This quest begins with Blaize The Radiant in the Temple of Solusek Ro.

(Dialogues?)

He asks for 1 Icon of the Fervent + 1 Ingot of the Fervent + 1 Vulcanized Platinum Bar.

For the Icon, see Jovan in Highpass Hold, found wandering about the large tavern in the southeast:

You say, 'Hail, Jovan'

Jovan says 'Not so loud! My head is spinning so! What I wouldn't give for a [Tumpy's Tonic] right now! They were always just the thing for the hair of the gnoll that bit me.'

You say, 'What Tumpy's Tonic?'

Jovan says 'Ahh! If you need to ask, you've never had one. Tumpy Irontoe in Kaladim made me drink one of his special brews when I lost a game of King's Court with him. I would give anything I own for one of those right now!'

The Tumpy Tonic is brewed (135 Trivial: 1 Kiola Nut + 1 Water Flask). Alternatively, you can see Tumpy Irontoe in South Kaladim and hand him the Kiola Nut and Water Flash in exchange for a tonic. Give this to Jovan for the Icon.

The Ingot is dropped by an Aviak named Gull Skytalon in the Ocean of Tears (an island in the zone's northwest).

For the Vulcanized Platinum Bar, give an Enchanted Platinum Bar to Vilissia in the Temple of Solusek Ro.

Does Jovan still spawn in the Lumberyard Inn?

I've been sitting around checking the 2nd floor of the inn for the better part of the last 24 hours and have seen no sign of him.

He definitely still spawns. I'm playing on The Combine atm trying to get the vambraces and have had some trouble finding this guy, as well.

I logged my Druid on who's on the regular server and went to Highpass searching for this guy. I'm not sure if it's the same for all regular servers, but on The Rathe, *n-o-b-o-d-y* does these quests -- so all ground spawns, rare mob spawns, and rare NPC spawns are always up. Jovan was indeed up in Highkeep. He is located inside The Lumberyard, on the second floor. There is a room across the balcony with two 'a highpass citizen' spawns (If you still don't know which room it is, there are only two rooms. One has a brew barrel, one does not. The room I am talking about does *NOT* have a barrel). Two NPC's spawn *ON TOP* of these guys. One is named Paulina, the other is.. you got it.. Jovan. One NPC spawns on top of each 'a highpass citizen,' it makes it very hard to target and open the trade window since they're all mushed so close.

If he's not up, just sit.. and wait. Considering the average time it takes to complete some of these other armor pieces, I'm not really suprised. I've been waiting five hours now. If I'm able to find an exact respawn time, I will update this post.

If you still need help locating the spawn spot of Jovan, send me a tell.

multiquest
# Nov 15 2001 at 12:47 PM Rating: Default
Yes you can multi quest this, but if you really want to do this without anyones help, the hard part will be getting the nut, im a necro and done this quest a few times now, just because i can.
Your faction for Highkeep is an easy fix if you are willing to lose some Ring of scale faction, do the rouge quest in North Qeynos a few times, Bent Card quest, it can be done over and over again. Then you can go get the icon and ingot all yourself only help you might need like i do is getting the nut. Since i dont have an goodie alt with gate, i have to take my necro to OOT get off the island and hope someone will be willing to buy me a few of the nuts. Or just make an alt to lvl 4 wiz maybe then go to oot and gate back but that is alot of work just to do the quest.
Its an ultra easy quest and always easy to find someone to enchant the plat for you in east commons, unless your server sucks. I encourage everyone that has a cleric or wants to have a cleric to do these quests, all except the stupid shield and 1hb 12dmg 35 dly, you know its not that bad but really not worth it, by the time you can actually do this quest you shouldnt be doing any kind of melee.

Highpass Faction
# Oct 20 2001 at 12:54 AM Rating: Decent
OK if you are KOS to Highpass there is a quick and relativly easy way to get faction; although it does require you to make a human rogue mule if you are KOS or have bad faction with Qeynos Rogues. Run over to North Qeynos and camp your primary character somewhere safe if you are KOS and/or using a Mule, otherwise go down to the Rogue guild and look for Knargon Lanenda, hail him and ask 'What shipment" you get an Old Bent Card in return. These are NOT lore so get several backpacks and fill them up. At this point I had friend transfer me the backpacks to my Primary. Wait until EQ Night around 8pm game time and go to the far right of the zone if you were facing out from the gates; there you will find a Dark Elf by name of Jracol Brestiage give him the Old Bent Card and he gives you a note to Knargon. This causes the following:

Your faction standing with CarsonMcCabe, Highpass Guards, Merchants of Highpass and CoalitionofTradeFolkIll get better. Your faction standing with RingofScale gets worse.

