This is one of five tasks leading up to "The Staff Retreat" and the group progression mission for Morell's Castle, "Hippity Hoppity Kill".

Of the five tasks, this is the only group task and the only one that takes place in its own instance. It begins with Gurroth Aberrine who is found at location 860, 1200, 60 (inside the house in the candy land area).

There are no pre-requisites for requesting this task.

NOTE: Depite what the timer says, you may be limited to two hours to complete this task.

NOTE: Unlike most instances in this expansion, all mobs in this instance (including named) DO respawn.

    You say, 'Hail, Gurroth Aberrine'

Gurroth Aberrine says 'Hello there. I don't suppose you've brought along any spare food for a [stranded] soul, have you?'

    You say, 'Stranded?'

Gurroth Aberrine says 'Yes, marooned here. I have been lost in this crazy place for days... Or is it weeks?? I found my way here, as here is where I came to find myself tolerated, not attacked by every living (or unliving) thing in the area. I have bound my wounds up as best I could, and set to work finding food in this [wretched] place.'

    You say, 'Wretched?'

Gurroth Aberrine says 'Yes, it is truly dismal. The folks living here are clearly out of their minds. All there is to eat is this oversized candy, which I have done until half my teeth have fallen out. I am starved for some good, solid food, but I fear I will need [help] with this as I am too weak to exert myself. I broke a bone in my hand when I fainted from hunger yesterday, and can no longer wave a sword.'

You say, 'How can I help?'

Gurroth Aberrine says 'If you could lend assistance, I could let you have something of mine which I'll no longer be needing to lug around. All I need you to do is go and kill some hares and [rabbits] as are loping around nearby, bring me back their carcasses, and I will have my first real meal in a long time.'

    You say, 'Rabbits?'

Gurroth Aberrine says 'Three of the speckled hares and three of the ordinary brown rabbits, what do you say? Are you [ready], willing, and able?'

    You say, 'I'm ready'

Gurroth Aberrine says 'Splendid, I will get the cookpot ready while you go back out there to hunt. Let me know when you'd like to [go].'

You have been assigned the task 'Gouzah Safari'.

Prevent Gurroth from dying of malnutrition by collecting the rabbit meat he needs to finish making a pot of rabbit stew.

Say "go" to zone into the instance.

You say, 'I'd like to go...'

Gurroth Aberrine says 'Good luck! Let me know if you need anything.'

    LOADING, PLEASE WAIT...

Mobs in this instance hit for a max ~8,500 (or more, if you're low on mitigation).

Kill three speckled hares for Gurroth's rabbit stew 0/3 (Morell's Castle)

Acquire three speckled hare carcasses 0/3 (Morell's Castle)

Kill three rabbits for Gurroth's rabbit stew 0/3 (Morell's Castle)

Acquire three rabbit carcasses 0/3 (Morell's Castle)

Speckled hares spawn around the northern part of the candy land while regular rabbits spawn out in the forest.

Deliver three speckled hare carcasses to Gurroth 0/3 (Morell's Castle)

Gurroth Aberrine says 'Yes, this will do spendidly, there's enough speckled hare meat here to bring me back from death's door, assuming I can find a cookpot.'

Deliver three rabbit carcasses to Gurroth 0/3 (Morell's Castle)

Gurroth Aberrine says 'The more rabbit meat, the better. If only I had some herbs and spices. I'll find some around here somewhere.'

Find out when Gurroth's stew will be ready 0/1 (Morell's Castle)

    You say, 'Hail, Gurroth Aberrine'

Gurroth Aberrine says 'Did... Did you hear that? That commotion outside? What is going on out there? Strange, horrible giant rabbits! What could they want? I'm still too weak to lift a weapon, could you run out there and try to... persuade them not to kill us all?'

Talk to the Grand Gouzah, whose name is Snibbles. Find out what the Gouzahs want 0/1 (Morell's Castle)

A giant rabbit, the Grand Gouzah, spawns outside the house along with several smaller gouzahs.

You say, 'Hail, Snibbles The Grand Gouzah'

Snibbles The Grand Gouzah says 'Not often are we ready and able to intervene in your mortal matters, not always are the mystical barriers which normally separate our worlds so chaotically weakened as they are in this place. We shall take this opportunity to punish you for your crimes against our inferior, less-developed brethren. We are Gouzahs. You are killers of our distant relatives. You must die! Your civilization, your creatures, your gods - all shall be destroyed in favor of our new order!'

