NOTE: A patch on March 25, 2015, added a work-around to obtain items from Cazic Thule, Dread, Fright, and Terror:

- In the Plane of Fear, a harbinger of Fear can help adventurers get their epic 1.0 pieces that would normally drop from Cazic-Thule or the golems. These pieces cannot be multi-quested or traded. In addition, a harbinger of Fear can advance the Whistling Fists quest in the same way as Cazic-Thule.

Furthermore, a patch on April 22, 2015, added a work-around to obtain bottleneck items from Phinigel Autropos (Kedge Keep), Gorenaire (Dreadlands), and Talendor (Skyfire Mountains).

- In Kedge Keep, a harbinger of the seas can help adventurers get their epic 1.0 pieces that would normally drop from Phinigel Autropos.
- In Dreadlands, a harbinger of frost can help adventurers get their epic 1.0 pieces that would normally drop from Gorenaire.
- In Skyfire Mountains, a harbinger of flame can help adventurers get their epic 1.0 pieces that would normally drop from Talendor.

Full Walkthrough

The Warrior Epic quest begins with both Kargek Redblade and Wenden Blackhammer in East Freeport (click for map image). They can be found under a gazebo at -1300, -380 (just inside the North Ro gate).

Red Scabbard

Find Kargek Redblade in East Freeport.

You say, 'Hail, Kargek Redblade'

Kargek Redblade looks up from his forge and says, 'Hello there, can I help you?' Your eyes are drawn to an extremely large red sword scabbard strapped to his back with no sword in it. Kargek speaks again, 'I said, can I help you or do you need help from Wenden?'

You say, 'Tell me about that scabbard.'

Kargek Redblade turns to look at you and says, 'It is a family heirloom. I might tell you the story behind it if you do me a little favor.'

You say, 'What favor?'

Kargek Redblade says 'An associate of mine is wandering somewhere in the Feerrott. His name is Oknoggin Stonesmacker. If you will deliver this note to him, I would appreciate it.'

You receive a Wax Sealed Note. Take this to Oknoggin Stonesmaker in the Feerrott at 800, 1140 (by the main bridge across the river). Upon hand-in:

Oknoggin Stonesmaker snatches the note from your hand and rips it open with your large hands. 'You take dis to Kargek. He want!' Oknoggin says, as he throws a tiny lute at you.

You receive a Tiny Lute. Run back to East Freeport and give the Tiny Lute to Kargek Redblade to receive a book called Redblade's Legacy.

Kargek Redblade says 'Thank you for delivering the note to my associate. Take this book - it will tell you a little of the history of the old scabbard. If you would like to own the scabbard, seek out my younger brother Tenal and give him the book.'

You gain experience!!

Take the book over to his brother in East Karana - Tenal Redblade, who is at the very end of the canyon next to the ramp to Highpass.

You say, 'Hail, Tenal Redblade'

Tenal Redblade says 'What brings you to my home, ______? Do you seek knowledge of Rallos Zek and the great wars to come?'

Hand him the book.

Tenal Redblade says 'So, you know my brother Kargek. He is weak and does not believe the legend that our family was chosen by Rallos Zek to bear the great scabbard. Yet he still holds it. Very well, I shall give you the first test since my 'dear' brother seems to have forgotten it. Travel to the fortress where the children of Rallos were first cursed by the Rathe and bring me the heart of one of the goblins who have made it their new home. Do not return without the heart of your foe and this war totem.'

You gain experience!!

You receive a Frozen War Totem.

Go back to East Karana and hand Tenal the Totem of the Freezing War and a Heart of Frost.

Tenal Redblade says 'Very good, you have wreaked havoc on your foes in the ancient land of the giants. Rallos Zek must have guided your blade.' Tenal's voice is suddenly silenced and you feel as if your body is frozen. From Tenal's lips issues a voice that is not his own, 'Bring this mortal the scales of the children of Veeshan. The red and green as well as my war totem. I will guide your blade.' Your movement returns as Tenal falls to the ground, gasping for breath.'
You gain experience!!

He'll give you a Totem of Fiery War.

Now get yourself a Green and Red Dragonscale (from Severilous in Emerald Jungle, and Nagafen in Naggy's Lair respectively).

