The Darkened Sea Info & Guides: Overview | Progression & Task List | Raiding | Visible Armor This solo task is the third in a series of three and begins with a wyvern named Silwat Viltor (click for map image) on Thuliasaur Island. Pre-Requisites for Requesting: - Minimum Level 95 - Completed "Aiding the Ailing" - Completed "Our Simple Purpose" Note: Silwat Viltor only speaks Elder Dragon (90+ skill level required in order to converse with him). Say "find" to request the task. You say, 'Hail, Silwat Viltor' Silwat Viltor says, in Elder Dragon, 'The elders refer to your kind as mortals, for the extent of your lifetime is a blink of their eye. To live as long as I have, a lesser, is no small feat, _____. I watched those who departed our home with me wither away here, yet I remain.' The ancient wyvern pauses, breathes slowly and continues, 'It is time my task ended. You must [find] the one who sent us and tell them we are done.' You say, 'I'll find the one...' Silwat Viltor says, in Elder Dragon, 'Return to the first scar and seek the lineage of my order.' You have been assigned the task 'To Whom It May Concern'. Silwat Viltor arrival upon the island dates back centuries. He has outlived all that have since set out to make contact with him. He is well aware that he would not survive the return home but hopes that you can speak with those who sent him here on his behalf. Silwat traces his lineage to the land where the Crystalline Dragon herself first scarred the planet. Travel to the Western Wastes to where the wyverns now dwell. Seek out Silwat's liaison in Western Wastes 0/1 (Western Wastes) Head to the Western Wastes and to the wyvern caves in the northeastern part of the zone (entrance is in the vicinity of /loc 2550, -3100). Go into the northwestern-most room of these caves. Inspect the suspicious remains 0/1 (Western Wastes) Task Window Says: As you move deeper into the caves you suspect the ones who sent Silwat upon his expedition may no longer be of mortal form. The wyvern remains that rest in the corner of this room catch your eye, perhaps you should inspect them more closely. In the corner of this area, you'll find "suspicious remains". /inspect this to spawn "Tyglaria Co`Votaliar" (non-aggro). Speak to the spectre of Silwat's liaison 0/1 (Western Wastes) Task Window Says: Speak with the spectre of Silwat's liaison to learn what has happened since his departure. Note: Like Silway, Tyglaria Co`Votaliar only speaks Elder Dragon (90+ skill level required in order to converse with her). You say, 'Hail, Tyglaria Co`Votaliar' Tyglaria Co`Votaliar the wyvern appears nearly as ancient Silwat, though obviously not as long lived. It rears its head back in confusion, 'I have slumbered too long. How did you come to be here, _____?' (Perhaps mentioning that [Silwat sent you] will make the creature more amiable to conversation.) You say, 'Silwat sent me' Tyglaria Co`Votaliar's voice echoes through the otherwise empty room, 'Viltor still draws breath? It has been centuries since Viltor and I last spoke. His name is lost memory for the Claws, though perhaps not the [traitors]. What concern is this to me though, _____?' You say, 'Traitors?' Tyglaria Co`Votaliar snarls, his ghostly voice now tinged with rage, 'Those who fractured our empire and whose upstart hubris will be the death of us all. The Dars, those fools. The [Ring] as they call themselves.' You say, 'What Ring?' Tyglaria Co`Votaliar seems to be growing increasingly angry, 'That lesser elder who dispatched Silwat upon his task. His name is lost to me. I simply know that upon our division he cowered in the shadow of Jaled in the presence of Kildrukaun. He escaped with his life, not all of us were so [lucky]...' You say, 'Lucky?' Tyglaria Co`Votaliar says, in Elder Dragon, 'I tire of you, _____, but for Viltor's sake heed with these words. You will find your elder where the bones of our long dead rest under the skies of fire.' Tyglaria Co`Votaliar fades into the darkness. Seek out Efilrak of the Ring in Skyfire Mountains 0/1 (Skyfire Mountains) Task Window Says: It seems that Silwat was dispatched to the island of ancient dinosaurs long before the division between the Claws of Veeshan and the Ring of Scale. Tyglaria's death during the split has and should remain a secret, lest the two sides find a reason to reignite their feud. Tyglaria's only insight to the situation is the whereabouts of the elder dragon responsible for Silwat's task, "Where the bones of the long dead rest under the skies of fire." Head to the Skyfire Mountains, to the area where wizards port into the zone (around /loc -3000, 1000, -100: many dragon bones mark the area). "Efilrak of the Ring" spawns nearby (this mob is aggro, but NOT auto-aggro and spawns far enough away that it won't immediately aggro). The bones of the ancient dead begin to stir! Efilrak of the Ring's roar shakes the valley around you! You get the impression the dragon's spirit is not in a communicative mood. Subdue the enraged ghost of Efilrak 0/1 (Skyfire Mountains) Task Window Says: The bones of Silwat's commander now stir, his spirit now twisted, enraged and intent on your destruction! DPS Efilrak of the Ring to 15% health to subdue it. This is an average difficulty fight for Thuliasaur-level mobs. It can be pulled away from its spawn point, but will warp back when it goes non-aggro: Efilrak of the Ring roars, 'ENOUGH! Speak your purpose, mortal!' Speak with the ghost of Efilrak 0/1 (Skyfire Mountains) Task Window Says: Speak to the now subdued Efilrak regarding Silwat's final orders. You say, 'Hail, Efilrak of the Ring' Efilrak of the Ring's voice is consumed by hatred from his humiliation, 'Speak your purpose, _____!' (You think it best to quickly mention [Silwat's mission] before the spirit stops humoring you.) You say, 'What is Silwat's mission?' Efilrak of the Ring's voice sheds its former rage, 'Viltor draws breath!?' The ancient dragon begins to laugh maniacally, 'A shame I did not [deal] with him as I did Co`Votaliar. One of only two regrets...' You say, 'What deal did you have?' Efilrak of the Ring's skull swings down to meet you eye to eye, 'All lesser beasts of our lineage should be expunged! Viltor's errand and breath should have ended centuries ago with his and their extinction. I was a fool to think that watching them might reveal some greater purpose! If only those damned usurpers had the foresight to heed me in [life].' You say, 'What life?' Efilrak of the Ring raises his skull high into the air, 'The Dars are weak, too scared to do what must be done. They found it easier to silence me than to put down their own pets...' You suspect Efilrak will have nothing more of interest to reveal. Return to Silwat Viltor 0/1 (Thuliasaur Island) You say, 'Hail, Silwat Viltor' Silwat Viltor remains motionless as you recount Efilrak's words. As you conclude your story he takes a heavy breath, years of contemplation now weighing upon him. Tense moments of silence pass as the aged wyvern stares blankly into the distance. His glassy eyes close as his raspy voice breaks the silence, 'Until my last breath I shall serve as guardian to my kin.' Silwat Viltor opens his eyes and offers you his heartfelt gratitude. He remains undeterred in his mission to watch over the lesser dragonkin of the island.