Snibbles and the surrounding gouzahs attack. If you're able to fade, FD, escape, or otherwise remove your aggro from the initial attack (your death also works), you can split these mobs from one another.

It behooves you to resolve the dispute with the Gouzahs in a way that permits your survival. Kill the Grand Gouzah 0/1 (Morell's Castle)

Kill the attacking Gouzahs 0/6 (Morell's Castle)

Task Window Says: Kill Snibbles, the Grand Gouzah, and at least eight members of his vanguard force.

"a sorcel gouzah" casts "Sorcelling Gouzah-spray":

    Sorcelling Gouzah-spray: PB AE 30', Chromatic (-600)
    1: Decrease HP when cast by 2816 (L1) to 4000 (L149)
    2: Decrease Mana by 1316 (L1) to 3000 (L212) per tick
    3: Decrease Hitpoints by 1316 (L1) to 12000 (L1337) per tick

"a shade gouzah" casts "Shadowlocking Gouzah-blast":

    Shadowlocking Gouzah-blast: PB AE 0', Chromatic (-600)
    1: Mesmerize (1/90)
    2: ? ? ?
    3: Stun (12.00 sec/90)
4: Decrease All Resists by 140
5: Increase corruption counter by 20

"a chaos gouzah" casts "Chaos Gouzah-bolt":

Chaos Gouzah-bolt: Single Target, Chromatic (-600)
    1: Decrease Hitpoints by 19816 (L1) to 30000 (L1274)

Grizzly gouzahs and Snibbles appear to be straight melee.

Speak to the Smart Gouzah 0/1 (Morell's Castle)

Task Window Says: Speak to the Smart Gouzah. Perhaps a resolution can be found to this situation.

The Smart Gouzah spawns with a few gouzahs in the southeastern corner of the candy land area.

You say, 'Hail, The Smart Gouzah'

The Smart Gouzah says 'You cannot destroy us. Killing us only banishes our life energy for a time, returning us to our home plane. As long as we possess our planar teleportation gem, we are free to return here as we please, as many times as it takes to lay waste to those who have harmed our kin. Now you will pay for your crimes against our brethren, mortal!'

NOTE: The task locks at this point. The Smart Gouzah also attacks. It hits for a max ~9,000 (maybe more) and appears to be straight melee.

The only way to prevent Gouzahs from invading the castle is to kill the Smart Gouzah and take its teleport gem 0/1 (Morell's Castle)

Deliver the Gouzah Teleportation Gem to Gurroth, then return from the Gouzah Safari 0/1 (Morell's Castle)

Gurroth Aberrine says 'What's this? A 'planar teleportation gem', you say? I wouldn't know what to do with this, but I suppose I could hang on to it for you if you ever decide you need it. Nice work on capturing this from those horrid Gouzah creatures, whatever they were. They looked like they were about to cause a real problem for us! I'd hate to die hungry at the hands of giant extra-planar rabbits.'

    You say, 'Hail, Gurroth Aberrine'

Gurroth Aberrine says 'Hey, if it's getting too gnarly in the candy forest for you, say the word, and I'll pretend I never gave you this quest... You can [return] to your normal schedule. I still won't have a decent thing to eat, but I'll get by.'

    You say, 'Return me...'

    LOADING, PLEASE WAIT...
    You have entered Morell's Castle.

Find out if Gurroth really wants to continue making rabbit stew, now that he knows the Gouzahs are always watching 0/1 (Morell's Castle)

Task Window Says: After the planar breach returns you to the original dimension of Morell's Castle, speak to Gurroth and see if he still wishes to continue making rabbit stew, with the threat of the Gouzahs' retribution now hanging over him.

    You say, 'Hail, Gurroth Aberrine'

Gurroth Aberrine says 'I suppose I could lay off hunting rabbits around here, never know when those Gouzahs might be able to return. I'll pray that the others of their kind remain unaware of our deeds, even if they still possess the ability to come here. Here, you've done much more than you bargained for, here's a reward.'

Just Molo'd this task as a 90 SK on Miragul. I used Hate's Attraction to single pull the gouzahs, Snibbles and the Smart Gouzah. Hate's Attraction, snare, Deaths Effigy and pull them into the gingerbread house. No adds at all. Easy task. Only hard gouzah was the grizzly gouzah who cast a fd stun.

