- Access to Castle Rulnavis (see this quest)
- Kindly faction with Castle Rulnavis (see this quest)
--- Note: You'll need at least Warmly faction in order to actually complete this quest.
- Must have completed the first Rulnavis quest, "Defending the Castle".

Summary

- Hail High Strategist Galben to receive "Blacksmith's Work Order" and "Bowyer's Work Order".
- Hand in the Smith Order to Olmac (click for map image) to receive two containers.
- Fill the bags with 10x "Tamrelian Sword Pieces" and 10x "Tamrelian Armor Pieces" (random drop from most mobs in the Field of Strife), respectively.

- Deliver the Bowyer's Order to Fletcher Forlen (click for map image) to receive a Woodcutter and container.
- Head to the forest area in the far northern boundary of the zone.
- Right-click the woodcutter until you have 10x "Field of Blood Kindling" (takes 300-350 clicks).
--- As you move around the area, you have a chance to spawn an auto-aggro mob (regular trash difficulty) or aggro nearby Yendan mobs.
- Combine 10x "Field of Blood Kindling" in the Twine to produce a "Field of Blood Wood Bundle".
- Deliver the Field of Blood Wood Bundle to Fletcher Forlen to receive "Updated Bowyer's Work Order".
- Deliver the two Updated Orders to High Strategist Galben to receive "Blacksmith's Requisiton" and "Blessed Entreaty".
- Deliver the "Blacksmith's Requisiton" to Olmac to receive "Hardened Rulnavian Sword".
- Deliver the "Blessed Entreaty" and the "Hardened Rulnavian Sword" to High Priest Squelniss (click for map image) to receive "Blessed Rulnavian Sword".
- Head into The Zekarian (the zone-in field) and right-click the "Blessed Rulnavian Sword" on "a Zekarian colossus"; kill it and loot "Body of the Colossus".
- Deliver the Blessed Sword and Body of the Colossus to Troopmaster Gurkan (click for map image) to receive "Note for High Strategist Galben".
- Deliver the Note to High Strategist Galben to complete the quest (turn-in requires warmly faction).

Beginning the Quest

Hail High Strategist Galben (click for map image) on the second floor of Castle Rulnavis:

You say, 'Hail, High Strategist Galben'

High Strategist Galben says 'Strategist Gromluk did not frighten you? Your stomach has more steel than flesh, though I am sure it does not see as many bones as Gromluk's does. But armies must inspire fear in their enemies. Would it not be better if a Tamrelian foe hesitated to rush our position, fearing that he might be eaten alive? We embrace our learned cannibal, since we all hunger for the flesh of our enemies. What troubles me are the invisible spies and the talk of new tactics devised by Tamrel's high tactician, Drelg. I must begin implementing my plan... And you shall help. Take these work orders and deliver them to Olmac and Forlen. The day Tamrel crumbles is nigh.'

You receive "Blacksmith's Work Order" and "Bowyer's Work Order".

Olmac the Smith: Steel Gathering

Hand in "Blacksmith's Work Order" to Deliver the Work Order to Olmac (click for map image):

Olmac scratches his head. 'A strange request, no doubt, but I don't see another way to make that sword Galben wants... it takes too many folds of the steel, and I don't have enough material as it is, and...' Olmac chuckles. 'Oh, you don't care about that, do you? Here's what I need: swords and armor, lots of them. Take these bags and fill them with the scraps of steel on the bodies of our enemies. That just might be enough...'

You receive two containers: "Tamrelian Sword Bag" and "Tamrelian Armor Bag". Fill the bags with 10x "Tamrelian Sword Pieces" and 10x "Tamrelian Armor Pieces" (random drop from most mobs in the Field of Strife), respectively.

Deliver the filled bags to Olmac:

Olmac strains his muscles as he sets the sacks of steel on his workbench. 'This has to be enough... I don't know how I'm going to be able to fit all of this into one blade, but I'll manage somehow. I don't want Galben to send Frellum or Gromluk sniffing around here. Give Galben the updated order. I'll have the sword ready when he needs it!'

You receive "Updated Blacksmith's Work Order".

