Requesting the Expedition: Apprentice Udranda (Progression) This group expedition is a part of Gates of Discord Progression and begins with Apprentice Udrana (click for map image) in Barindu at /location 245, -750, -124 (outside the mountain passage in the east-central part of the zone). NOTE: While you can request the expedition with less than 3 players, you'll need at least 3 players (mercenaries don't count) to complete the zone. You say, 'Hail, Apprentice Udranda' Udranda looks around sheepishly. 'Greetings. A messenger told me you would come. I believe we owe you our thanks -- though I'm not sure allowing you to face the terror in the mountains is a reward. I will have my stone worker allow you to pass through, but you must [take heed] first and be as quiet as you can.' While it offers you the text "take heed", she will ignore it at this point. Just say "Tipt" follow the direction on your compass (east through the mountain passage) to zone in. You say, 'I wish to go to Tipt' Apprentice Udranda subtly commands her stone worker to open the passage for you before any invaders can take notice. The direction to the entry to your instanced zone(s) have been marked on your compass. Tipt, Treacherous Crags is now available to you. LOADING, PLEASE WAIT... You have entered Tipt, Treacherous Crags. Expedition: Base Mobs & the Cragbeasts General mob population here tend to hit for a max ~1,280 and have 14.5-minute respawn timers. The hatchlings each hit for a max ~800 and are stunnable and mezzable. Upon the death of the last hatchling, "an enraged maternal cragbeast" spawns in the middle of the clearing: a cragbeast hatchling has been slain by _____! a cragbeast hatchling's corpse squeals and lies still. An enraged maternal cragbeast charges into the clearing with a roar. She hits for a max ~2,000; single-target rampages; and procs "Crag Jaws": Crag Jaws: Single Target, Unresistable (-20) 1: Decrease Hitpoints by 53 (L1) to 350 (L100) 2: Stun (1.00 sec) an enraged maternal cragbeast has been slain by _____! an enraged maternal cragbeast's corpse shudders and falls among her slaughtered children. It drops one augmentation + "Vaifan's Temporary Power Cell A": Bauble of Rejuvenation Gem of Bolstered Power Gleaming Stone of Vengeance Sparkling Gem of Protection Stone of Recovery The Undead From here, make your way to the next clearing. At least once player needs to stand in the gateway area of the empty clearing ahead. As you approach, you see: Shivers run up and down your spine. Something is not quite right here. The area feels quite chill and desolate. ...And with three players in the trigger area, you see: Mournful wails carry on the air. While at first despairing, they rise quite suddenly to a menacing level. At this time, eight undead mobs spawn around the clearing. Note that each of these mobs spawns an additional undead mob upon their deaths. Once all 16 mobs are dead, Garjah Zotaki appears in the clearing. You say, 'Hail, Garjah Zotaki' Garjah Zotaki looks to you with eternal eyes. 'I am most impressed with your skill and courage. This pass has not been for the weak-willed for quite some time. My kin and I have hope that perhaps you and your party can hold fast and bring forth some sort of justice to those that have done this to us. Go forth with our blessing. The top of the pass is heavily guarded, but there is a key. I trust that you shall find it. Make haste!' Who Has the Key?! Head to the next clearing (preceded by a gate). As you enter it, you see: The air is thick with smoke. Strange noises that could be the snapping of bones reach your ears. Utmost care would be wise. Kill muramite mobs in this clearing until you looted a "Harshly Spiked Key", then make your way up to the next gate where you'll find Rikabi the Riddler. Riddle Me This Hail the Riddler. If you find him before completing the previous mini-events, you'll see this: Rikabi the Riddler says 'It appears that you have somehow found your way to me, but I sense that you are not yet ready to continue. Please, return when you have found that which is yet unfound.' Otherwise: You say, 'Hail, Rikabi the Riddler' Rikabi the Riddler says 'So, another band of treasure-seekers desire to plunder the abomination that our fair temple has become. There was a time when those that wandered sought to do good in the fields they trampled, repair the trails they followed, and to help those in need they met along their way. Alas, these times are distant, dusty memories, and so now here I sit and judge. This [mountain] pass was once fertile and virtuous, can the same be said of you? Bah, true nobility is hidden in the heart. Today, your cunning and valor of mind shall be tested! Step forth, and hear my riddles. Plan to go no further than the grave if your mind and heart are weak!' You say, 'Tell me about this mountain pass' Rikabi the Riddler says 'This mountain pass was once a holy place. It was a passage to a higher place as well as frame of mind. Everything here inspired the utmost respect of our people. Unfortunately, those days are gone and all that remains is broken or corrupted. I [test] all of those who wish to pass now.' You say, 'What test?' Rikabi the Riddler says 'The test is... riddles! I have many of those. Take time to gather your wits about you and let me know when you are ready. Bear in mind that a wrong answer could lead to dire consequences. Tell me when you are [ready], and you shall have your riddle. The answer to any of my riddles can be found in the road behind you. Bring me an example of what you believe the answer to be, and you may pass freely.' You say, 'Ready!' At this time, he gives you your riddle and spawns numerous bags on the ground. Read the riddle, and then pick up the bags until you've found the answer to the riddle, then hand the answer to him. Your bravery is notable, but I'm sure you can understand that we just can't trust anyone with our ancient magic. It would be far too dangerous for my people.'
