This is a group task that was introduced in October 2010 and is available every year around Halloween. It has a reply timer of 17 hours 30 minutes.

It begins with a werewolf named Rhaeda Eveil at about 300, 350 in the Plane of Knowledge (near the main bank).

You must have the completion credit for the task "Terror of Illis Taberish" before being able to request this one. NOTE: After completing that task, you may have to zone once in order for the flag to take effect. If Rhaeda Evel doesn't respond to you, try zoning out and back in.

You say, 'Hail, Rhaeda Evel'

Rhaeda Evel says 'You like my costume?! I did it myself! Okay, okay... I suppose Illis has told you about that nasty [Skinwalker]! You wouldn't be talking to me if he had not! Am I right?! Am I right?! HA!'

You say, 'Yes, he told me about the Skinwalker'

Rhaeda Evel says 'Well okay, let us get on with it. It seems that this Skinwalker has holed up in [snarlstone] den. You will need to go there to kill him, or it, whatever that thing is. '

You say, 'Snarlstone?'

Rhaeda Evel says 'As you can imagine, there are many dangers there normally. I would imagine that the ragepaws and drachnids that live there have been corrupted already. This means they will be even more dangerous! Are you [willing] to take this on and do what Illis has asked?'

You say, 'Of course I'm willing!'

Rhaeda Evel says 'Amazing! I am dumbfounded that you are prepared to put your own life in danger to help someone else! But no guts, no glory I always say! Am I right?! Am I right?! Of course I am right! Let me know when you are [ready] and I will send you to the den directly!'

You have been assigned the task 'Under Your Skin'.

Illis and Rhaeda need you to destroy the skinwalker that has taken over Longshadow's den before he gains enough souls to become more powerful by Halloween!

Find and speak to the Skinwalker somewhere in the den.

You say, 'Ready!'

Rhaeda Evel says 'Good luck and hold on tight!'

LOADING, PLEASE WAIT...
You have entered Snarlstone Dens: Under Your Skin.

(Does this task scale in difficulty by level?)

Find and speak to the Skinwalker 0/1 (Snarlstone Dens)

The zone is densely packed with mobs, most of which see invis. Mobs are mezzable and stunnable. The werewolves tend to hit for a max ~1,700 while the drachnids can hit for up to 2,300.

The Skinwalker is found at the throne in the main room of the zone (northwestern part of the map where Bloodeye spawns in her instances). Once the area is clear, hail it.

You say, 'Hail, Skinwalker'

Skinwalker says 'Another soul for the taking? It is so much easier when they come to me!'

Three KOS mobs (which don't see invis) called "Revealed Skinwalker" spawn.

Kill the real Revealed Skinwalker 0/1 (Snarlstone Dens)

Task Window Says: You must figure out which Skinwalker is the true Skinwalker and kill him.

It's possible the three mobs are aggro-linked (not confirmed). The real Skinwalker hits for a max ~7,000 while the fake ones hit for less (~5,000). You have to kill the real one to update the task.

If you kill a fake one, two more mobs spawn in its place.

Hail Elder Ritualist Longshadow

This spawns in the same spot where you kill Skinwalker after Skinwalker is dead.

Target him and /say ready to leave instance

Having never bothered with any of the holiday missions I thought I'd try this one. Completed the prerequisite task quickly but this one took about three hours and I feel like I mostly wasted my time. It's clear this mission was slapped together as quickly and cheaply as possible. You've got a copy-pasted version of an instance zone where you're sent to "talk to" a single mob who happens to be on the other side of the zone from where you start. That's it, that's the entire mission - just a paper thin excuse to plow your way through a densely packed area while nothing happens storywise.

Not that it won't get interesting... or should I say "interesting" because many of the spawns were bugged and ended up in the walls. Since there was no ground under them they'd fall continuously, warp back to their spawn point, then fall again. I noticed this when the camera clipped into the ground while getting through the entrance hallway and noticed movement out of the corner of my eye. Sure enough it was a drachnid stuck in that aforementioned loop. I could just barely see a bit of their name tag through the wall each time they warped back up. This turned out to be a huge problem because there were a bunch of enemies spawned erroneously this way and they could still be aggroed (mostly assist aggro) whereupon they warped somewhere else in the zone and I must once again stress this is a DENSELY PACKED ZONE causing a massive train. So yeah I wiped like four times (well, okay, the shaman in my three box team managed to gate out each time but only just barely). The only silver lining of this was the mob that started the train would then be in bounds when I got back.

Oh and when sitting at the entrance medding/buffing I had a drachnid warp on top of my team and aggro so that's also a thing that can happen.

