Mabus says, in Alaran, 'You see how these soldiers have destroyed many of our crops? With most of our fields smoldering, and the soldiers demanding of us all that we reap, we cannot hope to escape famine! [Unless]...'

You say, 'Unless...'

Mabus says, in Alaran, 'Although I know you alone could not defeat such an army as this, if you could [divert them], we may be able to gather enough food from the fields to survive.'

You say, 'Divert them?'

Mabus says, in Alaran, 'If you would help us, we seem to have a bit of a [vermin infestation]', it gives you an eery wink, with both sets of eyes, 'and we could also use help with [fertilizing the fields], [reaping the harvest].'

If the Franklin's daily task for Valley is to kill 5 farmers, guess what this does to your standing with Mabus?
Character that is Dubious to him gets the "didn't know Slime could speak common." ... I was speaking Alaran, but anyway.
You can get the tasks if you know the key phrase or have somebody nearby that has better faction and repeat what they say.
Helps to have decent Alaran skill too, I clicked on the text, but my skill is not so good so I repeated back the gibberish I heard.
