 This is a group task (3-6 players) that was introduced in October 2005, and is available every year around Halloween.

It's one of five tasks required to receive a Bone Mask of Horror (illusion click item).

It begins with Barsin, the Bone Collector at location -110, 25 in Kithicor (north edge of the lake in the southeastern part of the zone).

You say, 'Hail, Barsin, the Bone Collector'

Barsin, the Bone Collector says 'You there! Yes you! You look like the type that isn't scared off easily. I have a few projects that I'm working on and need someone to retrieve a few [bones] for me.'

You say, 'What bones?'

Barsin, the Bone Collector says 'I can use all types really. I have a rare give with bones you see. I'm able to fashion just about anything out of an adequate collection of them. The problem is that I'm running low on bones for my [projects].'

You say, 'What projects?'

Barsin, the Bone Collector says 'I don't have any specific projects at the moment. It's the bones that tell me what to make. If you can collect this [list] of bones I'd be happy to see what sort of things I could make with them.'

You say, 'What list?'

You have been assigned the task 'The Bone Collector'.

There are many places you could collect bones from, but some of the more exotic bones are harder to obtain. Here's a list of some of the more interesting bones I'd like. See if you can collect them and then we'll see what sort of creation they will make.


NOTE: This task varies by your group's average level. You may be sent to different zones from what's shown here depending on level.

This is the highest level version of the task (note: you may also get a Wall of Slaughter / Plane of Nightmare version):

Loot 1 Ghast Fingerbones 0/1 (Plane of Hate)

These drop from ire ghasts.

Loot 4 Bone Chips 0/4 (Old Sebilis)

These drop from skeleton mobs in the crypt.

Collect a dragon rib from the Dragon Necropolis and return with it 0/1 (Dragon Necropolis)

Deliver 1 Ghast Fingerbones to Barsin, the Bone Collector 0/1 (Kithicor Forest)

Deliver 4 Bone Chips to Barsin, the Bone Collector 0/1 (Kithicor Forest)

Wait for Barsin to examine the bones 0/1 (Kithicor Forest)

"a bone construct" spawns and attacks.

Destroy the bone construct 0/1 (Kithicor Forest)

Kill it to update the quest.

Whew that was close. I don't know why the bones turned on you like that, they've never done that before. I'm sure my next work will be perfect though!

splintered discordling bone has a horrible drop rate - have killed at least 50 mobs and still not seen it today - took prolly 50ish kills to get yesterday for another alt as well =/

omg... the task states, to hand it in, which is why there is no update, haha! Just loot one and it won't update, turn it in and the update will occur.

I feel so blonde...

I've picked up both golden sparkles listed in this post (got first one from dragon bones, no update, went to toe other, got Lore message) -- neither updated task.

I searched all over for the ground spawn. Found it in the lower tunnel. as you enter the tunnel, the first fork , if you go right , you head to Zlands spot, instead, make a left, and there is a set of bones on the right wall. It spawns there. However, I am thinking this mission is bugged, I looted the skull fragment, but got no notification, and quest did not update. Happened in PoNightmare also with the bone chips. Hope this helps you all

For the Plane of Nightmare bone chips, I didn't have any luck with the wandering "a vexed banshee". The ones in the city in the 'city' area in the south east corner of the zone, "a tortured banshee" dropped them most of the time.

Loc on Dragon Necro Spawn is Neg 156 Neg 1818: Look for a gold sparkle on the ground. This is underground in a tunnel left turn at the bottom. Thanks Flaps From Bert Saryrn for the assist of location.
