The Darkened Sea Info & Guides: Overview | Progression & Task List | Raiding | Visible Armor

This solo task is the first in a series of three. It begins with Jessup Stormwind (click for map image) in Tempest Temple. He is located at -340, -280, -156 (on the elevated island in the southeastern part of the zone).

Pre-Requisites for Requesting:
- None

Say "constitution" to request the task.

You say, 'Hail, Jessup Stormwind'

Jessup Stormwind says 'Hail and well met _____. Have you come to embrace the chaos of the natural order and bear witness to the mighty storm that the kedge have summoned to this place? Truly an awe inspiring example of the power of the tempest lord, Karana. So tragic that its orchestrators must be struck down, for the methods by which they created this tempest are far from natural. While I accept that the kedge must be dealt with, it does not fall to me and mine to terminate their offense. Instead I will focus on the other side effects of their meddling, namely, the sea naga and their ill kept goblin minions. For while the storm rages, their [malicious intrusions] continue unabated.'

You say, 'Malicious intrusions?'

Jessup Stormwind says 'Indeed _____, I could not have said it better myself. As you no doubt know, the coral forest and the rest of the shallows on the far side of the isle were raised by the kedge to provide an environment that they were more fond of, though they seemed to have largely abandoned it to the meddling of the naga. This had the unfortunate side effect of granting the naga access to coral and other deep sea creatures that they would normally be unable to obtain from the depths. It didn't take them long to plunder the reef and throw its ecosystem into disarray. There's much work to be done _____, if you believe you have the [constitution] for it.'

You say, 'I have the constitution for it...'

Jessup Stormwind says 'Excellent. We'll begin with goblins in the shallows. You'd be amazed at how much damage their stampeding feet can do in large numbers. Kill as many of them as you can find. Additionally, while you're surveying the reef, take note of the state of the coral. There has certainly been much damage done to them, and I'll need some scouting information if I'm to devise a way to undo the naga's wrecklessness.'

You have been assigned the task 'Coral Crushers'.

Jessup Stormwind wants you to make the goblins pay for the damage they've done to the coral and surrounding ecosystem. Put an end to their destruction and assess the damage to the coral.

Kill goblin shamans 0/5 (Tempest Temple)

Kill goblin warriors 0/10 (Tempest Temple)

Inspect a red coral plant 0/1 (Tempest Temple)

Inspect a green coral plant 0/1 (Tempest Temple)

Inspect a yellow coral plant 0/1 (Tempest Temple)

Goblins are found in the far western part of the zone.

Coral plants are strewn about this same area. Red and Yellow coral is partially submerged while Green coral seems to be on the little islands. Spawn points might be random, but here are a few map locations for "tempesttemple.txt" map files:

P -684.9475, -143.2248, 2.3793, 0, 127, 127, 1, yellow_coral
P -648.4603, -47.1860, 1.6401, 0, 127, 127, 1, yellow_coral
P -640.2911, -27.0615, 1.5328, 0, 127, 127, 1, red_coral
P -641.9035, 65.9698, 6.4391, 0, 127, 127, 1, green_coral
P -540.3406, 117.5983, 1.4587, 0, 127, 127, 1, red_coral
P -728.4587, 292.9606, 8.6677, 0, 127, 127, 1, green_coral

This isn't an exhaustive list - they're scattered all over. No tricks here; just /inspect them:

The coral lies broken and mangled. It seems as if the goblins were harvesting something from it, as there are many missing branches.

This coral tree is incredibly vibrant and much larger than any of the others you've encountered. It seems to pulse with energy, almost as if it has been infused with magic.

This coral has been trampled and smashed. Hardly any of it could be considered intact.

Speak with Jessup Stormwind 0/1 (Tempest Temple)

You say, 'Hail, Jessup Stormwind'

Jessup Stormwind smirks as you recount the tale of goblin genocide and the state of the reef. 'Such is the justice of nature _____. Pray that you never fall victim to her ire. Though it be very odd that the green coral has not seen the same damage as the other species. I can only conclude that the goblins and the nagas have some reason for not trampling it. From the traces of magic in the coral you felt it seems likely that the hags are empowering them somehow. Though I am usually grateful for any creature that assists with the cultivation of the wild, I have a [bad feeling] about this.