Forlen the Fletcher: Tree Cutting

Hand in the "Bowyer's Work Order" to Fletcher Forlen (click for map image):

Fletcher Forlen says 'What kind of bow? How many arrows? That's a lot of wood. We've already stripped most of the trees, but more still stand in the Field of Blood. It's hard wood, but it's still flexible enough and should make sturdy bows and arrows. You can use my axe, and you can bind the wood with this twine. This is going to be a big job! I'm going to be up all night; I just know it...'

You receive a "Rulnavian Woodcutter" and "Kindling Twine" (10-slot container).

Head into The Zekarian (the zone-in field) and right-click the woodcutter along the northern, eastern, and/or the northwestern boundaries of the zone until you have 10x "Field of Blood Kindling". You can expect to do 300-350 clicks (not counting attempts that tell you to click somewhere else) before you've obtained all 10.

Emotes you'll see as you do this:

You swing your axe poorly and hit wood with the blunt end.
--- This is a failed click. Get used to seeing this.

You should try a different part of the forest for more productive results.
--- Try somewhere else (you can come back to the same location after doing clicks in other areas).

A hidden creature of the forest hears your pathetic efforts and grows angry.
--- "an angered tree" or "a Yendan forest servant" has spawned and is now auto-aggro on you.

The warders and keepers are angered by your hostility toward the trees!
--- High chance of aggro'ing nearby "a Yendan _____" zone population (can be faded or memblurred off).

You swing hard and true, and a piece of fine wood falls from the tree you strike.
--- This is what you want to see, 10 times.

Once spawned, "an angered tree" and "a Yendan forest servant" remain auto-aggro even after fade effects (aggro can be dropped via long distance or by zoning, however). These despawn a short time after being left idle. Note that these can spawn as you click the axe AND as random spawns while you are on this part of the quest, so be prepared for aggro as you move around in the forest. These mobs, like the other Yendans, are not KOS to anyone but the player who triggered them.

"a Yendan forest servant" hits for a max ~15,500; flurries; single-target rampages; and casts "Boisterousness", "Quick Defense", and "Thundering Smash":

Boisterousness: Targeted AE 60', (-900)

Decree: Single Target, Magic (-950)

5: Decrease Endurance by 500 per tick
11: Decrease Mana by 500 per tick

Once you have 10x "Field of Blood Kindling" them in the "Kindling Twine" container to produce a "Field of Blood Wood Bundle".

Deliver the "Field of Blood Wood Bundle" and the "Rulnavian Woodcutter" to Fletcher Forlen:

Fletcher Forlen unwraps the package of wood and lays it on the table. 'A fine specimen! The forest protectors didn't harass you too much, I trust? It must have taken some mighty blows to down those trees. I never was able to fell one myself. You should rest your arms, for once I have worked my craft, Galben will soon have you pulling these yews and slaying Tamrelian soldiers!

You receive "Updated Bowyer's Work Order".

Updated Orders

Deliver the "Updated Blacksmith's Work Order" and "Updated Bowyer's Work Order" to High Strategist Galben:

High Strategist Galben motions for you to come closer. 'Strategy or Tactics, _____? Which one wins the battle? We fight to answer this question. We fight until we can't remember a day without war. But today is the beginning of the end. We will answer this question with the colossus. Take the sword from Olmac and bring it to High Priest Squelniss. He knows the blessings of our great father, Rallos Zek. And with them, you shall slay a colossus and bring its body to Gurkan.

You receive "Blacksmith's Requisiton" and "Blessed Entreaty".

The Rulnavian Sword

Deliver the "Blacksmith's Requisiton" to Olmac:

Olmac says 'It is finished. See how the metal still glows a dim red, and see the ripples of the folds and channels hammered into its edges? It shall pierce even the hardest armor... but the armor of a colossus? Will you even get close enough for the thrust? At least I know my sword will survive that encounter!'

You receive "Hardened Rulnavian Sword".

