Charm the dragon Entalon, then:

You say, 'Hail, Entalon'

He will smile with a wide grin. "You are quite brave to approach me and speak. On any other day, I would not give you the opportunity. Fortunately for you, I am preoccupied with my master's quest."

You say, 'What is your master's quest?'

Entalon says 'I have but a small task, to find the scribblings of Jarldyn. A Fier'Dal has stolen them. The scribblings will be illegible, but they must be returned to my master who rightfully won them in battle. If you find them, bring them to me with an emerald plume and I will grant you an audience with my master. Be forewarned, it may be a one-way trip.'

Hand in the Scribblings (they identify as "Sorcerer Scribblings"), which are dropped by the rare spawn wood elf version of "a pilgrim" in Firiona Vie, and a Stoneleer Emerald Plume, dropped by "a stoneleer cockatrice."

Entalon says 'You shall see my master when I have Jarldyn's scribblings and an emerald plume.'

Entalon says 'Ha ha ha!! Fool! I have what I need. Now you are granted an audience with a noble sarnak lord, not my master. I am quite sure he shall do away with you. Ha ha ha!!

You gain experience!!

You are teleported to see Atheling Plague.

Need all dialogues, /loc of Entalon, /loc of Atheling Plague, faction hits if any, quest reward(s).

This quest is indeed related to Atheling Plauge, it IS the correct way to get to him. However from the lore on turn it is NOT his master. After turning in the scribblings (rare drop from the elusive WOOD ELF MALE pilgrim spawn in FV) and the plume Entalon says the following:

Entalon says 'Ha ha ha!! Fool! I have what I need. Now you are granted an audience with a noble sarnak lord, not my master. I am quite sure he shall do away with you. Ha ha ha!!

You gain party experience.

Updated, thanks.
Comedy gold?
# Aug 11 2006 at 10:43 PM Rating: Decent
Complete comedy would be if this were to use the Illegible Scroll/Illegible Cantrip from the Commons orcs. It's obviously a very long shot, but unsolved is unsolved, and Identify doesn't always help, and who's to say that with ALL the unsolved quests in EQ, random noob items don't mean much, much more to a high level NPC? Maybe Entalon will say, "Imagine that, a bunch of lowbie orcs must have ambused the guy who stole these when he was AFK!" (or perhaps something much more RP, but you know.) If I had a toon who could charm this guy, I'd try it just for fun.

Todays patch.

Todays patch says something about this quest any information on it?
Veeshan?
# Dec 10 2003 at 10:59 PM Rating: Default
He says meeting with his master and a oneway trip. Could this maybe be a removed version of VP key or seb key or some kinda key for a encounter with veeshan? don't think their was any teleport u to a room to fight an encounter at this age of the game. Also could spawn a dragon or wurm to fight when u do hand. just some ideas of what this could be.

Veeshan will probably never appear in-game. If she was, she would be BY FAR the biggest mob.

I believe he is talking about that you might die. Think about it, cliche line, one way trip...
Just my opinion.
Possibly...
# Aug 21 2002 at 2:19 PM Rating: Default
It possibly could be just a way to get up to Atheling Plague without levitating or Gfluxing or such.

OR has anyone killed Sir Hobble? He's a big anti-dragon dude, and quite possibly could drop it.

I'm very interested in this quest, keep up searching!

EDIT

Also, ya know that Lord Xyfl of Burwood dude in Sol Temple that is the alternate version of Xyfl the wurm in Burning Woods? Anyone tried killing him?

Im not sure if this has already been said, but yesterday in firona vie i killed a pilgrim, he dropped a note called "Scribblings" they could not be read and i destroyed them after i couldnt find out what they were for.
Maybe this could be what he is talking about, i belive they came from a woodelf male pilgrim, although i killed so many of the vermin its difficult to recall.

This seems to be the best lead since Fier'dal are the woodelves. Being a tailor of woodelf cultural armor and using a Fier'dal sewing kit to make it i'm sure about the name of the race

CoM scrolls
# Jul 22 2001 at 2:52 PM Rating: Default
there are 5 scrolls dropped in City of Mist. they are for the shammy epic quest. you must combine them in a container and hand them in to a spirit in emerald jungle. i believe this portion rewards some right clicky sow boots. nodrop, shammy only of course.

The mysterious Fier'Dal
# Jun 29 2001 at 12:52 PM Rating: Default
Maybe it's Tellan Darkforest, the ranger NPC who dwells in the NW corner of the zone and starts the ranger/druid epic quest. Of course it would probably take at least 4 groups who don't mind losing faction to kill him, but it would be payback for all those times he attacked me.

I'm guessing there's only 3 illegible scrolls that he's looking for because he also mentions the need for an Emerald Plume, off of cockatrices in OT?, that would be 4 slots for the NPC trade screen filled.

Yes, Koada'dal means HIGH elf. Fier'dal is Wood-elf. Falchion of the Koada'Vie is the high-elf paladins guild blade.
illegible scolls
# Apr 30 2001 at 12:37 PM Rating: Default
Key of torsis is for shaman epic i believe.

Illegible scolls are for a SK only item in cabilis:

Grand Lord's Khukri
MAGIC ITEM
Charges: 3
Skill: 1HS Atk Delay: 24
DMG: 12
+5 STR, +5 WIS, +10 INT, +25 MR
Effect: Enduring Breath
WT: 0.0
Class: SHD
Race: IKS

Its a nice weapon
I think that. . .

