This solo task is the first in a series of three and begins with a wyvern named Silwat Viltor (click for map image) on Thuliasaur Island.

Pre-Requisites for Requesting:
- Minimum Level 95

Note: Silwat Viltor only speaks Elder Dragon (90+ skill level required in order to converse with him). Without speaking Elder Dragon, you see:

Silwat Viltor appears to have no idea what you are saying.

At 90+ Elder Dragon (trainable at guildmasters, if you're needing it), he'll speak with you.

Say "what" to request the task.

Silwat Viltor looks at you through ancient glassy eyes. You suddenly take note of the wyvern's skin which shares the texture of aged stone, cracked and brittle. He looms his head closer to yours before speaking, his voice sounds strained as if each word he utters is a struggle, '_____, long I have yearned to hear my language echoed back to me. These, children, some call them lesser. They cannot share the gift of conversation but they cry out, anguished, terrified.' He breathes heavily, 'You, _____! You must do [what] I cannot, for their sake.'

You say, 'What is that?'

Silwat Viltor turns his gaze to the drogmors across the river, 'They suffer, their aggression is the symptom of a greater disease. You must go from here, gather these things and return. Together', he pauses, taking another deep breath, 'together we will help them.'

You have been assigned the task 'Aiding the Ailing'.

Silwat Viltor, a surprisingly ancient wyvern, needs you to collect a few ingredients to concoct an antidote to treat the ailing drogmors.

The docile tortoises that roam the Kromtus fishing cove exhibit a long natural life and even temperament. Although the death of one creature to save another makes for an elaborate moral quandary, Silwat's concerns are with the drogmors. Extract a bit of tortoise blood.

The ferocious swordfish that swim in the deep waters of the Kromtus fishing cove exhibit a liveliness that Silwat hopes to utilize in curing the drogmors. Extract a bit of impaler blood.

The final component Silwat requires for his elixir is a few strands of Riverweed. This plant can be found at the bottom of the ponds formed by rivers around the island. Submerge yourself in the ponds on the interior of the island and forage for some Riverweed.







Extract the blood of a freshly slain tortoise 0/1 (Thuliasaur Island)

Kill "tortoise" mobs until you receive an "Unusual Tortoise Blood".

Extract blood from freshly slain impalers 0/2 (Thuliasaur Island)

Kill "an impaler" mobs until you have 2x "Discolored Swordfish Blood".

Forage some riverweed from the nearby waters 0/1 (Thuliasaur Island)

"Riverweed" supposedly can be foraged in the deeper waters of the river in the central of the zone, but it can also be foraged on land. The vicinity of Lyirae Oakwynd's roaming area has been known to work.



Deliver the components to Silwat 0/1 (Thuliasaur Island)

Hand in all four items at once to Silwat Viltor to receive a "Simple Antibody Concoction".

Silwat Viltor gazes upon your reflection in the water, 'Your hasty return reinforces my confidence in your resolve, perhaps I was too quick to judge you, _____. Set the ingredients down here in the water.'

You set the ingredients down in the water at the old wyvern's feet. He stares intently at them and the water begins to stir. A flash of light emanating from Silwat's feet blinds you for a moment. As your vision returns a small vial bobs gently where the loose ingredients once stirred. You grab the vial, knowing what you must do next.



Sedate and inoculate a drogmor 0/1 (Thuliasaur Island)

Task Window Says: Given the erratic behavior the drogmors have been presenting lately it is not likely that you will be able to deliver the antidote to it without first weakening it. Do your best to avoid killing the creature as you weaken it then apply a bit of the antibody around its head, hopefully that will be enough to calm the creature back to its natural docility.

DPS any drogmor down to 40% health, and right-click the concoction to update.

Emote If Too Soon: The drogmor trashes violently. You'll need to weaken it a bit more before giving it the antibody.

Emote Update: You splash the antibody over the drogmor's face. It snaps angrily at you at first but after mere moments it grows increasingly amiable. It emits a low peaceful roar in your direction before turning and running away into the jungle.



Return to Silwat Viltor 0/1 (Thuliasaur Island)

Task Window Says: Let Silwat Viltor know you were successful in curing at least one of the ailing drogmors.

Make sure your language is set to Elder Dragon. or try hail him in common, NOT elder dragon.

You say, 'Hail, Silwat Viltor'

The skin around the ancient wyvern's mouth grinds like fractured stone as he beams with the beginnings of a smile. He slowly turns his gaze toward the remaining drogmors, pleased to know that their suffering will eventually be mitigated.

Silwat Viltor is pleased with your assistance and will likely have more work for you when you are ready.

Task repeatability isn't known: You may only be able to repeat by redoing the series after completion, but this isn't known for sure.

Consider this an opportunity to max out your Foraging skill. Be sure to also get the quest Stocking the Stores so you can forage those items at the same time. This riverweed is very difficult to locate in deep ponds or anywhere. On the other hand my max forage skill druid got it on the first effort, while my 50 level forage toon got it on the second shot. My other toons who were starting off at level 1 had no luck until they practiced their skill up to the 40s. Cap is 50 for non-forage classes, btw. But at 50 these forages become doable. Plus you get to fill your bags with a bunch of junk! Smiley: wink

Update - I had been standing directly in front of him. Apparently he only speaks to folks if they stand NEXT to him. Ugh.

Trying to get his tasks, he won't speak to me. I am level 105, set all my chat windows to Elder Dragon, and have lvl 100 Elder Dragon. Is it a faction thing? If it is, perhaps the task should mention this?

He is not telling me he can't understand me, he's just not saying anything at all when I either hail him or say "what" to him. I'm not invis.

Any ideas?