A Colossal Encounter

Deliver the "Blessed Entreaty" and "Hardened Rulnavian Sword" to High Priest Squelniss (click for map image) on the castle's second floor:

High Priest Squelniss touches the sword and the letter from Galben. 'The prayers will not be enough. Spells and blood will serve as the power Galben seeks. I have sacrificed many. The blood has flowed, and I have chanted night and day. I call upon the any dark spirits that might hear, seeking blessing.' Squelniss closes his eyes and chants slowly in a strange tongue. The blacksmith's sword begins to glow. Color drains from the priest's face. 'The power dwells within the sword now. It will kill a colossus and empty the creature of its stony soul. Once this is done, Gurkan will want the body, no doubt.

You receive "Blessed Rulnavian Sword".

Head into The Zekarian (the zone-in field) and right-click the "Blessed Rulnavian Sword" on "a Zekarian colossus":

A Zekarian colossus is wounded and lashes out.
You feel like you've made a grave mistake.

The colossus hits for a max ~20,000 (no rampage; no flurry) and casts "Colossus Crush" and "Colossus Stun":

Colossus Crush: PB AE 100', Corruption (-900)
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 46154
2: Stun (2.50 sec/999)
3: Feign Death, 0% Success Rate

Colossus Stun: PB AE 55', Magic (-975)
1: Stun (2.50 sec/200)

a Zekarian colossus's innards boil away, and only its strong armor remains.
a Zekarian colossus has been slain by _____!
The ground shakes as pieces of the colossus come raining down.

Loot the "Body of the Colossus" from the mob's corpse.

Troopmaster Gurkan

Deliver the "Blessed Rulnavian Sword" and "Body of the Colossus" to Troopmaster Gurkan (click for map image):

Troopmaster Gurkan says 'You actually did it... I never thought I'd see one up close! I will begin preparing the body at once. Give this note to Galben and let him know I will be ready when he does his part.'

You receive "Note for High Strategist Galben".

Quest Completion

Deliver the Note to High Strategist Galben to complete the quest (turn-in requires warmly faction):

High Strategist Galben reads the letter from Gurkan. 'Good... very good. It is all coming together. _____, you have fought well for me. You have killed for me. Now, will you die for me?' Galben hands you a note. 'These are my plans for the souls of Narikor. Squelniss has heard their pleas rising from the depths, trying to reach our Father. You will answer their prayers. Descend into the realm of punishment and find the one named Katka. You shall become a leader of souls and bring about the ultimate destruction of Tamrel! Return the plans to me when you have accomplished them.'

You receive "Plan for Narikor".

From here, you are meant to do Katka's quest in the Mines. If you've already done that quest, however, you can go ahead and hand the "Plan for Narikor" back to High Strategist Galben and begin the next quest in Castle Rulnavis.

Tree Cutting:

Setup in the south east corner of the north field near Loc: 900 , -1200.

This spot is pretty good because there aren't any giants around to aggro and you can slide north / south a little bit when you get the message to try a different part of the forest message.

I was able to hail High Strategist Galben and get the task to start at amiable (maybe I am high amiable?). I was able to go through the task and get the Updated Bowyer's Work Order and Updated Blacksmith's Work Order, but was unable to Deliver the "Updated Blacksmith's Work Order" and "Updated Bowyer's Work Order" to High Strategist Galben. When I tried to I received the message :
High Strategist Galben says 'The plan is underway, but I must have complete confidence in you before I reveal more. Continue proving your worth on the battlefield.'
Obvioulsy need more faction at this point

After you defeat High Tactician Drelg, loot 'Drelg's Note', head back to High Strategist Galben in Rulnavis Castle and hand in 'Drelg's Note', 'Strategic Colossus' and 'Assault Bow'.

High Strategist Galben throws his head back and laughs as he holds the bloodstained note from Drelg. 'He awaits me in Narikor? What foolish tactic is this? He can rot with a pick in his hand and a whip at his back! _____, you have proven your worth a hundredfold. I might even call you a master strategist in your own way. But war never ends, and the master one day becomes a slave the next, caught by an unseen arrow or snared by his own misstep. One day soon Tamrel will fall. I expect to see you striding over its broken walls, yelling a war cry so long and fierce that it echoes until both stones and bones are naught but dust.

You gain experience!!
You receive 850 platinum .

He will spawn 1,1,2,3 adds dont think its every 25% but last wave is 1 honor gaurd and 2 blood guards it is... very hardcore even for 2 fully raid geared groups... dont even think about it with at leest 2-3+ tanks and 2-3 healers.... possibly need more people with the collosus pet to make it easier... The follow up quest for this castle happens after you finish Katka's quest in the mines.

