NOTE: A patch on April 22, 2015, added a work-around to obtain bottleneck items from Phinigel Autropos (Kedge Keep), Gorenaire (Dreadlands), and Talendor (Skyfire Mountains), including the Torn Books required in the "Fiery Avenger" side quest.

- In Kedge Keep, a harbinger of the seas can help adventurers get their epic 1.0 pieces that would normally drop from Phinigel Autropos.
- In Dreadlands, a harbinger of frost can help adventurers get their epic 1.0 pieces that would normally drop from Gorenaire.
- In Skyfire Mountains, a harbinger of flame can help adventurers get their epic 1.0 pieces that would normally drop from Talendor.

Full Walkthrough

Irak Altil

Irak Altil is an indifferent skeleton who wanders the Plane of Fear. He has an emote he gives off occasionally.

Irak Altil moans and continues to shamble across the barren landscape, oblivious to the monstrosities surrounding it. It mumbles to itself softly.

You say, 'Hail, Irak Altil'

Irak Altil turns its head upon its dried, cracked spine to look at you with a rictus grin. After staring through you it continues to walk on.

You say, 'What are you mumbling about?'

Irak Altil turns its rotted eyesockets towards you. 'Fallen light, upon this ground I fell. Left to rot, cast out. My holy arms stripped and my soul cast out of the halls. Twisted, failed, disgraced.'

You say, 'Why are you disgraced?'

Irak Altil says 'Disgrace upon my soul for failing in my duties. Disgrace of my brethren.'

You say, 'What duties?'

Irak Altil breathes his words from his skeletal mouth as if wind through a valley. 'Sword, shield, breastplate. Twisted to Innoruuks foul will. Must be retrieved and cleansed else my soul is to wander for all time.'

You say, 'What sword?'

Irak Altil says 'Hands of a twisted brother no longer living.'

You say, 'What shield?'

Irak Altil says 'Earthly children of the god of hate. Keeping stand over his dark brothers and sisters.'

You say, 'What breastplate?'

Irak Altil lets loose an unearthly howl as it gleams with sickly light. 'Upon she who lured me from my post. In that place where hatred festers. Painful corruption.'

You say, 'How can they be cleansed?'

Irak Altil says 'The sword must be dipped in water pure. Light of clean spirit to cleanse the shield. A gem of clarity unlike any other for the breastplate. All must be cleansed and returned to the temple for my soul to be freed. Only the temple can cleanse, only they can touch the artifacts. Take the sets of two to the temple. When they are all three cleansed separately take them to him who will grant me atonement.'

Reklon Gnallen

Your clue is the key word "atonement." Find Reklon Gnallen in the Temple of Quellious in Erudin.

You say, 'Hail, Reklon Gnallen'

Reklon Gnallen says 'Hail to you friend. Seek you knowledge or atonement in this temple of peace?'

You say, 'I seek atonement'

Reklon Gnallen says 'Yes. Many are those who enter these halls seeking the forgiveness, the atonement of a god. By turning their spirit against whatever wrong they have committed they may be able to receive redemption in the eyes of their diety. Many seek such a thing, but few truly have the strength of spirit to attain it.'

You say, 'What temple of peace?'

Reklon Gnallen says 'Dedicated to the god of peace, Quellious, is this temple. It is here that her clerics and paladins pray and receive inspiration.'

You say, 'What paladins?'

Reklon Gnallen says 'As the clerics are the warm hand of healing, the paladins are the stalwart shield of protection, and in times of grave need the sharp sword of justice. To our post must we always remain vigilant else dishonor might befall us.'

You say, 'I wish to remain vigilant.'

Reklon Gnallen says 'To a paladin the upholding of his duty, or honor to his temple is foremost. To fail in his duty to stand at his assigned post in time of need is a great disgrace. Few are the paladins who have done so, and their spirits have been outcast from the god of peace.'

You say, 'What outcast?'

Reklon Gnallen says 'Harsh though it seems, a true paladin must always remain vigilant and dedicated to his cause. If he does not then he might find himself fallen from grace.'

You say, 'Who has fallen from grace?'

Reklon Gnallen says 'There are a few who have done so. Only a few that come to mind. Such stories are useful to remember as reminders of our beliefs.'

You say, 'What stories?'

Reklon Gnallen says 'One is the story of the paladin who fell due to his weakness in the duty of his guard post.'

No prompts here seem to lead to further text.

Intermediate dialogue needed.

You say, 'what peasant woman?'

