Call of the Forsaken Info & Guides: Overview | Progression & Task List | Raiding | Visible Armor

About Heroic Adventures

- Heroic adventures in Call of the Forsaken scale in level: As low as Level 75 and up to current maximum level.
- Scale is based on the highest level player present in the zone and affects difficulty, loot quality, and mob levels.
- There is some variation/randomization in the task steps you'll be assigned as you progress through the task.
- Time of completion will vary by your group's makeup (anywhere from 30-90+ minutes).
- Collection items appear as ground spawns midway through tasks (you'll see an emote indicating their appearance).
- Named mobs (or their PHs) spawn midway through tasks (usually, but always, at the same time collection items appear).
- These tasks have individual 3-hour lockout timers (timer gained upon completion).

Experience in Heroic Adventures

- Mobs in these instances grant some experience, but the bulk of experience is earned upon task completion.
- As of a patch in November 2014, less difficult tasks were tuned to reward less experience and more difficult ones were tuned to reward more.
- For an added experience bonus, check out Guard Hamarn's "Daily Tasks".

This is a heroic adventure (1-6 players) that begins with Naturalist Yrelia (map image) in the Bixie Warfront. She is located at about -790, -2120, 50 (up the ramp just east of the portal to the Ethernere Tainted West Karana).

Pre-Requisites for Requesting:
- Level 75
- Completed "The Great Hunt" (heroic adventure)

TASK IN DETAIL

========================================================================
TRIGGERING THE TASK
========================================================================

You say, 'Let's embark on an adventure...'

Naturalist Yrelia says 'Excellent. There's an urgent matter that suits you perfectly. Let me know when you're [ready] to confront it.'

You have been assigned the task 'They've Gone Too Far This Time'.

A group of paticularly bloodthirsty bixies have broken off from the hive to hunt deadly spiders that have nested nearby. Their aggression has caused the spiders to strike out against nearby bixie homes. Help save the town and push your way into the next to subdue the spider threat.

You say, 'Ready!'

Naturalist Yrelia says 'May cool winds carry you and soft ground catch you. Fight well, _____.'

LOADING, PLEASE WAIT...
You have entered Bixie Warfront.

========================================================================
STEP #1
========================================================================

Speak with a fleeing spider hunter 0/1 (Bixie Warfront)

Task Window Says: Something bad must've happened in the spider hunters' camp east of this community. The bixie spider hunters are fleeing through the town, being chased by giant spiders. Stop one of them and find out what's going on. You may need to wait a few moments for them to make it through the town safely.

If You Get This Step: When you zone in, you'll see spiders and bixies already fighting each other. You can leave them alone for now and hail one of the "a fleeing spider hunter" mobs that path down the ramp to the zone-in area.

You say, 'Hail, a fleeing spider hunter'

a fleeing spider hunter stops long enough to grab your shoulders and shake you vigorously while shouting, '[Run], little _____! Run for your life!'

You say, 'Why run?'

a fleeing spider hunter says 'The spiders were too much for us. We tried to stop them, but we--' The hunter looks over its shoulder and starts screaming again as it runs off.'

========================================================================
STEP #2
========================================================================

Rescue frightened bixies 0/5 (Bixie Warfront)

Task Window Says: The nearby bixie neighborhood has descended into chaos in the wake of the spider attacks. Some of the most vulnerable have been cornered by spiders. Kill the spiders cornering any frightened bixies to save them.

If You Get This Step: Head east from the zone-in, where you'll find multiple "a frightened bixie" (both outside and inside homes) with spiders and enraged killers around them. All of the mobs must be killed to "rescue" the bixies. Note that the corpse swarmers have less hitpoints and hit for less (~2,500) than the others. The larger spiders and the bixie killers hit for a max ~13,000 and have regular hitpoints (all mobs stunnable, mezzable, splittable). Hail the frightened bixie to rescue it.

You say, 'Hail, a frightened bixie'

a frightened bixie peaks through its fingers and asks, genuinely confused, 'I'm alive?'

