Call of the Forsaken Info & Guides: Overview | Progression & Task List | Raiding | Visible Armor

About Heroic Adventures

- Heroic adventures in Call of the Forsaken scale in level: As low as Level 75 and up to current maximum level.
- Scale is based on the highest level player present in the zone and affects difficulty, loot quality, and mob levels.
- There is some variation/randomization in the task steps you'll be assigned as you progress through the task.
- Time of completion will vary by your group's makeup (anywhere from 30-90+ minutes).
- Collection items appear as ground spawns midway through tasks (you'll see an emote indicating their appearance).
- Named mobs (or their PHs) spawn midway through tasks (usually, but always, at the same time collection items appear).
- These tasks have individual 3-hour lockout timers (timer gained upon completion).

Experience in Heroic Adventures

- Mobs in these instances grant some experience, but the bulk of experience is earned upon task completion.
- As of a patch in November 2014, less difficult tasks were tuned to reward less experience and more difficult ones were tuned to reward more.
- For an added experience bonus, check out Guard Hamarn's "Daily Tasks".

This is a heroic adventure (1-6 players) that begins with Brother Estle (click for map image) in the Ethernere Tainted West Karana. He is located in the northwestern part of the zone, just southwest of the floating village (/location 265, -280, -91).

TASK IN DETAIL

========================================================================
TRIGGERING THE TASK
========================================================================

You say, 'Hail, Brother Estle'

Brother Estle shakes his head as he surveys the devastation. 'When I first came to minister to the people of West Karana, I never thought this would be their fate. I imagined I would carry the message of the Prime Healer to all the people and bring peace to their souls. I imagined these lands would prosper and that my brothers and I would establish a new temple that would be the spiritual foundation of the Karanas. But when the light of [reality] shines, imagination often withers like shadows in the noonday sun .'

You say, 'What reality?'

Brother Estle says 'Who can say what shadow plays of imagination will foretell the future? The first act in my mind's theatre never showed to me the betrayal by my brother, Trintle. His spirit having been fouled by the cult of Bertoxxulous in the sewers below Qeynos, he attacked me one night on the road. Were it not for the help of a passing adventurer much like you, my body would have been as broken as these lands are now. Instead, Trintle went to his grave, and Chintle and I thought long about whether to abandon our mission and return to the temple. We decided the souls of the people were more important than our anguish at the loss of our brother. We thought our [vision] was still possible.'

You say, 'What vision?'

Brother Estle says 'Now I can see how naive it was. The play has become a tragedy.' Brother Estle sighs. 'The old visions are unwelcome. I can think of nothing lofty. What is left to me now is worry and duty. As a healer, I must attend to the injured. If I lose their bodies, I will also lose their souls. If only [Brother Chintle] were here to aid me in such an impossible task.'

You say, 'Brother Chintle?'

Brother Estle says 'He was always even more naive than I. He could never accept that Brother Trintle's evil was not some sort of possession or mind control, just as he could not accept that such an enormous calamity could fall upon West Karana apart from the wrath of some evil spirit or god. Shortly after the tragedy occurred, Chintle began speaking of visions -- visions of Brother Trintle and the truth behind what happened here. He ran off in the night, and I have not seen him since. I fear for his safety and sanity, but now my [task] has doubled in difficulty without him. I cannot search for him when there is so much suffering with which I must contend.'

You say, 'What task?'

Brother Estle says 'The bandits should not trouble us anymore, thanks to you. Brother Chintle has likely traveled to the southeastern village. Will you [help] look for him there? Surely he holds knowledge about the dark presence looming over us.'

You say, 'I will help'

Brother Estle says 'Thank you, _____. [Go] and prepare. Speak to me when you are ready.'

You have been assigned the task 'The Other Brother'.

Brother Chintle has journeyed to the southeast village. Brother Estle wants you to find him, since he likely knows more about the danger looming over West Karana.

You say, 'Let's go!'

Brother Estle says 'We shall yet rise above this tragedy, _____.'

LOADING, PLEASE WAIT...
You have entered Ethernere Tainted West Karana.

