You say, 'Hail, Drill Master Vygan' Drill Master Vygan says 'I am a Drill Master of the Legion of Cabilis. I have no time for idle chitchat. Be off if you were not summoned to this fortress! Find that guild which was chosen for you as an egg.' You say, 'What militia pike?' Drill Master Vygan says 'The pike is the prime weapon of Cabilis warriors. It can be upgraded, too, such as from the partisan pike to the militia pike and beyond. All these pikes may be slung on one's back when your hands are needed for other pursuits. To upgrade a pike is something that is learned, but it can never be performed without a [geozite tool]. Do you [desire to upgrade the partisan pike]?' You say, 'What geozite tool?' Drill Master Vygan says 'The Geozite Tool is used to sharpen the pikes of the Legion of Cabilis. Only it can produce the serrated edges necessary for these deadly weapons. They are not handed out to just any broodling. The tool is only given to warriors who serve the legion. Do you [want a geozite tool]?' You say, 'I want a geozite tool.' Drill Master Vygan says 'Then take this satchel and go to the outer walls of Cabilis and seek out large scorpions. When you can fill and combine the satchel with scorpion pincers, then you shall prove to me that you are truly a warrior and I shall send you off on your true test.' You receive a 2-slot Pincer Satchel. Kill a large scorpion in the center of the Field of Bone to loot 2 Large Scorpion Pincer. Combine the 2 pincers in the satchel: You have fashioned the items together to create something new: Full Pincer Satchel. Bring this back to Drill Master Vygan. Drill Master Vygan says 'You are a true warrior of Cabilis. You obviously are aware that in order to upgrade your pike you shall need a [geozite tool]. Take this note to the Lord of the outer gates. He desires a young warrior for a small task. Do this and he is instructed to reward you with the tool.' Your faction standing with Legion of Cabilis has been adjusted by 5. Your faction standing with Cabilis Residents has been adjusted by 1. Your faction standing with Scaled Mystics has been adjusted by 1. Each warlord gives you a subquest to complete to receive your Geozite Tool. - Warlord Hikyg in the Swamp of No Hope gives the quest to collect Busted Froglok Slave Shackles. - Warlord Zyzz in the Field of Bone gives the quest to collect charred bones. - Warlord Vyzer in Warslik Woods to collect stolen pages. Their respective notes identify as "Note to Lord Hikyg," and "Note to Lord Vyzer," and "Note to Lord Zyzz." Warlord Hikyg Details needed. You receive an 8-slot Slave Shackle Bag. Fill it with Busted Froglok Slave Shackles and combine to form a Filled Slaved Shackle Bag. Give this to Hikyg. Warlord Hikyg says, 'Good work, ______. You would make a fine trooper in my garrison. As instructed by the War Baron, I reward you with the geozite tool. May you find your place among the Legion of Cabilis and win many battles.' You receive a 4-slot Charred Bone Box. Fill it with Charred Bone Shards dropped by a militia skeleton that roams the area south/southeast of the path to Cabilis, and combine to form a Full Charred Bone Box. Give this to Warlord Zyzz for your reward: Warlord Zyzz says 'Very fine work, young _____. You will make a fine trooper, should you survive long enough. As promised, here is your geozite tool. Become a greater asset to the Iksar empire.' Give him the note. Warlord Vyzer says 'I am glad to see they have sent a strong new recruit. I have a task for you which will require you to recover a few pages of a certain poem I once wrote. I never should have written of such weak-minded things, but the pages were stolen from me before I could destroy them. Take this poem binder and find the [thieves]. When you combine the pages in the binder, it will magically lock and you may return it to me for your prize, the geozite tool.' You gain experience!! You receive a Book Binder, a 4-slot container (identifies as "Binder for Love Poem"). Kill "a goblin thief," who may be found mostly between the succor point (-1430, -465) and the goblin pond (-2180, 900). You have slain a goblin thief! --You have looted a A Page of A Poem.-- Loot four different LORE versions of A Page of a Poem (they identify as "Page One of Love Poem," "Page Two of Love Poem," "Page Three of Love Poem," and "Page One of Love Poem," respectively. Page 1 reads: To my dear sweet Kyg Why did we part Why did you go Now I am all alone Feeling all low.
Page 2 reads: My heart is in ruin My heart is not whole I miss the sweet loving warmth and the way that we hold
Page 3 reads: I miss the picnics in the ruins the way that you smile I miss that all now that life is so vile
Page 4 reads: So listen to my plea It is heartfelt and quite big Let us get back together So hurry up and dump that zero. Hikyg.
Combine the four pages in the binder: You have fashioned the items together to create something new: magically locked poem. It identifies as "Love Poem by Lord Vyzer." Give it to Warlord Vyzer. Warlord Vyzer says 'Great work!! You have saved me from disgrace. I reward you with the geozite tool. You may find its purpose within Cabils' warriors guild. I've been hunting for three days for the poems i have three parts of the poem i need one ive killed like 50 thieves but still no hope of the last part pls help me