I did this quest at ally faction.
High Strategist Galben handed you a 'Plan for Narikor' at the end of Rulnavis #2 before he sent you to the mines, now that you are done in the mines, go back to him and give back the 'Plan for Narikor':

High Strategist Galben crumples the plans in his fist. 'There is no longer need for paper. The souls have risen, and Squelniss has trapped them. They linger in this castle, awaiting my word, awaiting the fate for which they were destined. You think me mad? Do you think Drelg of Tamrel honors the wishes of our Father? He too consults the dark shamanic arts and feeds upon the souls of Narikor. His crystallized souls shroud him and his spies from view, and even as we speak he plans to drown our forces in an invisible tide of steel. But this will not happen. You will take the colossus, imbued with the souls you have brought back from Narikor. You will deliver it to the gate of Castle Tamrel, use it to smash the crystals, and finally plant its stony fists through the face of Drelg himself. Go now, and give these requisitions to Gurkan and Forlen. I will have my victory.

He gives you 'Assault Bow Requisition' and 'Colossus Requisition'

Hand in the 'Colossus Requisition' to Troopmaster Gurkan:
Troopmaster Gurkan shakes nervously as he presents the colossus before you. 'It's smaller than the original, but no less fearsome. And the shrieks those souls made when Squelniss confined them to the body... I don't even want to think about it. Take this thing and go. If this is the cost of victory, so be it, but I'm glad I'm not the one delivering the ultimate payment.
He gives you 'Strategic Colossus'

Hand in the 'Assault Bow Requisition' to Fletcher Forlen
Fletcher Forlen hands you a bow as tall as you are. 'The best I've ever made. This will pierce the heart of any wall defender, even at a great distance. It will buy you enough time to march that monstrosity into Castle Tamrel. And keep the bow close by your side: an arrow to the leg will hobble even the bravest guard.
He gives you 'Assault Bow'

Head to Castle Tamrel, from the bridge look up and kill all 8 'a Tamrelian wall defender' with your 'Assault Bow', it will one shot them, then at the base of the bridge, click on your 'Strategic Colossus', 'a possessed colossus' will appear and follow you, it's AI is weird and it will run around a lot, don't get too far away from it, or it will warp back to the bridge.
The colossus has an active timer of 60 minutes, and a second timer for when it is engaged on 'a shamanic resonance', which is 30 mins, that timer does not reset when it engages the second resonance, it ticks down from where it left off on the last.

Upon summoning the colossus:
a possessed colossus cannot enter the castle while the wall defenders live!
a possessed colossus can enter the castle now that the wall defenders are dead.
a possessed colossus has 58 minutes before it loses its power. (shows a few minutes later, so assume it's a 60 min limit)

Upon attacking 'a shamanic resonance':
a shamanic resonance is made vulnerable by the power of the possessed colossus!
a possessed colossus has 27 minutes before it loses its power.

When 'a shamanic resonance' dies:
a shamanic resonance shatters and destroys part of High Tactician Drelg's barrier!

Head inside the castle and kill all 4 'a shamanic resonance', they have a respawn time of around 10(or more?) minutes, they ALL need to be dead in order to spawn High Tactician Drelg, you can attack the resonances, but their health will not go down til the colossus attacks it and emotes, the resonances have a big assist range for mobs in the castle, so clear mobs around it first. The resonances are perma rooted. The colossus won't attack other mobs and mobs will not agro it.

a shamanic resonance: -1690.41, -1725.08, 31.47
a shamanic resonance: -1788.45, -1944.80, 31.48
a shamanic resonance: -1211.93, -2026.65, 31.48
a shamanic resonance: -729.94, -1685.65, 31.48

When all 4 'a shamanic resonance' are dead, High Tactician Drelg will spawn:
a shamanic resonance's destruction brings down the barrier and reveals High Tactician Drelg!
High Tactician Drelg: -1529.04, -1662.73, 31.49

He is red con and will summon a yellow con add (An honor guard) around every 25%, they were not rootable.

I haven't killed him yet, but he will drop one note.