Go back to Tenal Redblade and give him the Totem of Fiery War, the Green Dragon Scale and the Red Dragon Scale.

Tenal Redblade looks at you oddly as you hand him the scales. 'What are..? You have done well, mortal, and you will be rewarded if you are truly brave. Travel to the Plane of Hatred and slay the ancient bard who lives there. Do not return without his hand and this mark or you will never be a true warlord.' Tenal drops to the ground as the last words leave his lips.
You gain experience!!

You receive The Mark of the Sword.

You'll now need to go to the Plane of Hate and kill the Hand of the Maestro (note: Hand is now pullable without having to kill Maestro of Rancor). You need to loot the hand, which is a rare drop. Bring that back and give it to Tenal along with the mark.

Tenal Redblade looks horrified as you give him the hand of the Maestro of Rancor and show him the mark of the sword. The godlike voice returns, 'You have done well to acquire this. One final task must be completed before you hold the red scabbard in your mortal hands.' Tenal reaches out and hands you a note. 'Take this note and a wingblade of the spiriocs to Kargek. When he receives them, I will speak to you one last time.'

You receive Tenal`s note to Kargek.

You now need a Spiroc Wingblade from the Spiroc Lord in the Plane of Sky. Take the Wingblade and the note to Kargek where he gives you the Red Scabbard and instructions on how to combine the Ancient Blade, Ancient Sword Blade, Finely Crafted Dragon Head Hilt, and Jeweled Dragon Head Hilt.

Kargek Redblade says 'What is this? A note from my brother? Thank you for the gift as well.' Kargek reads the note and hands you the huge sword hilt. Your mind is filled with the sound of battle and a voice. 'Place the ancient sword blade, ancient blade, finely crafted dragon head hilt and the jeweled dragon head hilt into the scabbard to receive your rewards. If you think you are worthy, place your rewards into the scabbard and see what havoc you can unleash on the world. Kargek addresses you as you turn to leave. 'One more thing. Gartrog over there has told me of a great discovery. Seems there are all sorts of stones being found in the recently discovered lost dungeons scattered around Antonica. The Wayfarer's Brotherhood has found a way to make items even more powerful by using the stones with existing items.'

You gain experience!!

Ancient Sword Blade

Talk to Denken Strongpick on Aviak Island in the Ocean of Tears.

You say, 'Hail, Denken Strongpick'

Denken Strongpick says 'Hello, ______. I am Denken Strongpick. I wish I could get off this rock, silly clan honor. My boss broke our rebreathers and we can not go back to the mainland before we gather some goblin relics.'

You say, 'What goblin relics?'

Denken Strongpick says 'There are supposedly goblin ruins around here somewhere. Fendlemend thinks we will find paydirt underwater. We did find one thing.'

You say, 'What did you find?'

Denken Strongpick says 'We found a very fine sword blade.' Denken pulls open his pack and shows you a razor sharp sword covered with runes. 'I can't figure out what type of metal it is and I sure can't figure out what technique was used to forge it. Perhaps you would like to take it off my hands and [buy] it?'

You say, 'I will buy it.'

Denken Strongpick says 'Out here, money is fairly useless to me. You see, I can't leave Fendlemend out here alone. I signed on with a very detailed contract. I could sure [use] a few things from the mainland though.'

You say, 'What could you use?'

Denken Strongpick says 'I would be willing to part with this very fine blade for; a keg of Vox tail ale, a block of permafrost to keep it cool and two new rebreathers to get this operation back underway.'

a) A Keg of Vox Tail ale - bought from alot of vendors around the world. A good place to buy one is the sandfishers in North Ro or the Freeport Port Authority.

b) A Block Of Permafrost - Dropped by Ice Giants. (while you're here, kill some goblin wizards until you find a frozen goblin heart -- you'll need it later).

c) Two Rebreathers - Tinkered by Gnomes. Expect to drop as much as 4k for getting two rebreathers.

Turn the Rebreathers, Keg of Vox Tail Ale, and the Block of Permafrost in to Denken:

Denken Strongpick says 'Excellent! Here is your sword. I feel like I'm at home already!'
You gain experience!!