While playing my Iskar warrior I decided to do this quest. For some reason I got the impression I needed to complete all 3 of them FB, SoNH and WW. But you actually only need to do one. Just do the FB and get the tool. All the others aren't worth the time and effort. Militia skeletons aren't that rare a pop and always drop what you need. I spent days trying to get shackles and succeeded in only getting one, while the FB took me 15 minutes. Helped that I already had 2 in the bank before Istarted, but still.

When you give Vygan the scorpion pincer bag he gives you a note for one of the warlords. The name at the end of the note is 'Lord something' not 'Warlord something' but it is the same person.
The militia skeleton quest is the only one of the four that doesn't drive you nuts so unless the note Vygan gives you is for 'Lord Vyzz' (FoB one) then destroy the note and keep doing the scorpion quest bit again until you get it.
The militia skels seem to me to spawn mostly in the wooded areas to right or left of the FoB newby area but don't search for them - just hunt normally in FoB from level 4 onwards and have a quick look around the newby area when going to and from the merchants to sell loot. You will easily spot 4 during the time (from level 4) when you can kill them to the time you need the geozite tool for the footman's pike (level 8-10).

I had the same problem many of the posters had. Once I got the scroll, I didn't who to take it to. It turns out that if you're in fullscreen mode, you can't read the note. Hit F10 to get to the other mode and right click on the scroll to get more info.

If you read the note it tells you the name of the person you have to give it too. Its really not that hard to figure out which one needs the note.

Does anyone know what lvl the thieves are? I dont want to waste time searching all over for them if they are too high. Im only lvl 9 and every other char in the zone is at least lvl 20.

The thieves are not that high cause when I wen't down the tunnel(what a stupid idea) I died in the tunnel and some other guy was getting my corpse and while I was waiting around a thief walked by and started hitting me(remember I have no armor on, it is on corpse in tunnel) and I kill it easy at level 9.

People keep asking where to take the note. From what I know you randomly have to take the note to one of the War Lords. You can find out which one by looking at it (right click). That will tell you precisly which one to go to.

I've gotten the letter about 7 times now and all it ever says is take it to the Lord of the Outter Gates. I've tried all of the above listed people at least once but nothing. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Someone needs to fix this quest.

Me too i have killed like ten of these guys and the first thgree i killed and the rest of them said i already had this lore item. the poems are different though because i read them and they are all different. But the part i dont understand is that i can find the first three but i can not find the forth one. I have found that the goblin thieves spawn to the left of the merchants on top of a hill about once an EQ day around 5 A.M.

I have found the spawn point... well, I at least took down a loc code for each spot I have seen one. Coming out of E. Cabilis down the path, turn left at the newbie area. You will come to a ruined building at loc (-1052, 2194, -51). The first skele I killed was near loc (1249, 2275, -34). I know I should have taken a third loc to triangulate, but I was pretty sure when I killed a third. Hope this helps.

where do i find these slave shackles at? I've hunted in SoNH for a while now and havent found any froglok slaves there. Is there a specific spot where u need to hunt 4 them?