Then you have the Skinwalker who of course is not tuned in any way appropriate for the rest of the mission and hits three to four times harder. Fast too. My level 96 beastlord was the one I ran up to do the hail and she got back to the rest of the group who was waiting down below in that same room at 25% health. Had to chain-spam heals on the same level merc tank just to keep them alive. Don't ask me how anyone is supposed to watch the combat spam to figure out which Skinwalker is real because it flies by way too fast when you're fighting just one opponent. Fighting three at the same time? Forget about it.

In short, unless you're going for the achievement or you really want the bunny there are about a thousand better ways to spend your time in game than with this garbage.

Thanks to the extended target window, it is easy to figure out which is the one. Just attack the first three at the top of the list. You might want to make sure you damage all three before killing them one ata time. The new ones will spawn below on the list and be at full health..

Oh, as a wizard I did the hail. Then the revealed spawned and I used abscond. When coming back I was able to aggro just 1 of the revealed, so they are not aggro-linked

if you shrink to the smallest possible and then goto the top left of the door you can "slip" past the door barely... thankfully I am a mage and able to summon rest of group

Tried this with three different toons shrunk to smallest. None of them could get through.

Heres how I got the reward:

Kill everything in the zone you possibly can. Once you are at the stuck door part, petition. Don't take no for an answer. After the quest is removed, petition again and remind SOE its common knowledge this quest has been broken for a couple years now. GM will show up and give you the reward option (least thats how it worked for me). He also said they have no idea why the door is stuck... Good luck.

We've cleared up to the door in the NW corner, but can't get it to open. Does anyone know how to get the door open?

Sent in a /bug report. Boxed 100clr, 98 enc, warrior merc, dps merc. All mobs cleared and door won't open. Managed to use Clockwork Automation to pull some mobs from behind the door until I had the last two name mobs up. Couldn't reach them so logged off in disgust. Maybe I'll try again. On a postive note, the Mottle Masked dropped right away for me. I'll be getting drunk on ale now.

So, we killed every mob outside the door. The zone is clear. We've shrunk, illusioned, and ducked. We've clicked on everything outside the door. We tried to squeeze in through the cracks.

No apparent way to get through the blasted door. Submitted a bug report and now we're exiting the zone, heads down in shame. The door beat us.

This dropped off A Drach Invader during this mission. I guess has the same odds to drop off any mob in this mission as it does in regular DoDH zones. If you're doing cultural may wanna loot mobs while running this task...

After you kill the real Revealed Skinwalker the last step of the task is to hail Elder Ritualist Longshadow who is up on the top of the platform with you.

[Mon Oct 24 23:10:33 2011] You say, 'Hail, Elder Ritualist Longshadow'
[Mon Oct 24 23:10:33 2011] Elder Ritualist Longshadow says 'I do not know who you are, but I am in your debt. I will send you back to where you came when you are [ready].'
[Mon Oct 24 23:10:34 2011] Your task 'Under Your Skin' has been updated.
[Mon Oct 24 23:10:34 2011] You killed the Skinwalker! Only Longshadow is strong enough to break the hold of the Skinwalker's corruption and return to normal now that he is dead!

Just did this task right now 3 boxing with 90 SK, Enc, and Shaman plus 1 Healer and two DPS Melee Mercs. Everything was pretty easy as long as you have some crowd control. Pulling singles can be hard even as a SK but really the mobs don't have many hit points and don't hit very hard by today's standards. I would compare them to the FoS mobs you have to kill to get flagged for this task. I stopped trying to pull singles as it was taking too long and just pulled six and had my enchanter mez them all. The DPS mercs were on burn and I never actually did any damage with my Shaman or Enchanter as the mobs would die before I could do anything with them.

After the hail at the end you are faced with three revealed skinwalkers (far NW section of the map); if you kill the wrong one it will split into two adds. These mobs are harder then the trash you had to fight to get there as they seemed to hit harder and can't be mezzed. I was boxing and it was hard to determine which one was hitting me for the most so I just killed one and it split into two more so I turned and killed another one of the original three and it happened to be the correct one. Once dead the other adds disappeared. I could only survive with epic click and Visage of Death. I used HT to drop the first one pretty fast. Just out DPS them down and if you get the wrong one pick the next one and go to town. If you lose track of them you will have issues.

If you are in a real group it should be easier to determine which one is the real one if everyone takes a few hits from each of them. Just line up and someone take the left, middle, and right one and call out who is getting hit for the most.

Reward is either Option 1: Experience (0.5 AA @ 90) and 105 plat or Option 2: Stambles the Reincarnate (undead bunny).
