Summary

This is the second event in the first Sepulcher raid expedition: "West Sepulcher of Order"

It takes place in the Tides area of the zone (through the underwater tunnel west of the first event). The mobs are live, but you can set up outside their aggro range and engage when ready.

- Kill the 3 Priests of Oseka.
- Heal the Spirits of Kolos, Lunanyn, and Illdaera to 95% while killing the numerous adds.
- Once the last Spirit is healed past 95%, the Herald of Oseka goes active and adds stop spawning.
- Kill the Herald of Oseka to win the event.
--- If the Herald turns into a Crystallized Cocoon, back outside 200' of it and wait for the named to respawn.
--- If it turns into a cocoon, the regular event adds will again start spawning, so you'll want to kill those off.
--- After the named respawns, re-engage and continue killing it, repeating this process if necessary.

Starting the Event

Pull and kill the 3x "Priest of Oseka" mobs around the event area. These hit for a max ~21,000 and aren't known to cast any spells.

Upon the death of the third priest, you see:

The Herald of Oseka bellows, 'What's the meaning of this? How dare you lesser creatures disturb me. The power of Oseka is not to be trifled with, mortals. Feel the fury of the Lord of Tides!'

Mechanics

Around the room are three spirits (in feign death positions): Kolos, Lunanyn, and Illdaera. To start the event, they are at 20% health. Each of these must be healed to 95% (by player heals).

Soon after the event starts, 5x "a life leech" appear around each spirit. As long as these leeches are alive, the spirits cannot be healed.

These life leeches, as their name implies, leech the health of the spirits. This is a slow process, but if a spirit dies, the event becomes unwinnable. If you have enough DPS, you will be able to work your way around, healing one spirit at a time while ignoring the other two. If you are lacking on overall DPS, you will need to dedicate people to each set of life leeches to prevent them from killing the spirits.

Note: Once a spirit is healed past 95% and rises to its feet, the life leeches for that spirit can be ignored as they have no effect on the risen mobs.

You will be dealing with many different adds in addition to the life leeches. (More information on add types in the next section.)

After healing Kolos, you'll see:

The Aspect of Kolos yells, 'I am reborn in the strength of these other creatures Oseka! The strength of my beasts is now theirs!'

After healing Lunanyn, you'll see:

The Spectre of Lunanyn shouts, 'I am not dead yet Oseka! These brave adventurers have given me new life. Embrace me and I shall empower your healing magic with power like you have never seen!'

After healing Illdaera, you'll see:

The Spirit of Illdeara shouts, 'Oseka! I am not as weak as you once thought! Witness now the fortitude of my essence channeled through these brave souls.'

After healing the third of the three spirits, you'll see:

The Herald of Oseka shouts, 'The foolish whims of lesser gods offer no salvation for your worthless lives, mortals. Their awakening offers little protection against the wrath of Oseka!'

The Herald of Oseka yells, 'Truly a pity you weak-minded mortals cannot learn your place. And so it falls to me to teach you. Oseka will reward me well.'

At this point, the Herald of Oseka goes active and the adds stop spawning (but adds currently alive remain alive).

Add Types

The frequency of add spawns starts off slowly and escalates as you heal the priests. To begin with, you will have a few adds total, but by the time you get to activating the Herald of Oseka, adds will be spawning 6-7 at a time (of varying types) every 1-2 minutes.

These are the adds types.

a life leech

Attackable; rooted in place; is non-aggro; prevents spirits from being healed; if left alone too long, can actually kill a spirit and fail the event.

These re-appear soon after they are killed and continue to do so through the entire event. Once the spirit is on its feet, you can ignore the life leeches for that spirit.

a Hadal Brute

Hits for a max ~21,000; no AEs; auto-aggro on anyone in the zone.

a Hadal Underlord

Hits for a max ~21,000; no AEs; auto-aggro on anyone in the zone.

a hadal wakerider

Hits for a max ~21,000; stunnable; no AEs; auto-aggro on anyone in the zone.

a Lightning lord

Emote Upon Spawn: A Lightning Lord enters the fray!

Attackable; is non-aggro; moves around and repeatedly casts this AE.

Lightning Maelstrom: PB AE 1000', Magic (-900)
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 26515

a Servant of the Depths

Emote Upon Spawn: A Servant of the Depths rises from the shallows.

Attackable; is non-aggro; has escalating AEs the longer it's left alive (up to "IV").

Wall of Water I: PB AE 100', Cold (-900)
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 14290 to 14290 (random)

Wall of Water II: PB AE 150', Cold (-900)

2: Decrease Hitpoints by 3950 per tick

Chains of Binding: Targeted AE 45', Unresistable (0)
2: Decrease Movement by 45%
3: Decrease Attack Speed by 45%

an electric serpent

Hits for a max ~21,000; has AEs, but is stunnable; spawns in the pools and has a normal aggro range (is not auto-aggro).

