This part of Gates of Discord progression follows your completion of the Pit of the Lost quest (note that some elements of Kod'Taz progression can be completed outside of the order outlined here, which is but one path you can take).

Crumbled Sanctuary

If you hail Tublik Narwethar after having finished the "Pit of the Lost" quest, you see this:

Tublik Narwethar says 'Nice to see you again, _____. After your recent accomplishments in the Pit of the Lost, I'm more than eager to be working with you once more. This whole time we've been looking at the artifacts that the Muramites have been collecting, but we've been [ignoring something] and I think it's time we looked into it.'

You say, 'Ignoring something?'

Tublik Narwethar says 'Perhaps you've heard of the Altar of Destruction? It is the largest, most visible temple just to the north of here. You can't miss it. If you were to venture just east of it, you would come across a temple that appears destroyed. This temple is called the [Crumbled Sanctuary] of Divine Destruction according to the historical information we've received. I have yet to uncover what its purpose is.'

Kevren Nalavat has this response if you ask him about it:

Kevren Nalavat says 'I'm glad you're sticking around to help out with some additional tasks. We can certainly use the help. On the east side of the largest temple to the west, there exists a crumbled temple. As of yet, we're unsure what the cause or reason of the destruction was. I don't have all the information, but Tublik Narwethar does. Seek him out to the south of the Martyrs Passage and find out what you can from him.'

Ask Tublik about the "Crumbled Sanctuary:

You say, 'What about the Crumbled Sanctuary?'

Tublik Narwethar says 'Oh yeah, I know all about that thing. It was a temple that was decimated by the Muramites during their initial invasion. We're unsure what caused them to destroy that temple, but not the other three. I need you to go to the temple and [look for clues] as to what the reason may have been for destroying the temple.'

You say, 'I'll look for clues'

Tublik Narwethar says 'I have no idea what the clues may look like, but I'm hoping they'll bring about some insight as to the reason behind the Muramites destroying the temple. Once you've recovered all the clues you can find, please come back to me so I can go over them. If we're lucky, I'll be able to decipher what the real cause was and we can relay that important news to the brotherhood. Off you go, _____, and good luck!'

Clue Collection

In the northwestern quadrant of the zone is a giant temple. The "Crumbled Sanctuary" is the small temple to the east, noted for its decaying appearance.

In this temple are seven ground spawn locations (for your "kodtaz.txt" map file):

P -510.2631, -3.0832, -399.1795, 0, 127, 0, 1, Frayed_Flesh_Scrap
P -530.9882, 120.8708, -402.1943, 0, 127, 0, 1, Frayed_Flesh_Scrap
P -495.8418, 185.1053, -407.4394, 0, 127, 0, 1, Frayed_Flesh_Scrap
P -532.0091, 183.7077, -407.4096, 0, 127, 0, 1, Frayed_Flesh_Scrap
P -542.0750, -75.2371, -378.4202, 0, 127, 0, 1, Frayed_Flesh_Scrap
P -511.2050, -92.2363, -378.4423, 0, 127, 0, 1, Frayed_Flesh_Scrap
P -521.6580, 237.0889, -407.4115, 0, 127, 0, 1, Frayed_Flesh_Scrap

In-game /locs:

140, 550, -373 - on top of broken vase
90, 510, -375 - behind other broken vase
75, 540, -376 - right side of the doorway
0, 505, -347 - against the wall by the cave-in
-185, 495, -404 - front left corner of end room
-240, 520, -404 - back middle of end room
-185, 530, -404 - front middle of end room

Collect these until you have four separate "Frayed Flesh Scrap" (each is lore), then turn in the scraps to Tublik:

Tublik grunts unhappily at the four pieces. 'I had hoped more work wouldn't be needed to uncover the clues, but it looks like there's a bit more you're going to need to do for me. Take a look at these edges. Do you see how they look really sinewy? That's because they're [made of flesh], probably that of the trusik. No doubt the Muramites have been quite cruel to them now that they are mostly used for slavery.'

You receive the four items back.

If you miss this phase Tublik freaks out: 'How is this possible? You couldn't have done this without some kind of trickery! I'm going to alert the appropriate authorities!' - and you lose the item.

A Tailor's (Nasty) Job

You say, 'These are made of flesh?'

Tublik shakes his head. 'I know it's not very pleasant, but you've got to remember that these Muramites are a new type of scum like nothing else we've ever come across. I think we can salvage some information from this, but it will require you to venture back into areas infested with Muramites. You'll need to [gather some materials] for me so we can sew the flesh back together.'

