Veil of Alaris Information & Guides: An Overview | Group Progression & Task List | Raid Progression | Visible Armor

This group mission begins with Gibbledon Cogboggle in Windsong Sanctuary, located at about 20, -185, -32 (due west of the zone-in -- the southern entrance to the inner grassy area).

Pre-requisites for requesting the task:
- Completion of "Stranger in a Strange Land"
- Completion of "Getting Down to Business"
- Completion of "Making Music"
- 81 Skill Level in Alaran

You say, 'Hail, Gibbledon Cogboggle'

Gibbledon Cogboggle says 'The harmonic disruptor is complete! It is time to test it out. There is a little problem though. Somehow the Alarans have learned of our plans to test out the disruptor and have been preparing for our attack. I'm sure that won't be a problem for someone like you though! Are you [ready to test] the disruptor?'

You say, 'Ready to test it!'

Gibbledon Cogboggle says 'Ok, it looks like we are all set. When you are ready to [begin], just let me know.'

You have been assigned the task 'The Sound of Silence'.

The Harmonic Disruptor has been completed and Gibbledon wants you to use it to launch an attack on the Alarans in Windsong. The Alarans are aware of your plans, however, and are ready for your attack.

You say, 'Let's begin'

Gibbledon Cogboggle says 'See you on the other side!'

LOADING, PLEASE WAIT...
You have entered Windsong Sanctuary.

Speak with Gibbledon Cogboggle 0/1 (Windsong Sanctuary)

Whoever hails Gibbledon receives a "Harmonic Disruptor".

You say, 'Hail, Gibbledon Cogboggle'

Gibbledon Cogboggle says 'The Alarans have set up numerous sentry stones that are generating a magical barrier preventing entry to the inner section of the temple. You must use the harmonic disruptor on the sentry stones to lower the magical barrier. Each sentry stone is tuned to listen to a particular note from an instrument. After each use of the disruptor, return it to me so that I can properly tune it to disable the next sentry stone. If you feel you are not up to handling this however, just let me know and I will help you [leave].'

The next 16 steps open up one at a time. Whoever has the Harmonic Disruptor will right-click the first sentry stone, bring the disruptor back to Gibbledon, then go right-click the second sentry stone, bring it back to Gibbledon, etc., until all eight sentry stones have been clicked.

If you try to enter the very center, you'll see this emote and be knocked back:

A barrier prevents you from entering!

The eight "an active sentry stone" are found surrounding the very center of the zone. You have to stand right under the stone for the click to take effect.

If you click the wrong one, you'll see:

You are not near the correct sentry stone!

If you click the right one, you'll see:

The harmonic disruptor has deactivated the sentry stone controlling the barrier to the inner section of the temple!

You'll then bring it back to Gibbledon for a tuning:

Gibbledon Cogboggle quickly tunes the harmonic disruptor and then hands it back to you.

NOTE: After you do the first tuning with Gibbledon, golems called "an unspeaking sentinel" (hit for a max ~12,500) spawn all around the center area. The further you progress in the task, the more golems you'll see appearing. Killing them has no bearing on the task (although there are achievements for leaving them all alive as well as killing them all).

Once you right-click a correct active sentry stone, it turns into "a deactivated sentry stone".

Use the harmonic disruptor on the first active sentry stone 0/1 (Windsong Sanctuary)

Return the harmonic disruptor to Gibbledon so that he can tune it 0/1 (Windsong Sanctuary)

Use the harmonic disruptor on the second active sentry stone 0/1 (Windsong Sanctuary)

Return the harmonic disruptor to Gibbledon so that he can tune it 0/1 (Windsong Sanctuary)

Use the harmonic disruptor on the third active sentry stone 0/1 (Windsong Sanctuary)

Return the harmonic disruptor to Gibbledon so that he can tune it 0/1 (Windsong Sanctuary)

Use the harmonic disruptor on the fourth active sentry stone 0/1 (Windsong Sanctuary)

Return the harmonic disruptor to Gibbledon so that he can tune it 0/1 (Windsong Sanctuary)

Use the harmonic disruptor on the fifth active sentry stone 0/1 (Windsong Sanctuary)

Return the harmonic disruptor to Gibbledon so that he can tune it 0/1 (Windsong Sanctuary)

Use the harmonic disruptor on the sixth active sentry stone 0/1 (Windsong Sanctuary)

Return the harmonic disruptor to Gibbledon so that he can tune it 0/1 (Windsong Sanctuary)

Use the harmonic disruptor on the seventh active sentry stone 0/1 (Windsong Sanctuary)

Return the harmonic disruptor to Gibbledon so that he can tune it 0/1 (Windsong Sanctuary)

Use the harmonic disruptor on the eighth active sentry stone 0/1 (Windsong Sanctuary)

Return the harmonic disruptor to Gibbledon so that he can tune it 0/1 (Windsong Sanctuary)

Gibbledon Cogboggle says 'All of the teleport auras that were blocking the way into the inner area of the temple should be disabled now. Unfortunately, a High Priest has appeared. Looks like you will need to take them out. Good luck!'

Upon the final turn-in, the center area spawns full of mobs: 1x "High Priest Aldior" and several "a silentsong worshipper" in his audience. Clear the area of mobs and then fight the High Priest.

Defeat High Priest Aldior 0/1 (Windsong Sanctuary)

Aldior hits for a max ~18,000 and spawns adds at 75% (3x "a musical spirit"), 50% (3x "a muted brute"), and 25% (3x "a flowing wind elemental"):

High Priest Aldior says, in Alaran, 'Denizens of Windsong! Come to my aid!'

These adds are regular trash mobs (they are not weakened) and do NOT despawn upon his death.