Chains of Binding: Targeted AE 45', Unresistable (0)
2: Decrease Movement by 45%
3: Decrease Attack Speed by 45%

Electric Charge: PB AE 25', Magic (-950)
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 5895 to 9600 (random)

Electric Overburst: PB AE 75', Magic (-950)
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 22515 to 28930 (random)

Note: It's unclear what triggers these effects, but it's possible to be hit with aura spells that have inhibiting effects:

"Curse of Illdaera" (indefinite effect that increases incoming spell damage by 20%)
"Curse of Lunanyn" (indefinite effect that reduces heal power by 20%)
"Curse of Kolos" (indefinite effect that decreases spell damage by 20%)

Herald of Oseka: Fight Details

Once the third spirit is healed, the Herald of Oseka activates. It hits for a max ~30,000 and is leashed to the hill it's found on. It casts the AE "Tidal Shift":

Tidal Shift: Self 0', Magic (-950)
1: 30% Chance to trigger: High Tide (AE pull effect; 14k DD)
2: 30% Chance to trigger: Low Tide (AE push effect)
3: 40% Chance to trigger: Tidal Surge (AE 36k-56k DD)

Herald of Oseka: The Cocoon & Its Mechanics

Three minutes into the fight, you'll see this emote:

The Herald of Oseka retreats into a crystalline cocoon. Strike now!

At this time, the Herald of Oseka despawns in place of a "Crystallized Cocoon". This cocoon is perma-rooted and is non-aggro, but attackable. You also get a wave of trash adds that you saw in the opening phase of the event (a mix of Hadals, golems, and serpents).

60 seconds after the cocoon appears, you'll see this emote:

The Fury of Oseka has emerged from the cocoon!

...And a Hadal mob called "Fury of Oseka" appears, AEing the spell "Wake of Sacrifice", usually several times over and killing everyone within 200' of it in the process:

Wake of Sacrifice: Targeted AE 200', Magic (-950)
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 25936

Death by "Wake of Sacrifice" also spawns a mob called "a blob of living ick" (believed, but not confirmed to be one mob for every player killed by this AE). These mobs each hit for a max ~5,000; are stunnable but not mezzable; and cast two spells:

Chains of Binding: Targeted AE 45', Unresistable (0)
2: Decrease Movement by 45%
3: Decrease Attack Speed by 45%

Icky Residue: PB AE 20', Disease (-950)
1: Decrease HP when cast by 2850
2: Decrease Attack Speed by 25%

"Fury of Oseka" hits for a max ~30,000 and casts two spells (each accompanied by an emote as it's cast):

The Fury of Oseka bellows, 'Feel my wrath as the life is crushed from your body.'

Hadali Strike: PB AE 100', Magic (-950)
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 31950 to 41950 (random)
2: Knockback (4) and Toss Up (1)
3: SpinStun

The Fury of Oseka shouts, 'You cannot fight what you cannot see!'

Venomous Ink: PB AE 200', Magic (-950)
1: Blindness (1) (note: in addition to blindness, this also causes you to lose your target)
2: Decrease Hitpoints by 22075 to 34265 (random) per tick

Three minutes after "Fury of Oseka" emerges from its cocoon, it despawns and again turns into "Crystallized Cocoon". The same information as above applies again, except the "Herald of Oseka" will emerge from the cocoon instead. This process repeats itself every three minutes, alternating between "Herald of Oseka" and "Fury of Oseka" (each appearing with health % where the previous incarnation left off).

Herald of Oseka: Avoiding Problems with the Cocoon

There are three ways to avoid problems and mass death due to the Crystallized Cocoon.

One method: if you have enough DPS, you can kill the Herald of Oseka within the three minute timer so that you never even see the cocoon.

A second method: When the cocoon appears, everyone can back away to a location that's outside 200' of the cocoon (drag any adds with you) and wait for the named to re-appear. (No one outside 200' of the cocoon should be hit with the stacked "Wake of Sacrifice" AEs.)

A third method: It's been reported (but not confirmed) that the "Wake of Sacrifice" AE is prevented by actually killing the cocoon within 60 seconds of its spawn:

Cystallized Cocoon has been slain by _____!
The Herald of Oseka cries out in pain and emerges from the cocoon with blazing fury in its eyes.

Event Failure

There is no known reset timer. The final named can be left idle for a long time.

Many mobs in this event are auto-aggro on anyone in the zone, so if you wipe out during a part of the event when there are many mobs alive, a mid-event recovery will be very difficult and you may be better off getting a new expedition. On the other hand, if you wipe out at a point where there are only a few auto-aggro mobs up, it's possible to do a mid-event recovery and re-engage it at the point where you wiped out. (Idle regeneration of the final named is very, very slow.)

Note: If you let a spirit die during the initial phase, it's believed the event becomes unwinnable (the final named won't activate with just two spirits).

There is no known consequence for allowing a spirit to die during the encounter with the Herald of Oseka. An emote like has been known to occur, but has no known bearing on the event:

The Herald of Oseka shouts, 'Kolos the Mighty? I think not. Dead like all the rest who dared stand against Oseka!'

Event Completion

Kill the Herald of Oseka (or the Fury of Oseka, if that's the mob currently up) to win the event.

Herald of Oseka has been slain by _____!
Your faction standing with Devout of Oseka got worse.
Your faction standing with Minions of Prexus got better.

All adds despawn; "a water logged chest" spawns with loot; and "a mysterious emissary" appears:

You say, 'Hail, a mysterious emissary'

a mysterious emissary says 'The way back home is rarely clear. Perhaps I could [lead the way] for you?'

Loot

NOTE: In addition to chest loot, everyone in the zone receives 10x "Bronze Fiat" (used as an alternative way obtain raid drops, from Sholano just north of the city's entrance.

Chest loot consists of 2 armor pieces (first list) + 2-4 other items (second list) + a number of spells (third list) + 0-1 bonus item (fourth list) + 0-1 Shifting Sphere of Veiled Ascension (cultural aug).