Reklon Gnallen says 'Many hundreds of years ago did this story begin. There was a paladin, whose name is lost to all but our oldest leaders, who was among the greatest examples of honor. It was his post to guard the chambers to our most important halls. His fall was a creature in the guise of a poor peasant woman.'

No other prompts seemed to move this along.

Tainted and Gleaming Items

Remember, Irak Altil said, "Only the temple can cleanse, only they can touch the artifacts. Take the sets of two to the temple. When they are all three cleansed separately take them to he who will grant me atonement."

Irak Altil failed his duty as a guard for the Paladins of Quellious and was cast out from his Temple. To release him from exile, you need to obtain, purify and return a tainted darksteel sword, shield and breastplate.

What Irak means is that only the Temple of Quellious in Erudin, to which he once belonged, can cleanse the artifacts. (Despite this, one of the artifacts is cleansed by Tunare's temple in Felwithe.) The sets of 2 that he speaks of are the set of the sword and pure water, and the set of the breastplate and pure crystal. The third "set" is the shield and the spirit of Elia the Pure.

The Breastplate

Tainted Darksteel Breastplate

Remember, Irak Altil said, "Upon she who lured me from my post. In that place where hatred festers. Painful corruption.' ... 'A gem of clarity unlike any other for the breastplate.'"

The Tainted Darksteel Breastplate drops from the Thought Destroyer in the Plane of Hate. It identifies as "glowing sickly green."

Pure Crystal

The "gem of clarity" is called a Pure Crystal, and is obtained via a sub-quest in Kaladim. In the mines (take a right as you go in, across a bridge), find Jark:

You say, 'Hail, Jark'

He doesn't respond to hails. He does have two emotes, however.

Jark strikes the wall with his pick. A dull clang sounds throughout the cave. 'Arrr. Nothin' here either.'

...and...

Jark strikes the wall with his pick. A clacking sound echoes through the cave. 'Har har. There's something all right.'

You say, 'Did you find something?'

Jark says 'Huh? Oh, I struck me some silver. Ain't gonna make me rich but it'll sure pay for me minin' costs. Speakin of, that wife o' mine was supposed ta bring me food already. Hey, you, wanna go get me my dinner? I ain't got nothing ta pay ya with but I sure would appreciate it.'

You say, 'I will get your dinner'

Jark says 'Har, I know you were a good sort. Nella has it. She's out there somewhere in the lower areas. She likes to visit the temple, so maybe she's there. Just tell 'er Jark sent ya and she'll prolly have everythin' ready fer me.'

Nella Stonebraids may be found in the temple area, by the small pool of water across from the door to the cleric guild, at +675, +115. She is spawned by talking to Jark.

You say, 'Hail, Nella Stonebraids'

She doesn't respond to hails.

You say, 'Do you have Jark's dinner?'

Nella Stonebraids says 'Ach! I forgot me husband's dinner. I'm so sorry. I was sendin' my wishes ta Brell for health and long life. I was just floatin' coins into the wishin' pool. Usually it's for children but things haven't been so good lately. Here, please take this to him and tell him where I was.'

You receive a "cold plate of beef and bread," which identifies as "Jark's dinner." Take this back to him.

Jark says 'Har, har! No time fer eatin' now! While you were gone I struck me a rich vein. Lookie here! Ya ever seen a gem so pure? It's tiny but clear as glass. Ya take it, ______. Ya showed me some kindness, least I can do. Besides, still a share here for me.'

You receive a Pure Crystal, which identifies as "blessed by compassion."

Gleaming Crested Breastplate

Go back to Reklon Gnallen and give him the Tainted Darksteel Breastplate and Pure Crystal.

Reklon Gnallen presses the gem of purity against the breastplate. Its dark gleam softens and then glows bright once again. 'Compassion is strong in you. Few so called heroes would sacrifice their time for such a menial task as you performed. Continue your work. Hold this ancient breastplate until you have completed your task.'

You receive a Gleaming Crested Breastplate, which identifies as "glowing with a bright light."

The Sword

Remember, Irak Altil said, "Hands of a twisted brother no longer living. The sword must be dipped in water pure."

Tainted Darksteel Sword

The Tainted Darksteel Sword drops from the Keeper of the Tombs in the Ruins of Old Paineel, a.k.a. The Hole. It identifies as "glowing sickly green."

