you kill a named, instantly either another named ( rare ) or the Forager or Hunter respawns...depending on which cycle the named was on.
Also killing the Forager or Hunter cause another one ( common ) to respawn instantly or a named ( rare )
The mobs spawn a set points, about 4~5 spots for each cycle ( either the Foragers cycle or the Hunters ).. most of the spots are within druid tracking range, the " far spot " is not normaly within that range.... maybe thats what your are seeing for the " ...reset in about 1 hour real time "
Exact location
# May 19 2004 at 9:36 PM Rating: Decent
Well, at first i started by roaming around TT for about 1/2 an hour, then i read that they pass by a certain location (2500, 3000). As soon as i got there i was swarmed by 3 greenies which was pretty annoying. What was more annoying was the forager that just ran by me and the fact that i couldnt catch him.

So i waited and waited, 20 minutes past by and i roamed around a little. I cam to a point (2550, 3150) that was part of the same ruins and as soon as i got there, there he was. When i got the forager to 10% health, suprisingly the hunter shows up...after finishing off the forager i put the hunter to sleep and head on home.

So if any of you arent able to find them at 2500, 3000 just try 2550, 3150.
Do the quest, stay out of seb

The quest to ket the Idol if very easy. Get a tracker and kill forager and hunter. Took about 30-45 for me (50 cleric) my druid freind (48) to get medallions for both of us. The druid could solo both w/o too much trouble. I don't know about getting in to turn in medallions w/o invis. vs. undead though. There where a ton of roamers outfront of the emperors cave. The idol itself is nice to have incase you get a group that wants to go to seb sometime but since the release of PoP and LDoN seb seems to have definately become a "bring your own group" zone. Although a early 50's group could fight in this zone out of the 10 people in seb (counting myself) I was the only one below 60. Groups that are in there are already pretty well established and it's unlikely a spot will open. If one person of that group quits the rest will most likely call it a day too. My advice is get a tracker and do the quest because it's really easy but you are probably best not venturing into seb unless you have a group with you especially if you can't tp/gate yourself out. Don't make the mistake I did and bind yourself right outside seb. Now I have a long run to make and no sow :( (I am on Xegony server and thing may be different on your server but I wouldn't bet too heavily on that)

Hi , its just my own exp after i read all this posts here and the key is mine !!! The PHs if there are any i dont even have to hunt them , at least as an objective cause where the Hunter , and Forager walk around are alot of everything to kill. So Hunter i didnt got a precise Loc , but walk forward from EJ zone like half way to river you see in most maps and u will find it . The Forager well thats 2 spots , middle way on river (just follow it from swamp zone ) until u are half way to the lake , and forager cross around there , or just go to 2500 pos , 3000 pos , like a previous post here and get it , this second options seems a bit harder because of many mobs roam there in groups , or at least 2 in row !!! Good luck all , i hope it helps :=)
PS. had to solo 20 greenies and some lbs , and 2 foragers in a row on that spot , they got me on the run , hehehe , didnt stop coming , lucky shaman all that love for me :=)

I figured I played my necro a bit, but since I got a hard time finding a group out there (all my friends passed me to high in lvls) I figured id get the seb key, I had nothing better to do.

I went to the loc 2500, 3000 (got my pet and augmented it before that) and then there came loads of froggies - now the 49 pet can handle that with a bit of help I can assure.

probably 1 minute after killing 6 frogs in a row, the hunter comes. I kill it, grab the medallion and run since my pet was dieing (hunter hit it bad). I hit up a hill, feign deathed, medded a bit and got my pet augmented again, went to the same spot (inside the ruins) and 4 mins later the forager comes. talking about luck, this whole quest took my 12 to 15 mins max.
Warrior 53
# May 31 2003 at 11:31 AM Rating: Decent
I think it depends on your class which determines how hard or easy this quest is... I learned the hard way as a Warrior and died twice trying with the help of a druid...problem is; froglets come in groups, and being a warrior there is no time to heal in between and even bringing along a druid, both times we got too many to handle and the druid died too...I finally got the medallions the third time when I took a couple of others for help.

That was my experience, and I hope getting the Key to play in Seb was worht it...soon to be determined :)

Well I've read a post from a GM on the EQlive site that your key rings stays intact if you change servers with the character, so from that I would think that you could destroy the item after you use it to get it on your keyring. BUT I SUGGEST YOU GO INTO CHAT AND CONFIRM THIS WITH AN ACTUAL GM. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR IT MESSING UP IF YOU DON'T VERIFY THIS FIRST.
RE: idol - key ring
# Feb 06 2004 at 3:20 AM Rating: Decent
You can destroy the key after you use it to enter the dungeon for the first time. In game chat type /Keys and it will display the keys that you have currently "saved" on your key ring. So the next time you go to Seb you just have to click on the globe and your in, and you dont have to ever take up inventory space for it again.
two sequences
# Mar 19 2003 at 2:39 PM Rating: Excellent
There are two separate sequences of placeholders for the Forager and the Hunter. For example, Bloodeye (named Trakanasaur) when killed spawns a Forager, but Trakanasaurus Rex and Vessel Fryn (named phantom) when killed always spawn a Hunter. When a Hunter is killed, either another Hunter (usually) or one of the hunter placeholders (more rarely) always spawns, never a Forager. If you leave Bloodeye unkilled you can kill hunters and their placeholders all day and never see a Forager. So if you need both and neither is up, kill all the named Trakanasaurs, Cocatrices, phantoms, and so forth in the zone until both a Hunter and a Forager spawn. All Hunters, Foragers and placeholders con dark blue to me at 55.

Sebilis Key
# Jan 12 2003 at 1:24 PM Rating: Default
Ok here it is easy. Soloed with my 53 Druid, Kill the first 2 Named Skellitons then the Froglok Forager will spwn, loot First Medallion. Kill next 2 Named skellies, Froglok Hunter will spawn, About 10-15 of each Frogloks will spwan. In the 2nd 2 named skellies i got both Shamans, they Cast for 430 but not to often. Have cold resist up you will be fine. Frogloks hit for 40-120 and double. Take medallions to Emperor Ganak and hand them in for your Idol (key). he is located past swamp zone running with the wall on your right , fairly good run you come to some stairs , go through webs and down to the left. stairss loc is about n2700 p2800. You will need a Tracker! most pops seem to be close to rive from swamp zone good luck.