Rinse And Repeat as necessary. I did this with my Barbarian Shaman 8 times with 4 8 slot Backpacks full and went from Apprehensive to Ally with all of Highpass and Keep in about 5 minutes of work. Also makes for good Smithing Supplys cheap.

Take along a druid, thats me hehe, to cast levitate on you and share wolf form and run over the water to kill Gull. You can freely kill him, no other birds on the island seem to care and will not agro on you.

Jovan is on 2nd floor, however, did this quest 2 times, for my cleric and my cleric friend. First time he was in the room to the right, second time he was to the left by Pauline the merchant.

His spawn time is somewhere close to 3 hrs.

quickest way to get tehre is get off at the rock spires, and the island is almost visible from there. Jump off the boat on the right side, and keep going that direction, into the water.

Make sure you speak with Jovan about the Tumpy Tonic first...he will say I would give anything for a Tumpy Tonic right now...then ask him about the Icon of the Fervent, he will say Fervent? I used to know about that...all I have left is the remains of this Icon...do you want it? 1 {Tumpy Tonic} and its yours!....give him the tonic and whala! the Icon is yours!...did this myself having him poof a few times first...he pops again in mins...this will guarantee you get the icon...

Easiest way to get to Aviak Island?
# Apr 13 2001 at 1:19 PM Rating: Default
Just wondering the easiest (and fastest) way to get to the Aviak Island? Have had great luck with all the other items of clerical quest armor and this is the last one I need to get, but just don't know how to get there.

Any ideas would be welcomed send tells to Amelith on The Nameless or post please if you know how.

it is at loc 2000,4000 approximately. Take boat from FP and get off on First stop on sister isle. Start Swimming! I tried soloin this guy as a 36 Hum Cleric, bad idea! Bring a Tank, he is a lv 35 MOB in case it isn't already mentioned. Great way to increase your Swimming skill, and if ya have a tank with ya already and around lev 40, swim by Oracle across from Sister Isle and get an O Robe too : ) Just did both today as a 42 Cleric, with a 35 Pally and a 51 Wizzy! Easy.

Heh, you would have to be in pretty good shape to swim that far from Sister island. I recommend getting off the boat at Sister island just long enough to cast Levitate, or have a friend cast it on you, then jump back on the boat real quick before it leaves. Stay on the same side of the boat as Sister island and keep checking the loc. I forget what it was when I jumped off, but I got pretty close to the loc of Aviak island and then jumped off, running on the water the rest of the way. The boat moves much faster than you could run or swim, btw, and this way you also avoid getting attacked by sharks or whatnot along the way.

Does anyone know or have proof or tried themselves to do any of the cleric quest armor quests with another class? I have a high level necro who can get these items a lot easier than my lower level cleric and he already has a lot of them. Anyone know if a de necro can turn them in and still get the reward?

Yes - these quests can be done as a DE necro. My DE necro has done the bracers quest and is now doing the others for my cleric. You just need to make sure that your Temple of Sol Ro faction is high enough for the quest givers to talk to you. If it isnt, kill some shadow men.

Vulcanized, magnetized bars
# Nov 10 2000 at 10:54 AM Rating: Excellent
Here is the story on getting those needed bars.

1st-you must have enchanted bars. Read the quest and figure out how many you are going to need and what type!

2nd-go to Temple Ro and Hail Gavel or Blaise (his sister). Verify for yourself who to give it to! You can ask either gavel or blaise "What vulcanized" or "What Magnetized". They will tell you which one to give your ENCHANTED plat bar to. DONT stack em, do one at time to be safe. (if memory servers me correctly the 2 names are something like Ostrom and Vasilla. When you hail them you'll get exact spelling.)
How to get Gull
# Oct 29 2000 at 11:46 AM Rating: Default
Ok, in the OOT is an island (approx loc is 2000, 4000). Gull might be there, he might not. The key to getting him seems to be to kill the quetzals that pop. Bring a tracker with you. (druid tracking is good enough). And as soon as a quetzal pops, kill it. These guys are on a 5 minute pop (if even that long.) The quetzals are the ph's. Either they will pop, or Soarin Brightfeather will pop, OR Gull Skytalon will pop. Just keep those quetzals dead.

