There are two dwarven smiths at the inn next to Befallen who offer to resize Crafted Armor for you.

Timtok Tonsmith will resize Gauntlets, Vambraces, Helm and Boots.

Ranvigoz Tonsmith will resize Bracers, Pauldron, Brestplate and Greaves.

This reduces the size to small and the weight of the armor as follows: Gauntlets were 5.0 now 3.7 wt. Vambraces were 6.5 now 4.8 wt. Bracers were 4.0 now 3.0 wt each. Helm was 6.0 now 4.5 wt. Pauldron was 4.5 now 3.3 wt. Breastplate was 10.0 now 7.5 wt. Greaves were 7.5 now 5.6 wt. Plate boots were 6.5 now 4.8 wt.

You may need to be amiable to them to get the quest. I definitely wouldn't go handing them your armor if they haven't responded to your hails and given you the quest.

As a 61 Druid (Wood Elf) (Brell Serilis server) these guys responded to my hail and gave me the quest. So you do not need to be a dwarf to get the quest, not sure about them actually making armor for me though, will have to try and see if it works.

A friend gave me 2 crafted bracers, gauntlets, and vambraces. I was told to either resize or trade for medium so that I could use them. After reading these posts and learning that I cant up the size of these items, I am seeing if theres anyone that wants to trade my small items for medium ones. If so send me a tell in game. I'm on the seventh hammer server either resh, or sottan.

As they resize your armor, you need to have something for them to work on first. You get the crafted from the Aviak smiths in South Karana. Follow the links above under Related Quests to read more about getting the armor pieces themselves.

How tyo get them to respond to your hails
# Oct 18 2001 at 9:02 AM Rating: Default
The only way that the dwarf smiths will respond to your hials are if you are a dwarf...if you don't have one just make a lvl 1 and give it the stuff u want him to resize for u

Have any dark elves managed to get their crafted re-sized?

My agnostic DE is naturally dubious to these dwarves.

So is it possible to do this when dubious (or would I lose my armour).

And if it is not possible, what faction are the dwarves on/do I need to raise to be able to do it.

Thanks for any help. :)

Nevermind, answered my own question.

Just do Rebby and Janam note quests till Coaliton of trades folk (FP merchants) con indiff or better and the dwarves will too.

Ok,I am going to do you all a favor, although I should not have to. I am going to explain EVERYTHING about this quest that people keep asking about.

First: Anyone can do this quest who has indifferent or better faction with these guys, Anyone, Anyone, ANYONE! Class, Race, doesn't matter if your faction is Indifferent.

Second: NO! This quest does not work with any other types of armor! ONLY CRAFTED ARMOR! How stupid can you be? It says it right on the post for the quest, resizing CRAFTED ARMOR!

Third: As I said before, the only purpose of this quest is to REDUCE armor weight. However, in the process of reducing weight, the size of the armor is reduced as well. The original Crafted Armor peices fit all races and sizes. If you get a peice that only fits small races, it has already been given to these guys.

Fourth: You don't have to give the armor to them in any particular order, BUT, You must make sure you are giving the armor to the right guy, one guy takes certain peices, the other takes the other peices, TALK TO THEM! Look at what they say, they TELL you who to give the Armor to!

Fifth: The Armor CANNOT GO BACK TO ALL/ALL! That is, once you have handed in the All/All armor, and gotten back the small race armor, it is Small FOREVER! Just face it, there is NO quest to make it big, Sorry, Too Bad, You LOSE!

Sixth: As for How to give them the armor, several people have posted that you can give them multiple peices at a time. Well, my first instinct, from all I know and have heard, is that this is BS. However, I have been wrong on occasion, so maybe you can. However, it seems to me that it might be much safer to do it one at a time, its not like it takes that long anyway! This way, you are better safe than sorry. I think you may be able to give several peices at once, but you have to make sure you are giving all the peices to the right person. For example, Timtok Resizes Gauntlets, Vambraces, Helms, and Boots, but lets say you give him Gauntlets, Vambraces, Helm, and Greaves? I would be willing to bet that even though 3 of those were right, since one was wrong, and you gave the stuff all at once, you will get nothing back. Just Speculation, though.

Good Luck in the Quest, If you need more info, I will be checking back in a few days, post here, I will try to help.

Do not give your crafted armor to these little blacksmiths! They only reduce the size of your armor, not increase it. I now own some real nice carfted gauntlets that fit only smaller races. Anyone want to buy them?