Bucket of Pure Water

The "water pure" comes from doing a sub-quest of helping a peasant woman give some water to her sick brother. The peasant woman is located at +140, -545 in East Freeport post-revamp. She doesn't respond to hails, but has an emote:

peasant woman grunts as she tries to fill two buckets of water. Her frail arms strain at her work and pain fills her eyes with tears.

You say, 'What water?'

peasant woman says 'Aye, water, m'lord. For my brother. He is very sick. He's needin' drink. Hes burnin' up. I am sick myself but still able to move, a little. I must get this water to him before he gets worse.'

You say, 'I will take it to him'

peasant woman looks at you. 'Surely you are a pure soul. If you would take this bucket of water to my brother, I would be forever grateful. I'm just so tired, I need to rest...' She slumps to the floor and begins to breathe shallowly, in short, harsh gasps.

You receive a Bucket of Water, which identifies as "bucket of aqueduct water." Post-revamp, her brother Joshua is located elsewhere in East Freeport near the entrance to the sewers at -35, -470. Give him the bucket.

Joshua dips his emaciated hand into the bucket and brings the water to his mouth. As he does, you hear a soft thump from outside and notice that through the window his sister has collapsed. A glimmer enfolds her body, and you notice the water in Joshua's hand gleam a pure, bright light for a moment. 'Thank you, sir. I hope my sister returns soon. I feel better for some reason.'

You receive a Bucket of Pure Water, which identifies as "blessed by sacrifice."

Gleaming Crested Sword

Give the Tainted Darksteel Sword and the Bucket of Pure Water to Reklon Gnallen.

Reklon Gnallen washes the sword's blade in the water of purity. Its dark surface begins to shine, as true as the day it was forged. 'Such a sacrifice is rare among the poor. Truly, the woman must have loved her brother. Remember the lesson you have learned from her. Keep the sword until your work is done.'

You receive a Gleaming Crested Sword, which identifies as "glowing with a bright light."

The Shield

Remember, Irak Altil said, "Earthly children of the god of hate. Keeping stand over his dark brothers and sisters. Light of clean spirit to cleanse the shield."

Tainted Darksteel Shield

The Tainted Darksteel Shield drops from Kirak Vil in Nektulos Forest. It identifies as "glowing sickly green." To get him to attack say "I am a paladin"

Light of Clean Spirit

The "light of clean spirit" isn't an object, unlike the other two items. Rather, it's the literal "clean spirit" of Elia the Pure in Felwithe. She is by the water just before you enter the inner city zone.

You say, 'Hail, Elia the Pure'

Elia the Pure says 'Hail to you, friend. If you require assistance, please ask, if not I must return to my tasks.'

You say, 'What tasks?'

Elia the Pure says 'It is here that the light shines brightest in our fair city. Here I sit, transcribing scrolls of luminescence. Spells to light the dark, to blind the evil with purity, or to heal those in pain. I find it so much easier to work with such spells if I am in the light itself.'

You say, 'What purity?'

Elia the Pure says 'Cleansing and such. Often our temple will cleanse evil. If you have need of such a thing, I can help. Merely let me examine the item.'

Gleaming Crested Shield

Give her the Tainted Darksteel Shield.

Elia the Pure squints and turns her head. 'By the gods, such a twisted aura this has! To see it hurts my eyes. I will help you if for no other reason than to remove such a twisted thing from existence.' She unrolls a scroll from her pack and softly chants over the dark metal shield. She hands it back to you with an exhausted smile on her face. 'Your heart seems pure. If I was able to help at all, I am honored. May the light shine warmly upon you.'

You receive the Gleaming Crested Shield, which identifies as "glowing with a bright light."

Final Steps

Mark of Atonement

Return to Reklon Gnallen. Hand him the Gleaming Crested Breastplate, Gleaming Crested Sword, and Gleaming Crested Shield.

Reklon Gnallen says 'I never thought our order would see these artifacts again. With the return of these relics we can now put at ease a scar upon the history of our order. This cleansing will atone for his failure. Your soul must be pure to have given so freely of yourself. Go now, take this crested token of our order. If you wish to free his soul you must undertake another sacrifice.'

You receive a Mark of Atonement, which identifies as "Mark of Peace."

You say, 'What sacrifice?'

Reklon Gnallen says 'Only this crest and the sacrifice of something that symbolizes your strength and purity will release his spirit into the cleansing flames of our lady Quellious. Go now.'

Freeing Irak

When Reklon mentions "something that symbolizes your strength and purity," he is in fact referring to the Fiery Avenger. The last step is to turn in the Mark of Atonement and the Fiery Avenger to Irak Altil in Fear. Turn in the two items together. Irak will then give you your new Fiery Defender.

