Veil of Alaris Information & Guides: An Overview | Group Progression & Task List | Raid Progression | Visible Armor

This task is the first in a series of four; a shared task (1-6 players) that begins with Joral in Erillion, the City of Bronze (found at -640, 470, 1 -- in in the northeastern part of the city's southwestern quadrant).

Pre-requisites for requesting the task:
- No tasks
- 81 Skill Level in Alaran

You say, 'Hail, Joral'

Joral says, in Alaran, 'You are the outsiders that everyone is talking about. I don't know if it's true, but the citizens of this city blame you and your people for the strange [dreams] we have been having.'

You say, 'What dreams?'

Joral says, in Alaran, 'The dreams started at the same time you and your people came to our land. Who is to blame? I, unlike the other citizens am not so quick to point fingers. The dreams fill my mind with thoughts of chaos and anarchy. I have never had such thoughts before. It is unheard of here in [Erillion].'

You say, 'Erillion?'

Joral says, in Alaran, 'The City of Bronze. Order and discipline rule here. We citizens do not have thoughts of anarchy or rebellion. But the dreams have changed many citizens as of late. Not only are the dreams making me question authority, but I see vivid images of my dear friend [Uyyina] being tortured by the [Carnifex].'

You say, 'The Carnifex?'

Joral says, in Alaran, 'The Carnifex are brutal torturers who mete out punishment to those that have broken the law. Their services are usually not needed, as the citizens obey the laws. Lately however more and more people have gone missing and rumors of once law-abiding citizens being taken to prison are circulating.'

You say, 'Who is Uyyina?'

Joral says, in Alaran, 'In my dreams, I see my friend Uyyina being imprisoned and tortured for crimes they did not commit. I know these are just dreams, but they are so vivid. I need your help. I need you to see if Uyyina is indeed being held [captive].'

You say, 'Captive?'

Joral says, in Alaran, 'If Uyyina is indeed being held captive, you can find al in the lower section of the city hall, in the prison. Will you [check] for me? I beg of you!'

You say, 'I will check'

Joral says, in Alaran, 'Thank you. I anxiously await any news you may have.'

You have been assigned the task 'Dreams of Chaos'.

A citizen of the City of Bronze, named Joral, has been having some rather strange dreams as of late. It appears that many citizens are also suffering from the same dreams. One dream in particular bothers Joral; the dream in which Joral's friend, Uyyina, is being held in prison.

Enter the prisons below the city hall and see if Uyyina is being held captive.

Speak with Uyyina 0/1 (Erillion)

Uyyina is in a prison cell in the west-central jail block of the lower part of the main building (approximately 20, 445, -43).

You say, 'Hail, Uyyina'

Uyyina says, in Alaran, 'Who are you? What do you want? You are here to [rescue] me?'

You say, 'I'm here to rescue you...'

Uyyina says, in Alaran, 'There is no way for me to make it out of here without getting killed. . . Actually, if you were able to get some of the armor that the guards wear, I could disguise myself and perhaps escape.'

Obtain some Erillian Guard Armor from a guard 0/1 (Erillion)

This is a common drop from guards.

Give the Erillian Guard Armor to Uyyina 0/1 (Erillion)

Speak with Uyyina 0/1 (Erillion)

You say, 'Hail, Uyyina'

Uyyina says, in Alaran, 'I do not know why you would risk rescuing me, but you have my thanks. Many citizens are having strange dreams and they blame the Norrathians. I along with a small group of [others] believe there is something [more] going on.'

You say, 'Something more going on?'

Uyyina says, in Alaran, 'The government is trying to keep something hidden from the citizens. I have no proof of this as of yet, but I am sure it is related to the dreams the citizens of Erillian are having.'

You say, 'Who are the others?'

Uyyina says, in Alaran, 'I, along with a small group of other concerned citizens are investigating these dreams and believe the government is not telling us the truth. That's why I was imprisoned. They wanted to know what my group plans to do. Thankfully you showed up and the Carnifex didn't torture any answers out of me. The leader of our group, Tyzen, has escaped and is hiding somewhere in the hills nearby. I think it would be best if you find Tyzen and speak with ali.'