You get the Ancient Sword Blade.

Ancient Blade

The Ancient Blade is dropped by the Queen of Chardok. Bring along a large group of friends.

Finely Crafted Dragon Head Hilt

Head to the chessboard in Timorous Deep. At the base of the King piece you'll find a Severely Damaged Dragon Head Hilt. Head back to Wenden.

You say, 'Hail, Wenden Blackhammer'

Wenden Blackhammer says 'What do you need? Be specific, I'm busy right now!'

You say, 'I have a Severely Damaged Dragon Head Hilt.'

Wenden Blackhammer says 'Where in the world did you drag that up?!' Denken peers closely at the severely damaged dragon head hilt. 'This metal is the same material that some mages use to make powerful golems and this other metal looks like rejesiam ore. If you can find some of those materials, I can fix this hilt up easily.'

You say, 'What kind of golems?'

Wenden Blackhammer says 'That metal is used as the 'soul' of powerful magical constructions like golems. I do not know any place in this world where you could find a golem with a living center as powerful as this once was.'

You say, 'What is rejesiam ore?'

Wenden Blackhammer says 'Rejesiam ore is from the lands of Kunark. The mountain giants in the frontier mountains control the only known mine of this great ore. They have built a vast fortress around the mine to protect it. The giants don't particularly like to trade with us smaller folks, but there is one old miner named Mentrax Mountainbone who has traded with me in the past. Go find him and tell him Wenden sent you.'

You'll also need a Ball of Everliving Golem. This drops from the named golems in the Plane of Fear: Fright, Dread and Terror. Since a march 2015 patch, you may also get it from a harbinger of Fear if the golems are not up.

Now go to the Dreadlands, to the giant fort just west of Karnor's Castle. You need to kill the Mountain Giant Patriarch and loot a Giant Sized Monocle. Take the Monocle to Frontier Mountains. Get to the giant fort and get inside. When you get to the very end of the Mine you will see the giant named Mentrax Mountainbone.

You say, 'Hail, Mentrax Mountainbone'

Mentrax Mountainbone says 'What be it you want! Go away before I eat you for dinner!'

You say, 'Wenden sent me.'

Mentrax Mountainbone says 'Oh, old Wenden? I guess you be wanting some ore. Well, you can't have none! Not unless you get me a new monocle. No. No. No. Don't even try to talk, you either bring me a new monocle that will fit or no ore for you!'

Hand him the Monocle.

Mentrax Mountainbone says 'Eh, you actually found one! Thank you, ______. Here is a block of ore for you. Just don't let the other giants know.'
You gain experience!!

You receive Rejesiam Ore.

Now run back to East Freeport with the Rejesiam Ore, Ball of Everliving Golem and Damaged Dragon Head Hilt. Give these to Wenden.

Wenden Blackhammer begins to work and hammer away at the hilt pounding the new material into it. You can see the metal shifting and moving in ways you have never seen metal move before. Wenden wipes his brow as he hands you a fantastic looking hilt.

You receive a Finely Crafted Dragon Head Hilt.

Jeweled Dragon Head Hilt

Head to Lake Rathe and pick up an Unjeweled Dragon Head Hilt. It can be found on the lake floor at +2513, +920, underneath the aviak tower. Then head back to Wenden.

You say, 'Hail, Wenden Blackhammer'

Wenden Blackhammer says 'What do you need? Be specific, I'm busy right now!'

You say, 'I have an Unjeweled Dragon Head Hilt.'

Wenden Blackhammer says 'That just looks like it's missing some gems. I'm not quite sure what type of gems either but I can tell you two things about them just by the settings. They were all different, and they all were very, very expensive. If I try to put the wrong kind of gems in these slots, it may be ruined forever. I'll do whatever you want, though, just bring me the three gems you want me to try and put in the hilt.'

You'll need to get a Diamond, Black Sapphire, and Jacinth. They drop in various zones (Sebilis, Planes) and can almost always be found for sale in The Bazaar.