Irak Altil screams so loudly it echoes across the valley as the mark and flames of your holy sword touch his rotted bones. As his body twists he quiets and then speaks. 'Your selflessness has made it possible to redeem my honor. With the cleansing of my corruption your own soul has been strengthened. Your power comes from your devotion to your god and with this you have been rewarded. Remember always your purity, devotion, and why you have sacrificed. I must go now to sacrifice myself upon the spear of pain.'

You receive your Fiery Defender!

#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 12 2000 at 1:34 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Hey guys, i am wondering where at in the hole is the keeper of the tombs, i hosted a raid last night on the hole wiht 25ppl and we got deep but we never could find him, we did find a lvl 55 npc wizard epic quest mob character named Polzin Mrid, we schooled him with 19ppl and got no faction hits and he respawnd 5 min later. I am going back to the hole tonight and searching for the tomb of the keepers agaion if anyone can give me and idea on where he spawns or in about a general loction that would be GREAT.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 11 2000 at 9:23 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Where do you get the idea that we have to turn in the Mark of Atonement AND something else? I've never seen anything about turning in something else. Im not saying that you dont have to, im just curious as to where is says this. The zombie dude just wants atonement, right? Should you just have to give him the mark?
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 11 2000 at 6:26 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I have been told that the mark of atonement and the original FA are required to give to the zombie, he then turns into a living erudite paladin. The person who did this was agroe'd by another mob b4 he could do anything else so not sure what step comes next, killing the erudite? don't really make sense sinse we just saved his soul, but that's kinda verant's style ain't it?
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 11 2000 at 11:44 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Wait! Still not clear. Someone cleared PoF last night and gave both items but nothing happen because the faction problem. We need someone give the mark of atonement first and see what happen with faction. Please stop to waste your FA now.

In old tradition we have to release a tormented soul to achieve our greatest sword. For this deed we need to find his old armor, sword and shield. These have to be purified by light, gem and water.

THE GEM
These 2 NPC's are found in Kaladim, Jark is in the mines and Nella is outside of the temple
You say, 'hail Jark'
You say, 'some'
Jark says 'Huh? Oh, I struck me some silver. Aint gonna make me rich but it'll sure pay for me minin costs. Speakin of, that wife o` mine was supposed ta bring me food already. Hey, you, wanna go get me my dinner? I aint got nothing ta pay ya with but I sure would appreciate it.
You say, 'I will get your dinner'
Jark says 'Har, I know you were a good sort. Nella has it. Shes out there somewhere in the lower areas. She likes to visit the temple so maybe shes there. Just tell er Jark sent ya and she'll prolly have everythin ready fer me.
You say, 'hail Nella Stonebraids'
You say, 'dinner'
Nella Stonebraids says 'Ach! I forgot me husbands dinner. Im so sorry. I was sendin my wishes ta Brell for health and long life. I was just floatin coins into the wishin pool. Usually its for children but things havent been so good lately. Here, please take this to him and tell him where I was.
Jark says 'Har har! No time fer eatin now! While you were gone I struck me a rich vein. Lookie here. Ya ever seen a gem so pure? Its tiny but clear as glass. Ya take it Holyomen . Ya showed me some kindness, least I can do. Besides, still a share here for me.

THE BREASTPLATE
Comes of a Thought Corruptor in the Plane of Hate and is called a Tainted Darksteel Breastplate.

THE SWORD
The Sword can be found on the Keeper of Tombs in The Hole.

PURE WATER
A peasant woman near the monk guild in West Freeport :
You say to peasant woman "what water" then "I will take it". You get a bucket of water. Hand it in to her brother Joshua and it will be turned into Pure water.
Joshua is in the bakery near his sister.

THE SHIELD
The tainted shield drops off Kirak Vil in Nektulos forest. He is a lvl 56 Dark elf, no faction losses for killing him.

Now the steps to assemble the items :

1) 'The sword must be dipped in water pure.
Tainted sword plus Pure water (blessed by sacrafice){pure water obtained from peasant woman quest in west freeport} given to REKLON GNALLEN in the temple of Quellious, Erudin.
You receive a Gleaming Crested Sword.

2) Light of clean spirit to cleanse the shield.
Tainted shield goes to Elia the Pure in Felwithe (light of clean spirit = Pure). You receive a Gleaming Crested Shield.

