Veil of Alaris Information & Guides: An Overview | Group Progression & Task List | Raid Progression | Visible Armor

This group mission begins with Reklor Irespine in the Resplendent Temple, located at 1810, -100, 440 (from the Pillars zone-in, head due south into the building and continue south until you come to the last room; Reklor is in the southeast room).

Pre-requisites for requesting the task:
- Completion of "The Light Within"
- Completion of "An Initiate's Task"
- Completion of "At Your Disposal"
- 73 Skill Level in Alaran

You say, 'Hail, Reklor Irespine'

Without pre-requisites:

Reklor Irespine appears more interested in reading than speaking to you.

With pre-requisites:

You say, 'Hail, Reklor Irespine'

Reklor Irespine says, in Alaran, 'Since my [revelation], I have devoted every waking minute to uncovering the truth surrounding the sentry stones. The Nitore will have you believe that the stones they prominently display are the only stones in existence, yet you and I both know that not to be true. I believe that the Nitore have [hidden] away many more stones, possibly to stifle the voices that speak of things other than beauty.'

You say, 'What about your revelation?'

Reklor Irespine says, in Alaran, 'Do you really wish to hear my history? It will surprise you, I'm sure. While my [story] doesn't directly involve the task at hand, I suppose it could shed some light on why I'm still here.'

You say, 'What's your story?'

Reklor Irespine speaks with a reminiscent smile, 'It has been quite some time since I left my studies in Sarith to follow my kin and alir dream of finding peace and purity at the edge of the temple. While I'd originally thought I'd find myself bored and uninspired, I instead found a mentor in Chancellor Corcelia, who insisted she saw a light within me. Before too long I, myself, became a mindful [member] of the Nitore, praising purity and shunning anything that didn't shine in the resplendent light that Ladrys had bestowed upon us.'

You say, 'You were a member?'

Reklor Irespine says, in Alaran, 'Over time I abandoned my cerebral studies, instead focusing my full attention on how to [rid] myself of decay and achieve the highest form of beauty. Still a mortal being at my core, my body inched closer to death every day. This was not suitable for someone so obsessed with perfection. I was not alone in my ideals, however.'

You say, 'How did you rid yourself of it?'

Reklor Irespine says, in Alaran, 'Long before the first stones were placed to erect this temple, the Nitore had devised a way to separate the purity and [waste] within one's soul. The former consumed by the cleansed to feed their insatiable hunger for perfestion, and the latter, discreetly disposed of and left to fester.'

You say, 'Waste?'

Reklor Irespine says, in Alaran, 'Many would believe this temple was constructed to house the splendor that the Nitore claim to hold in such high regard, but the truth is something much more sinister. The beautiful walls designed to retain resplendence, were in fact built to cover up the pit of waste that grew along with the Nitore's aesthetic [greed].'

You say, 'Greed?'

Reklor Irespine says, in Alaran, 'Without much interest in anything other than perfection, I spent my days praying to the sentry stones, hoping they would sing songs of beauty in my presence. For days and days I sat, surrounded by nothing but silence. After nearly a week without moving, I finally heard a faint whisper from within the sentry stone, yet it was nothing like I had expected. The soft, sweet song I had hoped to hear instead manifested in a guttural tone that gnawed at my ears. The [voice] hissed of disease and decay, beckoning me to venture beneath the temple and bask in filth.'

You say, 'What voice?'

Reklor Irespine shakes alir head at the memory still fresh in alir mind, 'I thought I must be going crazy. How could these relics of beauty praise such imperfection? That haunting question was enough to ignite the spark of curiosity within me once again, and from that day forth I spent my time buried in research, determined to uncover the truth surrounding the sentry stones.'

You say, 'Where have the Nitore hidden more stones?'

Reklor Irespine says, in Alaran, 'You have already found a stone beneath the temple that I hadn't discovered. Why couldn't there be more? I'd say the stone's desire for my death is a clear indication that my research is headed in the right direction. Will you [help] me, _____?'