The quetzals will con green if you are in your low 30s. Soarin and Gull are about 35, 36.
Careful checking rooms in Inn

My rogue at level 18 was bored and looking through the rooms upstairs at the Lumberyard Inn just to see what was going on. Next thing I know I was harm-touched or something for 300+dmg. Last thing I saw was an inky saying something about, "Dont mess around with The Dead", then LOADING PLEASE WAIT...

Nay, just kill some orcs/gnolls in the nearby areas to get your faction up. If your level is too high to get into a group, politely ask a group there if you can assist them (ex: heals, buffs, a little bit of melee) to get a faction hit. Pretty soon, you should be able to walk through HH with no problems.

You can also go into HK and kill goblins for more faction hits (and pretty good XP too). Try doing some of the quests for the zone also, like the scalp and goblin ears quests.
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 01 2000 at 12:16 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Uh.. firstly, how are you going to do the quests if you are potentially KOS to the guards, secondly, it is impossible on a non-carebear server. IN other words, Inkies suck.

So you play on a server where people complain when someone outside the group heals them? The previous post said to heal and buff the group killing the orcs. If you do so, you will receive the faction adjustments from the orc (although no exp), even if you do not melee. I'm not sure what server you play on, but on mine, i've never met someone who complained after I healed them. Super easy way for any healer to raise faction in highhold pass. Besides, what are they going to do if you do heal them. petition a gm, and complain?

BEFORE you do the quests, hook up with an orc hunting group just inside the zone from Kith. Just killing the orcs will raise the guard (also citizen, I believe) faction. Let your group know you are KOS and need scalps, and they will probably let you have them. If they don't they may sell them to you. Once the guard faction is high enough, then turn the scalps in to the guard captain who is usually located over the stone gate. This assumes you enter from the kith forest side. If you enter from EK, just substitute Gnoll for orc, and the same applies. With the exception that it is possible to solo effectively on the gnoll side, and very difficult on the orc side. First, the gnolls are lower level, they spawn slower, and spaced out more, and if you do need to zone, it won't be back into Kithicor. If you try soloing on the orc side, watch the clock. Don't zone at night, unless you are definitely going to die, as someone may be training an undead cleric to the zone, and you'll die anyway.

Speaking of trains, watch out for guard/citizen trains to the zone. Other KOS players may bring on a whole horde. If this happens, zone fast, before your group gets involved. That's a quick way to get uninvited from the group. Try to stay toward the zone side of any melee, and have your casters try to keep an eye open for guards. They don't patrol outside the stone gates, but can be trained there.

The scalp quests are nice, since they raise guard, citizen and merchant faction in Highhold pass. They also raise Freeport militia and Corrupt Qeynois guards, without lowering any other factions.

By the way, to test quard faction, try to con the captain above the gate. You should be able to target him from the pass, before you get in aggro range. If he's not there, the Volunteers, one inside each gate, also seem to be on guard faction, and if you aggro them, you can easily zone before being hurt very badly (or at all). Do not kill the volunteers as this will negate any gains from killing the orcs/gnolls.

do the first part of the second dark elf cleric symbol quest by killing master whoopal - get the illusion halfling mask and go into HK disguised as a halfing. use hide if you have to to turn the gear in - not tried it - but that might work.

you need to hail an edruit (sp) up stairs he doesnt talk to most ppl, but if you say the word vulcanized to him he will say that he can produce the bars for you if you give them to him. but make sure that you give them to him 1 at a time, some time the game bugs , an you may loose a bar, ro something else stupid

Gull and vulcanized platinum...repost.
# Jul 21 2000 at 9:25 PM Rating: Excellent
I hear Gull has an 8 hr spawn time. He spans close to the center of the island on Aviak Isle. However if you are a Wizard or Druid, consider binding yourself on the Aviak isle and after the server comes back up from a patch gate there and kill Gull. He was blue to me at 40.

About the platinum bars...I don't see info here on how to get it vulcanized. I will continue to look. Any info would be good though.