You say, 'Gather some materials?'

Tublik Narwethar says 'The first thing you'll need is a needle. We can't take any chances with the use of Muramite-altered flesh so you'll need to make your own. To do so, you'll need to find four bone chips and combine them with some of the weird black residue that the Muramites leave behind when they die. You should be able to fashion them together with a sewing kit. The next thing you'll need to do is get some [strands of hair] to keep the flesh together.'

You say, 'What about the strands of hair?'

Tublik Narwethar says 'You'll need to gather four strands of hair from the local hynids. They're not friendly, so be careful when you encounter one. Once you've gotten the strands and made your needle, you're going to need to sew the strands together using the needle. It seems strange I know, but remember that the best solutions are usually the simplest ones. Take the hynid thread and the needle and your four pieces of flesh and sew them together. That should get you what you need. Once you've sewn the clue back together, give it to me, and I may finally be able to understand it.'

This part of the quest requires a Tailor capable of crafting an item with a 202 and 268 skill check in Tailoring.

First, you need a Muramite Needle (202 Tailoring):

- 4x Bone Chips + 1x Muramite Residue

By now, you know "Bone Chips" are obviously a common drop from skeletons just about everywhere. They also drop from hynids and cragbeasts in Kod'Taz. If the Seeds of Destruction expansion is open on your server, you can find them in unlimited supply from Apothecary Cadmael in Oceangreen Village.

"Muramite Residue" is an uncommon drop from any muramite mobs (kyvs; ra'tuks; ukuns; ikaavs; etc.) in Kod'Taz.

Next, you'll need a Hynid-Hair Thread (268 Tailoring):

- 4x Hynid Hair Strand + 1x Muramite Needle

"Hynid Hair Strand" is a common drop from hynids in Kod'Taz. The Muramite Needle is always returned to you (success or fail).

Finally, you need to create a "Sewn Flesh Parchment" (No-Fail Tailoring):

- 4x "Frayed Flesh Scrap" + Muramite Needle + Hynid-Hair Thread

Hand in the Sewn Flesh Parchment to Tublik Narwethar:

Tublik Narwethar says 'Nicely sewn, _____. I would have tried doing it myself, but I have the most unsteady fingers when it comes to things like that. In any case, let me have a look at what this says.' Tublik looks over the clue for a time before continuing. 'Unbelievable. Simply astounding. These notes weren't made by the Muramites at all. In fact, they were created by trusik priests from their own flesh in some kind of [ritual].'

Additional Clues

You say, 'What about this ritual?'

Tublik Narwethar says 'I've been assuming that only the Muramites were so cruel that they would rip flesh from another living being in this manner, but it appears that the trusik priests were the ones that did it. They etched glyphs into the skin and then removed it to be used later. The glyphs represent the four temples and their direct connection to the Altar of Destruction. It looks as though there may be [more clues] about the Altar of Destruction and its surrounding temples in the trial temples.'

You say, 'More clues? You don't have enough already?'

Tublik Narwethar says 'I need you to return to the three temples where you participated in the three trials. Based on this clue, I believe you will find three additional clues about the Altar of Destruction in the Temple of Singular Might, the Temple of Twin Struggles, and the Temple of the Tri-Fates. I doubt they'll be hard to find, but you must go to each and search for the clues! Return to me when you have found them!'

Here, you need 3x "Glyphed Flesh" (three types - ground spawns in each of the three Ikkinz Group Trial temples. Locations for your "kodtaz.txt" map file:

P 952.1369, 1308.9993, -432.4316, 0, 127, 0, 1, Glyphed_Flesh
P 288.6153, 1434.7100, -340.4208, 0, 127, 0, 1, Glyphed_Flesh
P 894.2471, 1626.0768, -402.3225, 0, 127, 0, 1, Glyphed_Flesh

In-game /locations:

Ikkinz Group 1: -1428, -308, -336 (at the very top level of the south rampart, out in the open)
Ikkinz Group 2: -1642, -902, -404 (inside sitting in a bowl on a table)
Ikkinz Group 3: -1045, -704, -407 (next to a bench in the corner, inside)

Tublik stares at the three clues for a moment before speaking. 'I can't be sure, but I believe we are getting close to something big, _____. I need more time to examine these clues, but I should have something for you when you return. You've done well and I know that we wouldn't have been able to get this far without your help. Good job!'

You say, 'Give me a progress update'
