Formerly known as "The Final Assault" (changed very early in expansion release).

      Task Steps

This mission starts when you speak to Kerath Punox and say 'Do the Work' to her. Upon receiving the mission, you click on the crystal that leads to the Plane of Health and select 'Adventure'.

    • Speak to Syrina Pureheart 0/1 (Plane of Health)

    • Stop the bubonian thralls. They lead the assault. 0/12 (Plane of Health)

      TASK WILL LOCK HERE

    • Kill Xhut Adan 0/1 (Plane of Health)

    • Destroy the slimy invaders advancing on Rodcet Nife's throne 0/16 (Plane of Health)

    • Kill Kavilis Adan 0/1 (Plane of Health)

Ground Spawn Collections and Prepusterous or its PH will spawn at this point

    • You must destroy those that were infected by the Adan's last breath. 0/2 (Plane of Health)

    • Open the Reliquary of Decay 0/1 (Plane of Health)

      Reward(s):
      You receive 5 gold.
      You receive 187 platinum.
      You receive alternate currency.

      Event Summary and Strategy

      1. After you speak with Syrina Pureheart, the event will start. You are going to want to position your group outside of the central area where the bubonian thralls will be advancing. The bubonian thralls have a damage aura that will only hurt the NPCs you are attempting to defend, so keep them away from them. You are going to want to have 1 person run a circle to tag any bubonians making their way to the area you are defending and kite them to your group.

      2. The task will lock after you kill the thralls and you will fight your first named NPC, Xhut Adan. He hits for an average of 25k but is fast, and strikes through defenses regularly. You are definitely going to want to have someone slow him or have a competent tank.

      3. After the death of Xhut Adan, you will have 16 slimes to contend with. They come up in intervals of 2 to 3 at a time and have the same damage aura as the bubonians do. Use the same strategy as above, and have one person run a perimeter to grab any mobs that may be headed towards Syrina Pureheart. Be advised the slimes will use snare on you and could complicate the kiting strategy.

      4. At this point, you will fight the second named NPC called Kavilis Adan. This NPC is no stronger or weaker than Xhut Adan; hitting for an average of 25k but is very fast and will strike through defenses regularly.

      5. After defeating Kavilis Adan, you will have two winged sentry-type mobs attack you. Evidently, they were poisoned by the corruption of the Adans. They hit for an average of 25k but are not as fast as the two Adan NPCs. Defeat them both and then open the chest to win the event!
The Winged defenders are not affected by the purple fog,

      Event Failure Mechanic

If too many NPCs that you are suppose to defend die, the event will fail and will require a restart.

So, the hard part of the quest is that the purple haze from the mobs kills the seven guys you're protecting in the gazebo. Just pathing past the haze once takes a good guy down to 17%. Yes you can opt to fight the bad guys near the middle of the gazebo, but one wrong placement and the good guy (probably two as the are in pairs) gets stuck in the haze and dies. Fighting outside the gazebo means you need to be on top of the mobs or a good kiter who can handle excess and pick pops. Our solution: before the first hail, clear a path to one of the pits and then pull the good guys to that pit and snare them then fade/fd...you get the picture. This way, you can pull, kill, and/or die all without the bad guys getting near the ones you're trying to save. The bad mobs will spawn near the tops of the paths off the circle, find their way to the gazebo, then run in circles around the center of the gazebo. Pluck them off at your leisure.

After reading all these posts and failing this task many times, I stumbled on the secret. Fight in the very centre alongside the Winged Defenders.
The Defenders are immune to the purple fog and aren't upset if you area nuke, it's just the other NPCs in the outer circle that are hurt by the fog.

Pull the first rats up to the central dias and the rest will join in as they wander up the steps. Best to stand at the top of one of the second flights of steps to ensure that the following mobs agro and join in. Most, if not all, of the rats ascend the same outer stair gap.
Similar strategy with the goos, though some of them may need a bit of encouragement to join you at the top.

Obviously with a higher level cap this is a little easier. (tried mezzing (with 106 chanter) method and also tried kiting (106 Necro and 106 Druid - not easy when boxing)

I managed to 3 box this with Mage 106, Mage 103 & Necro 106, had 2 x Healer mercs and one DPS caster.