You say, 'I'll help'

Reklor Irespine says, in Alaran, 'I am very grateful. It is a lonely eyistence, living as a shrouded outsider amidst the Nitore. My purity has already been called into question. I fear what would become of me if I were caught searching the in-between for stones that aren't supposed to exist. You on the other hand, could travel into the [depths] of the temple almost unnoticed.'

You say, 'The depths?'

Reklor Irespine nods, 'The in-between is where I believe our search should start. Let me know when you are ready to [begin], and I hill see that you get there safely.'

You have been assigned the task 'Secrets of the Stones'.

Reklor Irespine has asked that you locate and destroy any sentry stones found within the temple, collecting any stone fragments in the process.

You say, 'Ready to begin!'

Reklor Irespine leads you to the in-between beneath the temple.

LOADING, PLEASE WAIT...
You have entered The Resplendent Temple.

Locate and destroy sentry stones beneath the temple 0/3 (Resplendent Temple)

Loot Decayed Stone Fragments from the sentry stones 0/3 (Resplendent Temple)

Locate and destroy sentry stones within the temple 0/3 (Resplendent Temple)

Loot Radiant Stone Fragments from the sentry stones 0/3 (Resplendent Temple)

The Sentry Stones' spawn locations may be random. They tend to appear in small side rooms in the "In Between" (for the decay stones) and the second floor of the temple (for the radiants).

The stones hit for a max ~12,000 and cast "Drifting Decay" or "Surge of Radiance":

Drifting Decay: PB AE 50', Disease (-900)
1: Decrease Movement by 80%
2: Decrease Hitpoints by 18200 per tick

Surge of Radiance: PB AE 200', Magic (-900)
1: Unknown #343
2: Decrease Hitpoints by 26700

Deliver the Decayed Stone Fragments to Reklor Irespine 0/3 (Resplendent Temple)

Deliver the Radiant Stone Fragments to Reklor Irespine 0/3 (Resplendent Temple)

Speak to Reklor Irespine 0/1 (Resplendent Temple)

You say, 'Hail, Reklor Irespine'

Reklor Irespine takes special care when handling the stone fragments, gently turning each piece until it locks firmly with another. A rush of whispers roll through the air as the focused Alaran reassembles the fragments to form something new. With a bit of reluctance and an unsteady hand, Reklor gives you the [reconstructed] stones.

You receive 5x "Reconstructed Sentry Stone".

You say, 'What about these reconstructed stones?'

Reklor Irespine says, in Alaran, 'Place one of these stones in each of the alcoves surrounding this room. If my research is correct, we should be able to summon whatever it is that speaks through these stones.'

Place the reconstructed sentry stones in the alcoves around the room 0/5 (Resplendent Temple)

Right-click the stones in each of the five small alcoves around the room. As you do the last one, be ready for a fight.

NOTE: The task locks here.

Keep an eye on Reklor Irespine in case something goes wrong... 0/1 (Resplendent Temple)

Task Window Says: Unsure what power the reconstructed stones may have, Reklor has asked that you keep an eye on ali.

Reklor Irespine is possessed by an unseen force.

Subdue Reklor Irespine while al is possessed 0/1 (Resplendent Temple)

Reklor Irespine hits for a max ~15,000 and casts both "Drifting Decay" and "Surge of Radiance". Fight him to about 25% health at which point he'll go inactive.

NOTE: Don't DPS it too hard or you could wind up killing him. If he dies before the task updates, hail his corpse to get the update.

Speak with Reklor Irespine 0/1 (Resplendent Temple)

Task Window Says: The visibly weakened Reklor Irespine beckons you to ali.

You say, 'Hail, Reklor Irespine'

Reklor Irespine uses what little strength al has to stand and face you, a wave of regret washing over alir face, 'What have I done? Please tell me you aren't hurt! I could never forgive myself...' The distraught Alaran motions slowly to the back room, 'You'll find a trunk that contains my most valued possessions in the room to the south west. Please, take whatever you wish. It is the only way I will absolve this guilt over what I have done.'

Claim your reward from the ornate chest 0/1 (Resplendent Temple)

Task Window Says: Reklor Irespine has offered you a reward for your invaluable help.