3) A gem of clarity unlike any other for the breastplate
Tainted Breastplate plus Pure Crystal (blessed by compassion) {Pure Crystal obtained from quest given by Jark in the mines of Kaladim} given to REKLON GNALLEN in the temple of Quellious, Erudin. You receive a Gleaming Breastplate.

4) Gleaming Shield, Crested Sword and Breastplate go to REKLON GNALLEN again.
You receive a "MARK OF ATONEMENT".

5) Mark of Atonement and one more item go to IRAK ALTIL ( wandering NPC zombie ) in Plane of Fear.

THE MISSING ITEM - thoughts
1) Old FA, THE symbol of perseverence, power, strength, friendship, love and what not. But then again Verant stated they know of the problems associated with getting FA nowadays and "that they have a solution".

2) The Symbol of Marr is from plane of sky, a more or less rare drop and surely a sign of purity and strength ( takes hell lots of guts to stand the more than boring sky raids ;) ).

3) Soulfire is our old symbol of compassion and strength and a flaming sword ( we know the knew one is flaming as well, just without the blade and only flames ). This might be the solution to circumvent getting old FA to get new FA.

Special thanks go to Avarus of Innoruuk and Arith Venivrai for the most important leads and sacrifices. Thanks go to the numerous paladins who looked into the numerous leads and tried out possible solutions.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 09 2000 at 6:30 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) a question on kirak vil...i spent the last couple days with a druid tracking for em, is he a triggered spawn? or is there a ceratin area that would be best to find him in?
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 09 2000 at 8:39 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) He is not triggered and he has a long respawn. He wanders between the neriak entrance, newbie log, and pyramid.

#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 06 2000 at 10:14 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Some small quest in Kaladim gets you what is very much likely the gem of clarity or whayever its called that cleans the BP. Go to the Paladins of Norrath message boards and check out the Epic Quests board. They are getting VERY close to solving this thing.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 07 2000 at 10:26 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) What is the address of the message board?
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 07 2000 at 8:15 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) It is called the Pure Crystal and when identified is described as "Blessed by Compassion." Remember the water that we get from the doing the peasant woman / Joshua quest in W FP is identified as "Blessed by Sacrifice." No doubt that this is the gem, to many of us.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 04 2000 at 3:06 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I got this after Hailing him. Found this guy in the Temple of Ro. He was over by the Mage quest people. Let me know if he is new or old.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 04 2000 at 3:28 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Actually, Lord Lyfyx is part of the Wurmslayer quest, of course, that doesn't mean he doesn't have something to do with our new quest, but likely he doesn't.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 04 2000 at 9:14 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Greetings the quest does start in fear sorry for all those under lvl 46 will have to wait the sword is found off the master in the hole need pure water also the breaastplate in hate thought corupter and the shield off kirak vil in nek forest the gem of clarity is a drop off inny god of hate plane after getting the shield cleansed it becomes a crest shield hmmmmm maybe the crest we need just a thought good luck hope this helps

PS... I'm sorry I posted this here and I'm no better than the flamers, but this is getting anoying. I would just like to be able to come here and read about the quest.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 02 2000 at 7:16 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Dont know if this is related to our new particle weapon quest or if it is another quest entirely. Was coming back from night of fun in Kith through the west commons and stumbled on either a paladin or a cleric in full pate at the lake there. When hailed he went on to ask if I had the bones of some one to be cleansed in the lakes waters. Based on the post (PAL QUEST FOUND) and the references to being cleansed this has rasied my intuition that they may be related. Hope this helps.

#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 02 2000 at 7:46 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) That is for the lvl 50 paladin spell quest. It requires a coffin full of bones and sword and shield (all dusty items)
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 02 2000 at 8:37 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Must be nice that paladins get TWO particle weapons, well really THREE!!
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 08 2000 at 3:21 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Well guess what? Warriors get 3 particle weapons too. And each of the weapons are stronger than any of the Pal particle weapons. Think about that. Guess what class verant really likes. *whistles innocently*
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 03 2000 at 3:58 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Why cant ppl just play there classes and be happy with it, if you cant play your class and not complain, dont you think you should consider another class? And, whats wrong with pallies getting another particle weapon, all these new weapons are much better than FA from the ones we have seen the stats on anyhow. Look at the portion of weapons that pallies get, and then look at the rest of the classes, everyone else sept maybe bards have way more..... so whats wrong with us getting another one. Why dont you post these (STUPID) remarks on another forum and keep these quest forums clear for acual quest info :p