O no, not the slave shackles again! The memories, the memories! For the Iks Nec skullcap quests, the third one required getting these shackles, and learning smithing and brewing... but I won't go into that. RARE spawn!! When you leave Cab, follow the trail that heads to the right. Pass the three pillars, and swim out to the first island. Go to the right, and camp the channal there. They usually spawn around 8 a.m., but don't kill the escorts. I've heard they also appear at the above loc. Listen for the hopping noises!!

I have seen them along the path leading to the Iksar Bandit camp. The path can be reached by going left/cloclwise along the shore line as soon as you get to the water after zoning in to SoNH. I killed several of these guys while doing a quest for my SK weapon upgrade, but just destroyed the dang stuff because noone would answer my shouts for people that needed them. Oh well. Be carefull of what level you do this at. The Iksar camp at the end of the path has some pretty tough mobs for a lvl 20-something.

Wow, I am surprised to see as many postings as there are! I am new to EQ and my first character is an Iksar Warrior. Now, I am trying to do these quests the best I can but I have a problem. This geozite tool. I get the letter from Vygan and he says to give it to the "Lord of the outer gates." When I look at the note it says "note for Iksar lord". Ok, so first I tried the Warlord in FoB. That wasn't him. Then I tried the Warlord in SoNH and that wasn't it. Do I have to give it to the warlord in Ill Omen, or is there a real "Iksar lord" somewhere I don't know about?? Please help.

I found 3 different poems one after the other. The 4th took like 3-4 more kills of 'Goblin Thiefs' to get. Each poem is different, just right click on em and they'll tell you a different part of the love poem. Hope this info helps my fello adventurers. Good Luck!

The location of the Malitia Skeleton Spawn. In the field of bone map follow the path till u get to the desert then follow the edge of the desert to your right about 5 seconds then head up to the grassy platue up to your right. I killed a bunch of malitia skels there. Good Luck.

I cant get all four poems. they all look the same. i see absolutely no difference in the dropped poems but after finding over eight of them so far only three have let me pick them up to store. Says you already have that Lore item. I have found the thieves in the open field when you take a left out of Cabilis right off the tiles.

No need to look far, i have found them on the lefthand side of the road, heading out from the main gate. You will see a Trooper, guarding the road and beyond him, they wander around, rather close to the merchant area. They are usually surrounded by wandering scouts and the occasional low level goblin caster, but mostly skeletons. Recommend you are at least 5 or so, and have a friend tag along for backup. Not that the thieves are tough, but just to make the whole thing easier.

I also received this part of the quest, but when he explains about the goblin thieves he also says that they "appear around these walls." maybe they spawn near the buildings???

I just started doing the wpn quests at lvl 37 after I found out how to multi-quest to get another newbie wpn that I sold away. I have been soloing the WW giants and camping Grachnist and Pit Fighter Dob (not solo) for a long time and I have hunted all over the entire zone and have never seen anything like a poem. I have asked in /ooc if anybody EVER even HEARD of ANY goblin dropping a poem, and no-one has ever seen one. I figured I would just throw out the book and go get 2 pincers again but I got this same quest from Vygan again. I guess I will destroy it and try again.

.... Ok, I've been searching Warslik's woods for a while now and I can't find any either? Can anyone give me any advice? Better yet, has anyone actually DONE this particular mini-quest? well back to looking for these goblin thieves =P

Well, I start hunting them, tonight.. I noticed the date on your post, if you found anything I would appreciate hearing it :) and I will gladly post what I find on them... this sub-quest, correct?
(1) He gives you a note to deliver to Lord Vyzer in Warslik. It appears some goblin thieves have stolen some pages from a poem he once wrote. He seeks the return of the pages (giving you a 4 slot contain book to fill), and promises the tool upon completion of the task.
