    The second monk sash quest.

Quest giver is located at -214.00, -1531.00, -117.25, and appears to have been renamed in the revamp from Velan Torresk to Brother Velan Torresk (either that or mobs get prefix titles now)
You need at least low amiable faction (150 ish) to get this quest.

    Full dialogue:

You say, 'Hail, Brother Velan Torresk'

Brother Velan Torresk says 'Greetings, XXX! I am Velan Torresk of the Ashen Order. I am in charge of training the newest members of our clan, and helping them advance their skills and rank. When members perform certain tasks on behalf of the Order, they advance to a higher rank in our clan, and are awarded a special [sash].

    You say, 'What special sash?'

Brother Velan Torresk says 'The Sashes of Order are given out by the various trainers of our clan. I give out the [white training sash] and the [yellow Sash of Order], and [Reyia] is in charge of the [orange and red sashes].'

You say, 'What yellow sash of order?'

Brother Velan Torresk says 'To earn the yellow sash, you must prove yourself to be very skilled in the art of fighting. The lands to the west and south of freeport are filled with dangerous beasts that often prey upon innocent travelers. Help protect our merchant caravans and traveling citizens, while at the same time practicing your defensive skills, and eliminating these deadly creatures from the surrounding landscape. bring me a giant snake rattle, a Deathfist slashed belt, the chitin of a desert tarantula, and turn in your white training sash, and I shall reward your noble work with our yellow Sash of Order. Good luck, XXX!

Brother Velan Torresk says 'Ah, very good. You are well on your way to earning the yellow Sash of Order.' (says this 3 times)
Brother Velan Torresk says 'Ah, well done, XXX. You have proven that you are a very skillful fighter and it is an honor to have you as a member of the Ashen Order. On behalf of Master Closk, and under the watchful eyes of Quellious, I present you, XXX, with this, the yellow Sash of Order. Go out and make us proud.'

Yes, you can do this quest with an Iksar monk. I've done all of the sash and headband quests with my Iksar monk. For the sash quests, you need faction with the Ashen Order. Kill lots and lots of deathfist orcs (the orcs in the FP newbie zones, and in the EC and WC camps). Also, doing the Qeynos monk quests (if you're doing them first) will help with FP monk faction, and vice versa.

It will take a long time to raise your faction high enough to do these quests.
    sorry

There is a difference between the 2 quests... 1 is a SASH, which goes in the belt slot and the other is a HEADBAND which (oddly enough) goes in the Head slot... Need to read a bit more closely.

Just to let you know, I got this yellow sash at lvl 3 by BUYING all of the essential parts from vendors in Freeport. Im not promoting twinking, since most low level Monks wont have the cash to buy the things ( everything coests no more than 2 gold each)
So if you like to do things the long way, go find them, but for people like me who like to get items quick, then buying the essential parts is MUCH easier.
Do what you feel like doing....that is the great part about this game!!

the chitin and snake rattle maybe but i doubt merchants have the df belts around and to buy them from a Player they cost 3pp. back in gfay the belts only cost 1pp each.

the ones in Gfay are not Deathfist belts - they are crushbone belts, DF belts=EC & WC CB Belts = Gfay and Crushbone

Email me at Stevo8610@hotmail.com plz. Eaglestriker level 3 monk
#Anonymous, Posted: Jul 11 2000 at 12:53 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) A-Wizard is confusing this with the Qeynos Monk Headband quest -- information here is correct for Freeport Monk Sash quest
#Anonymous, Posted: Jul 09 2000 at 2:09 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You need to give the guy that gives the quest 3 putrid rib bones (from putrid skeletons) and the white sash (aka training sash).
    Giant Snake Rattle
    # Jul 05 2000 at 5:26 PM Rating: Decent
If I remember right, the giant snake rattle for this quest is dropped by all the really large snakes in the Commonlands, including Asps and Giant Rattlesnakes; not just the Darkweed Snakes.

Also, make sure you have a healer with cure poison memmed with you when you go after the snakes and tarantulas, especially if you're close to the lower level limit for this quest.
    RE: Giant Snake Rattle
    # Nov 03 2000 at 3:54 PM Rating: Default
One important note--Rattle Snake Rattles are not giant snake rattles. Whenever I tried turning one in, I was informed with that favorite phrase "I don't know what I'm going to do with this, but thank, I guess.