I believe that when completed this quest, in a far off zone Veeshan (or however you spell it) or another well known wurm or dragon will spawn. I htink that this quest is the place holder for high end most likely dragon with the same faction of the ring of scale.
RE: I think that. . .
# Apr 22 2002 at 4:57 PM Rating: Decent
I've seen this discussed before.... interzone triggers do not exist in the game. It is immpossible for an event in one zone to trigger an event in another, but it is HIGHLY probable that an event may trigger another event in the SAME zone.
RE: I think that. . .
# Mar 22 2003 at 9:28 PM Rating: Default
Actually the new quest system does allow that to happen. It was implmented with PoP, but was not used (apparently) until the war that shoved the rolls out of grobb. Allows events to span zones, spawn mobs in any location anywhere, and even allows mobs to follow PCs across zone lines if they want them to.

I was under the impression that awakening the Sleeper triggered events in several zones. Admittedly this is a very rare case and may be unique, but obviously inter-zone triggers DO exist.

Me and a couple friends killed Entalon twice today, he popped right behind the giant tree house. Dropped only some gold, a pearl necklace, two meats and two something powders. The second time he only dropped 4pp and one meat and one powder (phospherus i think, generic all/all, same ones off the giants). We were assuming he was part of the wurmy quest but I guess not. FYI, as a lvl 48 druid, I could not hit ANY spells on him other than snare, and he does NOT cast, but the low 50's mage and necro had him down real fast.

Entalon and a Named NPC...
# Jan 27 2001 at 7:10 PM Rating: Default
The other night my brother and I were tracking a different named wurm called Phiznikon, or something like that. BTW, Phiznikon is a very high level casting wurm; very dangerous but you can out run him with sow.

Anyway, I also began tracking Entalon. I found him near the NE corner of BW, towards Chardok zone. He was stuck with a generic wurm on a hill against the zone wall. Right next to these wurms was a named NPC, named Nextol Deepwater, or something like that. He was an Iskar or sarnak that conned green and was indifferent to me. I was in wolf form ( a lvl 51 druid). He wore a bright blue robe and carried a long wooden staff. We eventually separated and killed Entalon but he did not drop a Dragon Scale. The NPC never spoke or did anything. Hailing him did not work either. However, the area was swarming with regular wurms, undead apes and Sarnaks.
I dont know if this info. helps but it seemed very unusual.

Failed Crypt Robber
# Aug 17 2000 at 8:50 AM Rating: Decent
The Failed Crypt Robber in Kaesora, the only human (or elf) skeleton there, drops both a scroll and an illegible scroll. The scroll, written in dragon, describes a very similar quest to find four scrolls and deliver them to a "master". I haven't had the opportunity to identify the illegible scroll.
RE: Failed Crypt Robber
# Sep 18 2000 at 12:02 PM Rating: Default
Got same thing from Kaesora the other day.. BTW I ID the scroll...its the Scroll of Vok Na Zov I !!!.. Now check this out. The note says there are 4 other scrolls sent to an ancient city named Torsis to be rescribed.

The crypt raider when its killed says he will never see the mist (HINT!)

On another expedition I went to City of Mist and killed a Spectral Courier with an illegible scroll. Didnt pay much attention that time and we continued all the way to the top. Killed Rak Ashiir and he drop the Runed Ornate Shield and also dropped...A Key of TORSIS!..

My thought is Torsis is in fact City of Mist and considering the note was in Dragon there is only one other quest giver asking for some scrolls right now...ENTALON!

Still thats 2 possible scroll of 4..Key may open the door inside where Rak Ashiir but still I dont remember if courier also dropped another note with that scroll or not..Will have to check that again when I see em...

Hmm.. i think the Scroll of Vok Na Zov I is for the monk quest, i am probably wrong though.

BTW, this seems to be the best lead for the burning embers, a Mage epic quest piece.
RE: Failed Crypt Robber
# Mar 22 2001 at 3:04 PM Rating: Default
The scrolls of Vok Na Zov are for an Iksar monk quest according to Allakhazam. Torsis was the name of the City of Mist. You get that information from the shamam epic storyline.

The three different illegible scrolls off the spectral courier in CoM are used along with 2 scrolls from MistMoore (one off librarian and one off assistant librarian) as well as the one off the failed crypt raider in Kaeosora to create the Stupendous Tome. The Stupendous Tome is used in the Monk Whistling Fists quest as well as in the Iksar SK series of quests that eventually result in the GreenMist.

None of this is to say that any or all of these items may not be used in other quests as well.

I've been interested in both Entalon and Atheling Plague for a while now, good idea that they are connected. No idea what he gives you though, seems like it's a quest started somewhere else... maybe Cabilis shamans?

I've checked merchants and hailed and asked about entalon and jarldyn at every wood elf I could find between Kelethin, Firiona, and Timorous, with other people trying too and no luck. I didn't go to the DL tunnels in Firiona, my goodie char isn't high enough level to do that yet.

I do have a thought tho... that outpost in Timorous Deep is all Wood Elves... there's a couple of longhouses with spawnpoints at the end of them that could have something named that appears rarely, like Ugrak the Raider appears on the Ogre isle sometimes. I was dubious with them, but I might trash faction just to try and make this work...

I had the note from the pirate in FV and a rapier she was carrying. One of them was no rent and I destroyed the other a few days later for space.

And yes, Fier'Dal are Wood Elves. Just go ask the guards in Kelethin.
