Veil of Alaris Information & Guides: An Overview | Group Progression & Task List | Raid Progression | Visible Armor

This is the third task in a series of five; a shared task (1-6 players) that begins with a Kedge named Solphius Kelprunner in Sarith, located in the northeastern part of the dock area (-35, -905, 0).

Pre-requisites for requesting the task:
- Completion of "Oseka's Knowledge"
- Completion of "Sacred Relics"
- 73 Skill Level in Alaran

You say, 'Hail, Solphius Kelprunner'

Solphius Kelprunner says 'So eager to help. Prexus will remember your contribution to this war. Head back to Oseka and seek out the sacred ophidians that dwell in the watery depths. You are to obtain several vials of their blood. Once you have the blood, place the relics at the various altars and sprinkle them with the ophidian blood. This will either anger, or convince the followers of Oseka to give up any false hope that Oseka can save them from the coming storm.'

You have been assigned the task 'Tides of Change'.

Solphius Kelprunner hopes that he can convince some of the Alarans and Hadal that worship Oseka to defect to Prexus' army. To accomplish this, you will need to place the artifacts, now blessed with Prexus' power, you stole earlier into several altars and pour the blood of Oseka's sacred serpents over them.

Obtain several vials of Sacred Ophidian Blood from the ophidians that inhabit the bottom of the temple of Rubak.

Collect vials of Ophidian Blood from the Ophidians in Rubak 0/4 (Rubak Oseka)

The ophidians are snakes found mostly in the bottom floor of the temple, and in greater numbers in the water under the bottom floor. The vial is a common drop.

Each of the next eight steps opens up one by one.

Give the Prexus-Infused Conch of Whispers to the Altar of Whispers 0/1 (Rubak Oseka)

Give a Vial of Ophidian Blood to the Altar of Whispers 0/1 (Rubak Oseka)

Give the Prexus-Infused Coral of Wisdom to the Altar of Wisdom 0/1 (Rubak Oseka)

Give a Vial of Ophidian Blood to the Altar of Wisdom 0/1 (Rubak Oseka)

Give the Prexus-Infused Carving of Oseka to the Altar of Tides 0/1 (Rubak Oseka)

Give a Vial of Ophidian Blood to the Altar of Tides 0/1 (Rubak Oseka)

Give the Prexus-Infused Rune of the Sacred Ophidian to the Altar of Serpents 0/1 (Rubak Oseka)

Give a Vial of Ophidian Blood to the Altar of Serpents 0/1 (Rubak Oseka)

The altars are found in the side rooms adjacent to the main ramp. In each altar room are 3-4 trash mobs. Killing them isn't necessary to complete the task, but will make the turn-ins easier.

NOTE: Each time you complete a set of turn-ins, a Cursed Water Elemental spawns at the altar and attacks.

The Altar of Whispers is at 250, 150, 290.

The Altar of Wisdom is at 0, 250, 320.

The Altar of Tides is at -200, -100, 350.

The Altar of Serpents is at 0, -250, 375.

Return to Solphius Kelprunner in Sarith and speak with him 0/1 (Sarith)

You say, 'Hail, Solphius Kelprunner'

Solphius Kelprunner says, 'So my plan only served to further infuriate the inhabitants of Rubak? Oseka's grasp on them is indeed powerful. So be it. They may be strong, but our army will not give up until Oseka and their minions have been utterly destroyed. Aquarn the Tidalmaster was looking for you. It is best not to keep him waiting. Go to him now and see how you can further serve Prexus.'

Love the free invis you get from Imitate Death, that with sneak worked just fine, prolly can w/o sneak but were some si mobs around so didnt want to chance it. Once i found the alters and the right components to hand in was very simple. Doing hand in will not break your invis from ID so dont need to feign agro. Hand in will drop any other normal invis.

After u clear the small rooms w/ altars you can insta-camo/invis after handing the altars the blood you don't have to kill the cursed spawned mob. It does not see thru reg invis.

Can also give altars the items with an FD class if you are quick enough. I did it with a monk np. Just be patient and fast hitting FD. Elemental that spawns despawns quickly without any aggro.

The blood drops took 1.5 hours of constant killing to get 4 of them. While that isn't a lot of time, took far longer than I imagined it should. The snakes are at the bottom of the zone, mostly underwater.

Seperate out the item and one blood. Put 'em side by side in open bag. Hit harmshield. Give each one to altar. Feign off agro.
Necros get 4 harmshields. Makes this .. pretty simple. It won't take it while feigned.
Rogue hand-in

Let rogue do the final hand-ins...giving items to an altar doesn't drop SoS, and the mob which spawns doesnt see SoS either. So, rogue just hands-in the last eight items and you're done without having to clear or kill spawns.

Another way to avoid the Elemental

The elementals spawn facing out toward the main corridor. If you hand in while sneaking they will not agro. You can then cast instant invis and run off.

Only problem with this method is that you will still need to clear a couple of the trash mobs that face in toward the altar. I rooted, snared and faded the other adds. Doing it this way saved a fair amount of time.
trucks

The mobs that spawn after turn in hit like trucks. rediculous. Evac if you can. be ready to cr if you dont have a real tank.
3rd task bugged, or second.

sent bug report, as the person who looted the 4 items in task 2 was not with us and the NPC will NOT give us number 2 again, just one or three. so apparantly the second one should NOT be a group task as only ONE person can move on to win the 3rd task. OH well, another hour or two wasted.

Until they fix this, you can't receive tasks 2 or 3 if you've already done them. My suggestion for a work-around is repeat task 1 with 1 person who's never done any of the Rubak Oseka tasks and then have that person do the hails to receive task 2 and then 3.

Or make sure you do Rubak tasks 1 2 3 in one session with the same group.