========================================================================
STEP #1
========================================================================

Find and speak with Lieutenant Rolth in the southern settlement 0/1 (Ethernere Tainted West Karana)

Task Window Says: You have confirmed that Brother Chintle headed to the southeast village. Go there and ask Lieutenant Rolth if he has seen the wayward brother.

If You Get This Step: This is a hail update.

If the next step involves graves, you see:

??

If the next step involves pyrotic zombies, you see:

??

If the next step involves hungry zombies, you see:

Lieutenant Rolth points at you with his sword. 'You there, have you come to offer aid to this village? I hope you seek more in life than a single man! I have not seen this Brother Chintle, but there are plenty of troubles to find in this village! The dead hunger. They rise to feast upon the living! We have no time to spare: If the living corpses sink their teeth into the villagers, the villagers will themselves turn into living corpses! Here they come!

========================================================================

If You Get This Step: Around the area are 10x "an emergence hole" (killable). These each spawn 2x "a hungry zombie" which attack random villagers. Upon being attacked, villagers will turn into additional hungry zombies. Once there are no villagers are left alive, the zombies will just wander around the area.

Comment on the Final Boss:

* Our final boss NEVER summoned a single add.
* We had 2 players, with 3 accounts (the 3rd was a bard playing /melody on auto follow).
* We had the 3 mercs - tank, healer, rogue.
* My wife and I took turns clicking "Purified Ethernere Essence" directly in his face.
* You get that clicky by hailing Brother Estle for the final step - both of us had to hail him to get one each.
* The Essence clicky has a 30 second cooldown, so we alternated with a 15 second stagger.
* With that, the boss was straight forward tank and spank, with lots of hps and low dps. Simple.

Good Hunting,
Gigiwoo

PS - It was a fun, challenging HA. I do agree with the earlier post that there are easier/faster Heroic Adventures - at level 96, during 50% EQ anniversary bonus and including the daily Bonus from Clayton Teek, we each got 22% XP and 238 Marks of Valor. This was when max level was 115 with Claws of Veshan as most recent expansion.

Solo'd the mission at 106 mage, but it was dicey. Healer merc was dead, on 2nd pet, and I was at 6% health and kiting about 6-7 adds when the pet finished him off. Luckily, the adds poofed. Frenzied Burnout came back up just near the end or it would have gone the other way.

Got the HA from Teek the other day. The group: 102 chanter with tank merc full lvl 100 merc gear about 60aa, and 99 druid with healer merc (lvl 95 merc gear).

Won the fight but by the end druid and merc were running in fumes.
Make sure to hotkey the essence and hit it the moment it refreshes (it is timed with the aura coming back) Essence is very short range, so whoever with essence has to stay close.
It also appears that down to about 70%, Trintle is immune to all spells. Out of the full assortment of chanter and druid spells, only tash landed. I kept trying though and at 69% spells started landing. At this moment, popped spires, haze, grandeur, insanity, contorton and burned him down.

The slime adds appear to be quite weak, only problem was merc kept switching from Trintle to slimes. Chanter would just AE mez them.
If chanter ran a charm pet it would probably make the first 30% faster, but did not want the hassle of dealing with charm breaks, so used the animation.

Were you standing on top of Trintle when you were casting? It says Trintle is a belly caster.

Extremely hard last fight at 75, the aura put out by Brother Trintle hits for ~13-14k. Not sure if the aura dmg scales with lvls but even the Lava Mass was hard at this level.

Group was decked out in gear better than what the lvl 75 merchant offers, had to give up.

To say that it's Extremely hard is an understatement even. The last fight just plain sucks. Unless you have a very well rounded group, I would not recommend this particular adventure to anyone. I attempted it with my warrior and boxed shaman plus two J5 mercs. It's one thing to keep Trintle debuffed, but then he summons a bunch of those annoying globs. They go down easy enough but they split into 2 more. When there are so many of them, it easily gets overwhelming having to deal with them and debuffing Trintle. Naturally, the healers eventually catch aggro and when the Tank's AE's are down, it's pretty much over. Ended up dropping it. There's a lot of other easier and less frustrating adventures to do than deal with this trash.

Namer/ph and the collectibles spawn upon Step 5 update.

Collectibles spawn around the ruined village / floating house, even though up to that step you haven't been in that area at all.
