Anniversary events tend to run from mid-March to mid-April (sometimes to mid-May) each year. They are not available during the "off season".

This is a shared monster mission (1-6 players) introduced with EverQuest's 13th anniversary. It's expected to only be available during anniversary season (mid-March through mid-April).

You must have completed all the other tasks prior to being able to request this one (this includes the group mission "Summoning the Master").

It begins with Sam Napth, a Halfling in the Plane of Knowledge at about -215, -90, -155 (next to the Soulbinder).

You say, 'Hail, Sam Napth'

Sam Napth says 'I've been expecting you. I have great need of adventurers to help me deal with an important issue. There are a lot of tasks that need doing, I'd be grateful if you could help me out. You see, I've been trying to prove to some important people that such things are foolishness. So I've arranged some tests to prove it.'

A task window pops up offering several anniversary tasks.

You have been assigned the task 'A Different Perspective'.

NOTE: Of the characters, Mayong Mistmoore has the most hitpoints; Valdoon Kel`Novar is the most DPS (gets one disc/spell that usually kills outright with a 6-secong recast and another that partially-kills with a 12-second recast; also has an AE mez); Venril Sathir gets a group HP balancer which seems to be the only type of heal available across all characters).

Sam Napth asked you to see the Tower of Frozen Shadow through another's eyes in hopes of uncovering the location of the Shard of Fear within. Ascend the tower and reveal its secrets.

A certain vampire wants to get his grubby hands upon one of the shards of fear that has landed upon Norrath. Sam knows it landed in the Tower of Frozen Shadow, but doesn't know where exactly. Clearly if this were to fall into the wrong hands, namely not Sam's, it could be disastrous.

Sam can send you into the tower when you are ready.

You say, 'Ready!'

Sam Napth says 'Good luck! See you on the other side! Well I won't see you but, um, nevermind. Good luck!'

You have entered The Tower of Frozen Shadow.

a distant voice says 'She took us during the battle. She could feel us dying during our struggle with the heretics. She brought us here, far from home. Do you see why you must go back now? Look at what she has done. They do not see, they think they are home. She feeds her captive souls with knowledge to power her tools of domination. Soon they will be bricks and steel, used for nothing but war.'

To progress through, you have to loot keys from each floor. The key droppers are the same as the non-instanced Tower of Frozen Shadow:

Crystal Key - a large undead gnoll
Three Toothed Key - an angry librarian
Frosty Key - an enraged shadow beast
Small Rusty Key - Cara Omica
Bone Finger Key - an enraged relative
Large Metal Key - VhalSera

These mobs spawn randomly as you kill mobs on their given floors. You will sometimes have to wait on respawn (which is fast).

Unlock the path to the fourth floor 0/1 (Tower of Frozen Shadow)

Retrieve the key to unlock the sixth floor 0/1 (Tower of Frozen Shadow)

Unlock the way to the seventh floor 0/1 (Tower of Frozen Shadow)

Destroy Tserrina and claim the shard of Fear 0/1 (Tower of Frozen Shadow)

Return to Sam Napth 0/1 (Tower of Frozen Shadow)