#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 02 2000 at 9:48 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I happen to use SoulFire, and I am quite fond of it. It is perhaps somewhat slow, but it has a nice edge to it.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 02 2000 at 9:49 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) im a monk and a wizard ;o) and I think paladins are gay rainbow warriors.. but still.. from the very beginning verant has wanted the soulfire and later the firey avenger to be a reason for choosing the class.. to "wield holy swords" as they put it. They dont get much else :o) im sure paladins would agree with me.. they added the third one because then paladins dont have anything over another class.. and thats a bad thing.. I agree with verant here.. the other classes werent even supposed to get uber weapons like this.. I actually dont think we should have gotten them hehe no complaints here tho.. but they needed to give paladins another one so that the other classes cant say "oh a firey avenger.. i got my classes equivalent" when there wasnt supposed to be an equivalent.. so im guessing that their new weapon is probably going to be a harder quest than any of the other quests.. and it'll probably have better stats than our weapons too.. again no complaints.. it was what their class was designed to be

Pally's are very powerfull...you would be wise not to underestamate them. There hp and ac stats are pretty dang good and they can double as a cleric in a tough situation. When I group, I prefer to have a paladin tank. It seems the group tends to last longer that way. I mean, let's face it, the main thing tanks do is absorb damage and keep mobs off of casters.....what better tank than one that can heal himself efficiently. ;)

#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 02 2000 at 6:15 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I think paladins get screwed because FA was the one thing paladins had that was better then everyone else. But now with new weapons paladins will remain the same just about while everyone else gets better, so I hardly think Verant favors paladins

#Anonymous, Posted: Sep 30 2000 at 4:41 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I saw earlier in this thread a reference to hailing a guard near the bridge at Fironia Vie... here's the details I got after trying that. Based on the most recent post here it looks like it may not be specific to the epic quest, but here goes:

I bet this is the gem you need.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 08 2000 at 8:30 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I have only an abandoned lvl 15 character thats a Paladin, so don't flame me about this. ^~ Anyways, have you actually done most of this quest, or is most of it guessing? In other words, where does it say anything about needing a symbol of strength and purity? *cough* FA *cough*. Oh yeah and if you don't have the shield yet, then how do you know who ends the quest(or at least takes the 3 cleansed items)? Well now it sounds like i'm just flaming everyone, so heres my last question: What in the world gave you the idea this even IS the epic weapon quest? Hopefully someone will answer me without bein mad i'm complaining, hehe. ^~
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 08 2000 at 8:34 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Same person who posted this. Just something I might add: The symbol of STR and purity(which is probably the FA, get the whole turning in the Soulfire thing outta your heads)
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 05 2000 at 2:47 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) a friend of mine was in pof yesterday, human paladin btw, he wanted to get the quest, but luckily he first check his faction with irak atlin, he was threateningly... so the big question is to what faction group belongs irak atlin and how do you raise it?
Sacrifice/Nobility vs. Str/purity
# Oct 02 2000 at 8:11 PM Rating: Default
Giving up ghoulbane and soulfire for the Fiery Avenger was refered to as sacrifice and nobility... the nobility makes sense when refering to Soulfire, due to all the tests and routing of Lucan that it takes to get. Seems if the Fiery Avenger was required it would say something similar.

The quest asks for Str/purity which might be embodied by the symbol of Marr's great AC and nice wisdom. Just a thought.

Honestly.... I think that is right the symbol of Marr seems to be a good guess as to Str and PURITY. the Ac = str because of its sturdiness to take blows its a rather stalwart shield and secondly the wisdom = purity. Those pure of mind have both great WISDOM and intellect adn are sought after for advice and counsel. In my opinion as a writer and English major symbolism has a great deal to do with the meaning of things in stories... these quests have VERY interesting storylines so I would think that this Shield is the answer to the end of this quest. hehhehheh and if not.. oh well wtf I tried right? thats what matters have a nice day.

#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 03 2000 at 10:48 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) When you have the Tainted BP ID by bard, it tells you "Gleeming Silky green" I heard of a ring or something that VS in KC drops called gleeming silky green. Not to sure how true this is. Could be part of the quest.

We pulled a named Drake "Black...something" It dropped a Book called "The book of Immortals". my guild was asking around and heard that it's apart of the paladin quest, so i looted it (it's NO DROP). i read the book and it went on to talk about some of the immortals in norath, can't remember the exact names, but some of them i had heard of, i'll repost with what exactly the book discusses, i hope this puts us in the right direction.