Our power flickered when I was on 5/6 gouzahs and it wouldn't let me agro any others. So I set a campfire and left zone. Came back, still couldn't cast on them. I went and hailed the Smart Gouzah and behold, I was attacked by one of the small ones I needed. Phew. You know how petitions are these days.

Just finished this quest - within the supposed "2 hour" timer - so I cannot vouch for time cut-off.

Adds - we didn't pick up any, once we had all the rabbit meat we were supposed to gather. Several battles took place right over the top of speckled hares, and no problems.

    Other Notes:

Hailing Snibbles and Smart did not start an auto aggro, so, really anyone can hail. Using harmonous arrow, we were able to split the Snibbles' rabbits into pairs and take them out systematically. For Smart, we tucked up in a corner and used harmonous arrow and got three, Smart plus two gouhazs.

The AE spell casted by the named and gouhazs suck mana from everyone in range. The good news is the range is realtively small for an AE spell. If you can back everyone out of the area except your tank (and other DPS damage peeps), you should be okay. Alternatively, plan to med up between battles.

Zoning back in was dicey - we got jumped by 3 mobs waiting to kill us in the gingerbread house. Next time, I would have an SK (or Necro) go first, hail, and FD, and then just end the task and wait for the rest of the peeps to zone through. No mess, no fuss that way. Ah well, live and learn.

Timer is at 2hours - that is a real annoying bug. 2 hours for the waste. Made a petition but it seems others have that problem since over a year.

What a completely stupid mission - no mezz, no paci, timer is bugged, last ghouza comes with all adds at once. SoE ist stupid. That is lvl90 content and a group with lvl92 wipes fast. Gosh...

And a add: the other hares DO ADD if you fight close to them. Had now more than once the case, that all hares attacked at once, so pull them out of the area, the hare wont add at the pull.

Smart Gouzah has 3 buddies. Killing one buddy does not make that stupid animal go away. They repop fast and the smart gouzah comes always with all at once. No mezz possible, no paci. That is are real mess... the big Gouzah is easier...

From the comments it sounds like the event has changed since it was first written up - I didn't do it beforehand so don't know how it was. As of today though, there are just 6 Gouzahs (plus the named) to kill, not 8. The task reflects that too:
Kill the attacking Gouzahs 0/6 (Morell's Castle)
    This has gotten easier!

Just want to say they have dumbed this down a lot. you only have to kill 6 gouzahs. they do respawn, but they dont aggro when they do. in fact you cannot cast on them, so its like they didnt really. the rabits will not assist the gouzahs. no where on here did it state they would, but it didn't state they wouldnt either, and let me tell you that makes a big diff to know lol.

    Anyway easy *** mission now.

Not sure when it locked, but i tried to add someone before killing the smart gouzah, didnt work.

Did this quest a few days ago. 90 Mage, 90 Wiz, 90 Enc with Cleric/Cleric/Wizard mercs. We didn't have any of the timer problems that have been reported. We never got a message about remaining time.

When it came time to pull the gouzahs, the wizard would AE snare and then the mage would CoH. We picked them off like that for the entire quest with no problems. They weren't hard mobs, but they did have oddly fast respawn times.

Oh, one note of warning. When you zone into the instance you pop inside the gingerbread house and there is a shellscale waiting there which does attack. We almost wiped just from zoning in!

Soon as you loot the 3rd rabbit meat there's a countdown that has nothing to do with the mission timer...
Had 5hrs left on mission but yellow warning came across the screen, you have 15min until your mission ends.
Tried turning the meat in thinking that was rush to get back on track but oh no... you now have 5min till
this mission comes to an end...couldnt kill the rabbits and repops fast enough.

The respawned gouzahs are non-agro. I killed four of Snibbles's buddies, and then they repopped while we were medding (repop rate here is stupid fast), but when I tried to pull them again, my spell wouldn't take hold.

First time I did the group quest, after 2 hours I got booted from the instance. Put a petition in and response was I had gotten the quest a few hours before and dropped it, causing the problem. Well, I hadn't even been in the game, was actually sleeping so I know it wasn't the problem. I did the quest again a few days later and this time I made sure I completed it prior to the 2 hours and good thing too because I got the notification that I had 15 minutes left at the 1 hour 45 minute mark. So either I have a problem with this quest or it is only a 2 hour timer.

Second, first time I did this quest I found out the hard way that the mobs DO respawn in this instance. I had cleared an area to pull to and was killing a mob when I had a spawn right on top of me. So beware.
