Master Kyvix (/loc?) needs you to track down an item called the Kor Sha Candlestick. It is in two pieces.

First speak with Keeper Rott (/loc?):

    You say, 'Hail, Keeper Rott'

Keeper Rott bows before you. His eyes are kept wide by the pins which distort his eyelids. 'Greetings! You have stumbled upon the cave of the Keepers. We record the arcane secrets of the Brood of Kotiz. We have scribed many spells and make them available to all those who are deserving. Please, have a look.'

You say, 'I am the chosen occultist.'

Keeper Rott kneels before you abjectly. 'Oh, great occultist! I am glad you have arrived, but I do not have the artifacts Kyvix seeks. You will have to seek out the sarnak revenants who still hold the precious stem and base. Get them and take them with your occultist skullcap back to Master Kyvix. Since you are headed in the general direction, I also have an [additional mission], if you do not mind.'

Kill "a sarnak revenant" in the fort in Lake of Ill Omen (/loc?) to loot a Foot of Candlestick (identifies as "Foot of a Kor Sha Candlestick") and Stem of Candlestick (identifies as "Stem of a Kor Sha Candlestick"). Return both pieces to Master Kyvix.

    You say, 'Hail, Master Kyvix'

Master Kyvix says 'So you are expecting to earn your way to rank of
revenant, eh? You shall when I have the base and stem of the candle your
    occultist skullcap.'

Give him the pieces and your Occultist Skullcap.

Master Kyvix grabs the candle parts and puts them in an odd pouch, then takes your cap which disintegrates in his palm. He hands you another cap. 'Welcome, Revenant ______. You have done well. The Harbinger awaits you. He
    seeks a [new revenant].'

Your faction standing with Brood of Kotiz got better.
Your faction standing with Legion of Cabilis got better.
    You gain experience!
You receive 6 gold from Master Kyvix.

Need opening dialogues, faction requirements if any.

    stem and foot of candlestick

Farmed the halls of sarnak fort for about 45 minutes and got both drops. Revenants don't pop in the throne room as far as i know.

I was confused because the Sarnak Revenant still drops the note that says he doesn't have the base, but indeed he does still drop it. Just head to the sarnak fortress in the southwest corner of LOIO and kill all the sarnaks in the halls (don't go to the throne room) and you'll get it eventually. Every one I killed dropped the stem except the one who finally dropped the base. Handed them in with my 24 Ikky Nec no problem.

I just handed in the two candlestick pieces and the occultist skullcap with my 41 DE necro, and received the reward.

DE necro is kindly to Master Kyvix, and did not use any illusions or other faction modifications.

The two pieces of the candlestick dropped in the Sarnak Fortress in Lake of Ill Omen inside in the corridors near the back entrance, so no need to find the swashbuckler.

I am a DEF NEC and had to use invis to get to the masters for this quest, and I was actually going to do the 1st since you have to do all 5 before doing the 6th. Found out once I took invis off all of the Masters were "scowl at you- ready to attack." I was hidden though so they wouldn't attack. I don't recommend you heed this guys word that if your Dark Elf, go ahead and do this. You'll end up being the blood on the iron fist of the Master Kynix and his buddies.

Since I am now just seeing this post:

Obviously, the person went through a lot of trouble to get his/her faction to the point where he/she could get into Cabilis. Yes, anyone can get in there, but one has to go through some effort to do so.

    Just my two coppers...

ya know, this quest is far too easy for me to be stuck. I have the stem and foot. Am I missing some dialogue here? I go to hand in the stem and foot and 5th rank cap, and he returns it all to me. What am I doing wrong? I"m also a DE necro using iksar illusion potions. I con amiable to master Kyvix.

Okay. Found out today this is a faction problem. You must be warmly faction to receive revenant cap. So go kill iksar exiles and bandits in WW to get to kinly, then go to iksar hermit and hail him... you get faction for each hail. Didnt work at amiably, so im assuming it works at kindly, to raise up to warmly. Good Luck

I can confirm both the base and the stick drop off of Sanak Revenant's, in the sarnak fort in LOIO. Might as well stay to kill Gem oracle for your next skullcap quest. Need a (Gem of Yet to Come).

If you hand in the stein from the swashbuckler to Grype, he just takes it and calls you a sucker.

Just a quick FYI...spent hours camping the halfling and got 'a stein' did the turn-in with Grype and he ate it. So I reported the bug got my stein back. After the next patch I returned and handed in again hoping they had fixed it. They hadn't.

