One thing which this information does not tell you is the finishing items are NO DROP. For someone who doesnt have this information and is doing the quest for another person you get useless items at the end because you cant use them!

You say, 'What is elemental summoning?' Vira says 'I hold the secrets to the construction of four tools which assist magicians with the summoning of elementals. I know about the [broom of Trilon], the [shovel of Ponz], the [torch of Alna] and the [stein of Ulissa].' You say, 'What of the torch of Alna?' Vira says 'The torch of Alna was constructed and held by the fire mistress of the same name. Are you [interested] in the [torch]?' You say, 'I am interested in the torch.' A Fire Drake Scale drops from various fire drakes in the Lavastorm Mountains and Solusek's Eye (Sol A). A Torch (identifies as "Torch of Fire") drops from various mobs in Najena. I'm having a hard time locating a merchant that sells the fire emerald... anyone have a suggestion as to where to purchase one?

you can get fire emeralds in any city, you just have to find the right merchent. What i found out is the higher gems, fire emeralds saphire ruby etc, are sold on one merchent whole the lower ones are sold on a diffrent one.

try a blue building in n freeport near the zone tunnel to w freeport i believe they sell fire emeralds

Nope, i've checked there numerous times.
upstairs of the blue building in NFP, merchant lady named Amber, she sells bars of metal also

All giant toes drop from a HG Gornit in OOT. He is lvl 30ish and can be found on the Seafury island.

i can also reccomend this strategy:
look on your server website and see when the next naggy raid is. follow them in staying far away from the action. loot toes and gate out and nobody will mind one bit.
they may even let you loot some "crap" if its lore and nobody wants it who doesn't have one already.
i don't reccomend doing this just for getting money cause people notice. and they will make sure you get NOTHING after a while.

At lvl 29 I got my broom and it is a 1hb weapon also it has the effect reclaim energy if it is equipped and you right click on it after targeting your pet... You can still use the item but you will just not get the pet boost from it until lvl 34 :0)

I am a level 29 mage, when i use the focus items i get a bigger pet. My friend also did when he was 29, hope this helps for all the 29 Mages.

Fire giants are high 40's to low 50's, not high 30's.

Hate to be mean, but there are plenty of low difficulty quests a low level can do, the bullsmasher is given out as a reward in 1 of them, its just a matter of how hard you look for them, and a little luck.

I found out the hard way that there is a bug that causes the quest to fail if you use the torch from an alligator in Cazic rather than the torch from a magician in Najena. Very aggravating to have to go hunting for the components again!

I just used a torch and a shovel from cazic a moment ago, both worked.

not a liar just misfortune. Several of the quests are messed up because people just dont bother to do the quest right to begin with. When someone before you only turns in part of the required items needed for the quest then the next guy gets messed up. the quest giver thinks you turned in the wrong things. to avoid this turn in all items asked for , in the order they are addressed in the original conversation and you SHOULD recieve the quest item. If not PETITION right away and a gm will return the materials to you. It would be a wise thing to resubmite the items in his presence in case there are other problems with the quest.
Just my 2 coppers worth i really hate it when someone jumps the gun and calls names without knowing all the facts .
