Upon completion of the 15 Anniversary Plane of War mission "War Games", a chest spawns with loot. Among its drops is the "Bloodmetal Inlaid Gnollish Totem".

With this item on you, head to Yaldu Bwor in the Plane of Knowledge (located at -280, 365 -- due east of the small bank).

You say, 'Hail, Yaldu Bwor'

Without the Totem, you see:

Yaldu Bwor growls at you menacingly.

If you have the Totem on you, you see:

Yaldu Bwor's gaze is drawn to one of your bags 'Hmmm, that is an interesting item you have. I can sense the power it contains from here. I suspect you have been unable to discover its true nature on your own, yes? Would you be willing to show it to me?'

Hand in the item:

Yaldu Bwor turns the idol over and over in his hands 'This is very interesting indeed. This idol was certainly crafted by a powerful gnoll shaman. It is infused with the spirits of many gnolls, but in order to gain access to their powers you will need to prove yourself worthy. Here, I will allow you to channel the power within the totem to assume a new form. As you unlock new forms, speak to me in those forms and I will be able to unlock their hidden powers.

You receive it back, and a shroud window pops up.

You have now unlocked five gnoll shrouds (available at any time by interacting with Yaldu Bwor). Leveling up these shrouds increases the AC bonus granted by the illusion effect of the Bloodmetal Inlaid Gnollish Totem (up to 154, reportedly stacks with everything).

This unlocks the AA called, "Item: Gnoll Reaver Fortitude," which has five levels (5/5), each of which is unlocked / awarded as you max out the five Gnoll reaver Shrouds and click the Bloodmetal Inlaid Gnollish Totem.

At level 5 it is a +545 AC permanent AA buff (Do other classes get different AC amounts?).

Speak with him again at any time to get into a shroud or remove one:

You say, 'Hail, Yaldu Bwor'

Yaldu Bwor says 'Welcome back, _____. Do you wish to channel the energy of the totem to take on a new form, or [return] to your original self?'

Shroud window looks like this:

Forget all the complicated methods. Just head to the newbie area outside West Freeeport and exterminate everything with extreme prejudice. It's fast and easy with a level 5 Gnoll.

Every class gets 545 AC from this AA?

The AA window states "This passive ability increases your armor class by 545 points." This is under AA > Special > Item: Gnoll Reaver Fortitute 5/5 Item Effect.

However, I'm not getting a visible 545 in my AC numbers. My lvl 115 Rogue received 30 AC in going from level 1 to level 5.

Ya from what I remember, this is class based. Tank classes get the most. Other archetypes are different.

The fastest way to level this is to illusion to level 5, get temp, go to Kurn's Tower with a 100 cleric and have the cleric pull the tower with Blood of the ________, then fade the tower on top of the shroud. Heals should keep him up while the mobs get killed upon impact.

I was getting 25% per pull at the 4th stage in shroud.

You can pull most of it. The pathing is bad on the bottom floor(s), but on the zone in floor and above it is ok. What you do is cast the Blood of the _____ spell on one mob, then run around. Cast it on a few others for a widespread viral effect. Once you get 10 mobs following you, the viral effect will hit almost everything the mobs run by, aggroing them to you. When do you this it will start a chain reaction causing everything to aggro due to the viral effect of the Blood spell. Then just run to the entrance and wait for your mobs to catch up. Fade on your shrouded character, collect exp. Rinse and repeat.

Careful, sometimes when you pull many mobs the heal may not keep your shrouded character up. I recommend placing the ring AE spell that heals the area near your guy so it will keep him up. Also, divine guardian works wonders.

Oh yeah. If you have a low level mage, hit your guy with the level 25 damage shield. Will help out a bit.

Activating the AC bonus

To get the AC bonus, follow Yaldu Bwor's instructions by shrouding into each form and hailing him while in the shroud. Each time you do this with a new shroud he will tell you, "Yes, quite an improvement. You should now have access to stronger spirits and their powers." and the AC provided by the illusion will increase.

Another raid warrior here I also got the numbers above 153 and 154 from a fully evolved totem. Wizard friend who finished his with me was reporting 205-206 ac fully evolved. And it stacked with the dark elf pirate clicky from marketplace

Shroud down to lvl 5, find a newbie area and get a DS from an alt or however and it takes a couple of hours. It's like exping, killing red/yellow cons makes it go quicker. It's just a PL. It's very much easier if u can find mobs that don't flee!

It doesn't stack with everything. It doesn't stack with the clockwork illusion which has an innate AC bonus.

Correction: Math was all wrong. Thanks Deloranger, My apologies to all.

I was averaging one level per 1.5 hours using Skinspikes-III @ level 10 shroud.
Shaman buffed with Regen and also using Spirit of Puma for a (154) DD proc.

My level - 100 Warrior Raid geared is only seeing (154ac) on the completed 5/5 Totem.
Not sure if I'm missing something for a completion to get the posted (173ac).
Under shrouds it's listed as (all unlocked).

With Champions Aura up I see (153ac) increase. Without it, (154ac).

Also, after each completed level I had to request that level shroud to see the
upgrade in AC from the buff, and to use the illusion from that level just achieved.
So if you level to 3/5 go back and request the illusion from 3/5 to activate it.

I think you have the math wrong. Today using Skinspikes II x 5 (55 minutes of coverage) I put on 105% of a level on the lowest level shroud. If I'd had more time today I probably could have leveled the whole thing in a few more hours.