There is a rumor that there is a place/NPC or quest to enlarge armor, but I have not been able to find it.

This is probobly the easyest quest in the whole game. If you give the Dwarfs the Crafted in the right order they resize it and give you a faction ajustment. Be shure to give them the Armor in the right order or you will lose it.

After talking to the NPC, he told me he would resize my gauntls. I didn't read the messages carefully enough, so i thought resize ment enlarge as well as shrink. He took my small gauntlets, and said "Thanks." I petitioned and got a GM over there, and the GM said he didn't think there was a way to enlarge crafted, and i could not get my gauntlets back. But, he said he would make a not of it in his report. DOH!

I got a friend to kill the NPC, and loot my gauntlets. So, I got them back :-). When killing the NPC, my friend bad faction with Coalition of trade folks, and various other Freeport and Qeynos (i think?) groups. It seams that people were giving banded and other types of armor to the NPC because he was loaded with loot.

I think if you are an evil race, you should kill these guys once in a while to get the loot left by people who did the quest wrong.

Do you have to be a warrior to resize?

2 things, races that can wear small and medium (ie my inkie warrior) can wear the medium and/or small pieces. I bought some small crafted gauntlets and they fit. I bought another piece (a regular sized bracer) and w/my dwarf cleric who cons amiable to just about every dwarf in Kaladim (every one I've run into at least)and he is regarded as aprehensive to these guys. How do I get some @#$% faction w/these guys?? Cus I'm not gonna just tak a chance of throwing away this bracer.

The guantlets are not lore so you can wear 2 of them, so you can have as many as you want.

# Mar 21 2001 at 10:28 AM Rating: Decent
This quest makes the armor lighter for the small races such as Dwarves, Wood Elfs, Gnomes, and Halflings. If you give them you armor it will be resized to small. It ONLY works on crafted. Once resized there is no way to undo it. Check and see if you can wear small armor before resizing it.

This quest works like any other quest. Hand over the armor and then a split second later you are holding small armor. But only ONE at a time, or you will loose you armor.

Well add my name to the list of idiots in the world. Just sold all of my extra stuff to buy crafted pauldrons. Did the resize quest, and poof i got small ones. Doh, i am a human. Being a newb i petition, get the gm (a bit sado-masochistic in my book) who says that i am outta luck. I figure well i could sale to a dwarf warrior, but i want them. I ask is there anyway to get them resized back. His response is to "talk to the NPC, they will tell you what you can do". I think (another mistake) that i can maybe rotate thru to large then medium. Who wants to drop from the game to come here to check, right? Well i give, he acts stupid and i am out a ton of PP. I respond back to the gm thanks a lot pal, now i have nothing. He gives me the question mark and nothing further. For those experts, i was viewed indifferent (isn't that the way dwarves view humans) on both occasions, and gave one item. I also did an ooc, asking for guiadance to no avail, but in EC it is hard to say squat with all of the auctioning. I am off to whine to their website. I know more wasted time. My advise, stay clear unless you are small. The gauntlets I have say all/all. The GM could have said simply for me to consult my fellow players BEFORE doing more. Even if i sold at a loss i would be several PPs ahead. Off to wal-mart to look for another game to play.

#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 12 2000 at 2:54 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I think I can speak for everyone on this topic. Please people when you know that someone has been camping for a long time, don't pester them about when they are going to leave. Don't sit down next to them to "wait" until they are done. You might be waiting a long time and then the time it takes for you to complete your camp on top of that. The NPC will always respawn and will always be there. Just ask them kindly if they will send you a tell when they are done and 9 times out of 10 they will. These players are tired from camping that long of a period and quite understandably a little grouchy and become extremely nervous at the thought of someone possibly stealing their kill. So, be courteous.

As far as I know, they only work with Crafted armor. And no, once anything they get their hands on has been resized, it can't go back. So don't do it if you plan on twinking the armor to a medium or large sized warrior.

The quest is just to reduce the weight. Very important for non-large race warriors.

Is this for ALL types of armor? Cause Crafted armor is one size fits all. Unless the quest is just to reduce the weight.

This only point of this quest is to reduce weight for the smaller warrior races, but in the process, the armor is RESIZED, it will not fit large or medium sized races, only gnomes, dwarves, and haflings. All you people who are complaining cause you're armor doesn't fit now need to actually READ the posts and the quest instructions before-hand. It is very clear that the armor will be resized.