Speak with Tyzen 0/1 (Erillion)

Task Window Says: Locate Tyzen, the leader of a rebel group investigating the dreams. Tyzen is said to be hiding in the hills outside the City of Bronze.

Tyzen is found outside the city's gates in the southwestern part of the zone (about -1400, 1950, 75).

You say, 'Hail, Tyzen'

Tyzen says, in Alaran, 'You are the ones that freed Uyyina. You have our thanks. I am Tyzen and I think you can be trusted to help our [group].'

You say, 'What group?'

Tyzen says, in Alaran, 'As Uyyina might have explained, we are investigating the strange dreams that the citizens of Erillian are having. Most blame you and your people, the Norrathians. My group and I believe there is something else going on and the government is keeping it a secret. One of my contacts in the city hall claims there are some documents that detail exactly what is going on. If you were able to [get these documents] perhaps we can get to the bottom of this.'

You say, 'I'll get these documents'

Tyzen says, in Alaran, 'I don't know exactly where the documents are, but my guess is that they are somewhere in the records room of the city hall. Obtain the documents and return them to me. It is in your best interest to help us.'

Defeat record keepers and obtain the Secret Documents 0/1 (Erillion)

Task Window Says: Defeat record keepers in the city hall and see if you can locate the Secret Documents.

"Secret Documents" is a common drop from record keepers (found in the south room on the ground floor of the government building).

Deliver the Secret Documents to Tyzen 0/1 (Erillion)

Speak with Tyzen 0/1 (Erillion)

You say, 'Hail, Tyzen'

Tyzen quickly scans the documents. 'These are obviously some sort of top secret documents, but they are written in some sort of code that I cannot decipher. Perhaps my contact in the city hall can decode them. Take the documents to Record Keeper Buorin. Al will most likely be found in alir's quarters in the city hall.'

Speak with Record Keeper Buorin 0/1 (Erillion)

Record Keeper Buorin is found in the first room to the north as you enter the government/jail building).

You say, 'Hail, Record Keeper Buorin'

Record Keeper Buorin says, in Alaran, 'If you're here to [kill] me, make it fast. I would rather die by the hands of outsiders than the Carnifex.'

Deliver the Secret Documents to Record Keeper Buorin 0/1 (Erillion)

Hand Buorin the documents.

Speak with Record Keeper Buorin 0/1 (Erillion)

You say, 'Hail, Record Keeper Buorin'

Record Keeper Buorin scans the documents. 'These documents are indeed coded. I think I can break the code, but the print is far too small for me to make out. If you could locate a magnifying glass, I could perhaps read the documents better. You might be able to get a magnifying glass from one of the record keepers.'

Obtain a Magnifying Glass from the record keepers 0/1 (Erillion)

Again, this is a common drop from record keepers (NOT pre-lootable).

Deliver the Magnifying Glass to Record Keeper Buorin 0/1 (Erillion)

Speak with Record Keeper Buorin 0/1 (Erillion)

You say, 'Hail, Record Keeper Buorin'

Record Keeper Buorin uses the magnifying glass to read the documents. 'These are indeed coded. Unfortunately they are in a code that I do not understand. It appears to be some sort of high level code used by government officials. You will need to take these to somebody else. Perhaps Tyzen can direct you to who you should talk to.'

Speak with Tyzen 0/1 (Erillion)

You say, 'Hail, Tyzen'

Tyzen says, in Alaran, 'So Buorin could not decipher the documents? That is unfortunate. There is another that might be able to help, but reaching them will not be easy. Seek out Nulbar in the city hall and give alis the secret documents that you found.'

Note: The Secret Documents are used in the next task. If you delete them, you'll sometimes be able to still get the next task (and be given the item back), but sometimes not, so it's recommended you keep the documents.

you do NOT have to keep the secret documents for the next task.

if you do not have them, upon hailing nulbar, you will be given the secret documents.
