The Darkened Sea Info & Guides: Overview | Progression & Task List | Raiding | Visible Armor About Heroic Adventures: - They use the task system (steps are shown in task window, but steps are only revealed as you get to them). - Scale in difficulty, loot quality, and mob levels (based on your group's highest level player - as low as 85). - Tuned for 2-3 players and their mercenaries. - Nameds can spawn as you progress through the task (you usually have to complete a few steps before this can happen). - Collection items can drop from mobs in the instances, and ground spawns appear midway through tasks. - Expected time of completion will vary by your group's makeup (anywhere from 30-90+ minutes). - There is some variations/randomization in the task steps you'll be assigned as you progress through the task. This is a heroic adventure (1-6 players) that begins with Priestess Gli`helin (click for map image) in Degmar. Pre-Requisites for Requesting AND Participating: - Minimum Level 95 - Apprehensive faction with Degmar's Commoners (faction gained from Damton Silverhammer's tasks) TASK SUMMARY - Say "adventure" to request the task and "ready" to zone in. Step #1: Travel to the library 0/1 --- Explore update. Step #2: Kill 5 librarians 0/5 --- Kill update. Kill 5 diggers 0/5 --- Kill update. Step #3: Travel to the throne room 0/1 --- Location update. Step #4: Retrieve the key to the safe room from Commander Alast Degmar 0/1 --- DPS him to 30% to update. TASK LOCKS HERE Step #5: Follow the commander 0/1 --- He's now in the prison area. Step #6: Kill 5 Degmar Guards 0/5 --- Kill update. Kill 5 Escaped Prisoners 0/5 --- Kill update. Step #7: Retrieve the key from Commander Alast Degmar 0/1 --- He won't get away this time. At this point in the task, collectibles spawn in the zone (ground spawns) and a named (or its PH) has a chance to spawn. Step #8: Enter the safe room 0/1 --- Location update. Step #9: Kill 5 Degmar Guards 0/5 --- Kill update. Kill 5 Elite Guards 0/5 --- Kill update. Step #10: Loot 1 Doll of Tunare from Sergeant Knotlest Degmar 0/1 --- Loot "Doll of Tunare" from Sergeant Knotlest Degmar's corpse. Step #11: Deliver the relic to Priestess Gli'helin 0/1 --- She'll be most appreciative. NAMED MOBS "Ghostly Guard" (or its PH "a haunted Degmar guardian") spawns on the bottom floor of the safe room (locked area of the zone) after the seventh step is completed. TASK IN DETAIL ======================================================================== TRIGGERING THE TASK ======================================================================== You say, 'Hail, Priestess Glihelin' Priestess Glihelin says 'May Tunare bless you, _____. Your deeds in the castle have floated to my ears. I will not bore you with conversation unless you [desire] it. I wish to add [life] to the temple, and to [retrieve] a confiscated relic.' You say, 'How can we retrieve it?' Priestess Glihelin says 'Commander Degmar confiscated a [relic] of this chapel that I hold dear. You and some friends will need to go on a nighttime [adventure] while most of the castle is asleep. If you are interested, let me know when you and your companions are ready. Unfortunately, with the danger I live with every day, your companions must also have proven themselves trustworthy. I'm also happy to give you more [details] on what you should expect if you so desire.' You say, 'Tell me about the relic' Priestess Glihelin says 'While I call it a relic, it's really just a totem of Tunare that I was given when I was an acolyte. It's value is more sentimental than due to any actual magic.' You say, 'Details, please...' Priestess Glihelin says 'I will suspend your bodies in magical sleep until nightfall. Once the guard changes to the night crew, I will send you to retrieve the relic. Most parts of the castle will be abandoned and there will be fewer guards. You will need to pass through the foyer and go to the eastern, lower level branch, pass [through] the library to the [throne room] to gain the key to the [safe room] from [Commander Degmar].' You say, 'Through the library?' Priestess Glihelin says 'The library always has activity, so you will need to deal with what is there before you move on.' You say, 'What about the throne room?' Priestess Glihelin says 'You will find [Commander Degmar] in the throne room. Though he has a bedroom behind the throne, he is likely in the throne room, sleeping on a table, where his guards can look over him and protect him in his sleep.' You say, 'What safe room?' Priestess Glihelin says 'Once you gain the key from Commander Degmar, you will need to enter the safe room, which is connected to the armory and the merchant rooms. You can take whichever path you prefer. The armory is closer to the throne room, but may have guards in it, while the merchant rooms are most likely abandoned at night. The Sergeant will have the relic.' You say, 'Who is Commander Degmar?' Priestess Glihelin says 'Comander Degmar is no longer really with us. Paranoia has made him miserable and unreasonable. He is difficult to find, and when he is around, he tends to attack first, and speak later.' You say, 'We'll go on your adventure...' Priestess Glihelin says 'Thank you. You will find the relic in the safe room, for which you will need to retrieve a key from Commander Degmar. Let me know when you and your companions are [ready]. Also, let me know if you'd like more [details] about this night operation.' You have been assigned the task 'Castle Relic'. Priestess Glihelin would like you to retrieve her relic. It is in possession of the Sergeant, who is locked in the safe room. Commander Alast Degmar has a key. You say, 'Ready!' Priestess Glihelin says 'Good luck! Now sleep here safely until nighttime. Once you have completed the task, run back to me and I'll spirit you away to [leave] the guards wondering where you went.' LOADING, PLEASE WAIT... ======================================================================== STEP #1 ======================================================================== Travel to the library 0/1 (Degmar, the Lost Castle) Task Window Says: The design of the castle is odd. You will need to go through the library to get to Commander Degmar. If You Get This Step: Explore update in the library around /loc -280, -190, -25. ======================================================================== STEP #2 ======================================================================== Kill 5 librarians 0/5 (Degmar, the Lost Castle) Task Window Says: Though they are a bit myopic, and mostly care about their books, the librarians are a bit zealous. Go ahead and destroy some of them so more people will be able to enjoy books. If You Get This Step: Kill update. ===================== Kill 5 diggers 0/5 (Degmar, the Lost Castle) Task Window Says: The diggers are crazy. They may eventually dig far enough to damage the magic keeping this keep safe. Kill them before they kill us all. If You Get This Step: Kill update. ======================================================================== STEP #3 ======================================================================== Travel to the throne room 0/1 (Degmar, the Lost Castle) Task Window Says: You can reach the throne room through the south exit of the library. If You Get This Step: Location update. ======================================================================== STEP #4 ======================================================================== Retrieve the key to the safe room from Commander Alast Degmar 0/1 (Degmar, the Lost Castle) Task Window Says: Commander Alast Degmar has the key to the safe room. Retrieve the key from him any way you can. If You Get This Step: No tricks here other than a significant amount of hitpoints. He hits for a max ~29,000. DPS Commander Alast Degmar to 30% at which point he goes non-aggro and runs to another location in the zone. (The task locks upon this update.) ======================================================================== STEP #5 ======================================================================== Follow the commander 0/1 (Degmar, the Lost Castle) Task Window Says: The commander has run away! Follow him. If You Get This Step: Location update in the prison to the west, then south - at about /loc -490, 80, -25. ======================================================================== STEP #6 ======================================================================== Kill 5 Degmar Guards 0/5 (Degmar, the Lost Castle) Task Window Says: The prison guards are going to protect the commander. Reduce their numbers. If You Get This Step: Kill update. ===================== Kill 5 Escaped Prisoners 0/5 (Degmar, the Lost Castle) Task Window Says: The prisoners have escaped. They are all violent offenders. Kill them to keep them from killing everyone in the keep! If You Get This Step: Kill update. ======================================================================== STEP #7 ======================================================================== Retrieve the key from Commander Alast Degmar 0/1 (Degmar, the Lost Castle) Task Window Says: Commander Degmar is trapped. Retrieve the key from him any way you can. If You Get This Step: Kill & Loot update. As of a January 2015 patch, you should receive credit for the 'key' as long as you're part of the task and regardless of whether or not you're on his hate list or even in the zone. Commander Alast Degmar says 'Invaders. Guards! Invaders! Hrmf. Have to do everything myself.' Commander Alast Degmar has been slain by _____! Commander Alast Degmar's corpse falls. You pick up a key you see drop from the Commander's body. ======================================================================== STEP #8 ======================================================================== Enter the Safe Room 0/1 (Degmar, the Lost Castle) Task Window Says: The relic will be in the safe room. Make your way there. If You Get This Step: The entrance to the safe room is south of Priestess Glihelin, just north of the dining hall where the spectral revelers are in the non-instanced zone. Location update at about /loc -380, -60, -10. ======================================================================== STEP #9 ======================================================================== Kill 5 Dregmar Guards 0/5 (Degmar, the Lost Castle) Task Window Says: You will need to eliminate some of the guards, or they will kill you before you can leave with the relic. If You Get This Step: Kill update. ======================================================================== STEP #10 ======================================================================== Loot 1 Doll of Tunare from Sergeant Knotlest Degmar 0/1 (Degmar, the Lost Castle) Task Window Says: The sergeant has the relic. You need to kill her and take it from her corpse to retrieve it. If You Get This Step: Sergeant Knotlest Degmar is found on the walkway overlooking the first floor of the 'safe room'. She hits for a max ~29,000. Loot "Doll of Tunare" from her corpse. NOTE: Pathing is awkward here, and she may drop to the floor below. With this in mind, you may want to clear guards on the walkway AND below her. ======================================================================== STEP #11 ======================================================================== Deliver 1 Doll of Tunare to Priestess Gli'helin 0/1 (Degmar, the Lost Castle) Task Window Says: Bring the relic back to Priestess Gli'helin. If You Get This Step: Turn-in for task completion. Priestess Glihelin smiles brightly, hugging her doll, 'Thank you for this small bit of comfort in these stressful times. When you are ready to [leave] I will again send you to sleep.' The priestess hugs the doll to herself, and tears fall from her eyes. You say, 'I wish to leave' Priestess Glihelin casts a wordless spell on you. Your awareness fades as you fall asleep. LOADING, PLEASE WAIT... You have entered Degmar, the Lost Castle.