Take the Unjeweled Dragon Head Hilt, Diamond, Jacinth, and Black Sapphire to Wenden:

Wenden Blackhammer begins to fiddle with the hilt, gently pressing the gems into place. It seems to take forever as you watch in silence. Wenden slowly places the last gem in place and gently bends the settings to hold the gems before he hands it back to you. 'That's a very impressive looking hilt there. The material it is made out of seems strangely familiar,' Wenden says as he turns back to his forge and his other work.

You receive a Jeweled Dragon Head Hilt.

Assembling the Sword

As originally instructed, place the Ancient Sword Blade, Ancient Blade, Finely Crafted Dragon Head Hilt and the Jeweled Dragon Head Hilt into the Red Scabbard to receive your rewards.

Combining the Jagged Blade of War in the Red Scabbard splits it into the Blade of Strategy and the Blade of Tactics. Combine the two blades in the Red Scabbard to get the two-handed version again.

Don't quote me on this, but I have the oddest feeling the swords are called Heart and Soul, and combine to make Heartsoul. Just an old druid's whacked out thought. Go figure.

well is seems that to get this lovely toy it takes at least TWO dragons on my killed sheet to acquire it. so I Gues the question is. what does it take to wack a dragon?
I'm talking numbers, classes/races, equipment(crappy, average, twinked even for a 60th :) )
My guidl currently too low level to wack dragons as well as being only 10-20 people strong so we'll have to get allies for it but I need advice. Any GOOD advice preferably.

P.S no "hit the dragon with a BIG sword" is not good advice

The only thing in my mind that you could do is hope to get into a dragon raid by yourself, or set up an alliance with a guild or two similar to yours, that way you can ammas the amount of people. Basically you are going to need a couple of enchanters, about 5 or so good nukers, a couple buffers(druids, shamans) and a bunch of tanks, and healers. At least on quellious most people go in with a number of 30 or more. That might help a little. It all depends on what you have available...

as of right now... even though we were promised that all the quests were checked to work with every race and deity combination... they didnt manage to do it all.

according to Borce, E'ci, he finally located the keg of vox tail ale.... on the test server. sold from a merchant in halas for about 110pp.... but not on any of the live servers (or at least not ours)

and if you want to try and get it fixed, give it a bump.

Okay one question for you man? Do you honestly expect to loot a red and a green dragon scale if you arent in an UBER GUILD? I mean come on all the new quests are slanted insanely toward the UBER GUILDS anyway. Join one or you might as well forget seeing the weapons anytime soon.
RE: Vox Tail Ale
# Sep 22 2000 at 9:35 PM Rating: Default
Man, I strongly suggest you rethink that idea... I am not in an "Uberguild", nor are any of my friends, and i PERSONALLY know 4 people that currently own a Red Dragon Scale BP, and not a single one got it through trades. My guild participates on Dragon runs on a regular basis, and we dont go with "Uberguilds". The belief that nothing in EQ past lvl 40 is possible without being in an enormous and extremely powerful guild is complete BS. at MAX, my guild has 50 members... total. Thats alts and everything (and trust me... there are a LOT of alts). How bout you quit trying to shoot everyone else hopes down and get a freakin life...

RE: Vox Tail Ale
# Sep 24 2000 at 8:05 AM Rating: Default
The Vox Tail Ale is broken. It didnt get patched over and is only available on Test. The Skyfire dragon isnt impossible to kill without a huge guild... WTF is everyones problem?? A Dragon run does NOT, i repeat, does NOT have to be done by one and only one guild. Bring your friends, have the family tag along. Get your mom to whack him with a wooden spoon. Just because they arent in your guild doesnt mean they cannot go on the run. The coding will allow this, trust me, ive tried. Major raids wouldnt be possible if you couldnt take other guilds along... Remember, it pays to have strong friends.

heh, Cazic Thule server has proven you dont' need an uber guild. We have an alliance of 9 small guilds (avg of about 6-8 people 46+ in each) that's done planes, dragons, killed gods. There are even people that will start up scrub groups for planes where all are welcome. It's just a matter of someone getting around and accualy doing a bit of work.

Im ogre, and having to run all over for some pathetic midgit race that cant get off an island enrages me to the point ill just behead the tiny, about to be eaten mass of flesh.