While assisting Reklor Irespine in alir research, you managed to discover many sentry stones within the Resplendent Temple that hold unusual power.

You say, 'Hail, Reklor Irespine'

Reklor Irespine speaks with a sense of urgency, 'I suggest we [leave] at once, before whatever possessed me returns.'

You say, 'I wish to leave'

I got the task but it will not let us zone in with "The way is blocked to you. Perhaps you would be able to enter if there was a reason to come here." I guess this means that "Two Sides of the Stone" also a pre-requisite for this task.

This is a comment worth bumping to top again. If you accidentally kill Relkor, then you are done. No way to finish the task. Drop and start over.

Just did this task today and didn't get attack turned off in time, but was able to advance the script by simply hailing the corpse.

I have done this mission about 10 times so far with a 95 necro with merc tank and boxed 95 shaman with merc cleric and boxed 95 druid with merc cleric. It takes me just under 2 hours to complete it and it is good for 3 AA's for the necro when you open the chest (9855 AA's). Having a tracker helps because the decayed stomes spawn in random dead ends in the lower caverns/tunnels. With the tracker you don't have to waste time running down all the possible spawn sites. Usually there are two mobs in the room with the stone. I usually pull them both inside the room and let the merc tank and pet take them down. Don't use any AOE's unless you want the stone to aggro too. These stones cast an AOE dd that does between 10 and 15k damage and some type of gravity flux. Loot the three stones in the lower dungeon area and then run up one of the paths to the surface outside the temple. 2 caverns lead up, one on each side of the lower area.
Now run up to the second floor and kill the other three stones. They are also randomly located on the second floor. The DD AOE is worse with these and the mobs around them are yellow to 95 on occasion. Slightly tougher fights than down below. This area I usually clear the rooms by pulling and splitting the mobs before I do the stones. There are also wanderers that it is useful to kill first. I have not yet seen a see invis on this floor, different from the regular zone. Again kill the stones, loot them and run up to the third floor and do the hand-ins to Reklor. You have to say "reconstructed" to Reklor to complete the dialog. You will need to place the reconstructed stones in the alcoves around the room. You do this by standing in the alcove and right clicking on the reconstructed stone. Task locks when you click on the last stone in the last empty alcove. About 10 seconds after that Reklor goes active and attacks. Others have posted that if you burn too hard you can kill him before you get the update. I have found that not to be true. When he gets to 25% he falls down and damage stops now. So burn as hard as you can. He also has a large AOE DD. Hail him to complete the mission. The chest spawns in a room behind one of the doors in the room you fought in. If you wipe, and I did once, you can run back and Reklor is still up and active. But be carefull though, he will attack and pull you through the door into the final chamber. Be prepared. Buff up and med up well before you get to the final door.
So far I have gotten:
amber x 4
king's ransom x 2
energetic rod x 1
spiked pauldrons x 1
tri-shield x 1
warmace x 1.
Still looking for the enhanced minion X earring.

Irkspine falls to the ground at 25%. (it's just a ranger and a mage so we go kinda slow)

We have seen from the chest:

3 cloaks
2 charms
4 plus damage weapon augs
3 ac augs
1 caster weapon
1 warmace
3 caster masks

The pet focus, the shield, and the shoulders seem to be rare....or we are having stinky luck.

I'd gather it is just the good old random number generator having fun. I've done this task 8 times, and gotten the pet ear 3 times, the knight 1hb 3 times, and the back item twice. I'm just soloing it with a merc, and looking for the ac aug, damage aug and charm; the rest are all useless to me.

The keyword to get the task is "help", not "depths"

Reklor Irespine says, in Alaran, 'You have already found a stone beneath the temple that I hadn't discovered. Why couldn't there be more? I'd say the stone's desire for my death is a clear indication that my research is headed in the right direction. Will you [help] me, Antibane?'

You say, 'I will help you.'

Reklor Irespine says, in Alaran, 'I am very grateful. It is a lonely existence, living as a shrouded outsider among the Nitore. My purity has already been called into question. I fear what would become of me if I were caught searching the in-between for stones that aren't supposed to exist.
