This is a Conquest Slayer achievement.
Although the RIng of Scale and the Claws of Veeshan are bitterly divided there is at least one thing they can agree upon - You are their enemy! - Dracoliches, Dragons, Drakes, Drixies, Raptors, Witherans, Wurms, and Wyverns. (5000) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

lavastorm yard spawn by the druid rings, imps share spawn table with drakes, 55 second spawn, about 25 spawns. non-aggro, take a bow and rack em up. only imps and drakes share spawn, everything else is on its own. watch out if you half kill one, because it will flee and you'll have a hard time finding it & your spawn table is reduced.

This covers 'a fire drake' and their PH 'a_fire_imp', clearing them out so drakes keep spawning.
I spread my two pet class toons out a bit in the open field northwest of the nek forest zone line and let em go. I was killing 150 drakes every 10 minutes, so I guess that comes out to ~900/hour.

Veeshan Peak (off of Skyfire) was good for me (if you plan to do this while not AFK), then I would suggest Gomn's plan. The zone has mobs a lot closer together and there is less running (still a lot) than if u stayed in Skyfire. If you have a strong pet Lavastorm is also good as you can auto target and pet attack constantly, but if you are high level the mobs don't auto agro on you, so you have to target them. I like popping my J5 merc tank 100 and just run thru Veeshan naked (no buffs). The tank will be able to handle the mobs easy and if you have AE nuke capabilities that is even better.
I finished this up in Stoneroot Falls, in the western circle. The witherans are plenty. I set up on a center wall (NW-ish) just at the water and the pathing led to agro and fall victim to my tank merc. Careful though, if you aren't in the right place, so many will agro that they can kill your merc.
This advice was perfect. There are three good locations in the western circle for this; just as you enter at the base of the ramp, then the NW-ish location referenced in GOMN's post and a third spot between these two. Only took me one day with three characters split up.