How about any of the other NPCs, warriors dont run around and get told what to do, we are machines of combat! Kill or be killed!

the bard guy is a sissy. i didnt finish him off because i couldnt take the faction hit, but the guy with the rapier in his hand in SRo was red at 45 but only hit for 90s. He didnt have a lot of HP, i did 450 dmg to him and it dropped him down about 1/4 of his life. Try killing him to see if they drop stuff for the quest. Oh, and he didnt summon, id have had to kill him if he did.

what it may be is u do the quest for 1 blade and hilt for the 2hander and can split it
this quest is hard enough without finding two blades/hilts

Think about it. The scabbard requires a red scale and a green scale. Would make sense that there would be a red sword and a green sword that are combined in the scabbard.

Bout Half of quest
# Sep 21 2000 at 10:19 PM Rating: Decent
I'm going to divulge info pertaining to what I've heard is only half the quest, and I haven't gotten any other info from these people either =(.

You need a scabbard, 2 blades, and 2 hilts to do this quest. So far the scabbard and 1blade/hilt have been solved, but no idea how to assemble it.

Scabbard - Kargek Redblade in EFP, he's on a ledge over the area leading to the shadowknight guild. Hail him and he gives you a letter to give to Oknoggin in feerott. He's near one of the bridges there. give letter and he gives somethign to return to Kargek. Kargek gives you a book, and tells you to give it to his brother, Telan in EK. He's below the huge ramp there. Give that to him and you get a totem. He wants that totem back, along with 2 scales, one from naggy/talendor and one from serilivious(sp?). I haven't killed serilivious yet so I'm stuck here. (gonna need 500 peeps on server to drop him =(..)

First Hilt - In Lake Rathe Tear right below the aviak tower/platform thingy. straight down, it's called 'unjeweled dragon head', bring that back to the guy next to Kargek and also a black sapphire, a diamond and a jacinth. He'll repair it for you.

Second Hilt - Timorous Deep, chessboard, near king spawn. Talk to wenden again, and he says he needs 2 metals. Rejesiam ore and Golem Metal. A giant in FM has the Ore, but he wants Monocle. this is confirmed to be dropped by Giant Patriarchs, in Dreadlands. Golem Metal is actually off of the bosses in Plane of Fear(sorry all you under 46 trying to do the quest).

First Blade - Go to OOT, there's a dwarf on the aviak island now. Talk to him, he says he has a 'jagged blade' or something like that. He wants 2 rebreathers, a keg of vox tail ale, and a block of permafrost. The rebreathers are tinkered items, cost a litlte bit of cash. It's thought that the ale is made from vox tail, perhaps a new drop by Vox(never seen it before), and Permafrost block is dropped by IG's INSIDE permafrost, it's really rare, and only INSIDE mind you.

Second Blade - This is where I'm stuck, I had school tonight so I didn't have time to search through zones to try to find npc's =). I also have to get a few items that arent easy to come by (vox tail, red dragon scale, green dragon scale.) Have any questions just post, I'll be happy to answer to best of my knowledge. Oooh btw This is a nice site I found with pic's of ALL the weapons. http://members.aol.com/rsteven187/

Not sure if this will help and if it has anything to do with the quest, but wanted to put my two cents in just in case it comes to something. There are 2 Barb warriors at the Qeynos bank. One inside, one out.

Wenden assembles the blades. He is found in fp with Kargek. He doesn't give you clues as to what to ask him but if you ask him about the hilt he says what is the name? When you tell him the unjeweled Dragon Head hilt (the one from lake rathe) He tells you it requires 3 gems, each different and each very very expensive. The 3 gems are diamond, black sapphire and jacinthe. He says he will repair the hilt if you give these to him. I imagine he would give you details about the other hilt and the blades if you give him the appropriate names.

As for Tenel's first quest, it is a heart of frost. I happened to have one in the bank and tried it out. Give him back his first totem and the heart and you get a new totem and the quest for red and green dragon scales. The gems are dropped in the planes I think so they won't be much easier to get than the scales for us low levels.

The 2 swords are obviously a green one and a red one, when combined in the scabbard who knows what they will look like but they sure as hell will look nicer than the crap us warriors have been forced to carry around up until now.