As an update everything from this quest does exist and can be done just as the walk through states. However I have collected the stem, base, and of course have the 5th cap but when I turned the items in I received nothing in return. I /petitioned and got my items back but I was curious as to what went wrong. I am a DE Necro that conned amiable before I did the turn in. Do I have to have a higher faction to complete the quest? And how do you get the quest NPC to talk about what is needed for the 6th cap? help pls
    Yeah

I am still not sure if the base drops anymore from the revanents since that note started dropping. I have been killing in the fort for about 5 hours today, in that time I have killed 8 revanents and all dropped stems, so the search continues.
    finished this today

I got my stem from a sarnak revealer.
I got the halfing swashbuckler after days of camping and seeing just about every named there was, including red eye jack for the next quest.

I turned in the stein to Grype for the foot of candlestick, and completed the quest with master zyvix. june 23rd 2003.

As today April 19, 2003, i found the stern on the first revant i killed. The rogue-guy in FV also spawns near loio zone. Killed hin 2 times in one hour while doing MNK shacke quest there.
About side quest: I was hunting in Loio with my necro at goblin ruines. One of the Spiritcaller dropped "an illegible note". When cast identify on it, it says someting like page number 4 of rott. Seems its one of the pages he is looking for. I hope this helps a lil bit.

I finished this quest over the weekend. Basically you kill and kill and kill until you've looted 4 "an illegible notes" since they are lore. I identified them after to make sure they were all for Rott as a precaution. When I handed them in this is what it said:

Keeper Rott says 'I am expecting pages one through four. Do I have to go and find them myself?!'
Keeper Rott says 'I am expecting pages one through four. Do I have to go and find them myself?!'
Keeper Rott says 'I am expecting pages one through four. Do I have to go and find them myself?!'
Keeper Rott says 'Oh, great necromancer, how can I repay you?!! I know. Here is a spell I recently researched. It should help you increase the strength of a summoned pet. Learn it well.'
Your faction standing with Brood of Kotiz got better.
Your faction standing with Legion of Cabilis got better.
    You gain experience.

I received the spell intensify death.

    Good day,

I started this quest on Friday 28/03/2003 or maybe Saturday 29/03/2003. I was able to kill a S/sarnak revenant (a capital s or little s, don't remember which) on Saturday to get the base. Then on Sunday 30/03/2003 I killed another to get the stem (again can't remember whether it had a capital s or not). Total luck. Took a few hours of camping the back door (I was only person in the zone for a while on Sunday). Once you get it under control move into the long hallway. Little note, if you kill the revenant before the pet, when you kill the pet the revenant corpse vanishes, this happened to me Saturday night (and the revenant had a dagger so it wasn't the empty corpse disappearing trick. I also did a locate corpse to see if it was in the walls and no corpses were in range at all and I was right on top of where it died so kill the pet first, a pain I agree).

As for the side quest. It talks about Firiona Vie and losing 2 pages there, then as they started to head to 'the lake' (although it doesn't say Ill Omen) he lost 2 more pages. So it might be in either zones or both that you have to go to. Haven't done anything with this yet.

    Hope this helps,

    Have fun.

    lvl 35 necro.

P.S. Thanks for the great info I've viewed here, much appreciated.

Thanks a lot. I wil go back into the fort and camp the revenant some more for the base.
So far i have killed 5 in the past couple of says and they all dropped the stem and the note...
I am not sure but it seems to me that, once more, this quest is broken. I think that the mob with the base naver made it into the game so now the revenant drops, once more, both pieces.
I have also tried to locate Gyrpe, to see if he might have been the adventurer the note spoke of. I could not find him at his usual spawn place, despite coming back there to look for him several times. Was that the actual mob the note speaks of? Bah....
Just a side note. I have been dealing with the iksar skullcap quests since lev 10. So far, it has been a huge waste of time (this 6th quest was broken for almost one year, and the stubborn lizard that I am could not stop trying). Now, I finally might get my 6th cap, waaaaaaay obsolete for my lev, and bank it. Then wait for another year or so for the 7th quest to be fixed (my understanding, from reading posts on here, is that it is broken atm), so I can finally start the 8th - which will yield a semi-decent reward.

Nevertheless, Ill be in LOIO tonight.

    Has the quest been changed?

I killed a bunch of revenants last night (after not being able to find one for months, now they are all over the place), but they all dropped the stem of the candlestick - and a note, saying that the base had been stolen by an "iksar adventurer" who is wearing a "robe of the watcher" (thew note says something like "he will be difficult to track with his watcher robe"). Any ideas?