Speak with Gibbledon Cogboggle 0/1 (Windsong Sanctuary)

You say, 'Hail, Gibbledon Cogboggle'

Gibbledon Cogboggle noisily munches on a pickle. 'Oh, you took care of that priest? Nice job. The harmonic disruptor successfully interfered with the sentry stones and allowed you access to the inner sanctum of the temple and one of the high priests, just as I knew it would! Well, my job here is done, and I suppose you are ready to [leave]. Don't forget to loot the chest for your reward before you leave!'

Loot the treasure chest for your reward 0/1 (Windsong Sanctuary)

Clicked around everything - no update... giving up... what a mess...

Was stuck on #6 too for a while, got the UD a smidgen closer to middle wall from pillar. I guess maybe just move around the still active pillars and try click nearby?

This is correct, the click spot for #6 is not dead center under the sentry stone, it's a little bit toward the inner circle.

make sure you're still alive when he dies. necro dropped with mob at 2% but dots killed him. got the "harmonious" achievement proving he did in fact die, but task step did not update. chest even spawned but wouldn't let us open it. all that work down the drain.

Just an addition to this warning, not only alive but with aggro. I killed the High Priest twice, once after I died with dots and once while FD with dots (Necro). Both times the chest spawned but could not be opened and no credit was given for the mission. When the petition was answered I was told essentially tough luck. You have to be alive and have aggro attached to get credit. Now I am going to try it with Harmshield and embalmers carapace up. Should still have aggro but immune to damage. We'll see if that works.

You need to be right under the harmonic disruptor with the exception of the fourth or fifth one. That seemed to be tied to an area around the pillar, I just ran around the basic area of the pillar and it updated (do not think it is bugged is the point there is one where the area it accepts is not the same as the others).

There is one 3 pack of golems up when you start, then after each re tune another group of 3 will spawn (The first group to spawn spawns at the top of the ramp up from the quest giver, do not have your group standing there.

Everything but the final guy is mezzable. It helps to have float in case you accidentally get to close to the magic barrier, you get ported back to the air elemental.

The final battle:
They are suppose to spawn around 75 50 25 but there is a good delay in there the first time at 76 % i started AOE mez and didnt get the mobs till 71. The adds are three legit level 95+ guys, not gimped versions. If you fight in the center area with aoe mez be prepared for line of sight issues with the adds. It happens. If you die during the main fight he dose not lose health, but he does summon! When i ran it the group partially wiped on the second set of adds, at 48 % he continually summoned my monk and never really left the room.

My suggestion is do the first fight outside of the center area along the wall where you wont have Line of sight issues, if you wipe move in to one of the doors and finish him off there.

Group wiped on killing High Priest

We wiped at 10% health on the High Priest. After campfire back, we found the High Priest back at spawn spot, and still at 10% health. The High Priest did not regen. The 9 adds were still where group had died.

We could not pull the High Priest outside the center room. He summoned the puller and healer.

We rushed the High Priest on the stage and killed it. There were no additional adds, the High Priest never regen, and the 9 original adds never bothered us. We received the achievement Harmonous for killing the High Priest without defeating any of their summoned allies.
High Priest Summons at 100%

High Priest Summons at 100%. every attempt we made at pulling him away from his worshipers wound up with the puller being summoned. We wound up having to clear worshipers and kill him in place

You zone near the center building where all the action is.

Walk close to center or outer wall of circular corridor. If you get too close to doors you will be ported to the northwest edge of zone. You either have to walk back or use evac to get near building. Once golems are up, succor spot is safe, but be careful how you move back to the building or you will draw aggro from 3 golems just above succor spot.

Hail NPC to get the harmonic disruptor. Before doing anything else, if you can set a campfire, do it in the corridor, just at the south entrance, where you see 2 active sentry stones.

Start deactivation with the first sentry stone at the north entrance to the building, and move counterclockwise to deactivate the rest. You have to go and retune the disruptor each time. As soon as you do the first retuning and get the disruptor back, golems appear, in sets of 3, all around the outer part of the building. One set of 3 spawns just on the ledge in front of the south entrance. Use your token to go to your campfire to avoid and then kill those 3 golems, so you can go in and out for retuning.

You can mezz, stun or root the golems. Chanter mezz makes it very easy, but you can also use shammy VP for CC and deal with one at a time. Chanter stuns also work.

Once you kill those 3 golems, go and deactivate the second sentry stone, go back for retuning. Once you retune the disruptor a set of 3 golems appear at the next sentry stone you need to deactivate. That will happen every time until you are done.
You have to be careful where you place your group when you are about to deal with the golems that spawn at the south entrance, which is the one you use to go and retune the disruptor. You can move out and stand at the ledge where you killed the first set of golems, near the NPC.

The task locks once you deactivate the eight and last sentry stone.

When you turn in the disruptor you get a task update and you have access to the interior part of the building. From the south entrance you will see 10 trash mobs and the High Priest. Use the north entrance and set campfire there.

You can climb on one of the side walls, target the High Priest and pull him to your side, without getting any aggro from the alarans. You don’t need to kill them.

If you have a chanter, the fight is very easy. Named only has around 1.5 million hp. He spawns 3 sets of adds at 75, 50 and 15 percent. I have been able to burn him down without getting the last set of adds. If you don’t have a chanter, you can still outlive the adds with a good tank using disc and a wiz or druid with evac. If you don’t have evac, you may wipe, but when back you can finish named up.

Adds don’t despawn even if you kill named, but stay at the fight point. If you did not kill named, he moves back to center, and most importantly, he does not regenerate. If you took him down below 50%, but not to 15%, you will still have to deal with golem adds (3) at 15%, but if you took him below 15% on the first encounter, then is only the named you will have to deal with.

Chest spawns at the quest NPC.

Warrior alone did plenty of dps on the boss to keep a controlled situation actually. Boss is pretty gimp