==========================

Assist the defenders 0/5 (Bixie Warfront)

Task Window Says: ?

If You Get This Step: Kill the hostile mobs around the frightened bixies (of which there are many), and hail the stalwart defenders for updates.

==========================

Kill enraged bixies 0/6 (Bixie Warfront)

Task Window Says: ?

If You Get This Step: Kill the hostile "an enraged _____" bixie mobs around the residential area.

========================================================================
STEP #3
========================================================================

Destroy tunnel walls 0/6 (Bixie Warfront)

Task Window Says: The spider hunters seem to have constructed quick-fix barricades in the tunnel to the spider nest. You hear screams for help coming from inside. Break down the walls.

If You Get This Step: Head east from the residential area and into the tunnel that leads to the spider nest. There, destroy the barricades that have been put in place. When a barricade is destroyed, you are AE'd (3-second stun + minor damage) and one of three things happens: Nothing spawns, 1x "a voice mimic spawns (hits for a max ~7,500), or 4x "a shadow lurker" spawn (hit for a max ~2,500 each).

a voice mimic calls in a perfect female high elf voice, 'Oh help me, help me! Please!'

==========================

Activate spider traps 0/7 (Bixie Warfront)

Task Window Says: ?

If You Get This Step: Click on the spider traps (they look like little trampolines). Note that after each click, you can get either 1x "a careful watcher" (standard trash mob) or 4x "an outraged trapper" (weaker variety).

==========================

Kill triumphant spiders 0/8 (Bixie Warfront)

Task Window Says: ?

If You Get This Step: This is a simple kill update.

========================================================================
STEP #4
========================================================================

Save, then knock out spider wrestlers 0/4 (Bixie Warfront)

Task Window Says: Once you got inside the spider nest, it became apparent the bixies aren't trying to stop the violence. Some of the most muscular bixies you've ever seen are inside the nest, wrestling spiders in order to make them more angry and violent. Dispatch them before they incite more violence. You can use the Bixie Knock-Out Gas, but you'll want to kill the spiders they're wrestling first, so the spiders don't eat them.

If You Get This Step: You receive "Bixie Knock-Out Gas" in your inventory. Around the floor of the central spider nest area will be several bixie wrestlers and spiders. Kill the spiders around each bixie, and then use the gas on the bixie.

==========================

Give antivenin to dying hunters 0/4 (Bixie Warfront)

Task Window Says: ?

If You Get This Step: Kill venomous swarmers (aggro-linked 10 at a time; weak mobs). These drop "Spider Venom Sample" that, when clicked, results in "Small Dose Antivenin" which you can then turn in to one of the "a dying hunter" NPCs around the nesting area.

==========================

Kill digging moles 0/6 (Bixie Warfront)

Task Window Says: ?

If You Get This Step: This is a simple kill update.

========================================================================
STEP #5
========================================================================

Scare spiderlings into their dens 0/30 (Bixie Warfront)

Task Window Says: There are a lot of small spiders being grown in the nest, making it hard to traverse safely. Most of them are protected by a larger spider. If you kill the large youngling guardians, the hatchlings should run back to their den, where they won't hassle you.

If You Get This Step: Note: At this step in the task, collection ground spawns become available and a named has a chance to spawn. Pull and kill the "a youngling guardian" spiders (hit for a max ~16,000; AE rampage) on and around the ramps. Each guardian is aggro-linked (cannot be split) with 3x "a spider youngling" (hit for a max ~1,000; AE rampage). All mobs here are mezzable and stunnable. When you kill a guardian, the younglings flee.

==========================

Gather stolen supplies 0/10 (Bixie Warfront)

Task Window Says: ?

If You Get This Step: Kill spiders ("an agile thief" and "a sticky spider") on the ramps and in the rooms, and loot supplies from their corpses (it's not a guaranteed drop, so you may need to kill more than 10 mobs).