The "Unjeweled Dragon Hilt" is directly below the Aviak Tower in Lake Rathetear. It just sits on the bottom, and looks like a little bag. It will spawn or pop about every 15 min or so. A friend and I got two in a row (one each).

Hilt spawn is automatic. I dove around for 10 minutes and my ranger friend picked it up (schmuck) so we sat at the bottom and less than five minutes later it popped again. It is a bag, not a shiny object. I posted the exact location somewhere on the boards.

Tenal's quest
# Sep 21 2000 at 6:39 PM Rating: Default
Once I talked to Tenal I was given a totem and told to bring it and a heart back to him from a goblin. He said that these goblins from rathe or some such cursed the people of rallos zek. Now, the rallos zek followers are ogres and orcs. I figured, Lake Rathe, Goblins in Lake Rathe? Also, one of the people (I believe) that received the red scabbard was an ogre and an ogre is also in the previous part of the quest. There are also orc camps in lake rathe so this seems to make since. I've swam below the island with three spawns on it and killed a few goblins (nearly drowning) and didn't see any hearts drop. Anyone know where to find these hearts for Tenal or have any suggestions on where else to look?

I am a Ranger of the 32nd season on The Rathe server. Toaday as I finsished running down the long ramo that leads to HighPass I noticed a named NPC I had never seen befor. His name was Felonius Sworddancer. I stoped and talked to him. He gave me some speech about being a story teller. I followed the obvious promps and got some lame story about a Gnome who cried Kobalt. Then after I rehailed him I asked him about The Ogres he had metioned. This led to a story about some Great Ogre Warrior who had some grerat sword given to him by Rallos Zek himself. As the stroy progressed it seems that the Ogre messed up and upset Zek, so Zek wasted him and them broke the sowrd up into pieces and scattered them around Norrath. He also mentioned some little Ogre that has the Scarlet or Red Scabbard used to put the sword back together. Hope this helps. Once again the NPC was at the bottom of the ranp leadding to HHK in east Karana.

Unjeweled Dragon Head Hilt
# Sep 21 2000 at 12:07 PM Rating: Default
While running this quest (down to the 2 scales - that will take forever) I also ran the unjeweled Dragon Head Hilt quest with the NPC that spawns with Kargek (Wenden Blackhammer). I got the unjeweled dragon head hilt in lake rathe (not to hard to find, just need endure Breath) and spoke with Wenden about it. He says you need 3 gems, each different and each very, very expensive. Anyone have an idea as to what the gems are? I don't want to buy 3 and ***** it up, race back to lake rathe, get the hilt again and try over and over until I get it right.

RE: Unjeweled Dragon Head Hilt
# Sep 21 2000 at 1:26 PM Rating: Default
The Story says "Black Sapphires, Diamonds and Jacinths"

Hilt + 1 of each make up the 4 quest item slots you can give an NPC.

The real question is: Who do you give those items to?
RE: Unjeweled Dragon Head Hilt
# Sep 21 2000 at 4:32 PM Rating: Default

The first hilt is found in Lake Rathetear on the bottom of the lake directly below the aviak platform. Find that and take it to Wenden Blackhammer (who stands right next to Kargek Redblade in EFP). Ask him about the hilt, tell him you need one repaired, and give him the name of the hilt and he will tell you what he needs to repair it in this case 3 gems. If you listened to the bard (Fellonious whatever in EK) you know the swords had diamonds, Black sapphires and jacinths on their hilts give Wenden the hilt and one of each of these and he will return the repaired hilt to you.

Several folks have already posted that dubious seems to work ok with Kargek Redblade, but I also noticed that several of the quest givers for other classes won't even talk to you if you are below 49/50th lvl.

Tonight, someone was looking for Redblade in FP and I happened upon him at the zone (obviously someone tried to whack him and zoned, or he didn't like someone, who zoned). At any rate, I'm a 44th lvl enchanter and dont recall the faction (probably indifferent), but was able to talk to him about the quest and get the note (just out of curiousity... I obviously have no use for the note).

I have no idea if later NPCs in the quest have level restrictions, but this guy, at least, didn't.

And I was dubious to Ognoggon and in my full troll glory when I handed in the letter so that works fine too.

