I had a tough time with this one, but ended up just farming Beza/Zeka for this one. SHIP and steam could work too as well as MM and Fort Mech. You'll also get some for Legendary Creatures and a few others.

Poi does indeed seem the best zone to do this, however, I tried the method that GOMN below did and it worked only until about the 3rd mob that attacked you, then all others refused to become kos even walking right next to you fighting the 3. I can only conclude SOE/DB did something to prevent this infinite mob attack from happening. It took much longer but I just wiped out the entire zone all around the center fortress and afk'ed in a 8 mob pile of them near the SW area. Took nearly a week but you have to expect that killing so many mobs. 5,000 is quite a lot
Plane of Innovation, go inside the fortress. Stand in one of the doorways that the spiders path through. Aggro a spider. So long as your DPS doesn't kill all spiders before the next one walks up and auto-aggros (they are normally non-aggro), you will have a steady stream of spiders.