==========================

Kill infested bixies 0/10 (Bixie Warfront)

Task Window Says: ?

If You Get This Step: Around the spider nest area, you'll find infested bixies. Attack these, and at 50%, you'll get one of two spawns: 1x "an infester" (normal trash mob) or 4x "a flesh eater" (lower hitpoints; hits for less).

==========================

Take back stolen supplies 0/10

Task Window Says: ?

If You get This Step: In an odd turn of events, you stumbled across a large pile of goods missing from the Bixie neighborhood. The sticky spiders seem to be stealing them, both intentionally and without realizing it. Kill the nearby spiders and secure any supplies they have taken.

========================================================================
STEP #6
========================================================================

Kill Curtis Fig, the bixie avenger, and his mole 0/2 (Bixie Warfront)

Task Window Says: At the top of the spider nest, you discovered a mighty bixie warrior who's gone mad with bloodlust as he attempts to slay everything in sight to avenge his fallen comrades. You'll have to put him down.

If You Get This Step: In the cave at the top of the spider nest are two mobs: Curtis Fig, a bixie, and "Spider muncher", a mole. These two mobs are aggro-linked, so you'll have to fight them both at once. They are mezzable and stunnable, but not rootable/snareable. The mole hits for a max ~13,000 and has an average amount of hitpoints (no special abilities reported). Curtis Fig hits for a max ~15,500; casts short-term melee/spell mitigation buffs; and warps onto random targets on his hate list. Kill them both to complete the task.

Curtis Fig says 'Have you come to kill me? We could've hunted spiders together. But, alas, you share their bloodthirst.'

Curtis Fig has been slain by _____!

Spider muncher has been slain by _____!
Spider muncher's corpse says 'Well, at least we totally stomped those bixies.'

==========================

Kill the Enraged Adventurers 0/4 (Bixie Warfront)

Task Window Says: ?

If You Get This Step: Kill the four NPCs at the top of the nest (splittable). They are "Cassyndra, Challanger of Fear"; "Fear Scavenger Anse the Lucky"; "Grelia, Ender of Fear"; and "Oreginald the Tableflipper".

With Lesson of the Devoted running and during an "XP Bonus Week", 105 toon got 42 AA's. The XP bonus wasn't specified but rumor has it that it's a +50% bonus. Assuming LotD doubles the 150% "regular" XP, that means this mission normally gives about 14-15 AA's at 105.

I have had this experience too. With a level 86 party (3 players/3mercs), all of the trash mobs for the first few task stages are red that flatten the group in short order. I have contacted SOE CS about this and it is intended by design and I am dying due to my own lack of skill ("it's meant to be challenging"). I assume the trash mobs in the level 100 version are not red and capable of 2 shoting a character? I tried the 'endless war' from the ambassador which has similar scaling issues.

Named spider spawned during step #5 scaring 30 younglings. I run level 95 heroics and this was the first yellow com named, all others red. Dropped leggings of latent ether, and mistress's web...a decent lvl 100 ring that was NOT lore!

Step #2 - Help stalwart defenders kill aggressors
Task window reads, "The nearby bixie neighborhood has descended into chaos in the wake of the spider attacks. Some of the braver bixie guards are trying to quell the violence. Help them kill whoever they're fighting.

Step #4 - Give antivenin to dying hunters
Task window reads, "As you enter the spider nest, you find the spider hunters that were too weak to flee with the rest. Left behind, they're slowly dying to the poison in their veins. Kill poisonous spiders to collect venom, and try to develop an antivenin for your samples.
-Seems to be a completely random pass/fail upon click effect.

Step #5 - Kill infested bixies
Task window reads, "Not all the bixies can be saved. Some particularly nasty ones have been left alive to incubate spider hatchlings. Put the suffering bixies covered in spider eggs out of their misery, and kill anything that comes out.
-Some infested bixies spawned adds at 50%, others spawned adds upon death. Furthermore, some adds I was able to avoid by standing at range and nuking, others aggro'd immediately when they spawned.