The following is copied from my post in the "Quest"ions and Answers forum:

FELONIUS SWORDDANCER
New NPC in East Karana at the bottom of the ramp to Highhold

Tells a long-winded story about the Ogre Champion Suteng who was given twin swords by Rallos-Zek himself. In a nutshell, Suteng was overcome by bloodlust and got himself killed, the pieces of the swords are scattered and the Red Scabbard is held by Suteng's youngest child. There was an additional story about the gnome who cried kobold, but Broon started wailing on me so I ran :P (I think Felonius stands just a tad too close to Broon's aggro range on Broon's little walk from his spawnpoint so be careful about standing there too long).

There are two new NPCs on aviak isle in oot. Fendlemend Figlefop, a gnome, mentions a "silly sword blade" he found while excavating for goblin artifacts. He mentions giving the blade to his dwarven excavator Denken. Upon asking Denken Strongpick about the sword, he shows you a "razor sharp sword covered in runes" and asks if you want to buy it. Saying he has no need for money, he offers to trade the sword for "a keg of Vox tail ale, a block of permafrost to keep it cool, and two new rebreathers". That's all I know as of right now.
--------------------------------------
REBREATHERS are a high end Tinkering item that costs approx 900pp to make, not sure on trivial but it's pretty high. See Fulcrum's Tinkering Compendium at http://www.eqportal.com/tinkering

KEG OF VOX TAIL ALE - Sounds like a new high end Brewing item probably requiring a tail drop from Vox herself. This is new to me and I'm up-to-date on the Brewing recipes. See http://www.eqtraders.com

BLOCK OF PERMAFROST - Smithing or Alchemy item???? dunno

<<REBREATHERS are a high end Tinkering item that costs approx 900pp to make, not sure on trivial but it's pretty high. See Fulcrum's Tinkering Compendium at http://www.eqportal.com/tinkering >>

Someone on my server interpreted this posting as meaning that a rebreather should cost approximately 1000 pp to buy, and that charging more was "ripping warriors off." I don't know anyone who sells them for that; I certainly can't. This item (at 911 pp per attempt) is the highest level tinkered item in game at this time, it's the only known way to advance tinkering from 148 to 200, and there are a lot of failures in making it. Getting to the skill level to make it also costs the earth in platinum (check the prices at windmill 3 on tinkering ingredients sometime), and on any server it's likely only a few people will have put in the time and cash to do it. According to eqprices.com, the average price on rebreathers is 3500 pp (predating the warrior quest). Based on the design of the skill and cost of this item's ingredients, a tinkerer charging that for a rebreather isn't trying to "rip you off" based on the quest. Just an FYI.

I think you saw the Swords of Guidance, and decided that you saw something else. The blue sparks are the GM sword particles.. Why would they do something lame, like stick the same graphic on a new weapon? They put these in, so people could feel special, not so they could copy something they already had.

STATS & FACTION
# Sep 20 2000 at 11:02 PM Rating: Default
2 part question here....everyone talks about this new weapon, where can we find the stats for it?
2nd part, this seems in part to be revolving around freeport, and that the case are iksars, trolls and ogres just SOL on this thing? i mean, faction is obviously gonna play a part in this and so is this pretty much reserved for people who played a "good" warrior? if so i think its bull@#$
RE: STATS & FACTION
# Sep 20 2000 at 11:48 PM Rating: Decent
To the first part of your question... there is nowhere to see the stats until someone gets the weapon. Days at best, weeks more likely.

As for the second part of your question... I play a troll warrior who has made great efforts to raise faction in most good cities. Even as a worshiper of Rallos Zek the key NPCs in this quest con Dubious. However that seams to be enough. So far no "I will do nothing to aid your kind" type messages. I can bank in freeport, and even the freeport militia only cons apprehensive. Maybe if you can get in invised, there is a safe corner where you can con them from without aggroing anyone.

Personally, I am not the same fellow that started this thread, but I feel that there should be both evil and good routes to the same or even different weapons for the same class. I've never felt comfortable with the fact that an evil has to do 'good' (raise faction), or sneak around good cities and get stuff from good or indiff folks surrounded by good guard guys.