I set up each toon on the stairs at the south point, south east and south west point (necro/DPS merc in middle - south stairs)/Setting up in the centre is not advisable as the mobs AOE will kill the NPC's

once event starts the mobs will appear from one of the grassy ramps coming up the hill, sic pets on mobs and get aggro, usually the mobs come in dribs and drabs )between 2-4), if one toon has no mobs then sic pet on one of the other entry points.

The named spawns randomly (as far as I could tell) on the grassy ring somewhere, kill named then re set up covering each up ramp as before. Occasionally one ramp will get more mobs then others so can move to help but keep an eye that none sneak past. Make sure all mobs have some aggro or they will break off and go kill the NPC's.

Not saying this is the best method but worked for me as a boxer.

The second name popped while we had the 16th rooted without our knowing and went and killed the defenders before we were aware of it. Failed while getting up from medding and just starting to kill the 16th slime. Beware.

in PoLife Kerath Punox is a DE female, above u stated "say 'try' to him".

I told her "try" and gave me nothing, she does have a clicky for "try again" and that gave me 'Grummus!' , So I went thru the clickies she give you 'Do the Work' is what gave me 'Defenders of the Faith' misson

Do be careful if the rats get in the center area, the aura they put off will kill defenders,

It had been years since i did this misson, did it with a necro friend, he ran counter-clock wise, I ran clockwise pets or mercs would pick up the rats and as a ranger i headshotted them fast, was also getting "FATAL BOW SHOT" on the slimes, they went fast also

Corpses are still lost if you fail a part of the quest. The mechanics simply throws you out of the quest. No corpses there. Only method is to run back to the guildhall or use Special AAs to get
your corpse for rezz back. TBM was one of the worst expansions ever because of the bugs. After years it seems the gameplay still sucks at the last two missions...

After many tries we simply did this:

Outside of the grass the group is waiting.
Druid is running around and using his maxed AA 7min Root and AE-Root to Pin the mobs.
All mobs coming to the middle should be pulled out asap.
Druid was fast enough (with his highspeed AA run and in combination with Radiant Cure -> Ooze snare, Clerics Intervention, Enchanters Rune, Druids Second Life/Preincarnation AA) to survive while rooting and AE-Snare-Rooting the mobs (he got once pinned down and Preincarnation/invulnerabily rescued his life and his pull to the group).
Group simply picked up all the mobs (AE-Mezz from Enc) and had no issues with time (they have not much hp and are only bad in swarm and near the defenders)

      Advantage:
      - last step: the defenders don't come in pairs, one stays in the middle, only one charges the group.

      Last Advantage:
      - TIME TRIAL for this mission is easy to accomplish with that strategy

      Group:
      - no merc
      - War, Enc, Clr, Dru, Rog, Mag
      Quest sucks

This Quest is dumb like hell. A balanced group has nearly no chance. Even with mega DPS if the stupid mobs come close to the defenders they die. To have 2-3 pullers who have Radiant Healing to not get snared to pull around the middle part but have to do it carefully - how dumb is that. Very balanced.

This may be doable by 2-3 Necros... but a normal decent group will vomit more than once. bah...

TBM has one of the most worst missions ever designed.

I can't get past the 16 oozes phase. No matter how fast i pull/kill after the 4th one dies I get the yellow text across the screen saying too many have perished and the fight is lost. I've tried half a dozen times now, we use a bard to pull as many as possible and even opened up with a big burn including zerker with furious rampage, they are die'n in 3-4 seconds each and absolute none of them are aggro'n any other NPCs yet we get the 'fight is lost' message every time when the 4th or 5th one goes down (hard to tell for sure since our DPS is so nutty high and they are dropping like flies but about there is when we always get the fail message.)

Tried from the dead center of the spot there and setting up outside the area. Is it bugged?

The center works and that's where I started. Now we set up off the platform in the grass area. The key for us is to have a dedicated puller out there finding and bringing any mobs before they can attack the NPCs. If you need a break in between waves, you can always park the last mob and rez or med if needed. Haven't done that so much lately. For us, this used to be a very hard mission. But after you get it down, it becomes routine.

Kill fast or you lose I think you need to be in the center and protect the NPC there.
